The Lincoln Hotel (Biddeford, Maine) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A beautiful red-brick industrial building from the early 1900s is the raw material for the Lincoln Hotel, a 33-room luxury boutique hotel that is, by a considerable distance, the most attractive lodging in the riverside town of Biddeford, Maine. This old textile mill retains many of its original, well-worn architectural features, and they’re complemented by an eclectic array of interventions, some clean-lined and modern, others elegantly Art Deco or whimsically postmodern. The rooms benefit from warehouse-style high ceilings; there’s a rooftop pool, a café, a lobby bar, and a restaurant, Batson River Brewing and Distilling." - Tablet Hotels

The Lincoln Hotel is a wonderful option when visiting Maine. The building is gorgeous, and during the holidays it’s truly magical — the décor makes the entire space feel warm and festive. The staff is very kind and welcoming, and the overall design of the hotel is really lovely. There are a few operational challenges that could definitely be improved - coffee/breakfast area is backed up, especially on weekends, since there’s only one person working. Simply adding a second staff member would make a big difference. Additionally, if there’s live music in the lobby, the sound carries right up to the rooms, which isn’t ideal if you have kids trying to sleep. The bar also seemed understaffed, we couldn’t get a drink at our table because there were no servers working the room. There is so much potential here, and with more support for the food and beverage team, the experience could be fantastic. A beautiful hotel that just needs a little refinement!

We arrived at 4 p.m. in mid-December. The Christmas decorations were as spectacular as ever. For the last five years we have come at this time. The hotel has changed. There was no welcome proseco, the quaint little hot chocolate station was not set up. There was nobody at the bar. The rooms are spectacular. Spacious, elegant, romantic, and the linens are top notch, the bathrooms are heavenly, and the gas fireplace creates a beautiful ambience. We attended a Christmas concert and arrived back at the hotel just before nine. A surly bartender was closing up, and there is no bar service or food after 8:45. this is a hotel!!!! The front desk clerk had told us the bar would be open until 10. Sadly, we went to bed. I love this old building with its charming nooks and crannies, but I fear that this place might not survive. We had a lovely cappuccino in the morning, down in the lobby, but again, we had the place to ourselves. We shared the space with the cleaners who were washing the beautiful wood floors. So much effort has gone in to creating a beautiful place, I hope the residents of Biddeford will support such a magnificent addition to the town.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this exceptional hotel, and I am delighted to share my outstanding experience. The hotel's beauty is truly breathtaking, with impeccable decor. However, it was the staff's exceptional service and warm hospitality that truly set this hotel apart. The team was extremely helpful, attentive, and personable, ensuring that all my needs were met throughout my stay. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to assist created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making me feel valued and appreciated. While the price may be higher than some other options, I firmly believe it is well worth the investment. The hotel's luxurious atmosphere and exceptional service made for a truly unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a high-end experience with a personal touch.

This is a truly beautiful and well appointed hotel. I spent 2 nights here and had a lovey visit. The attention to detail in the guest rooms from the artwork to the overall design is impressive. The staff was lovey and the city is not far from Portland, Maine. I would absolutely come back. My only complaint is that my room did not have a smart tv, so I couldn't catch up on my streaming shows which is a minor inconvenience for such an impressive overall stay. Even without the streaming availability, the rooms are so wonderful it's hard to bring yourself to check out - which is the ideal sentiment for any good hotel stay.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but The Batson River Brewing restaurant was recommended to us for lunch and it's inside the hotel. The hotel was stunning and the Christmas decorations were incredible. It was such a pleasant surprise as we'd never heard of it before. We're planning to stay there sometime soon!

This is not about the guest rooms bc we were not overnight guests.|This hotel has so much potential. Interesting, historic building.|On a recent evening in December, valet was MIA and front desk was no help whatsoever. “Oh, I guess he’s not here”. No kidding. Main room with bar was festively decorated but due to furniture placement, there were no available tables and chairs. A couple here and there were occupying a grouping that would have seated 6 or more, but it felt intrusive to join complete strangers bc we were a party of 4 friends who wanted to visit over drinks without loudly talking across a room-sized arrangement of furniture with people we didn’t know.|The woman behind the desk who was not helpful regarding the valet, told us not to move furniture when we wanted to add a 4th chair to our table. A group of women had already taken chairs from other tables to seat their group of six.|Imagine to learn after all that awkwardness, that there didn’t appear to be cocktail waiters. None. So we asked “Miss Unhelpful” at the desk how to order a drink. She said “I guess you just get it at the bar”. The bar, where there was one bartender who did not seem to be making any progress with people crowded around . We observed other folks attempting to carry drinks across the room to their friends, sloshing all the way. Cocktail napkin anyone? |It’s really a shame. The bar and cocktail waitstaff could have made a fortune that night. The piano player/ vocalist was very good.|We eventually gave up on a cocktail and went downstairs to dinner. At the bottom of the stairs was a great cavernous empty space with a sensory overload of lights, flames and more lights. Strange, wasted space.|We really wanted to have a fun night out and would have happily paid and tipped a cocktail waiter.|Please resuscitate this place before it flatlines.

Google
Well this was one the most pleasantly lively, beautifully designed, playfully funky, and overwhelmingly christmassy hotels I’ve ever been to. Reasonably priced. Kind staff. Oysters at the bar. Beers in the basement. Banging thrift stores on Main Street. Sofas sofas sofas. Christmas trees. Christmas trees. Christmas trees. Nice as hell toiletries. Fake fire places. But they kinda slap. I’m getting excited all over again typing this up. It’s great here you guys!

We stayed at The Lincoln Hotel in Biddeford for four nights in September. The Lincoln stands out in our minds as being one of the most comfortable hotels we’ve stayed in. ||Our corner room on the fourth floor was huge and beautifully designed, with an incredibly comfortable bed, a cozy couch and fireplace, gorgeous rugs. It was very dark in the room at night (yay!) so we slept really well. The bathroom was huge and lovely – our only quibble was the that shower water pressure could have been better. Our room had great Wifi, a good-sized fridge, and we loved the water and sparkling water “on tap” with refillable glass bottles on every floor – that was such a nice touch. ||All other beverage and light meal needs are covered by a great little coffee shop downstairs (unfortunately with a broken oven while we were there so no hot food items) and an accompanying great little lobby bar for the evenings. The rooftop pool area had a lot of seating, a fire pit and gorgeous views at night. ||Guests have complimentary access to an independently-owned gym that is in the same building, so it’s easy to get to. The fitness center is full of good weight training equipment, but the cardio machines are quite dated. Hotel guests have to officially register with gym staff before working out, which took more time than it should and seemed needlessly tedious. The gym could have been cleaner and was exacerbated by the regular patrons not cleaning the equipment after use. ||We didn’t eat at the restaurant. There’s convenient complimentary parking, and we loved the hotel’s location. In the property's public spaces, there is a ton of comfortable seating and a large gathering/work space in the lower level. Staff are very friendly. ||Someone obviously put a lot of thought into the design and layout of the rooms and public areas of the hotel, which really makes The Lincoln a standout. We loved our stay and would definitely stay there again!

Yelp
Lovely lobby and cocktail bar. Just charming, especially during the holidays. Since our last visit however, they have taken ALL appetizers off the menu. There's not even pita bread and humus,no crackers, no cheese slices NOTHING. We went to,Bartson River downstairs for dinner as planned, ( very good) but we still wanted something pre dinner to soak up some of the alcohol. They used to offer charcuterie and a few other choices . They need to bring it back!

Yelp
Love the atmosphere of the bar. Drinks and wine selection are ok. I wish you could get some apps though.

Yelp
Beautiful. Reasonably priced. Great staff. Comfy beds. Everything was perfection. Located in the heart of town within walking distance of great food and quaint shops.

Yelp
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. There's multiple spots in the lobby to sit with your drink and relax. The rooms are large with the most comfortable king sized beds. The roof top pool wasn't yet when we stayed, but we can't wait to go back when it is. The staff were very friendly and responsive. Our room was quiet; we never heard our neighbors. I'm not sure if that's because of the rooms or just the small size (33 rooms) of the hotel. As a female traveler, I do wish there was a deadbolt on the room doors. But you do need a room key to operate the elevator, so there is a little protection.

Yelp
We stayed overnight at the Lincoln and enjoyed the rest. First thing you notice upon entering is how beautiful the space is. Secondly is the overpowering scent. It is their signature scent that is piped thru the lobby area. I'm not normally bothered by scents but this is powerful & knowing several friends that can't tolerate perfume smells I'm sure some clientele would be physically uncomfortable. The room itself was beautiful & large. High ceilings & fireplace. Very well done. No perfumed air. We had dinner downstairs at Batson River. Very nice. Great bar.

Yelp
We had a really good time at the bar. Didn't eat but had a couple cocktails that were professionally made and served in a professional manner. We enjoyed our time at the bar and look forward to coming back for food.

Yelp
Phenomenal...beautifully renovated mill building. Lobby area bar with excellent cocktails and some food with more coming soon from Batson River. Can't say enough about the beauty of this space, as well as the delicious drinks and service. Haven't tried food but will update when I do.

Yelp
if you're looking for upscale drinks in Biddeford (and can afford the prices,) this is the place for you, Our drinks were delicious! The Hotel Lobby bar reminds one of something out of the Old Port or San Francisco. Love how there are great niche places for small groups to gather and enjoy a beverage! Looking forward to seeing what the addition of Batson River's food and drink menu will do to keep people coming back because paying $20 for the tiniest charcuterie board ever leaves you feeling a tad hungry.

Yelp
This review is based only on the bar. I'm sure their rooms are pricey but gorgeous. My husband and I had enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Pacifico and left wanting a nightcap, so we decided to try out the new, fancy, Lincoln. This was Saturday night, and while there were people there it wasn't crowded or packed by any means. We were wowed by the beautiful interior decor-- and we sat down on a leather couch to pick out cocktails. Within 10 minutes a cheery young lady popped over with some handheld device to take our order. My husband ordered his cocktail, their version of a martini (yes, on the menu), at $15 a drink, and she raised an eyebrow as if she was unsure of its existence. Fast forward almost 25 minutes. We watched couples come in, trios, etc., watched the bartenders laughing, making their drinks, shaking and pouring... and not one single martini. Unsure of how to proceed, we didn't want to seem needy, at the 15 minute mark we said maybe let's just see if someone comes over? At 23 minutes of waiting for one drink... we left. You can keep your pretentious bar, Lincoln. If you're hoping to overlook people, ya nailed it!

Yelp
Great setting but expensive wine. $12 for 3 or 4 oz max. Beer $8 (craft only). I understand one has to make money but it felt like too little or too much $ on drinks. I just wanted to give fair review

Yelp
I'm confused why this is a not more highly rated. Family friendly and amazing. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Everyone is super friendly even to our young kids. Would def recommend this to families visiting Maine. The hotel restaurant and bar were amazing too and the pool.

Yelp
Swanky atmosphere. Reminiscent of a 1920's NYC gentlemen's club. Dark, sophisticated, classy. But. You're still in Biddo. Two yummy cocktails, two mediocre happy hour apps. $64 before tip.

Yelp
We visited the lobby bar of the Lincoln Hotel for the first time since its opening. The décor is very upscale yet fun. There is ample seating with lots of great conversational areas. It was a busy late Saturday afternoon when we visited. There was only one server who was working the lobby to take orders. We are very understanding and patient with staffing constraints. You cannot walk up to the bar to place an order. We waited 10 minutes for our order to be taken which we did not have an issue with. My husband's beer arrived within in a few. My drink which needed an additional ingredient didn't arrive for another 15 minutes. I would have preferred to just order a different drink had I known there would such a lengthy delay. We will be back. It is a very cool spot. Looking forward trying Batson River when they open there soon.

Yelp
I'm sitting here in the lounge. Been here multiple times and it's the same poor and ridiculously slow service. There is one waitress for the entire lounge! It's Christmas week and it's packed. I've watched a few parties get up and leave after having received no service after 40 minutes of waiting for their drink orders to be taken! While the ambiance is beautiful, the service does not match. I'd rather make the trek to Portland at this point.

Lisa Z.

Yelp
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this hotel! The staff at the Lincoln Hotel were very friendly and super helpful! Our experience was amazing! The beds were beyond comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The entire hotel is so unique and eclectic! The interior designer is spot on with every little detail! I can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
Bartender was very stressed out and rude. Expensive drinks with very little quantity and quality. Would rather spend my hard earned dollar elsewhere where bartenders are not rude and drinks are of better quality.
