"The Little Chihuahua is a great place for a San Francisco-style (read: enough for three people) burrito, especially if you can't make it over to the Mission. They have the traditional favorites - carne asada, carnitas, tacos - as well as some seriously amazing salmon tacos and a plantain burrito. The Little Chihuahua SFO Airport Review - SFO Airport - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The burritos in San Francisco are some of the best in the country, and even the ones at the airport are better than the sad excuses you’ll see elsewhere. Grab one from The Little Chihuahua because eating one will help you momentarily forget you’re headed to your sixth conference of the year. They have chicken, tofu, carne asada, chorizo, and vegetables. Will this burrito match the one you got at at 2am? No, but it will set you up for a three-hour plane nap. They also have tacos, tostada salads, and tortilla soup. " - Ricky Rodriguez

Google
A really cozy Mexican restaurant. They have awesome flavors, and an assortment of salsas to add to your dishes. Also you definitely need to try the Horchata! It’s super refreshing.

Google
Perfect music ambience, the food is banging, but best of all… y'all there ain’t a single wobbly chair in there. Ever seat has proper leveling feet and is unbelievably rigid. Came for the good, stayed for the flawless seating situation

Google
Huge thank you to Andrew for all of your help and catering at our recent large event. I have been a huge fan of your food, but catering with you all? Every event organizer's dream. So appreciated your team and and was a breeze. Guests loved the food too and will be sure to use again. Cannot recommend enough.

Google
I ordered an al pastor super burrito and two tacos. Food was fresh, tasted great, not overly salted. A bit of a modern spin on mexican food, and well done. In such a posh area everyones a critic amiright? 😆

Sophia Krinos

Google
Great vegan options, the vegan soyrizo burrito was amazing. Prices are reasonable for the area.

Google
Pretty awesome tacos place in the neighborhood! We tried about 5 different tacos, they were also so good. But what stood out for us were to Al Pastor and Soyrizo and the Salmon. Definitely coming back for those! The chicken tortilla soup was also pretty good just that it could have been more hot. It was just lukewarm when it got to us!

Google
I ordered the Garlic Shrimp bowl. Though I was impressed with the looks of the meal, I was disappointed in the taste. For it being “garlic” shrimp, it lacked garlic and/or the flavor of garlic. My sister and nephew both ordered the Shrimp Diablo tacos that was supposed to come with a side of rice and beans. They forgot to give them their rice and beans and the description of the tacos said it would come with strips of poblano—it didn’t. The corn tortillas tasted old and the meat—also lacked flavor. The only salsa we had that had flavor was the one on my plate. While in San Francisco, I won’t be choosing this place again to eat Mexican food. The restaurant is nice and clean. The decor is interesting and really cool. But the food, it lacks big time in Mexican flavors.

Google
Gluten free burritos?! Don’t mind if I do! Such a rarity to find, and boy was it ever scrumptious. Also really enjoyed the kale salad with chicken. Very fast and friendly service as well! Great vibe too.

Yelp
A hidden gem in San Francisco! This Mexican spot serves authentic and flavorful dishes that hit the spot every time. It's definitely a must-visit.

Yelp
I had an absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant. I ordered a burrito, and not only was it completely wrong, but it was also made in a way that felt retaliatory. The burrito was tiny, mostly filled with rice, and had barely any meat. What's worse, I'm concerned that my food may have been tampered with. The employee I dealt with, Jaimey (or Haymee), was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He initially lied about not receiving my order, only to change his story after I mentioned speaking to the owner. It took him 10 minutes to "find" my order, and when he did, he got it completely wrong. When I called to address the issue, he shouted at me and told me to complain to the owner. His behavior was shady and completely unacceptable. I've been a regular customer here for years, but after this experience, I've lost all trust in this place. I'll be sticking with El Farolito from now on--they don't employ rude or untrustworthy staff like this. If you value good service and food integrity, I'd recommend avoiding this place.

Yelp
I review burritos lot; I get super burritos oftentimes a week in San Francisco. Some burritos are worth 17, some aren't. This tiny burrito is not worth 17 dollars. Mostly for the size, but also docking points for it tasting more as an American take on a burrito than a legitimate taqueria burrito
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
We tried the new birria meat option in a kid's taco. It didn't include any salsa, toppings or broth to dip the taco in. So can't speak to that but will say the beef was delicious and tender. We would 100% choose the birria beef option in any preparation from now on! Also- the avocado-tomatillo salsa is better than any salsa verde in the city!
google avatar

Yelp
Pricey burritos with taxes you'll be paying close to $20 which is painful to me. food itself is solid but not worth the price. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here. They have a wide range of salsa options at the salsa bar which is nice.

Yelp
I went with a large group of friends. I actually really enjoyed the food I got here. I ordered a steak quesadilla, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel like you can never go wrong with this meal. The food came out pretty fast. Zero complaints here! I quite enjoyed this restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Very casual place with fast service. One of my go-to places. Big fan of the super chicken burrito, felt like there's a good ratio of ingredients (not a crazy amount of chicken but a good amount). The garlic shrimp burrito had a very strong smell and I didn't enjoy it, but my friend loved it. The tacos were a bit soggy, I wouldn't get them again.

Yelp
My go to spot for a casual takeout pr eat in dinner! Hardly ever a line and always seating available. Food in hand in 10 min. My classic is usually the carne asada bowl or burrito, but recently got into their carne asada quesadilla. It is SO good if you love cheese. Also you must try their churro waffle. So perfectly crispy on the outside with soft fluffy batter inside. Served warm and delicious and artery clogging. Five stars for the tasty, cheap for sf, and fast vibes
google avatar

Walid F.

Yelp
The burrito is too thin/small to justify in an era of soaring burrito prices. The food was decent and I enjoyed some of the salsas, but I can't recommend this spot due to this mid burrito. Anytime I get a steak and shrimp burrito I am almost always stuffed, or can't finish, but I left here still hungry and broke. Just walk closer to the mission.

Yelp
Food here was ok. I've been here 2 times - one many years ago and again more recently to catch up with a friend. I think the inside of the restaurant has been renovated since the last time I came in here many years ago. It looks a little different and things look a bit newer. There's tons of seating even though the restaurant is quite small. There's a small salsa bar near the ordering counter. Service was decent. The food came quick. I wasn't too hungry this time around so I got the chicken tortilla soup. It was ok. Nothing to write home about. It was a little spicy and it did taste fresh but it just wasn't anything I'd be come back for. I know burritos are more of the hype here but I don't really think I'd be back unless someone wants to explicitly try it or go there.
google avatar

Yelp
All I have to say is to get the black bean plantain burrito. It is uniquely made and creatively delicious, and my go-to whenever I get takeout from The Little Chihuahua. With their fast service, it's always an easy decision to pop by for one. I usually will grab an avocado from my fridge and spoon it onto each bite, as an extra little touch. Their chips and salsa (from a self-serve little salsa bar) are also top notch, don't forget them with your meal!
google avatar

Shreha J.

Yelp
I am vegetarian and i love a good burrito bowl. I looooove this spot for a solid bowl with plenty of options for me! I also love that they have 5 different salsas that you can take yourself, so they are not stingy with the salsas: they are all delicious, especially the chipotle!
google avatar

Rachel F.

Yelp
Really mixed feelings. I've been here 3 times and have tried something different every time (and had a few bites of my boyfriend's food). I loved the salmon burrito and was sooo stuffed! I felt like it was reasonably priced for a salmon burrito. The second time, I got the garlic shrimp burrito to go and I was so underwhelmed. The shrimp was overcooked and it just didn't taste great! I was really sad because I had expected it to be as good as the first time I went. I decided to give it another shot and went again in person and ordered the al pastor burrito. All the flavors pretty much jumbled together. The meat was tender, but I felt like it needed some more fresh flavors in it. I didn't get much cheese or pineapple salsa and I felt like that would've made it a lot nicer. The staff are friendly, but a lot of the water cups were super dirty (i.e. had lipstick stains all over them). I won't be coming back unfortunately but if you decide to go, definitely give the salmon a chance!

Yelp
Decent food, lacking with service. On two different occasions served food with allergens when specifically ordered without. When taken back both times was told I was incorrect when the person I was with had an allergic reaction each time. No apology, just an explanation that we were wrong. Not coming back anymore
google avatar

Brittany K.

Yelp
TLC is a super solid option. It always tastes good, looks good, and is consistently the same. I've liked everything -- nachos, burritos, breakfast burritos (all day!), bowls. I love that they have the combination of black beans + plantain, but I usually get their refried pintos otherwise. Tip: You can sub Mexican potatoes for rice, which I do sometimes for variety. Great salsa bar, too!
google avatar

Raleigh N.

Yelp
They brought back their tostada salad! Guys. It's one of the best things I've ever eaten. Especially if you are a vegetarian. Get it with plantains! The staff is super friendly and nice. I feel like they always have orders ready so quickly. Absolutely love this place. It is a treasure. Not to mention they actually seem to listen to their customers which is rare nowadays
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Food was good, burritos were big! Loved the salsa bar! I would recommend the pitcher of margaritas! It's made with oranges, it was a amazing surprise because it was refreshing and delicious! Workers are very nice! Very clean place. At one point they turned the music up and it was fun because everyone started singing and just having a good time, until one couple asked them to turn it down, buzz kill. If I went back I would get something else. The burrito was good I just expected something different.

Yelp
Fast casual Mexican spot serving up tacos and more. Overall, the food is slightly overpriced even compared to other spots on Polk Street and a notch down in flavor even though it is serviceable. This is based on 3 visits over the past year or so. When it comes to taco spots, I usually compare based on the Al Pastor, which can be difficult to pull off as it can be both too sweet or not flavored enough but it's hard to stand out at either extreme. Unfortunately, the5 tacos were quite underwhelming. The meat was not very flavorful. It was relatively lean, which is fine. However, they also place a ton of cheese on the bottom of the tacos. The cheese is not flavorful either and the amount of cheese and grease coming off it overwhelms what flavor there is for the meat. Tortillas were decent but nothing special. On the plus side, you do get a lot of meat per taco. The biggest detractors though were the rice and beans. The beans were mediocre, not particularly flavorful, but the rice was flavorless and lifeless. For the price (about $16.50 for 2 tacos + rice + beans), there are many better meals in the area. Normally I'd drop this to 2 stars but I'm open to other options being decent.
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
After attempting to finish the fishiest, most overpriced burrito in San Francisco ,I told myself that I should leave a 2 or 3 star review and not a 1 star- it's not like the food gave me food poisoning and I shit my pants or something. Please look at the star rating in this review. The salmon burrito was not my friend.
google avatar

Jill P.

Yelp
As a gluten free girly this is my go-to. It's really hard to find a gluten free burrito that doesn't dissolve into powder or mush when I take it out of the wrap... but their GF tortilla is PERFECT. I can't even tell the difference I always make my BF take a bite to ease my mind. The shrimp burrito is one of my favorites but you can't go wrong with the basics...everything is great. Although I've never sat down to eat the vibe inside is always busy but still clean. Service is quick!
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Cinco de mayo is an excuse to eat tacos and have cerveza, am I right? The steak and shrimp tacos have my san diego stamp of approval but the burrito....well I guess I won't yuck your yum.
google avatar

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Had lunch catered by employer. 3 locations and they emphasize the use of organic and healthy ingredients. Got the chicken burrito that comes with beans, rice & cabbage. Unfortunately, the burrito itself wasn't very memorable and the amount of chicken was pretty sparse. It's almost a surprise when a bite comes with a bit of protein. They do have a vegan burrito option, but didn't try it. Overall, the burrito itself wasn't very special and probably would only come back to give the vegan burrito a chance.
google avatar

Connie N.

Yelp
I didn't hate the salad as I'm a sucker for corn and avocado in salads. The chipotle dressing also had the perfect amount of spice. More so sad about the fried plantains appetizer as the chips were super stale, the plantains were buried in black beans, and it just wasn't what we were expecting! Will give this place another try with a burrito or tacos!
google avatar

Yelp
Been trying the Little Chihuahua again lately. The last time was a major disappointment. The last couple times I ordered were pretty blah. I haven't had great luck with ordering correctly. The last burrito I got was delivered- it arrived cool (as did my partner's burrito). It was really disappointing because I wanted a baby burrito with soyrizo added and it was just mush at room temp. There should be a balance of ingredients and textures in a burrito. I asked for cabbage. They gave me about a tablespoon. Also the size was about the same as a full size though less full. I just Know if I can figure out what exactly to order (and how), I will be able to come up with something that I like from there. They have great quality ingredients, just needs to be put together better, and Hot. Delivery is less than 15 blocks and a burrito should not be cold.
google avatar

Pratul L.

Yelp
High quality ingredients and Americanized taqueria style food that's pretty good. My main complaint is they don't do side sauces for delivery - it's incredibly annoying to receive a delivered burrito without a single side salsa. That's like ordering fries without ketchup. @Management - please add that option on DoorDash, charge for it even. Because this isn't in place I never order from you guys anymore =T. If it was, I'd order for my family 1x a week regularly
google avatar

Ivan Z.

Yelp
3.5 stars rounding down Decent place located on Divis! Honestly I think the prices are a bit steep for the amount of food that you're getting but the al pastor burrito is fantastic. It's not SUPER authentic in terms of the type of food that you're getting but no complaints if you're in a rush. They also have good vegan / vegetarian options so that's a win
google avatar

Steve D.

Yelp
Top 3 regular spot. The taste is great, distinct, and good value. Love the Tostada Salad or the burritos, the carne asada is a step above the other protein options. Camila's salad is meh, want to love it but undersized and lacking for repeat orders. Avoid the soyrizo, sadly this place does not rank well for me in vegetarian days. No frills black beans, rice, and cheese quesadilla. Salsa bar is always well stocked, fresh, and lots of choices; dying breed in SF. Clean (recently renovated) and friendly staff.

Yelp
We frequent little chihuahua often, it's our favorite local Mexican. I had to post today bc of the outstanding service. As I left with my pickup order (which was on time, as always), I was stopped by a worker to show that the bag was ripping a bit. They immediately rebagged my items without my even asking. I walk the food home several blocks, so this was a BIG save! Thank you for always making fresh, delicious food with the best service!!
google avatar

Cris L.

Yelp
If you like spicy, then get the steak and shrimp Al Diablo burrito. This thing was sooo good. One of the best burritos I've had in the city. Great tortilla and utterly delicious spicy ingredients with poblano peppers. Yummmm
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
Food was incredible, service ok. Guac is a generous portion for the price. Would recommend this spot for an easy bite
google avatar

Anila Y.

Yelp
Ordered a kids Bean and CHEESE burrito but received beans and rice. I saw them prepare it with only beans and rice, even though the receipt said "beans, cheese, and rice." The menu should reflect reality, (as opposed to skimping on ingredients) especially when it comes to the difficult task of feeding kids.
google avatar

J.G S.

Yelp
It's a nice place to sit, service is great. but the food is just bland. Any taqueria would be better.
google avatar

Yelp
THIS IS A TO-GO REVIEW: Pretty good! Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 5/5** Friendly phone service and quick easy pick up. Everything was ordered correctly and packed neatly. **Price & portion, 4/5** Not cheap but for a San Francisco restaurant this is actually a great price for a big portion **Packaging, 5/5** They killed it on the to go boxes. They have specific styles of packaging for each type of menu item. No longer are the days where you have to suffer through a wet item soaking through your paper box. The guac had a nice plastic tub, the tacos had a platter with a plastic lid, and the burrito was wrapped in foil. **Taste, 3/5** Looking at the food, I was so impressed and thought I would love it but honestly it was just average. Al pastor tacos were packed but the meat was dry and the veggies were a bit soggy. Shrimp burrito was delicious but not much meat. Guac was actually really good and spicy. This location is a short drive away from the best burritos in the bay (Mission District) so if im in the area I would much rather one of those.
google avatar

Toni L.

Yelp
They have delicious and fresh food. I love their roasted vegetable burrito, it is consistently amazing and crave-worthy. Each component is well made and high quality, the rice, beans, vegetables, and salsas. They have well labeled vegan options, so helpful. Their shop is a cute small space, not large, but clean and cozy. Their salsa bar is awesome. I love coming here whenever I'm in town. Excellent!
google avatar

Adriana S.

Yelp
This is hands down the best place for a fast healthy Latin meal in San Francisco! The food is such good quality, the margaritas are magically inexpensive and delicious. I love that their house salsa is smokey chipotle.. Their salsa bar goes off! I always get either their pollo chile verde or carne asada and shrimp bowl (habanero on the side) one time I got my order in less than five minutes. This is the definitely the best place for fast service
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
I got the garlic shrimp burrito, wasn't good and made me feel a little gross while I was eating it. It seemed like not much care was put into the flavors of my dish. Chips cost extra as well, and the salsa I got from the salsa bar tasted off. On top, it was very loud in there and the door was open and a draft was coming in. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to rancho grande! Cheaper, more authentic, better flavors, and doesn't disappoint.
google avatar

Sora S.

Yelp
Delicious food! The plantains were a perfect mix of spicy, sweet, and salty. Very friendly staff as well and quick service!
google avatar

Priyanka K.

Yelp
If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! I have tried their amazingly spiced soyrizo, salmon, plantain and bean tacos, burrito bowls, burritos and everything is delicious! This review is valid for fresh food - I'm not a fan of takeout, a lot of the flavor is somehow compromised in takeouts from this place. Food: - My special favorite is the soyrizo - embracing a vegan option as a Mexican food joint already makes TLC rare, and then spicing up the soyrizo beautifully just makes TLC the unbeatable Mexican food choice for me. Unique selling points: - they have delicious vegan options - they use organic ingredients - have a wonderful salsa bar Another great thing about TLC is that it is situated next to an amazing shaved ice cream place called Powder! These are our go-to dinner/dessert spots! So lucky to be situated so close to TLC!

Yelp
Cute spot near yoga garden and the Page in Divis! Indoor dining and to go pick up. I've been a die hard Papalote burrito gal for years (being only a block from home) but I've been craving tostadas lately so I put out a Yelp search and found this fairly local spot that was new to me. I can't believe this is my visit visit to TLC cuz it was awesome! There a little something for everyone, meat, veggie and they will even accommodate this vegan The salsa bar is great and the food is as fresh and delish and the wait was short. We came close to closing and we ate nearly alone . Only wish the flour shell was corn instead or even just a flat corn tostada round. Few weeks later, I stopped again for a to go order with my crew on way to ice skating and picked up burritos and a quesadilla . I felt like they were enjoyed by all and the proportions were comparable if not larger, while my ride or die Papalote kids said they were good but wanted papalote next time. I guess this will be for me when they aren't around cuz sometimes you need a good tostada.

Yelp
I was there recently and the cashiers were amazing as always guys, the customer service you guys give us is always amazing, outstanding and very very remarkable but sadly this time I had a very bad time I went to the cashier and started placing my order, it was so polite and shows us a wide knowledge of the menu, when finished taking my order, I asked that how long it'll take for my order to be ready, and says like 5 mins or less, till now everything was good but everything start changing by now: I was waiting with my wife and 5 mins passed, then 10 more, and then 20 more mins, and when it was nearly a half an hour I just went to the front desk and stand right there, the main guy from the kitchen (with glasses) was standing there playing with his phone right in front of everyone and then when he noticed me, he just looked at me, put his phone on charge, gave me bad look and went to the kitchen and start working without washing his hands and drinking from his beer Come on guys it was still daylight and he was already drinking and plus that working. When he finished, I don't know what he tell to the other guys but he seems to be so mad and angry and is not the first time, always when I go there with my family he's like in a bad mood and he is working in a restaurant. Come on The cashier was fast in preparing my food and put it for to go because it was too late for me so I have to change my mind and put it for to go (no without some extra bags of chips that offered me). But my dish supposed to be for here but I had to change my mind since it tooks too long, the cashier was so polite with me and give me a big apology multiple times but I know it wasn't its fault I loved sitting in the little chihuahua but now you guys lost a customer Tell that kitchen guy to behave
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
Thank you, Andrew! Your plan sounds like it will address the issue. We look forward to enjoying the delicious food from The Little Chihuahua for years to come.
google avatar

Mag K.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Nachos were average, garlic shrimp burrito was awful. Understandable for the location, would not last in the mission or around any authentic competition. Good for folks who like chipotle
google avatar

Joshua V.

Yelp
Had the steak and shrimp bowl. Safe to say it was a solid choice. Excellent food with great spice. Be warned though the spice is medium to high.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
The place does have good flavor, unfortunately for me it seems that even the rice is already made with some peppers. So most plates have considerable kick to them. So if you like that then it's a place you want to check out. Flavors are fresh and not bland, just know that it's all going to be spicy.

Property M.

Yelp
Very good and usually consistent. Chips are extra which I won't fault them for but not ok by me when they are stale. Salsa bar is great. I've had bad experiences with us ordering grilled chicken or steak in the past (taste and texture, not any health issue), but usually everything there is good. Highly recommend trying a burrito and agua frescas. The new birria chip dish was good and a meal on its own.
google avatar

Christine F.

Yelp
Steep prices! Would eat here more often if the prices were even just a dollar cheaper than they currently are because the food is pretty good. I recommend the pastor and garlic shrimp burritos. Both are flavorful and satisfying.

Anne G.

Yelp
The food was delicious!!!! so so good.- and Veronica was awesome- what a sweet lady! definitely recommend you give this place a try!!!

Smiggleflort M.

Yelp
Very good food and Veronica was very nice. We got the mushroom and carnival super tacos they were very good and would definitely recommend mushroom to most people who like that sort of thing. Will go again!

Yelp
This is a solid place to stop for some yummy Mexican food. We stopped in with a party of 7 on a Monday at 4pm. There was a table big enough for this party, the service was on point, food was served quickly and everything was delicious.
