Best Restaurants in Haddonfield, New Jersey, a Dry Town Near Philly | Eater Philly

"After spending 30 years as the chef de cuisine at Rose Tattoo in Philadelphia, Alan Lichtenstein took over the Little Hen in 2020, becoming a first-time restaurant owner in his late 60s. With only 18 seats, this French restaurant is one of Haddonfield’s most intimate dining experiences. The kitchen puts out refined takes on rustic plates of duck confit, sous vide pork tenderloin, and Cajun and Creole seafood — keep an eye out for the Louisiana gumbo and shrimp etoufee specials. Other favorites include escargot, frog legs, and duck frites." - Kae Lani Palmisano

"Back in November chef Mike Stollenwerk and partner Felice Leibowitz flipped their intimate BYOB into a homey market on Haddonfield’s main drag. Switching gears from fine dining to grab-and-go gourmet, the Little Hen Market is stocked with imported cheeses and cured meats, elevated condiments like Champagne vinegar and truffle butter, plus plenty of fresh baguettes. Those looking to brighten up their home cooking set up will find chef quality French cookware from de Buyer and a colorful library of cookbooks for sale." - Caroline Coral

Attended a small wedding celebration here. 🎊 The restaurant was the perfect size for our group and the food was phenomenal. Everybody was so happy with the meal and it was definitely the best wedding meal I've ever had!! The staff and chef were awesome and everything was great. Super delicious 😋

A wonderful dinner for my wife and I. It is a lovely small restaurant with the kitchen right near the dining area. The courses came out at a pace that made for a very enjoyable dinner. We were able to enjoy each course and some time for the two of us before the next came out. We had vichyssoise with scallops, sautéed radish, mushroom toast, the duck, and steak. For dessert we had the crepe cake. All were phenomenal and loaded with flavor, and the duck and steak were cooked a perfect medium rare. This restaurant is a gem.

It’s been a couple weeks since we ate at Little Hen and we still talk about how good it was. Food was perfectly cooked, seasoned. From the bread to the dessert, and many many dishes in between, all three of us were raving at how damn delicious it was. service was attentive and kind but not overbearing. I’m very much looking forward to going back.

My partner and I did a double date here for dinner. First impressions is the restaurant is small, but very cute. The location is great - downtown Haddonfield. Small means very limited seating and the vibe is business casual with BYOB, but elegant dining experience you’d wanna take you’re time with. That being said - come with patience. When we sat, the server was very polite and opened our bottles and got ice. We took our time trying to limit what we are going to order - and failed. However, everything was exceptional. I’ve never had frog legs before and I’m not sure I can eat them anywhere else. Run here - don’t walk because you won’t want to miss this place.

Had a great dinner at the little hen! Service was great and the ambiance was cozy. Food was excellent and a classic french menu.

My wife and I visited The Little Hen on Valentine’s Day, expecting a special dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. We ordered the Duck Fry and Steak Moutarde. The duck was undercooked, so I had to return it. By the time they brought it back, my wife had already finished her meal, which made the experience awkward. The steak was very plain, lacking the rich flavors we expected. Service was also disappointing. At one point, the waitress took our dish without even asking if we were done, which felt rushed and unprofessional. For the price and reputation of this restaurant, we expected better food and service. Sadly, it was not the romantic and enjoyable evening we had hoped for.

We made a last minute reservation as we were driving towards the city after a long day - first time here, and it exceeded our expectations! They sat us early, were super responsive throughout our meal, and most importantly the food was incredible. I wish we had remembered to take a photo. We got both specials, the deviled eggs and the steak moustard. Cooked perfectly. Ended with two cups of coffee. Perfect mix of a casual ambience with the taste fining dining. Felt like a good first or second (third…fourth….) :) date spot. Byob!

Perfect BYOB service was amazing. Food was outstanding, I had 6 o'clock reservations, which was the perfect time before the crowd, just an overall great place to sit, relax, and have a high-quality meal and not break the wallet. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Wow....a cool little French spot in Haddonfield. I saw great things about Little Hen and decided to check it out. The servers are super friendly and fast so you'll enjoy the atmosphere. Since it's BYOB, I brought a nice bottle of Dry Riesling which paired nicely with my meal. To start, I got an order of the deviled eggs with trout roe. Presentation was simple yet elegant. I wouldn't say they were the best deviled eggs I've ever had but they were pretty good. For my main course, I opted for the vegetable du jour, which was brussel sprouts, and the duck frites. The brussel sprouts were executed well with a nice crisp exterior. They were sautéed with shallots which added great flavor. The portion was ample as well. The duck was fantastic. The meat was so tender and juicy with the perfect amount of fattiness - not too much but just enough to give it great flavor. The fries were pretty standard but provided a nice crunchy texture contrast to dip into the duck drippings. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal at Little Hen. The prices are on the higher side but you get quality food and great service. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Outstanding restaurant in downtown Haddonfield. Came here for the first time on a Saturday night to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, and the entire experience was perfect from start to finish and truly exceeded our expectations. The whole place is tiny; there is only enough room for six tables inside, but this makes it cozy and intimate. The view of the cooks working with smells wafting over the dining area make it even better. Our server was Will who looked like he was about 16 but he was amazing. Quick, efficient, professional, and kind. The real star of the evening is the food, of course. We had the chicken liver mousse and tomato soup with shrimp and tarragon as starters, and we each had the duck frites as an entree. My girlfriend has spent a lot of time in France and she was in heaven. I'm no expert in French cuisine but everything I tasted was melt-in-your-mouth exquisite. Rich, decadent flavors in everything. We were there for an hour and a half so it was nice to not be rushed and take our time with a perfect dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a next level dinner.

Yelp
We had such a great experience for our first meal at The Little Hen! For how small and quaint a restaurant it is, I was very happy at how easy it was to get a reservation on a Friday night! Of all the things we ordered, the potato leek soup was an amazing starter and so flavorful! I'd also order the escargot again--it was definitely the best I've had in a while. Both of our entrees were delicious and I'd order the duck frites or chicken coq au vin again. And lastly for dessert, I would eat the crème brûlée every time I visit!

Yelp
Finally made it to the Little Hen on a freezing cold Saturday night in March. First, it was great to have an almost normal dining experience in endemic era COVID. I sure hope it stays this way. The Little Hen is small. It holds 20 patrons at most. The staff is extremely good, knowledgeable and thorough. The menu is also small, which is OK with me. The Little Hen is also BYOB as Haddonfield is a blue town. There is street parking and also a public lot nearby. There are only 4 mains plus one special on the menu. What we ordered: Escargots Salade D'Autome Cauliflower Au Gratin Steak Moutard Chicken Breast Coq Au Vin Skate Wing Everything was very, very good! We enjoyed the appetizers, well our party did order Escargots, or snails are not my thing, but the salad was quite good. The Coq Au Vin was unbelievably tender and juicy. The steak was excellent. The Skate wing had a slight sweet and salty flavor profile and was light but filling. Anything Au Gratin and with butter is good with me, even with Cauliflower. Overall, it was a great dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves. I much prefer this type of French Bistro style food over French Haute cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant and so glad to have this nearby. Little Hen will really feel like Europe when it is warm enough in the coming months to dine outside.

Yelp
I visited the little hen with my girlfriend and it was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely come back for dinner anytime, The chef came to our table and was very nice and kind I highly recommend. The music, the ambiance was perfect.
google avatar

Jonathan N.

Yelp
Ambience is great except for music which wasn't very French. Ability to interact with chef is lovely. The whole idea is lovely but it was poorly executed. Server was a bit clueless in knowing ingredients of the offerings and the chef had to clarify what was written down. Even with that, the food still came out with ingredients that we had not asked for. Food was decent but didn't have any of that French simplicity or finesse. We brought two bottles of expensive champagne with us and asked for one of them to be opened and brought to the table. We only drank the one ( and a bottle of white wine we had brought) and upon leaving we asked for the unopened bottle so we could take it home, only to find that they had opened it in the kitchen and left it all evening without a stopper. We also felt extremely rushed toward the end of our evening. They even turned the heat off at around 10:30pm on an extremely cold night.

Yelp
Simply charmed by this little spot. Food fabulous ! Service on point ! Lovely atmosphere ! Thank you for a wonderful evening

Yelp
Best meal of 2020 I've been trying to get here, or their Two Fish location for 2 years now. Something always came up or a different restaurant was chosen. But I didn't lose sight of these gems. When the lockdown ended the Hen reopened quickly, I hadn't even known that the fish just reopened 2 weeks ago( but now that I do I'm obsessed with getting there soon too) We had a 5 pm reservation on a mild summer night. In retrospect a later time would have avoided the pesky sun, but that was easy to overlook with the incredible food we were served. For apps we selected the escargot and scallops. I may have mumbled so was brought out the duck app first. I knew right away this was not the scallops, we were kindly offered to enjoy it anyway. I have to say this was a lucky mistake, this was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The scallops were good as well, but the Florida specimens could have been improved upon with something more local and/or from colder waters. The snails were plump and tasty in their herby and buttery sauce, possibly the best either of us have had. But let's get back to the duck.... this was a crepe stuffed with duck confit, pickled peppers and red onions with an incredible cheesy sauce. Each component could be tasted but as a whole melded into something greater than the sum of its parts. For entrees we had the skate and also the roast pork. The fish was perfectly prepared, and served with pickled pearl onions( these provided a nice acidic pop) and spinach barley that was a good contrast to the rich skate. My entree was the pork and it was possibly the best one I've had. The perfectly cooked meat was served on real dirty rice, and topped with a summer corn relish. Again, every component was perfectly seasoned and cooked. This was an iconic summer dish. We ordered sides of cauliflower and haricot verts. The cheese sauce was amazing in the first, the beans were cooked to perfection with only onions as a companion, but this still produced another best ever veggie. For dessert I acquiesced to the crepe cake( I wanted to try the chocolat) and once again was blown away by the simple elegance and taste. Service was perfect as well and I believe our waitress was also the owner. I look forward to returning when indoor dining is able to resume. I'm thinking steak next time, a table near us ordered it and even though I was pleasantly stuffed by then, it smelled amazing and was causing my hunger to return. I can only imagine how good those frites must have been. One last thought: this is the place to bring those better wines you've been saving for a special occasion. Lastly a shout out goes to Alanna B who is a regular at both locations. What a great recommendation!!!

Yelp
First time trying French cuisine and it was absolutely amazing !!! Ambiance was cute, cozy, and comfortable. Our waiter Kyle was amazing !!! He gave us the low down on the menu and we took some of his ordering advice. He suggested the radishes, eggs, and mushroom toast as starters. Then we had the duck frites and the scallops accompanied by the carrots and the Brussel sprouts special, both were to die for!!! This was my first time having duck and it was outstanding !!! Moist, tender and simply cooked to perfection. The scallops were also delicious, cooked and seared to perfection. We ended the meal with pumpkin crème Brûlée and french press coffee to top it off. The dessert was the perfect amount of pumpkin flavor and the coffee was fresh and hot!! Such a wonderful dinning experience and can't wait to come back !!!

Yelp
Excellent food and atmosphere! Would def recommend! Everything was delicious! From appetizers, entrees to Desserts!

Yelp
Such a cute little restaurant. My teenage daughter wanted to try French food so we chose this place. We loved LOVED their deviled eggs OEUFS SUR OEUFS-the roe really made this delicious. So glad our server recommended it. The mushroom toast was good and the duck frite was really tasty. The servers were really nice and helpful. Also, it's a huge plus that it's a safe place for my kid with peanut and sesame seed allergies. Thanks for a great meal!

Yelp
*Disclaimer: this dining experience took place during Haddonfield Restaurant Week* Vibes: small, no-frills French BYOB, best for a date night Tasting notes: -Bone marrow: very generous portion with a small spoon provided to scoop the buttery goodness on to the toasted baguette slices; loved the crispy, garlicky, very aromatic gremolata crumb layer -Duck confit: fork-tender meat with a light crispy skin; the sweetness, though noticeable upon the bite, does not saturate or overpower the flavor of the duck; lentils were firm and well-cooked -Chocolate pot de creme: served in a surprisingly large jar with about a fifth full with airy whipped cream; richly chocolate in flavor; pleasantly dense and smooth with just a bit of fluffiness with each spoonful Other thoughts: -Friendly, attentive service: as soon as we walked in, even though our table wasn't quite ready, the hostess offered to chill our bottle of Prosecco -Appreciate the filling portion sizes that's uncommonly seen with French restaurants -Would absolutely recommend and come back for the bone marrow and pot de creme!

Yelp
Where can you go in South Jersey for French cuisine? Little Hen is the place to go! We are fans of Mike and Felice's Two Fish Restaurant that is down the street from the Little Hen and was so excited for them to open up this French Bistro Restaurant! We've been to Paris and came back wishing there was a French Bistro Restaurant where the atmosphere is casual, comfortable, fun, and best of all fabulous food! The Little Hen meets all those needs and exceeded our expectations. Some of our favorite appetizers are Oeufs Sur Oeufs (Deviled Eggs), Mushroom Toast, and Frog Legs to name a few. All the entrees and sides are delicious. It's hard to choose just one so that just means you have to go a few times and eat through the menu! The Little Hen is BYOB. Street parking and public parking lots are available near by. Credit Cards are accepted. Reservations can be made on OpenTable.

Marie B.

Yelp
Just attended a private party at Little Hen. Wow for the food. The hosts deftly matched the wine to every course. Again Wow.
google avatar

Andrew N.

Yelp
This is by far one of the best restaurants in the Philadelphia area, even beyond that. Came for dinner several months ago and was kind of shocked at how good the proteins from the entrees were prepared. I've eaten in countless restaurants, lived in New York City for 7+ years, and am rarely blown away by a meal anymore. I did not expect the food to be so exceptional given the setting and price. Really fine dining, yet the restaurant is humble in size and barely adorned. My now-husband and I had been looking for a venue for an intimate dinner following our wedding for months. After enjoying dinner there, we reached out to the management and were greeted with delight and interest. Lauren was so incredibly kind and easy to work with. The restaurant would be closed that evening for our party of 14, and we were given a menu to choose from/edit to our specifications. We arrived early to tables situated along the length of the restaurant and the chef working away on the preparation. We were able to decorate the room as we wanted, but the tableware was provided. The meal was AMAZING. Literally, every part was exceptional, and our families could not stop raving about the food as a whole the entire night. We cannot thank The Little Hen enough for an unforgettable experience.
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
Food amazing. Service from wait staff strong but the owner was completely rude and out of control given his restaurant was empty. We arrived for a 5pm reservation at 4:30 and the place was empty. Empty to the point where he asked the waitstaff to not turn people away. We ordered food, were alone in the restaurant at one point but the food was fantastic. Right until the point the owner came to tell us we had been there too long and needed to leave. We had ordered desserts and the check and he did not acknowledge any of that. Only that in an empty restaurant we had stayed too long. Food-amazing. Service from staff-amazing. Owner has ruined all of it. Never going back.

Yelp
The appetizers were honestly the highlight of this restaurant. We got the cauliflower Au gratin & the crispy frog legs, which were delicious! The Au gratin was great & the frog legs were battered lightly and not dry at all. For the entrees we got the duck frites & skate fish. The fries were good but the duck was supposed to be medium rare but a lot of pieces were on the rare side. The main reason why I am giving it 3.5 stars is bc of the ambiance and service-- very loud environment in a very small room and our server was not attentive at all. We waited a long time for our food and just for our plates to get cleaned up. Our server was no where to be seen when we wanted our check. The other server was the one who took notice and started to ask us if we needed anything even when we weren't his table. Overall, would not come again just because the appetizers outshine the entrees and sad service.

Yelp
i wanted to jot down a quick update since my initial visit. i did return to little hen maybe around the holiday time before omicron took over life again.. anyway! Little Hen is truly a neighborhood gem! it was a busy night with full bookings but the food was super consistent, i was quite impressed! the restaurant is tight but the size of the operation does not impair the quality! we were a table of 4 and basically ordered half the menu to share lol most things were same as last meal but it's always a treat to enjoy their chicken liver mousse and escargot again. this time we tried the tuna crudo and that was very yum but quite $$$. entree wise, all of the dishes were spot on! the chicken au vin - classic but don't over look it! i remember the skate wing was seared perfectly and quite yum! after finishing the meal, it does leave me excited to return in a few months b/c i know it will be a good meal! :)
google avatar

Taylor K.

Yelp
Tasty but a little bit pricey for a more rustic French food experience. The kitchen also needs to be better vented away from the dining area.
google avatar

Ekaette U.

Yelp
I think I added 10 photos and they should speak for themselves! I love Haddonfield restaurants, although this might be first review of one. This entire road is fully of yummy locally owned restaurants on a quaint street in South Jersey. First things first, due to Covid it's outdoor only and reservations are either required or highly suggested. We sat outside which was really nice but the sun beat my poor friends neck to hell. Ideally they should have a few umbrellas that lean. They didn't appear to rotate and didn't think to ask so I won't call this a complaint. It's BYOB and I love me some BYOB because I focus all my money on the food and not the cocktails. As you see can see from the photos we are errrrrything lol. Everything is made the same day. Everything is fresh. I didn't remember to ask if was locally sourced. The desserts were made in house and the poached pear was a specialty created by the server. The service was phenomenal, the waitress (and possibly owner) was amazing and very attentive.
google avatar

Nicholai J.

Yelp
There is a reason why this place has a five star review. A must. Just come. I don't have any more pictures, because we ate it too fast. But at least you have a small picture of dessert.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
When do you get French food? And French food that is good? How about great French food that you can BYOB, has an open kitchen and the owner is the chef? If you have been to little hen the answer would be yes to all questions posed. Italian dominates the area so an alternative is always welcome. French fare in my opinion when it is prepared like it is here should be more readily available. The food just pares so well with your wine (assuming you bring good wine) it can feel like you are at a liquor establishment, meaning it feels full service but without the wine markup. Byobs have to Excell on food because that's all they have and little hen does hit all the high notes. Highly recommend you go.
google avatar

Pam M.

Yelp
My first time here. I will return. Amazing dinner and service! Pictures should tell the story
google avatar

Anthony Y.

Yelp
We had an early date night dinner and ordered almost everything on the menu - deviled eggs, escargot, mushroom toast, sautéed radishes, duck frites and steak. Everything was amazing. We even ordered all the sides and a couple of specials to take home for the kids. We are so lucky to have such an incredible french restaurant within minutes of where we live. Please check this place out - you will love it.

Brit R.

Yelp
Amazing French cuisine! Service can be a little slow if you sit outside, but it's usually just fine. Cute and quaint spot that lets me scratch that French food itch.
google avatar

Staci W.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying the food is INCREDIBLE. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Mussels were the size of my thumb- so meaty. Escargot was not too rubbery and the sauce was 10/10. Highly recommend mushroom toast. Service was 3/5 at best. The restaurant does not have air condition so we were all sweating, especially with hot food. Open kitchen was cool but it allowed for the smoke off the grills to go out to the dining area. Both our eyes were burning when we left. We sat down and did not get asked for our order for 10 Minutes. Seems reasonable when a big restaurant but this only has 7 tables. In the middle of telling us about the menu, someone at another table dropped their fork and the waitress ran over to pick it up, right in the middle of speaking to us. Thought it was very rude. We put in cheeseboard first and it took another 15 minutes to come out (it's not that big to take too long). The fastest thing we got was the check. Now, they just opened so I'm sure they have some kinks to work out and maybe it was just on a bad night. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
google avatar

Trent O.

Yelp
I have driven by this place so many times and never realized it was there on the corner of Kings Highway. Stopped in on a weekday night with my wife and two other couples. It is BYOB.There is only seating for 18 in this very small French restaurant. Overall the food was great and the service was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. We tried nearly the entire menu between all of us. Frog legs, snails, cassoulet, etc. my only real complaint was that because there was six of us gratuity was automatically added to the bill and unbeknownst to us we paid the total and added our own gratuity. We did not notice this until we got home. I don't even disagree with this practice, just would like to see it clearly stated somewhere.
google avatar

Rich R.

Yelp
Tiny place so reservations are recommended. Excellent food and the service was friendly. It is a BYOB, prices are reasonable for the quality food served. Very pleasant, but we had to move away from one side table because the AC was blowing strongly over us and would cool the food. That is an easy fix and should be attended to asap, otherwise we will be back again soon.
google avatar

Mac C.

Yelp
Best restaurant, best chef, best food in Haddonfield! You can tell the chef takes great pride in his cuisines. Highly recommend!

Melinda D.

Yelp
First of all, want to say food was amazing! The ambience was beautiful! Thought this was a new French restaurant that was going to be our "go to" restaurant. There was a 10$ reservation fee per person, plus a $1 service fee -- but paid it since the site stated, the deposit would come off on your bill. At the end of our meal, I asked about our deposit and the server explained that it would come automatically back to our card. I checked my account that evening and much to my dismay, the fee was subtracted from my bank account (used a debit card), and not put back. I called the restaurant after hours and spoke to one of the chefs --he was extremely rude, yelling and screaming at me that I am not special and I'm like everyone else and I have to wait until he gets to do the deposit returns. I explained that the website stated "the fee will be deducted from the final bill." The next day, I received an email of apology and that they changed their deposit policy. I also received another email stating that I would receive free dessert on the next visit! For me, there will be no next visit!! Too bad, the food was amazing!
google avatar

Nick D.

Yelp
Great little Byob. Food and service to notch. Had frog legs and duck frites. Both were very good.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
A quaint space with food that has wonderful flavors. From appetizers to dessert, we weren't disappointed. Will definitely be back again!

Claire V.

Yelp
Wonderful, intimate French restaurant with delicious food. My husband and I had a great experience and the food exceeded our expectations. Service was excellent and pace of our meal was perfect.
google avatar

Peter C.

Yelp
The food and service was very good but the 3 stars are due to the over priced menu. I understand being in the food industry how much products cost and the menu is costed out very high.
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
Got lucky enough to get a reservation here the third day this French Bistro has been opened and I'm glad I got a seat! All four dishes were amazing, fulling, and satisfying. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for amazing farm to table french food. Only six tables so get your reservations early! This is the Hearthside of Haddonfield.

Jackie O.

Yelp
My favorite place in the world - and I have lived here, Chicago and LA. Lichtenstein is a genius

Yelp
Had dinner here last week. We ordered a lot of different things on the menu and everything was delicious. Staff was incredibly nice. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Cristen S.

Yelp
So happy that little hen opened again! My husband and I came for dinner tonight and it was nothing short of amazing. We started with the cheese board which came with a homemade blueberry jam that was out of this world. For our main courses we split the steak frites and the chicken Provençal - both dishes were perfectly cooked and distinctly delicious. We chose the ratatouille and cauliflower gratin as our side dishes and they were a perfect compliment to our main courses. We couldn't decide on a dessert so we ordered all three (the pot du creme, Mille fois and carrot cake) and we are so happy we did. Seriously everything here is outstanding!
google avatar

Charles K.

Yelp
The little hen is closed like many other restaurants. They have serviced a prefix take out menu and it was was excellent. Can't wait to see what this week will bring.
google avatar

Yelp
We had the most wonderful meal while dining outside recently. The food and service were both amazing. Definitely lived up to expectations. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Truly amazing food. The cheese plate was Devine and generous. Duck was cooked perfectly and the mushroom toast was amazing, I wish I could order it daily.
google avatar

Yelp
The owner put so much thought into the menu, everything I've eaten there is so delicious! My top favorites are the duck frittes and mushroom toast...both a must-try!! Great staff, service and atmosphere as well.

Yelp
Loved the place with excellent food- the recommended cheese plate and the duck dish were both phenomenal! Seemed like they had worked out the kinks the few of the previous reviewers had mentioned. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
We had a great meal at The Little Hen! The highlight? Duck Frites! What a great take on a classic French dish! The spot is tiny and can be loud but the creative and delicious food more than makes up for that. From the folks that brought us Two Fish. Worth the trip to Haddonfield Philly peeps.
google avatar

Lynn W.

Yelp
Went here last week for dinner by myself. Enjoyed every morsel. Duck Frites and mushroom toast were fantastic. Service was also very good. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
You must try this charming French restaurant! Such a lovely experience! We were a party of four about a week after the opening. Everything was delicious! We enjoyed the cheese board, mushroom toast with lardons and goat cheese, and the bread with butter. For our main courses we tried the skate wing, chicken, beef and cassoulet. We shared each other's entrees which were all fantastic. For dessert we shared the pot du creme and the crepe dessert with a French press. Cannot wait to visit again. The service was attentive. For an 18 seat room, it felt spacious. Don't miss this adorable, inventive kitchen!

This is a perfect little French bistro right in Downtown Haddonfield. The ambience is utterly charming - every detail adds to the experience. We had the escargot, which was amazing and served with a delicious persillade sauce. The skate wing was perfectly prepared with butter and capers and the cassoulet was spot on with delectable portions of duck and sausage. The accompaniments were both generous and inventive - be sure to try the cauliflower au gratin and the carrots with pistachios. The service is beyond compare. Secure your reservation soon - I know I will!

Yelp
This is an excellent addition to the Haddonfield restaurant scene! I have been here twice and the second time was 100x better than the first, not that the first was bad by any measure. We ordered quite a bit of food so I wont list it here but every single thing was just fantastic! The second time we were seated outside which was very nice as the restaurant is small and the kitchen is smack in the middle. So we left smelling like all the things that they were cooking much like you would if you cooked several steaks, ducks, etc in your own home. All in all, we will be back again!
