Intimate, narrow eatery serving breakfast by day, plus spirits & innovative cocktails by night.
"One benefit of going to a bar inside what is essentially the South Street Seaport’s premier bodega? Apps that consist of Pringles and gummy bears. Behind a sliding door in the back of their modest convenience store, The Little Shop has a speakeasy-style bar with a handful of tables and a small fleamarket’s worth of mismatched rugs and armchairs. It’s a good, mellow place to drink something intricate with a date. Try the cocktail made with rum and banana, and pair it with some Sour Patch Kids. All the snacks you see up front can be plated for a 20% surcharge." - bryan kim, sonal shah
"This shop in the South Street Seaport is, in fact, very little, and sells a random assortment of products on metal storage racks. If you’re running low on Bugles and toilet paper, it’s worth a pitstop, but the main draw is the bar hidden in the back. Behind a sliding door, you’ll find an equally small room with fringed lamps, mismatched rugs, and dates hunched over coffee tables discussing next steps. Try a rum-and-banana cocktail that somehow translates to apple juice, or get the house Black Russian with an inch-thick layer of whipped coconut cream. The latter would pair well with a bag of Tate’s cookies, which you can make happen. Pick any snack—Haribo gummy bears, say—from the store up front, and they’ll plate it for a 20% surcharge." - Bryan Kim
