Michelin-Starred Restaurants run by Husband-and-Wife Teams

"This tiny, ten-seater restaurant is the realisation of a lifelong dream for chef-owner Ben Crittenden. Before opening, he spent over a year refurbishing it with his father’s help – and his wife Sophie supported him every step of the way. Ben’s two passions in life are cooking and his family; in fact it was his desire to spend more time with his wife and their daughters which led the couple to decide to open the restaurant back in December 2016. ‘Good food laid bare’ is their slogan and both the restaurant and the cooking have a stripped-back style. The regularly changing menu offers six no-choice courses and dishes are skilfully crafted, with bold flavours and plenty of personality. Sophie provides the service (nipping behind the counter to help Ben when needed!) but has recently taken a step back due to the birth of their son at the end of 2019. Congratulations!" - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

We had a fabulous meal at this beautiful little restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious! We especially recommend the duck breast starter, insane! The restaurant is exquisitely decorated and feels so cosy and welcoming. We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.

I kept driving past this restaurant and telling my partner ‘next time we should go’ - for some reason, 9 months passed since we moved to Kent and we seemed to have settled for a better known italian restaurant in the area that I won’t name. Finally we got around eating at The Little Sicilian and the whole experience felt absolutely lovely and pretty special, due to the beautiful setting and a table at the back (some sort of ‘booth’ made of wood) which made our stay feel intimate and cosy, perfect for a date with your partner. The food was very very good, staff were incredibly helpful and were always around to help and assist. My dessert was amazing, I always order Panna Cotta and never really had one that was this amazing here in the UK. We got complimentary limoncello at the end, which made us feel well looked after and appreciated. Wine was also great: not every place offers carafes for those who drink just a bit more than a glass, but not enough to buy a full bottle. I look forward to going back and trying the fish and the meat also. All in all, a very nice experience, great atmosphere, great staff, and really good authentic italian food

A cosy fish restaurant with friendly service. Good food although some preparation lacked a bit of finesse. Reasonable prices.
