The mid-century modern, Eisenhower-era decor is an unexpected and intriguing change from the Old South architecture of Historic Charleston.
Searching for a happy hour with refreshing drinks after a long walk from Market Steet, I wandered inside and spotted The Living Room. I settled back into an attractive, low-legged orange velvet chair and took my chances on a margarita. After a run of bad takes on this classic drink, it was dice roll for me. Well, I won. The complementary candied popcorn had a kick of spice, something I wouldn't have ordered but glad I experienced.
In all, The Living Room's low key, 1950s classy style makes it a perfect choice for the well-dressed happy hour group and the parched solo sipper.
