Lobby Bar At Hotel Cheslea Review - Chelsea - New York - The Infatuation

"Lobby Bar in Hotel Chelsea looks like the elaborate foyer of a chateau that was last renovated in the 1970s. There are rugs, couches, and cheetah print chairs, and you’ll see a big chandelier hanging above the long marble bar. It feels like the kind of place where your boss’s boss would grab a drink with their art advisor, and it’s a nice escape where you won’t hear any music, only bits of conversation from people wearing thick-rimmed glasses. Claim a barstool or a couch in the fern-lined garden room, and drink a house martini made with minimal vermouth and a to-the-brim pour of ice-cold gin or vodka. It’ll hit you fast, so get some fries to eat on the side, or plan an after-drinks dinner at next door." - Bryan Kim

Very cozy lounge/bar area inside the ludlow hotel. Came here after dinner to get dessert and a drink. The lemon tart paired very well with the espresso martini. Our server, ?Colleen, was very hospitable!

we popped in because I read something recently about a martini that takes this bar two weeks to prepare.... unfortunately the bartender was not aware of this fact. perhaps the story in timeout was old? this is a small bar inside of a hotel lobby basically, The seats could not be more uncomfortable. The bartender was super sweet and we enjoyed dirty martinis that were "frozen" but it was basically just a martini made with a very cold mix that was pre-made and put in the refrigerator. deviled egg was delicious the scallop dish as well. the ambiance is just way off and not comfortable.

Calm and chill vibes! Great music, nice waitstaff and great drinks. I would love a couple of more small bites options on the menu. I would definitely return.

The Ludlow Hotel's Lobby Bar is chic and comfy. Beautifully and eclectically decorated in the style of Mid Century Modern Brazilian designer Percival Lafer its interior is unique; low slung sofas and chairs in a variety of shapes and configurations create a puzzle-like floor plan and so many options means you can nearly always find a spot. Look up to admire the wood beamed ceiling and chandeliers. If you don't already feel like you're cool everyday, you are definitely cool when you're here. The drinks menu is exhaustive however the food menu is very limited. Absolutely worth stopping in for a drink when in the neighborhood.

Another hidden downtown treasure is the Lobby Bar at the Brown Hotel. Everything is great and the Hot Brown is a much try! All the food on the menu taste great and the food is the very consistent. The Lobby Bar offer a casual dining experience on the second floor of the Brown Hotel. If you want a more fine dining menu with the comfort of the Lobby Bar space, ask to see if they English Grill menu is available (which it usually is).

I have given this lobby bar so many chances and it continues to fail. I live in the neighborhood and love to stop in here to the cozy lobby bar - I consistently send my parents here to stay when they visit, however, this 3 strikes and you’re out. Don’t bother going here unless you’re a vip hotel guest. I waited around for 10 minutes to get noticed and was then directed to a hotel guest table and then when I ordered told I couldn’t sit there. The waitress was extremely unaccomodating and unfortunately this is 3rd time this has happened to my husband and I when we come here - we get told by one waitress we can sit at the table then get told no. Extremely unprofessional service and team here. Last time we will be here and no longer sending guests here.

Was sad to hear the manager has turned this lovely and relaxing lobby area into a brunch only spot on weekend afternoons. My husband, friends, and I have been coming here for years to sip tea or cocktails by the fireplace (most recently, a few weeks ago). There is a fantastic restaurant in the next room for a more comfortable brunch experience, so this came as a surprise. There were mostly empty tables, but we had to leave, as we were not looking for a meal. Fingers crossed they change the policy, as there are many of us in the neighborhood who want to remain regulars.

Quite bizarre, been coming here every once in a while. But today got ignored by a waitress for about 15 minutes. Just watched her in no hurry serving 2 tables around me. Didn’t get the menu, or a nod, so I... left.
