The Best Lobster Rolls in Portland, Maine | Bon Appétit

"A rustic seaside shack set between two lighthouses with sweeping coastal views, this no-frills spot draws long but fast-moving summer lines. The preparation keeps things simple—a split-top bun, chilled lobster meat with just a dollop of mayonnaise and a pickle slice—so the sweetness of the lobster shines. Guests often grab a seat at the highly Instagrammable red picnic tables and explore the nearby rocks while they wait, and a slice of the famous blueberry pie makes for a classic finish." - ByBriana Bononcini

10 Best Places for Lobster Rolls in Portland, Maine | Condé Nast Traveler

"Lobster Shack at Two Lights is unassuming, with an outdoor dining area right on the rocky coast and some of the best views of the ocean in the state. Come for the lobster dinners and lobster rolls: the former are ample, with a liberal amount of meat and a dollop of mayo, the latter garnished with the signature pickle chip. Lobster rolls notwithstanding, it's impossible to be disappointed by the views." - Joe Ricchio

Google
We were looking for a quick bite to eat and stumbled upon this spot, which had been recommended by our family in South Portland, Maine. When we arrived, we were greeted by a stunning view from the outdoor seating area. We ordered a variety of dishes to sample, and everything was absolutely delicious. Since it was a bit warm outside, we chose to eat indoors, where the atmosphere was cool and comfortable. It provided a perfect place to sit back and relax for a few minutes before heading to our next destination. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and a relaxing environment.

Google
lovely dinner with the family. enjoyed every second of it! sat out at the tables where we overlooked the ocean with amazing lobster rolls, lobster, and all sorts of fried food. the wait in line went semi quickly and was well worth the wait. we also got whoopie pies and boy, were they special. excellent! will come back when we come to Maine again. :)

Google
Incredibly beautiful and scenic place to eat as much fresh lobster as you can. The restaurant overlooks the ocean, and the adventurous can scramble down the rocks to the water without much difficulty. The food is excellent, with delicious clam chowder and, of course, fantastically fresh lobster. Hard to beat such a scenic location and delicious food—also very family friendly. Highly recommend!

Google
Eating at this lobster shack is definitely worth it for the food and setting. The shack sits on the rocky coastline and has several tables. Walk on the rocks and explore the shoreline. Two lighthouses can be viewed with a short walk down the beach. A heavy fog rolled in during our visit and we only caught a glimpse of one lighthouse. It was so beautiful and mysterious! We had already had lobster previously in Bar Harbour, so we ordered and shared a Haddock plate, a Shrimp plate, and an order of onion rings. Fantastic! (Two of our boys ordered burgers and they enjoyed those.) We also tried the strawberry rhubarb pie. It was not my personal favorite but my teenage son loved the sour vs. sweet of the rhubarb and strawberry. I have read some negative reviews as far as price. However, after having just spent several days in Bar Harbour, Acadia, and several other costal towns, the prices at this lobster shack were actually fairly reasonable in comparison. For what we paid for a lobster meal at a sit-down Bar Harbour restaurant, here we could have purchased the lobster meal plus one extra lobster! Our fish and shrimp were so fresh!

Google
Big place, plenty of tables, parking was ok (although not extremely big). But for the food (very general order, nothing special, lobster roll, clam boat, lobster salad and onion rings, it was not busy, only a few customers) we waited a very long time and the result was very bad and with bad results after that. Bad food, the portion of lobster was tiny, the lobster was cold from the fridge and tasteless, the coleslaw smelled. The only good thing was the onion rings and fries. The only good thing is the location. Beautiful view. But that is definitely not a reason to visit...

Google
I feel like this place is a 3-star overall, based on the expectations and the price you pay. Was it good? Sure, it was fine. Was it worth $110 for 2 people to eat? Good lord no. Parking - pretty difficult. The lot was jam packed and we had to wait on the road for a spot to open. I'm sure the neighbors hate this but I guess this is what Maine is going to be like for 3 months a year. Granted it was a Saturday, if I'm being fair. So not the best day to go. Service is slow. We waited in line for 45 minutes. No other way to say that. Service was friendly enough. While the overall is slow the girl at the register was friendly, even though it's obviously a mad house on the weekends. Prices are absurd. I get that you're paying for the experience but my gosh, $30 for friend clams? When did this happen? The lobster is market price which basically means 4x what you would pay at the market for it. The butter they served with this was bland, almost unsalted. The lobster roll, while pricey, was quite excellent. Clams were very good, for the record. Fries were bad. The biscuit was inedible. Just throw it at the seagulls. The coleslaw was offensive, as others have noted. It tasted rancid. The view from this location is fabulous. Can't argue with that. Might as well try it if you're here. I would suggest a weekday, however. Yes, it was the busiest day of the week in the summer. But this was the only day we could come to Portland so it is what it is. Would I go back? Probably not, as I would try some other places first.

Google
Awesome. Great location on the water. Bit different being at the end of a residential location. I like that you can walk right out from the outdoor seating area onto the rocks and thw water. Got lobster rolls, fries, and dessert. All yummy =]

Google
Food was very good! We try a lobster roll at many different locations when we return to Maine to visit family so we can note our favorites. On this trip, this was our favorite...although, we removed the pickle and mixed the mayo into our lobster. Clams were also very good. It was a very warm day but, being this close to the water at 6 pm, I wish I had worn a sweatshirt, sweater or light jacket just while eating.

Yelp
The prime location to enjoy some lobster. Blades of dark, mountainous rock decline into the gorgeous ocean. No better scenery, especially at sunset. The food, however, didn't live up to the hype. The lobster roll was presented well, but the taste didn't wow me. The fried clams were pretty standard, and the lobster stew wasn't good at all. In fact, it made my partner sick, which really sucked. It's a shame because this place came highly recommended. Maybe they were having an off day... who knows.

Yelp
Not an exaggeration when I say this might be the most spectacular casual dining setting I've ever experienced. And here's the kicker: You're eating in a parking lot! But not just any parking lot--this one is perched on the edge of a cliff with jaw-dropping views of the ocean and two lighthouses. Yes, two! Even if the food were mediocre (spoiler: it's not), this spot is worth the trip just for the scenery. We hit this gem on a weekday in the fall, which was basically New England weather perfection. It was a little windy, but still warm enough to eat outside--in October--in Maine. The inside was packed, and since we were a party of six, I wasn't looking forward to the battle for seating. But no worries! There were plenty of picnic tables outside. Just watch out for the seagulls--they see you coming, and they know the food is just as good as you do. They're ready to pounce on your fried clams if you let your guard down. I went for the fried clam roll, and we shared some onion rings on the side. And let me tell you, the coleslaw with the little bit of apple? Perfect "healthy" touch to convince myself I was being balanced. Overall, spectacular view, solid food, and one of the best parking lot dining experiences you'll ever have!

Yelp
Visiting The Lobster Shack was a childhood tradition for me but it has always been a great time when visiting as an adult. We often like to come a little early to climb around on the rocks and listen to the ocean waves. It's a great place to relax or let the kids explore. After, we make our way over and ordered a couple of lobster boats which were lobster rolls (topped with mayo and a pickle) and fries. The food came out quickly and was tasty! They have a large outdoor seating area were you can eat and look out at the ocean. We came at a slightly off time so the line was short. During peak seasons, likely expect harder parking and longer ordering lines!
google avatar

Kelsey R.

Yelp
The ambiance is 10/10 overlooking the cliffs and the water. We had two lobster rolls which were very good, but I didn't like the dollop of mayo. Either omit it or mix the lobster in it already. Lobster was very fresh. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating

Yelp
This is a spot where the atmosphere really fills in the gaps. The food itself is good, but not amazing. For the price, I expected a bit more in terms of quantity. The lobster roll, fries, and coleslaw are $30; the size is okay for an average lunch, but you will likely be a little hungry afterward. In terms of quality, I'd say this is as good as any other lobster roll. The fries are crispy and well-seasoned, but I wish there were more of them. The real gem of this place is that it's right on the water with ample picnic-style seating, and right next to a wonderful park. Worth dining here if you are in the area checking out the scenery. Value: 3/5 Quality: 4/5 Quantity: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

Yelp
I love seafood, but not lobster (my family wants to disown me, i think). They are many options here that are not lobster. The clam chowder and fisherman plate were amazing and filling. I love scallops and shrimp especially and clam chowder. The fried clams and haddock were also very good. I have already recommended this place to someone heading to the area soon.

Yelp
Favorite restaurant in the US hands down. Beautiful connection bewtween to go restaurant and nature. Each time i visit my family and I hang out on the rocks overlooking the ocean until our food is ready-in which we enjoy at the picnic tables. Great sunset spot in the area!
google avatar

Jess B.

Yelp
The view here is unmatched - absolutely spectacular! Coming here at sunset was the best decision. It was busy but we still got a table. We came towards the end of the summer season so it was very chilly with the wind but thankfully we planned ahead. There is also a good chunk of indoor seating and handicap seating. You order inside and they call your number when ready. The food was amazing. It was slightly expensive with what I consider small portions for seafood compared to some other local spots. The atmosphere was great - everyone was so happy to be there. From families to couples to groups of friends, it was great. You can bring your own booze which is a nice perk as they don't sell any on the property. There is a lot of parking available. They have a ton of homemade desserts. We got the strawberry shortcake which was delicious. We got the shrimp and chicken boats which were also so good. I would definitely come back here. Even for the views alone!

Yelp
This is THE place my friend couldn't wait to bring me to on my first trip to Maine however she made it clear it was because of the views and not that it's her favorite lobster. I waited so long so I was very hungry and wanted to try a variety so I asked for a warm lobster roll with butter and a cold roll with light mayo. The kid at the register charged me for a third roll so he started over and when he did he put in the incorrect order. After some back-and-forth I got the warm roll and the cold roll I got had a scoop of mayo on top, not mixed in. I had never seen this before and asked the woman what it's about and she said I can mix in as much as I want. For $25 a roll I shouldn't have to make my own. What a turn off! I took it outside and had a seat over the outstandingly stunning view. The warm roll was good but not at all as good as I expected and with the cold roll the lobster was a bit overcooked and chewy. The food was a disappointment but at least the views were not.

Yelp
The lobster shack gives off tourist vibes for sure. It's pricey (as is everything in Maine), but you're paying for the atmosphere. Having lunch on a picnic table by the ocean is unbeatable. The views are spectacular and the rocks are truly awesome to look at. Hearing waves crash as you dig in to a lobster is pretty enjoyable. I strongly and highly recommend their desserts. Their whoopie pie literally to die-for and their rhubarb strawberry pie was heaven. I will definitely come back over and over again to enjoy some fresh seafood and delicious desserts with a view!

Yelp
Our first visit to Maine wouldn't have been complete without a stop at Lobster Shack at Two Lights, and it did not disappoint! Our host recommended it as a must-visit, and we can see why. We all had the fish and chips, and they were fantastic--the fish was light and flaky, and the batter was perfectly crispy and hot. We also tried a whoopie pie, which we learned is a Maine specialty, and it was light, fluffy, and absolutely delicious. The staff was efficient and friendly, and the dining area was decked out in all things nautical, giving us a true taste of Maine's coastal charm. A great introduction to the state and its flavors--highly recommend!

Yelp
The view of the water is so beautiful and relaxing. They have plenty of tables outside and a few indoors. The service was quick and easy. They had a speaker outside announcing order numbers that were ready to pick up, so you could enjoy the view while waiting. The fries were crunchy and the lobster tasted really fresh. However, the lobster roll was a bit underwhelming and the coleslaw was not good at all. This is the first time I have never finished a side of coleslaw because of how bad it was. It tasted extremely sweet, felt like I was eating apples with mayo.
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
This was our first stop on our food tour of the Portland area, and they set the bar high! The food was amazing, and the atmosphere was fun, and unique, but the views stole the show! We tried the Fish Burger, and the Clam Burger, as well as the Grape Nut Pudding. All were unique and delicious, and we really wanted more, but as I say we knew it was only our first stop.

Yelp
I LOVE the Lobster Shack at Two Lights. The lobster roll, fried clams, and blueberry pie are all excellent. However, you might wonder: what makes this place special? Why waste a drive out to Two Lights State Park for food I can get nearly anywhere else in Maine? The answer lies in the beautiful view, the classic red benches, and the sea cliffs. Nowhere else in the area even compares. Prepare yourself for long lines, but I think the wait is worth every minute. Can't wait to head back this summer!
google avatar

Nat A.

Yelp
Great views of the Atlantic. Rock cliffs. Parking is a dirt lot. Expect buddy conditions if the weather is wet. Inside seating is available. Outside seating is more ample with picnic tables. Some with umbrellas. Surprisingly, birds were not an issue. There was a store/gift shop, but we did not visit. Food prices seem comparable to oat seafood places in main. Crab roll was substantial and tasty. Lobster roll as underwhelming. Had we known would have passed on the dollop of mayo dressing. Fries were ample. Fried clams were substantial and tasty. Slaw was right out of the container, still we were glad to have it as a veggie. A little Old Bay seasoning would have been nice. I'd return for the clams and crab roll. Food was prepared quickly. Order at the counter and they call you for pick up when it is ready. If the line is long you will be standing outside waiting to order. Keep this in mind in inclement weather.
google avatar

Alexa H.

Yelp
Not gonna lie - didn't like that much. Staff was great! The view is beautiful. Kinda it. Just paying for the "Maine experience". More of a once kinda thing. Fries were so good tho! The whoopie pie was good too!
google avatar

Roma S.

Yelp
Phenomenal view and ample parking spot. Loved the huge lobsters but was not to happy with their fried seafood platter. I guess I was expecting it to be as spectacular as their lobster. Totally my fault. Note to self, when the restos' name is Lobster, don't order anything else on the menu.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
Long line but great lobster stew, my friend got a strawberry shortcake! Both delicious! I think what makes this place great is the location although it does get packed because of the popularity. It's right by the water! Bring your own beer or wine! I wish we would've known beforehand.
google avatar

Joel S.

Yelp
You can't beat the location- outdoors, on the water. There are plenty of shaded picnic tables. There's a small dining room. Service is efficient. The food is very good. The lobster rolls are moderately priced and moderately sized. They're served with a dollop of mayonnaise on top so that you can add as much or as little as you like to your lobster. The fried clams were very good. We split an excellent slice of homemade strawberry rhubarb pie for dessert. Quintessential Maine seafood joint experience in a beautiful location.
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
Outstanding lobster rolls and reasonably priced. The fried clams were good but nothing special. Hate to break it to my neighbors to the north in Maine, Massachusetts Ipswich clams are far better. Not close. The onion rings were pretty good. Probably the best view of any lobster shack in the world.
google avatar

Kerrie D.

Yelp
I've lived in Maine for over 30 years. I've been to many many lobster establishments in Southern Maine and like, if not love many of them. Some for their chowder, or the way they fry their fish, or their generous lobster roll. With all of that said, nobody can touch the Lobster Shack's specialty, with is their LOCATION!! A wide open view of the rocky coast with plenty of outdoor tables even makes waiting in the (long) line to get in, a more than pleasant experience. The food is certainly good enough, and in no way any more expensive than most of their peers. Highlights for me are their fried scallops and sometimes they have grape nut pudding!!!!! Overall, whether you are a local or just in town for a few hours, The Lobster Shack is 100% worth the trip!!
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
Hard to beat the location and how fresh the lobster roll is. Grab to eat outside on their tables right next to the sea and stay to hike around the various rock and tide pools around
google avatar

Robb T.

Yelp
Come for the food and stay for the view! Tucked away in Cape Elizabeth, ME is this wonderful seafood restaurant with a spectacular view. Have some faith in your GPS as it leads you down the dead end that is Two Lights Rd, as at the very end stands this cozy shack with plenty of seafood goodness. The service is simple - you order at the counter and they call out your number when it's ready, no need for waitresses who are too busy to refill your drinks! I came for the lobster dinner (market price $35.99 as of April 2023) which comes with a whole lobster, fries, coleslaw, and 2 biscuits. Don't hold me to this, but I don't think they put any special seasoning in their lobster boil. The lobster comes out unadorned with any spice or Old Bay here. What you get is pure sweet lobster you can dip in butter. Crinkle cut fries were well-seasoned and crispy, the coleslaw was fresh but a little bland (I'm used to sweeter coleslaw), and the biscuits were oddly flat. The rest of the family, not being seafood people, ordered cheeseburgers (read that sentence with an eye roll). The best part was truly the view. Parking is for customers only, so it's a small price to pay to park here, have some good food, and just sit and watch the endless sea. The kids and I spent awhile walking around on the rocks. It's a memory we'll cherish forever.

Larry R.

Yelp
Ambiance is lovely the views are amazing the people in the restaurant are very nice . The prices are high and that's fine but the food was just fair . How's it possible to serve luke warm Clam Chowder and cold fried clams and fried haddock ! It's practically impossible because it's just pick up service no waiters or waitresses . If you can not serve hot fried food than close the door !
google avatar

Ellen J.

Yelp
The scenery was amazing. $60 for two very bland tasting lobster rolls and a plate of fries? I'm visiting from out of state and maybe I expected more of the famous lobster roll? There was a huge glob of mayonnaise on the top that I had to wipe off. Beautiful view!
google avatar

Denise A.

Yelp
Hands down, this is my favorite place in ME to get a lobster roll. Understand that MP (market price) changes daily for lobster and most seafood and anytime you see this most often indicates fresh...and this is what you want to see. Particularly with lobster. When I dine out, if there is not a MP it tells me the stuff is either frozen, less than fresh, or reduced to get rid off. With that being said, my lobster roll was a MP of 29.99 on 9/5/2023 (that included fries and slaw). ( I heard whispers and shouts that this was a small lobster roll, but it is jammed packed and when you eat it you will see). Check out any other MP lobster rolls in the area on this day and they are comparable or more expensive. If you are getting your lobster roll at McDonald's or anywhere else without a MP, well it is not fresh and that is why it is cheaper. It also tastes way less satisfying. Way way less. But like everything else, there are choices. Besides the fresh jammed packed succulent meat lobster roll at this location, there is the VIEW. There is the sight of boats and birds on the sea, the foghorn sounding, the smell of saltwater with cool breezes, the sounds of the waves crashing on the rugged rocks. And the lighthouses. Intoxicating, invigorating and so calming all at the same time. The fries are always tasty, coleslaw is a tad sweet with a welcomed crunchy consistency; the desserts are excellent, my new favorite being the blueberry crumble pie made with wild ME blueberries. Heaven. Really. Service was great, views spectacular, and the food fresh and wonderful. This is a true Maine experience which satisfies all off the senses. Only 2 restrooms and a tight little parking area, but it is all worth it.

Amber H.

Yelp
The food was delicious, but the scenery was even better! Having our lunch while we watched the waves roll in was such a beautiful and relaxing experience.

Charlie D.

Yelp
We tried three seafood stands recently. Of the three, this one had great scenery, terrible food. Tasteless. My wife is a clam cake expert. She said they were dry and tasteless. My fried clams were the same. Tiny, over cooked fries, some kind of dry biscuit. Coleslaw was ok. It's been many years since we came here, did not miss much in terms of food. Ocean view was amazing. The best seafood place that we found was on route one entering Kennebunk...Ocean Roll. A basic food truck. Second one was in Cape Porpoise. Mediocre at best.

Shannon H.

Yelp
This was the most ridiculous lobster roll I've ever seen. The only good thing was the view, and it was beautiful. It took forever to get our food. The guy taking our order told us a lot of their stuff is frozen, not fresh. I do not recommend. Drive a bit north to Red's Eats!

Yelp
I was very pleasantly surprised with my recent visit to the lobster shack!!! My friend and I came at 5:30 on a Tuesday in mid-May, hoping we wouldn't have to fight crowds... and we were happy to arrive to just a few cars in the lot. Ordering was kind of stressful because there was only one group in front of us we simply didn't have a ton of time to review the menu! Luckily we were on the same page and wanted to share everything, so we went with a lobster roll and a fisherman's platter and two sodas which put us back $78 which is just about what you should expect for any of the seafood places in and around Portland. Plus you're paying a little extra for the spectacular view! The fisherman's platter was awesome!!! Lots of fried baby shrimp, whole belly clams, fish, and scallops. Plus fries, coleslaw and little biscuits. It was perfect for sharing (if i had been starving it may have been slightly small to share for a meal). The lobster roll was fine. I don't get the glob of mayo, but once we took a bunch of it off and then mixed the rest into the meat it was tasty. Next time I'll definitely opt for a repeat of the fried seafood! They are BYOB so I brought some wine for us to share while we enjoyed our meal. Overall I'd highly recommend a visit- if you can find some off hours, then even better! One thing to note- it's about 10 degrees cooler on the water than it is downtown in Portland, so definitely bring a layer or two if you plan to dine outside in the evening in late spring / early summer.

Yelp
Lunch at the Lobster Shack is a treat. We arrived early to gaze at the ocean and watch the waves breaking on the rocks. The restaurant opens at noon. But today we heard over the loud speaker, We Are Open! It was 11:30! We smiled and headed for the entrance. I thanked them and they said there were set up and ready for the day. Now that's customer service. We ordered the haddock boat, the scallop boat and two clam cakes. Fresh, fast, and delicious. Included with our order was cole slaw and French fries. Looking forward to our next visit.

Jan M.

Yelp
Very popular restaurant. Nice indoor and outdoor dining spaces and wonderful seafood. Had my first lobster roll here. Despite a big crowd, service was very good. Prices are reasonable. The desserts are homemade and tasty. A couple of us shared a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie.
google avatar

Julia W.

Yelp
The Lobster Shack is located right on the coast, which makes for beautiful views while eating. Service is fairly slow during the lunch rush, but the views kept us occupied. We ordered the crab roll and the shrimp plate. I would definitely make sure to order an additional dish if you're just eating the crab roll - the portion is quite small but the crab is extremely fresh. The shrimp plate was good, but nothing special. The fries were pretty good, but the coleslaw was great. Overall, it was a great trip out for the views and fresh crab!

Jen K.

Yelp
Lobster and fried shrimp were great! Restaurant has indoor tables and tons of picnic tables outside with the most amazing beach view! Unfortunately it was a long wait for the lobster dinner to be prepared.

Michael L.

Yelp
Best view in Maine for a lobster shack. Indoors or out, can't be beat. Despite crowds, service is quick, efficient- A Maine tradition. A+

Michael S.

Yelp
Was nearby (was referred to come here (thanks son)) and decided to stop by and I am glad I did. They have been in business for over 55 years at the same location. Service was friendly and order completed correctly. Room for large parties outside. We had whole lobsters and the sides for a plate (fries, Cole slaw, and biscuits). Recommend getting the extra lobster if sharing instead of two full plates as there is a lot of food. The view is worth an extra tip. I would highly recommend eating here. If nearby give it a try. Enjoy!!

Yelp
Great little place at Cape Elizabeth. Picnic tables with a view of the ocean. Great cool breeze from the ocean. The food was delicious. We had the crab meat bowls and chicken bowl. All came with fries and coleslaw. The drinks were refillable. And water cups are free. The place was hopping for lunch. And when we left around 430, the line was starting to form again for dinner
google avatar

Alexis C.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Thursday and I was just barely able to find a table inside. The place is not a huge establishment, probably seats maybe 50 or less inside total? And there's 2 single person bathrooms, one for women and one for men. Food-wise we ordered 2 lobster roll boats and 1 crab boat. Each boat comes with a side of coleslaw. The lobster boat was sweet and the crab boat was not as fresh so it tasted fishy. Not really my favorite, I don't think I'd come back here.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way through Maine and we're not disappointed. We were able to explore the nearby beach and rocky area while waiting. The view from the restaurant is fantastic. We got the lobster rolls, fried clams, and clam chowder. All the food was so fresh and tasty, even better when enjoying the view from the outside seating area!

Yelp
While we were looking for the Cape Elizabeth twin lighthouses, we found this great place on the rocks in Cape Elizabeth. Just stopped in and enjoyed a great bowl of clam chowder by the ocean...

Food is good. It's about the same as you'd eat anywhere. But, its in about the best location you could ever ask for. So if you're looking to eat a lobster roll or some friend fish in an incredibly beautiful location, then come here. The wait was reasonable, plenty of tables, and wonderful view.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst lobster dinner we've ever had. Basically, $93 for 2 orders of fries and 1 chowder. The lobsters had a strange smell to them and were inedible. We threw both of them away as they were obviously cooked multiple times. The meat was so dry it crumbled from the lobster. Awful. I was so mad, we just left so I wouldn't make a scene. Avoid this place, it's just not worth the high prices. $38+ for each barely 1 lb lobster, with fries and two silver dollar sized flat biscuits. If the food was perfectly cooked, I would have left content since we just drove from Boston and were really hungry. There's no excuse for serving such garbage at such a high price. This is the first time in my life that I did not finish my lobster. That's how bad it was. And it was smaller than a chicken lobster.

Yelp
Despite being in pricey Perkins Cove, the prices here for excellent lobster are very reasonable. The chowder is also excellent.

Yelp
The best lobster roll in the Portland area in my opinion. We had lobster rolls at several places while on vacation and this place had thebest one. Great view of the ocean. We could pick a better view for our lunch. When I ordered, the lady was very nice. This is my go to lobster roll place going forward.

Yelp
Love this place!! Simple place with amazing fresh seafood!! Too windy to sit outside but eating inside was great and we could still watch the ocean! Very friendly staff! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
we heard it was good...it was fair. i think we would have had a better evening had it not been socked in with fog and cold! the lobster rolls were very small and the lobster was scarce and tough. we also got clams which were very good, and the onion rings were fabulous. the young man at the counter who waited on us was delightful. if you want lobster, i'm not sure this is the place you want to go.

Yelp
A visit to Cape Elizabeth is a must do if you're in Portland, ME! I enjoyed my lunch comprised of fresh lobster, sides, and yummy desserts while watching the waves crash against the shore. The joint is also BYOB and takes CC so that's another bonus. The only negatives were the clam chowder was bland and thin and the lobster was slightly overcooked (still yummy though). If I lived here, I'd bring my out of town guests here for a meal for sure and then go on some scenic lighthouse hikes nearby!

Yelp
The view is beautiful and it's nice to walk down and explore the tide pools, however the food is mediocre. The lobster roll was meh, not worth its price, basically shedded lobster and mayo on a hotdog bun. The service was good, nice waitress and even though it was busy we got our food pretty quickly. The moonpie was very delicious.

Yelp
We had lunch here today, the line to get in the door to order was about 10-13 deep. The line moved quite fast, the staff was very efficient. I ordered the haddock boat with a side of onion rings. The fish was cooked very nicely but more grease than I like. The onion rings were thin with light coating, just the way I love them. FF and coleslaw were both excellent. We will be taking company there in the future.
