Where to Actually Eat on Catalina Island This Summer | Eater LA

"In a nautical, watery-blue room with fish hanging from the ceiling, Lobster Trap serves big seafood platters that I’d call a local must-try: steamed artichoke starters are a specialty, the namesake lobster appears on salads and sandwiches (with Southern California spiny lobsters when in season), there’s a rotating oyster selection served raw or as broiled Oysters Rockefeller, and the menu also includes pastas, burritos, seared ahi tuna, and colorful fruity drinks." - Farley Elliott

We stopped by The Lobster Trap during a day trip to Avalon from our cruise and it did not disappoint! We came specifically for the lobster roll and it was absolutely delicious!! It was totally worth the stop. The staff was wonderful and very friendly, even with kids in tow. The decorations and atmosphere were on point and added to the fun Catalina vibe. A wonderful find in Avalon! Food and service were great so I highly recommend!

Google
Casual spot with excellent service. I originally went there for the spiny lobster(I am from the East Coast)but ended up getting hooked on the shrimp cocktail instead. The house made sauce was delicious: a little tangy with just the right amount of spice, and the avocado and chips paired perfectly with it. The lobster itself was simple and good, steamed and served with butter. I prefer spiny lobster over Boston lobster personally, and no claws to deal with. I’d definitely be a fan if they ever decided to make a lobster cocktail!

Google
A great place to catch some good seafood. Their ambience is great and their service is amicable. We got lobster roll, fish tacos, and clam chowder. The clam chowder was creamy and flavorful. The fish tacos was fresh and juicy and the lobster roll was fresh and juicy. It was hot lobster roll with sourdough with coleslaw. The coleslaw was also fresh and crunchy. The meat was soft and tender. Overall had a great time here.

Google
We loved the lobster trap so much that we had to take a second trip there to eat. The food is so good! Clam chowder was great. Lobster roll was on point. The fish tacos were so big!

Google
Went to Catalina for the half marathon and this restaurant was highly recommended to use. It was the perfect place for pre race food! The food was amazing, I had shrimp pasta. The atmosphere was welcoming and so was the friendly staff. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that goes to Catalina.

Google
The food was amazing!! I had the macadamia nut crusted swordfish and my mom got the lobster. Everything was delicious!! We were joking as to why you even put veggies on the plate because there's so much other food options to eat! The service was very quick and kind!

Google
From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. The staff was warm, attentive, and professional, ensuring every detail was taken care of. Alexander went above and beyond saving the day with his rapid charge phone charger . I was able to charge my phone and make it back to Palm Springs that night . 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The host sat us in the very far left corner where it was very very cramped and the sun was beating down. There was many available tables but I don’t like how we were sat in the worst spot in when it was not busy. We saw other parties of 2 who were sat at bigger tables and with shade not in direct sunlight. However we asked a server and we moved to the bar instead. Katie and Angel were very nice and the food was delicious. The drinks were also amazing. The food did take long to come out but it was worth it. Overall the experience was fine but the host who sat us gave us a bad vibe.

Yelp
The clam chowder was good but the seabass didn't seem like that. It was very dense and didn't at all like a seabass. It didn't taste or flake like a seabass either. I would for sure pass on it.

Yelp
We came here for an afternoon drink and appetizers on a Tuesday. We sat at the bar. What made this experience five stars was how friendly the staff was. We had the jalapeño poppers and coconut shrimp for snacks. The coconut shrimp, especially the sauce that is provided with it, was absolutely delicious. I wish we had more of an appetite to try more of the menu. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

Yelp
Catalina Island doesn't have many restaurants but hey, makes picking a place to eat easier right? So Lobster Trap, despite the name, gives many other yummy options besides lobsters. We got a lobster roll and sea bass and poke dish which kept us quite full during our time on Catalina Island. The poke was seasoned nicely and standard, not much more to it. The lobster roll is very generous with how much lobster they give you, the bread is a little dry and lackluster but hey, we're here for lobster. Not overcooked, the lobster lives up to the restaurant name. The sea bass was nice for its price and you have many ways to prepare it, I wonder if we had not gotten it fried if it'd have been more tender. We got it breaded so it felt a little dry but the sauces made the sea bass a lot better thankfully. Of course, nothing completes this meal out without a nice beer so don't forget that! All in all? This is a good place to eat at before you spend the rest of the day walking around (or golf carting around)!

Yelp
OMG! This place is amazing. First, it is recommended by the locals. While not cheap the food is outstanding, as is the service. Laura was our waiting person, and we got extra attention that was not expected. She made the experience personal and terrific. It is a very relaxed restaurant ambience. We had a local Lobster that was amazing and included stuffing, the monkey balls were delicious, and the ciopino was so flavorful that we couldn't finish it all. The lobster bisque had a huge lobster flavor as well as distinct pieces in it. The clam chowder was possibly the best. Have ever had anywhere. Overall so far this was the most outstanding experience on the island so far for food and drink. Yeah, they have a full bar too. Overall, highly recommended and we will be back before the go.

Yelp
Kind of a tourist trap on the island but what isn't right? Service was great, relaxed cool vibes, but I've had better lobster rolls at their price. They offer different breads for the roll so make sure you ask. There are options on the menu for everyone so this is a decent spot for groups and families. I would rate this place a 3.5.

Yelp
We loved this place because it was tucked on a side street in Catalina avoiding the mad traffic of cruisers (we were one of them). We got here a little early and were seated right away. However, about 45 mins after we got there there was a line outside. It took a bit of time to get our order in and to receive the drinks and food, but once it came it was delicious! I really enjoyed oysters and a lobster roll, the table had poke, other apps, soups and orders from the fish and chip part of the menu. Over all it was lovely lunch.

Yelp
Came by for some lunch on the island and got seated at the bar after about 5-10 minutes so not too bad for ~2pm (late lunch). After a couple minutes we were given menus to browse. We were given waters with the lobster trap logos and told we got to keep them as souvenirs so that was nice. Food took a while to come out even though we saw it waiting at the kitchen table, so slightly cooled down when we got it served. Also while waiting we saw someone squeezing the water out of a bag of lobster which was the same ones in the lobster roll so not super fresh. We ordered the following: - fish & chips 6/10 -- you get three pieces of fried fish, and it comes with either fries or coleslaw. Two of the people in my party got this so we got one of each. Coleslaw was just cabbage and had no flavor at all. Fries were salted but not crispy at all, it was soggy so probably cause it was out for a while just waiting. The fish was crispy but my first bite was all fried batter, too a while to get to the fish but the fish itself was good. Presentation not the best. - calamari appetizer 7/10 -- not bad, comes in rectangle shapes, not what I was thinking cause usually they're circles. It was okay, good flavor but rating was made up by the cocktail sauce. - lobster roll 5/10 -- honestly kinda disappointed. For a place called the lobster trap I thought it was gonna be fresh lobster or have the typical roll bread, esp for the price. it was served on 2 slices of bread with toppings on the slide, which were not good either. The lobster didn't taste good, and was just small chunks, and rubbery. The tomato slide was pretty much the top and didn't taste right. Then for the slide of fries with it, it was just dumped on the plate and also soggy. Ambiance - 8/10 it's nice, they have lots of themed decor which was cute. They have bar seating, table seating, and high table seating. It's also open door so didn't get super cool inside. Kitchen is also open so you can see everything inside. Service - 7/10 they were nice, just had to wave them down to ask something each time (menu, utensils, water, check, etc.) Misc -- you get to keep the water cups as souvenirs so that's nice at least.

Yelp
Food was great, I loved the clam chowder, 10/10 recommend!! Lobster roll was huge.. not really my favorite but it's worth trying. Service was quick. Shooters were good too!
google avatar

Sal C.

Yelp
Best Fish and Chips on island. I also had coconut shrimp and would give it a 3/5 rating. The crunch was there, but not as much flavor with the shrimp.

Joann S.

Yelp
Laura was our server and was pretty nice. I know she had a lot of tables so at times we had to flag the busboy for some water. Our appetizer got to our table at a good time but our entrees took a moment. I must say it was pretty full so understandable for the delay. I enjoyed the Littleneck Clams that we ordered. Very tasty, fresh and hot in temperature. The clams were like a soup that hit perfectly because the AC was blasting in the restaurant so we were all cold. We all ordered the lobster roll sandwich and a cod sandwich. They were good. Nothing out of the ordinary in my opinion. The clams were honestly my favorite because they were flavorful and they came out right away. This place was recommended by several locals but overall I felt this place was decent.

Yelp
Friendly staff and fast service. Mushrooms fried well with the ahi inside. Flavorful and juicy. Quite pricey for this though. Lobster roll was fine. Generous portion. However the fries were a little too soggy and didn't feel fresh. Bread on the pasta was AMAZING. Soft and crispy. Excellent to dip with the pasta.

Yelp
Came here for brunch after walking past and were swayed by the fact that there was no wait (Sunday around 11am). I ordered the waffle with chocolate chips, bacon and eggs over medium. We were seated at the bar area, and the food came out within maybe 10 minutes which was quite fast! The waffle was fluffy on the inside though it could've used more chocolate chips (they only sprinkle them on the top and for $2 extra I expected a little more). The waffle also split in the middle which made it kind of fall apart and was harder to eat so I ended up just grabbing it and eating it with my hands. The eggs were not seasoned at all, which I don't mind, and it paired well with the bacon dipped in the yolks. When we left close to noon, the restaurant did seem to fill up quite a bit and there was a line out the door so I guess we had great timing!

Yelp
Beautiful setting, disappointing experience. The atmosphere was undeniably great--exactly what you'd hope for in a coastal spot. It came highly recommended, but turned out to be a classic tourist trap. Our waiter had the charisma of a folding chair and vanished more often than he appeared. The food? Just average, nothing memorable. We skipped the Blue Water Grill we know and love back home to try something new on the island... big mistake. Should've stuck with the familiar and saved ourselves the regret.

Yelp
Came to the island for a birthday celebration at Descanso Beach. The locals raved about The Lobster Trap, so after the beach club, birthday crew headed over to the restaurant. I'm not sure how the wait normally is on a Saturday, but our party of 20 were seated immediately. You can't come to a place called "The Lobster Trap" and not order something with lobster. So I ordered the lobster roll. I wasn't that impressed. I was expecting it to be a well dressed, buttery split-top bun with mounds of lobster meat. Instead, it was a dry bun with very little dressing. The saving grace was that they do give you a good portion of lobster meat. The lobster roll comes with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and onions on the side. But who puts that on a lobster roll?!?! Haha Service was great! Everyone in our party was satisfied with the service.

Yelp
Let's talk about breakfast on Catalina Island! This is not an obvious choice, but it SHOULD be! With choices like ceviche and smoked salmon breakfast appetizers right along with loco moco and chilaquiles, there is something for everyone. And this place has character...and a full bar from open to close. You see what you get and even have the option of a diner-style counter perspective on the kitchen or bar - you can literally watch how the sausage is made...and the rest of your meal as well...if that is your thing! I had the power breakfast - a thick slice of ham layered with a roasted pepper, fresh tomato slices, a thick slice of cheddar cheese, and two eggs as you like (I had mine over easy). It came with either fruit or cottage cheese on the side, and since the 7 AM decision of WHAT to order from so many yummy choices had taken all of the deciding out of me for the day, the server agreed to do half fruit, half cc on the side. Although it was not on the breakfast menu, I asked if I could have the famous Catalina Island Buffalo Milk (alcoholic beverage). I'm not sure the bartender had 'Buffalo Milk' on his 'first drink ordered on a Monday at 7 AM' bingo card, but he complied, and it was delicious. It was a perfect start to a day filled with walking and e-biking before heading back to reality.

Yelp
Great place to eat for lunch upon arrival to Avalon. The food was good and the ceviche tasted super fresh. The ambiance is very festive and customer service was good as well. Enjoy!

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast during our three day weekend and even though the wait was extremely long to sit down and to be served, the food was pretty good. This place can get very popular depending on the time and day so be prepared to wait a bit. Inside was very crowded so we had to sit at the bar, but we were just a party of two so we didn't have to wait as long as some of the larger groups. Inside is quite large, they have many different sized tables, but no outdoor seating. Our server was very polite, but it took at least 15 minutes for her to come over for the first time and take our drink/food order and all of our food items came out very slowly. When they did come, some of the items were missing, but the taste quality was there. For my first visit, I ordered the Crabcake Benedict with avocado, and they forgot the avocado when it first arrived as well as some other items from other members in our party. That being said, the crabcake was actually very good and this Benedict was the best of the three that I had on the island during my visit. Pricing is pretty fair and the menu does have a lot of good options. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area and would give it another try in the future next time I visit the island.

Yelp
This place can absolutely take all of my money. The food was amazing and the portions are huge. I love that you can pick the type of fish and the preparation. So many to choose from. Like an almost endless combo. The staff here are so nice and we even got to do shots with the owner and his friends! Would love to come back and eat here and would also love to hang at the bar!

Yelp
Cute lobster joint on the beachfront with lots of seafood options. The cocktails are strong. We got a Paloma and a naughty mule. We got jalapeño poppers. We also ordered the lobster roll warm with fries. We didn't expect it to come out on a burger bun. The server was friendly.

Yelp
OMG... this place has the BEST lobster I've ever had in my life. The biggest & the best. I also love the shrimp stuffing it comes with. It's a cute casual place with tons of other options. I also have to point out that the service was Excellent! Yum yum yum!!! Just look at my picture :)

Yelp
Absolutely amazing breakfast! We had the lobster omelet and moco loco and both were perfection!! Excellent service, seated quickly, clean and welcoming environment. Food arrived quickly, order was accurate and absolutely delicious!! Coffee refills were offered regularly. Everything was wonderful. Hubby already asked if we were coming back tomorrow. Highly recommend this place!!!

Yelp
I did no research for this day excursion to Catalina and yet we found some delicious treats and explored the island thoroughly. Everything seems within walking distance aside from some hotels and the golf cart adventure we had exploring more of the island we couldn't see by foot. Our group of 6 had a brief wait for a table and once seated, enjoyed a wonderful meal. Awesome service despite how busy they are!! Pie waitress was amazing. She was a sweetheart and so efficient. I really wish I remembered her name - but we sat by the door/window and it was a Thursday 8/12/25 lunch this past August. We followed her recommendation with the fish and chips and clam chowder, fish on a skewer- everything was really delicious. We really enjoyed everything about this place. The fish and chips were definitely our group's favorite and I have to say, the crispiest and white fish perfection -I'm sorry I don't know what fish they use but it was flaky and so perfect. Thank you to their staff for a wonderful impromptu experience on our Catalina Day excursion.

Yelp
Oh! My! God! The fact noone is hyping up the lobster trap is a blessing. Let it remain a hidden gem because honestly... Best lobster roll Best oysters Rockefeller ($26) We have ever had!!! The staff. The service. The food is unmatched! I am so glad we came here before he headed back to the mainland.

Yelp
We were recommended to eat here from some locals and it did not disappoint! Great cocktails and food! The service was great! We loved the decor.

Yelp
A seafood restaurant serving up fresh fish and seafood. This place is hidden away from the main walkway, but everything is just so close to each other! Service was a bit slow at times but we eventually was able to flag down our waitress. Grilled fish sandwich - I think it was the yellow tail, but don't remember. Wash was grilled well done. It was seasoned with some old bay seasoning so it was delicious. Bread was good as well. Nice to try. Fish and chips - Monster pieces of fish and chips, we upgraded to the local halibut fish. Chips were the same as with the sandwich, just wish it was more crispy! Nice to try.

Yelp
Went to Catalina island for a couple days and was told this place was a must. I sat at the bar and Alex was super energetic and overall killing it. The place seems like it's constantly busy but they do a good job keeping up with the pace. The decor in there is awesome and gives the place a good vibe. I ordered a Michelada and lobster eggs Benedict. The Michelada was made proper and the meal itself I have no words. It was so delicious I enjoyed every bite. I definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
If you're visiting Catalina Island, The Lobster Trap is an absolute must! The ambiance is the perfect blend of laid-back island vibes and lively local energy--fun music, nautical décor, and a warm, welcoming feel that makes you want to linger. The service was outstanding--friendly, attentive, and quick, even though the place was bustling. You can tell the staff genuinely enjoy what they do, and it adds so much to the experience. Now, the food... wow. The steamed artichoke is a hidden gem--perfectly cooked, tender, and paired with a dipping sauce that makes it addictive. I also had the fish sandwich, and it might just be the best I've ever had: fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Whether you're here for a casual bite or a full-on seafood feast, this spot nails it. Great food, great people, and a true Catalina Favorite.

Yelp
We were craving clam chowder in a bread bowl while visiting Catalina Island and decided to try this spot since it had the best reviews -- and it did not disappoint! The chowder came out hot and flavorful, and the bread bowl was perfectly toasted. We were seated almost immediately, and the service was friendly and quick. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Also, I have to say -- this was the best Michelada I've had on my trip! Highly recommend this place if you're visiting the island.

Yelp
This Avalon stalwart was enlarged and remodeled within the last year, and this was my first time dining in the new digs. They took over a few adjacent businesses, so the restaurant is almost double in size. The fanciful mural on the front facade is gone in favour of several large windows, but the mural on the side street remains, as does the "Money Matters" boat deck in the same corner of the floor. While the dining area is larger, the bar area is MUCH larger, with a U-shaped bar with bartenders for drinks and food, plus a second bar facing the kitchen served by waitstaff that appears equipped to function as a sushi bar in the future. This place has always seemed equally popular as a watering hole and a place to eat, but I have never ordered a cocktail here. I don't recall them offering breakfast before the remodel, but now they do daily from 7 am. The menu has usual "American" breakfast offerings as well as Mexican, Hawaiian-ish and seafood-forward items. I chose the lobster omelette (market price, $34). It had a decent amount of lobster, plus bacon, onions, cheese and spicy serrano peppers that I should have omitted (overpowering). I also ordered a dinner to-go on a separate visit. I asked for the sea bass entree with lemon caper sauce (there are 6 preparation options), mixed veggies (carrots and broccoli) and rice pilaf. Fresh and tasty. Always a reliable Avalon dining option, and now a great breakfast spot (I would rank it higher for breakfast over its neighbour Original Jack's).

Yelp
Nicki is the hostess with the most-ess! Sat at the bar and had Freddie as our bartender. He was attentive and so personable. Ordered the Caesar salad with blackened chicken and a hard boiled egg. Delicious. Cold beer and a shot to cap off the afternoon. Thanks Lobster Trap!

Yelp
We came on a Saturday night around 5:00PM and the restaurant was already crowded but we were able to get two seats at the bar. My friend and I shared the crab cakes as well as a lobster roll. I was unfortunately disappointed in both. I felt like overall, the food was average. The crab cakes were very dill-forward and flat, and I'm used to crab cakes that are more packed. The lobster roll was okay, but it didn't taste like a traditional lobster roll given the bread choices, garlic sauce, and the lobster wasn't as good as it could've been. One thing I did like was they didn't charge for water which I was surprised about at other spots in Avalon until I looked up the reasons why.

Yelp
Stopped by when I was in Catalina a few days ago. Clam chowder - despite how it looks (lacking color). It actually tastes good. It might be a little thick for some. But I didn't mind the thickness. Would've preferred oyster crackers instead of saltines though. "Lobster roll" as they called it - this was very disappointing. I had the choice of white. Wheat or sourdough. I went with wheat. I didn't realize it was going to be burger buns. This burger bun was pretty dense. It muted the flavor and taste of the lobster. There also wasn't a lot of lobster. As for the lobster roll. I think it's having a hard identifying what it wants to be. It's not a Maine inspired roll - it lacked the mayo spread. It's not Connecticut - there was no butter. It did come the burger stuff in the side. Though that's not how I eat my lobster rolls. Would I come back? Eh I don't know. For clam chooser. But not the roll.

Aliyah M.

Yelp
Best lobster ever everything went together so perfectly it was so fresh and flavorful and my server was absolutely nice. Totally recommend checking out.

Yelp
Sizable portions and large menu. Very busy/lively atmosphere. Food did not blow my mind (pretty average flavors) but they did hit the spot!

Yelp
As one of the very few dining options during the off season, The Lobster Trap is a great option. They recently re-did the restaurant and it looks great! A lot more welcoming with big windows and pretty ambiance, while still keeping their cheeky and funny signs on the walls. We came for an earlier dinner, which was a good idea as they ended up on a wait due to the limited options on the island this time of year. We were seated in their upper "boat" area which is always fun. The food was yummy and our server was attentive.

Rosie H.

Yelp
Best clam chowder ever!!!! And fish n chips were amazing! New renovation makes the place look inviting every time we come
google avatar

Pranjali S.

Yelp
I don't quite get why they have such amazing reviews. We came here based on the reviews and while the food was fine, it was pretty expensive and definitely not worth the price we paid. The ambiance is casual and obviously sea-themed. The floor is definitely interesting as they have stones covered with a transparent laminate so go with the ocean theme. We ordered a yellowtail sandwich and a fish and chips with half and half (fries and coleslaw). The yellowtail was ok. It needed more than the sauce and accompanying veggies to make it flavorful. The fish and chips were definitely the better of the two dishes we ordered. The breading was not super thick and the fish inside was not overcooked. The accompanying fries and coleslaw were ok, fried being better than the slaw. Their peach cider was very good. Again, nothing bad about the food, just not worth the price we paid for it.

Yelp
4 stars only because these Chargrilled Oysters were just not it. No flavor. Too much cheese. I was expecting a NOLA type vibe. Ordered the chicken wings as an appetizer with plans to get seafood after but the wings were SO GOOD that I ended up ordering more and having that as my entree. Best wings in Catalina! No complains! Sever was super cool too! The wings are the main star though! 10/10!!

Yelp
Every single thing was delicious! My wife and I were thrilled and love everything down to the bread! Portions were large and flavor was outstanding!

Yelp
My friend and I came here for lunch during our day trip to Santa Catalina Island. The interior was fairly spacious with much fish decor, photos and signage all around. There was a comfortable, familiar feel to the place. I went for one of the fish entrees, and was able to choose the fresh fish, as well as how it was prepared. I selected the Macadamia Crusted Sea Bass, which was served with steamed vegetables and baked potato or rice pilaf. I decided to have it with baked potato because I thought it would come with all the fixings. However, it only had butter, sour cream and green onion - No bacon or cheese much to my disappointment. The potato was very bland. Steamed veggies included broccoli, carrots, zucchini and had very little taste. At least I enjoyed the Sea Bass, which was tender with a slight crisp from the well seasoned and satisfyingly nutty macadamia crust. Service was solid. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with the menu. Pricing was on the higher side, but on par with other restaurants in the area. I wasn't impressed with my meal, so wouldn't return.

Yelp
We came here because the Bar tender next door recommended the food. At first glance, the place gave me red lobster vibes, however as soon as we walked in the front door, the hostess was very nice, friendly and welcoming. We were seated fairly quickly and our server (Jesse) was ready to take our order. He was also very polite, professional and friendly. We ordered 2 beers (pacifico) and they added s wedge of lime which tells me they know how to serve their beers! I ordered the mexican shrimp cocktail which was better than expected, good taste, good serving portion and plenty of chips. I give it a 7 out of 10 because it could of used a bit more shrimp. The wife ordered the grilled salmon salad, the salmon tasted fresh and delicious, the salad was crispy and fresh. The portion was adequate. We also had oysters in a half shell, I give those a 10 out of 10! Overall, the place was good, the food was great and the employees were wonderful. Price wise, we paid $95 for 3 beers, 2 entrees and an appetizer, I say thats fair for sea food and in catalina Island..

Yelp
Sunday Morning Brunch! really packed but, got seated in less than 30mins for a party of 12, Winner BUT service took 5EVERRR to bring us waters, take our order, let alone, bring our food to the table. We looked around and seen it was pretty busy inside, but also didn't seem like enough workers, and that's why it took so long to get service periodt! we did complain & mention to our waiter, every time he passed by our table & was informed, it " was" busier earlier & we can't tell, but he will check & make sure our food comes out soon. We kinda didn't really pay attention to how long service was taking, cause the music in here is Crack'n, if your about that Island Reggae food is good & nice portions for what you pay for.

Yelp
We ordered the lobster salad and the lobster roll, and they were delicious! My favorite one was the lobster salad. We opted for the balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing. We added a bit of black pepper and lemon juice, and it was just so good! We finished every last bite. The service was great and friendly. The atmosphere was lively and fun. You will definitely have a great time eating here!

Yelp
We had a really great experience here. We sat at the bar and met Alex, what a gem. We enjoyed talking with him and learning about the island. He made great recommendations for a meal. Our food came out fast and was really good. Highly recommended

Yelp
Lobster Trap is amazing and we finally discovered their KILLER breakfast today. We got lobster eggs Benedict and a tried and true Denver omelette and they both SLAPPED! The flavors were amazing, freshness on point. Service was awesome as always.

Yelp
LOCATION: One of the popular spots for seafood and food on Catalina Island and a close walk from the center of town and the dock from which you arrive. Barely any parking and limited parking for golf carts so I would recommend just walking. SERVICE: Great service overall, seated fairly quickly around dinner time and there are plenty of seats with many bar areas to sit as well. The food came fairly fast within 10-15 minutes and our waiter was hospitable. FOOD: We got the calamari and ceviche dip and they were both underwhelming. Chips weren't salted, the shrimp was mashed up not much flavor, and the calamari came in patties. However, the blackened cod and the scallops were delicious. Overall, the seafood was a subpar, nothing special.
