"An organic burger specialist right on Main Street, The Local Cow is on the opposite side of the menu spectrum from Dea’s. In other words, the spot promises Oregon-raised grass-fed beef patties on brioche buns in a variety of creative burgers. The Rockwood combines pepperjack, guacamole, fried banana peppers, and chipotle mayo. Many burgers include local touches like Rose City Pepperheads Hawaiian jalapeno jelly, and the restaurant serves Boring Cider on tap." - Krista Garcia, Janey Wong

"The Gresham purveyor of organic burgers recently began doing its own delivery service between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. The restaurant’s signature grass-fed burgers like The Pendleton (cheddar, fried onions, bbq sauce, and bacon) are also available via DoorDash." - Krista Garcia

First timer here, and I was not disappointed. The food was amazing and came out fast and hot. The lemonade was so good. I appreciate the great service and friendly attitude of the staff. Will be making a visit back real soon. I suggest trying the Pendleton burger. So good.

Google
Nice local burger place in Gresham. The aesthetic is right up my alley and the "divorced dad rock" blaring from the speakers made me feel at home. Food was surprisingly good with the surprise being the Zukes (fried zucchini) and the chupacabra burger was exactly what I look for when craving a burger (smoky, salty, creamy, spicy).

Google
This is the "it" spot for delicious burgers, and I've been coming here for 5+ years. Burgers are tasty, and fries as well. They have an in house dipping sauce which is amazing to dip fries in. Overall good vibes and atmosphere, nestled in the middle of the Gresham Downtown. Highly recommend!

Google
We stopped by just to have a look and the smell of the food made us stay for a sample. Wow! The fried zucchini is perfection, the burgers are a symphony for the tastebuds. We will be back with friends! Can’t wait to tryout the entire menu!

Google
The wife and I have been coming here every 6 months or so since 2021. The food was great 1 or 2 times. We try to be understanding if there is a rush or have a one off bad experience. The service has always been quick, but the food seems to have been progressively getting worse. The last three orders I had to throw the food away because it wasn't cooked. Tonight was the final straw for us. Stale fries, bland, mostly raw burger.

Google
Let's be honest this is a FANTASTIC little spot to grab a bite with friends with what feels like REAL FOOD. Not to mention their cajun fries are delicious- everyone seems to have their favorites here though. (my family loves the bleu cheese fries) If you haven't tried it yet- do yourself a favor and stop by. Literally can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

Google
We are from out of town and always looking for a great burger and oh MAN did this hit the spot!! Parking is minimal—we parked down the block and walked. It’s super tiny but it was packed so we knew it had to be good! We were seated right away and our server had us water and appetizer order taken in less than 5 minutes. We had the fried pickles which were the best I had ever had…the breading was perfectly thick and crunchy and the pickles were still a bit crunchy and not soggy…perfectly cooked! They were HOT AF—steaming as we took bites but so good! I had the Moo Melt (patty melt) with a sunny side up egg and the Cow Fries (garlic, rosemary), my husband had the same and our siblings both got the Pendleton—BBQ sauce, onion petals, etc. Everything was DELICIOUS—the only not so great part were the Cow Fries. They weren’t very crispy or salted and VERY garlicky! Not BAD, but not great. Like I said, everything else was so great! 10/10 recommend!!

Google
I had something to pickup from FB Marketplace out that way, was hungry, so I Googled "Good food near me" I chose the Local Cow, and I'm glad I did. It was very busy but they took my to go order gladly. I asked for crispy Cow Fries and my burger well done. The fries were actually crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The contrast was better than any other I've had. It was almost like a snack food, rather than a French fry. The blue cheese and bacon burger (I forget the name) was also very good. I could definitely taste the quality of the ample ingredients! It's certainly nowhere near my house, but I'd go out of my way to try another menu item or 2. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for good food in a casual atmosphere. There is also outdoor seating and it's in a nice, historic part of town. Go check em out!

Yelp
Did I not do a review for Local Cow already?! No way! If someone asked me ONE of the TOP 5 places to try in OREGON. LOCAL COW will be on that list. This place will not disappoint! Food is fresh, amazingly seasoned, staff are friendly and super attentive! Local, next door neighbor joint that will have you coming back! Parking is street friendly. Park further away, take a stroll. Located in the heart of downtown Gresham! Inside can seat more than you expect! Must try their fried zukes!! I can never go without them! Their house ranch, chefs kiss!

Yelp
We drop by here occasionally. Generally pretty consistent. Couple of issues this time My burger was undercooked. Pink inside I get, however this time no sear and too pink. Wife hardly ate her fries, we took home. I tried one later. Exceptionally tough. Truly bad. Wife's too nice. Should have sent them back. Service was good.

Yelp
My dad had finished with a doctors appointment and was starving so we went to the closest burger joint and it was The Local Cow! Boy were we surprised. Such a fun, cute place in the middle of Main Street in Gresham. Casual tables, cow prints hung on the wall and a tv. They really know how to do burger right! We ordered fries, the sliders and the Rockwood. We gobbled everything up in minutes. Fry portion was huge, super flavorful and the burgers were delicious too. Service and staff 10 out of 10.

Keith H.

Yelp
Delicious looking selection of burgers that immediately had me planning a return (we had the Left Coast with a fry upgrade). Cozy atmosphere. Excellent service. Shout out to Emily aka Sporty Spice.

Shelly F.

Yelp
The burgers are so juicy and tender, it's like they are out of a fairytale! The assortment of toppings span from fried banana peppers to smoked bacon and truffle oil! The friendly service and unique atmosphere add the extra touch! I tried the Rockwood burger, named for a local suburb, along with a pomegranate cider. Delicious!

Matthew W.

Yelp
One of the best burgers I've ever had. The service here is always good. This place is amazing with all the cow art and pictures of dogs and cats.

Remi P.

Yelp
Our go-to spot. Kind people, delicious burgers, positive atmosphere. We come back again and again.

Natalie H.

Yelp
Typically love to go here for a great burger, but the last time I came, I got their taco salad, and it was delicious! And massive. Don't forget cow fries if you like garlic!

Alina C.

Yelp
I came with my husband and father in law and we had a great experience! I had a Left Coast burger, upgraded fries, and strawberry lemonade. It was so delicious! The restaurant itself is so cute. We sat outside and enjoyed people watching in the downtown area. The waitress (Ariel) was also so nice and provided great service. 10/10 all around! We are definitely going to be back!

Janisse H.

Yelp
Wow! That was terrific! Everything was so good. Only thing missing was cocktails. I had a burger with pepper jack, crispy banana peppers, guacamole, and Chipotle mayo. So good. But the Bleu fries and caprese slides were the real winners. We also had the fresh marionberry lemonade and that was delicious also. And the ambiance was like a thousand times better than Brady's, but if you just look at the cost of my burger/ fries/ drink, it cost about the same. No comparison; Local Cow wins by a mile. Well worth the $15 burger!

Joanne S.

Yelp
Located next a a brewery, we got a Pendleton burger with moo fries and a steak Caesar. My bf really liked the burger and the local cow fries! Although he said a little more sauce on the burger would make it even better! It came with bbq sauce, fried onion, beef patty, bacon, and cheddar cheese. The salad was surprisingly good with substantial amount of protein. I would get again. The steak was well seasoned!

Cathy D.

Yelp
I had the Ft. Stevens burger and substituted the blue cheese for Swiss cheese. The burger was delicious, juicy, and flavorful. The side of fries were perfectly salted, and crispy. I definitely recommend the Local Cow!

Ethan G.

Yelp
I was looking for cows but couldn't find any! ‍ The Wilson Hill almost gave me a heart attack and I love it! They had music blaring and I was able to drown my sorrows in garlic French fries and good beer!

Kenton B.

Yelp
The Local Cow has been my go-to spot when I want a thick burger. Every time I come here, I need a long nap right after. The Hawaii 503 burger is very easy to eat. You don't get sick of the same fatty flavor because there is BBQ sauce and pineapple to help cut through it. The Rockwood burger was an underdog for sure. I usually avoid getting burgers with guacamole because all you can taste is the guacamole. This burger actually NEEDS the guacamole to help bring all the flavors together. The sliders were actually really good, but really basic. I would get them again if I just wanted the taste of beef and onions. Also, I HIGHLY recommend that you upgrade your regular fries to cow fries because they are extremely addicting. You won't regret it Overall, a very nice burger place to stuff yourself. I would come here everyday if my arteries and wallet allowed it.

Yelp
I was.working in downtown Gresham this last week and thought it was the perfect time to try this place! It was pretty hot out and I walked there so I wasn't in the mood for a burger but they did look delicious. I opted for the taco salad with an IPA (shh don't tell). The salad was delicious. Not often do you get a taco salad with long sweet pepper slices. It was a very large salad so I actually ate it for lunch and dinner. It was a little hard to find. It shares and entrance with another store. Maybe I'm just bad at direction idk. I can say next time I'm in the area I'll probably drop in to try one of these burger!

Michael T.

Yelp
For the last decade we have continually looked for the best burger in the portland metro area at that time. The Local Cow, for us, is tied for 1st in the Portland metro area. We will be back

Mike K.

Yelp
Talk about awesome... I loved this place. I really could not find anything that they did not do right. It is in a store front in the quaint downtown area. The service was really good and super friendly. The blue cheese burger ROCKED and the truffle frys were awesome. Got to love the fry sauce. Definitely, worth a visit..

Lyann S.

Yelp
Located in a cute small strip of shops and couldn't decide where to eat with all the food options in the area but we let the little one decide and burger it was! They have an area with books and color crayons for the kids, a kids menu, and a very delicious selection of burgers to choose from. Definitely salivating as I skimmed the menu, it's been a very long time since I had a nice real burger lol. It was meaty and juicy! Don't judge, I ate the whole thing ...And the local cow fries... yummmm!!!! The server had an odd vibe but was friendly enough and took care of our needs, so it's whatever!

Kathryn D.

Yelp
Great food and the service was fantastic!! Loved all the dog photos on the wall of all the furry friendly customers. Loved the whole experience!

Jason G.

Yelp
Felt like one of those places that the locals know but not known to those unfamiliar with the area. Would definitely say, it is a hidden gem. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a fun vibrant feeling. Employees were working diligently with nearly table being used inside and out. Greeted promptly and asked to wait a minute or two while a table was being cleaned. Our waitress met us shortly after we had time to look at the menu. Was friendly and joking with us as we placed our order. Was it the best burger I have ever had? No, but it was a damm fine burger I would definitely have again and again. Ordered the local cow fries as an appetizer and they sure are a must try. Very flavorful and delivered to our table hot and fresh. Substituted the side salad with the burger and received a nice fresh large side salad. My wife and I walked away pleasantly full after sharing the meal.

Yelp
Next door to The Hoppy Brewer. We stopped for a beer and food on way into Portland. Great local diner with an emphasis on the burgers. Renee got the sliders - three good size with perfect onions and cheese. I got the El Chupacabra - awesome with a touch of spice. Upgraded to the Cow fries which were amazing as well.

Eli L.

Yelp
Good burgers. Nice people. Small cafe vibe. Great place to meet a buddy for lunch or dinner.

Bruce S.

Yelp
Long overdue update! The Local Cow is our favorite! Great people, great burgers, great beer (especially love Tap Takeover Wednesday's), and my beloved Salchichas y Papas have returned for good!

Taylor M.

Yelp
Delicious burgers, fries, & fried pickles. Wish the space inside was a little more welcoming & comfortable. Friendly staff, & good food.

Dawn L.

Yelp
Ariel was amazing! She was always making sure our needs were met. She promptly brought our to go boxes and thanked us for her tip. Amazing service! If not Kasey, she is my preferred server. Excellent job Ariel!

Jessy L.

Yelp
Every burger I've tried has been fabulous!! The service is always amazing and it's a great place to come as a family or grab a drink with friends

Denny C.

Yelp
The food is great especially Blue cheese fries and the wedge. They do have beverages but can eat on patio between there and Hoppy and get the beer on tap from there

Aimee H.

Yelp
Best burgers and fried pickles. Hands down. The staff are amazingly friendly and I love all the RC Cola memorabilia!

Ali V.

Yelp
Both of these burgers were AMAZING. We also got the cheese balls and they were great as well! Service was quick and friendly! Highly recommend if you are in the area!

Brian D.

Yelp
Went here last night with my daughter and we had a great time. We both loved our food and the whole meal. People who work there are super nice, really good service. They have the best burger in Gresham, with a bunch of cool unique options. Fries are top tier, would recommend the cow fries strongly.

Jean P.

Yelp
Fantastic burgers Buns are amazing Meat quality was perfect. You can taste the grass fed beef... amazing Fries are sublime Perfect balance of quality Can't wait to try again

Brenda W.

Yelp
I'm sad!! This used to be such a great place. Mostly dry burger (supposed to be smothered in bbq) and extremely dry and sparse cow fries. I'm lucky I decided to eat in, at least they brought more bbq... expensive for such a lack of care

Daniel M.

Yelp
I hadn't eaten here in 10 years. We were having a pint around the corner and decided to eat here. Mistake. We got two burgers and some fries and some chips. The chips were soggy and stale, the fries were a hollow shell of fryer badness. The buns were so soaked with grease that they were soggy and fell apart. There was a pool of Grease at the bottom of the to go boxes. The lettuce was part black. The only reason we got that second star added on here is because when I called and told them that I would bring them the food back and I wanted a refund, she said, don't worry about bringing it back and voided the transaction. This was a to go order in the first place, and this just goes to show that you should always look at your food before you leave the place you get it from.

Megga M.

Yelp
Food was yummy service was sweet overall it's was great! I took my 2 daughters and they lived the food; they are also extreamly hard to please so this place passed!

Tom M.

Yelp
Nice spot with good burgers. The staff is extremely friendly. Fried zucchini is awesome!! Have been here a few times and will definitely be back for more.

Rosa N.

Yelp
Was so excited about this place; however, it was disappointing. The server was amazing and full of positive energy. We couldn't decide on a bev so she suggested that we could split one, which we did and loved the huckleberry cider. Burger and cow fries were way too dry that I couldn't finish them :(

Bee F.

Yelp
Wow! Try the Salchichas y papas! It's a Peruvian dish and this version is fries with sausage slices, fried banana peppers and a very nicely spicy sauce. It's so tasty! Make sure to bring friends though, girls, because even 1 big guy might have trouble finishing this huge pile of food. Here's a picture of what I had left when my stomach was fit to burst...!

Katrina T.

Yelp
This was my first time here and I was pretty impressed. We ordered the Wilson Hill sandwich-- bacon between two burger patties covered with cheese in between two grilled cheese sandwiches!! SOOO good! It comes with chips, we upgraded to fires. However, when they brought it out we had the chips on the plate-- they quickly brought out the fires, but we also got to try the chips. First, we paid a total of $22 for the burger, fries and a soda. Might sound like a lot to some, but portions were HUGE! $1 to upgrade to fries from the chips was SO worth it! The chips themselves were also really good. Would recommend, for sure!

Ruslan S.

Yelp
Tried the two items on the menu that were more gimmicky. While good enough, I'd order something else the next time I come here, which I will. The PB&J didn't taste like there was any jam and I guess I'm not that crazy about guacamole. Good menu selection, about $14-15 a burger. If you don't want a pink burger, you DO need to specify that. They had a solid sour, which is not an option I find a lot! Cajun fries were great.

Roxy R.

Yelp
Excellent quality! I can't remember the name of the burger I ordered, it may have been a special on the board? The beef was tasty and flavorful, the bacon was thick and smoky, bun was fresh and soft! The cheese and sauces just brought it all together for an incredible meal alongside deliciously crisp Cajun fries. Kids 1 & 2 got kids hot dogs meals, they were happy (kid #1 reported it to be likely "an all beef hot dog" which is the preferred in our house lol). Kid 3 got a salad (fine) and cheese balls (oh em gee, amazing!!!). Kid 4 got a cheeseburger which he said was good. Besides beer and soft drinks, one kid got a strawberry lemonade which came out with nice presentation and fabulous taste. Partner and I also had some fantastic ciders! Service was great! Friendly girl took our order and checked up on us throughout our meal. We did not have a wait time as we showed up for a late 3:00 lunch on a Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of open tables. I would highly recommend this spot if you are, or aren't, in the area. :)

Joseph D.

Yelp
You can taste the "local". This was my second time in. The Blue cheese fries taste like the cheese has extra Bleu. The quality is unmatched by any quick service burger spot. I bit into my left coast burger and literally had chills as the flavors of freshness filled my mouth. Don't sleep on this spot

Kevin K.

Yelp
my wife and i are visiting portland from st. louis for christmas. we were looking for a local restaurant to eat at last night and stumbled upon this establishment. we walked in and it was nicely decorated and very festive. we got seated right away and our server was really nice. we ordered our food and the first thing we got was their local cow fries which consisted of rosemary garlic, truffle oil, and parmesan. it was decently good but we wished it had more truffle flavor, it was a bit strong on the rosemary aspect. we got our burgers shortly after, i got the wilson hill burger; and my wife did the build your own. the food overall was really good but very greasy. considering it was only $46 for 2 burgers and an appetizer, we would go here again if we ever come back.

Matt M.

Yelp
Good food at this downtown Gresham restaurant. I had a burger and it was very good. Service was good too.

Molly H.

Yelp
Great customer service and the BEST fried pickles I've ever had in my life! I was expecting salty, soggy chips but instead got crispy panko coated spears that were tender inside but still had some "bite." Absolutely delicious! For burgers, we ordered the Pendleton and the Rockwood with regular fries. Both were flavorful and cooked well done, as requested, but not burnt. This was our first time trying this spot out and we'll definitely be back!

Johanna M.

Yelp
What was once a favored local spot with its grass-fed local beef and quality ingredients Is now a día pointing grease pit. From the containers the food comes in to the food itself; it's just too much grease. Fat doesn't always equal flavor.

Chelsea A.

Yelp
Awesome food, chill environment and kind servers. Hamburgers and salads are delicious! Would recommend!

Tiffany A.

Yelp
This place was absolutely amazing I cannot believe how good this was I had never even heard of it until my fiancé suggested we go because we were already in the areas I got their peach cherry lemonade wich was their special of the day and it was sooooo good I couldn't believe it. And then when our food came I was over the moon their rosemary garlic fries are to die for. Their food is like nothing I've ever eaten before please go here if you're in the area!!!!!

AnneMarie A.

Yelp
We walked in as a family of 5 on a Friday at 6:30pm. We were seated immediately, our hostess was quick, attentive, and thrilled our kids (4,7,12) by complimenting them on their ordering skills. The food arrived quickly, the servings were plentiful, and everything was delicious! The gluten-free bun on my burger was amazing! This place is definitely on our list for another visit.

Jonathan D.

Yelp
Delicious burgers and brews in Downtown Gresham. Service is hit and miss, depends on who is serving you. I like the feel of the restaurant but it could be a little tidier, but that won't stop me from coming back. One of the best burger spots in Gresham.
