The Lodge at Dawn Ranch

This review is for the restaurant. High skill, sophisticated cooking. We did the full tasting menu on one night and the pre fix the next. Every dish was delicious; we especially appreciated the excellent sauces that came with most dishes and skillfully blended cultures. The wine list was also great, with the pairing consisting of classics with age rarely seen by the glass (think 2012 Cheval Blanc, 2010 Egon Spätlese, and 2003 d’Yquem). The bottle list contains lots of fun nerdy (if pricey) gems. Compared to tasting menus in San Francisco, this menu is very reasonably priced. We look forward to returning. The only negative was breakfast and bar service. There wasn’t enough staff to handle the crush of people trying to order, resulting in 20-30m lines at the bar to order.

Charming restaurant, Great location in the redwoods giving rustic nature vibes. We had such a wonderful dinner here with our friends. The food was fantastic with bold flavors. Gorgeous presentations, very impressed with the fire cooking skills and aromatic depth of each courses. Very nice selections of wine list to offer. Lovely service 10/10 highly a must try experience!!🤎

We stayed at the hotel, so we ate breakfast and dinner here. We also tried the bar. The restaurant with the tasting menu is exceptional. I would say it was a lot of food as I was very full at the end. Would really recommend and gladly come back when staying here. Breakfast is really good too. We ate everyday of our stay. The service could be improved and was slow sometimes. The croissants are really great which was not something I’d have expected. I also always liked the yogurt granola. Re service, we had breakfast included in our stay, which meant one main and a drink. I tried to substitute a pastry for the main (since pastry is cheaper than main you’d think that’s a no brainer) but that was not allowed. Given price of hotel and being fine dining restaurant I thought that was ridiculous. Bar service. One night we had some wine in the main bar room which was great. Another night we wanted a dessert and sat in the side room and they brought us dessert in a takeaway box. Apparently they don’t do cutlery service in the side room…. I mean fine but ???

We just randomly dropped in for a Steak. Was pleasantly surprised with how fancy this restaurant is. Chip…… Hooked it up, even though we were not part of “The Tasting” Thanks again Chip. 5 Star Service for sure.

Incredible tasting menu at the Lodge. Every course was fresh, delicious, and creative, and genuinely better than many Michelin restaurants I’ve been to in the past. Amazing service as well. I would go again in a heartbeat!

I didn't stay here, just had dinner. It's weird that you can't review just the restaurant. I thought the food was really good! The steak quite literally melted in my mouth, the ricotta gnudi was a burst of flavor with a really smooth texture, the fish was so tender and juicy (but i WOULD recommend having some skin in every bite because that's where a majority of the flavor was), and the bread was super crusty on the outside with a hot, soft center (i seriously believe we were served this directly from an oven). Also the drinks were so good! I quite enjoyed the sangria, and they have an option to have the bartender make a drink for you from a description and i really liked my drink from that as well; i think it's the only aperol drink I've ever liked the taste of. Plus we played the "guess the base spirit" game. ... We lost. 😁 Overall, really tasty and great atmosphere, but when choosing restaurants just keep in mind that this is fine dining in wine country - it ain't cheap and it's pretty standard portion sizes for fancy places (ie small).

This review is for the restaurant only. We came here for the New Year’s Eve 6-course meal. It was incredible and offered excellent service. Every course was delicious and the meal was properly priced.

We went to the Lodge for a birthday celebration and opted to sit in the bar area so that we could order the a la carte menu. The space has a lounge vibe which is beautiful, but an awkward design if you're having food. Chairs are deep set d far from the low table, so you find yourself in creative positions trying to eat. Service... The up selling they do almost ruins the experience. If it's not blatant then they do it through means like offering bread but neglecting to mention they'll charge you $10 for it. The food... Good, but for the area, nothing special. I think anyone who lives in the area is spoiled by/used to farm-to-table so that isn't a very distinguishing factor. The prices were definitely over inflated. I get the sense this place wants to be a copycat of The Farmhouse, when really they'd be better off blazing their own trail and doing something better suited and uniquely Guerneville.

I had an exceptional stay here at the Dawn Ranch for an event I was attending (Lazy Bear)! Transparently, I did have a slight issue at checkin but it was a system issue from the third party vendor I booked through regarding the room type. Dawn ranch was really under no obligation to help correct the issue, but went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay here. The property is absolutely stunning. Loved the orchard, gardens, and direct river access. Pictures don't do the place justice. It's super serene and majestic. Also the restaurant was the best dining experience I had on my stay here in Guerneville. If you go, definitely get the fresh sourdough bread. Living in San Francisco I have pretty high expectations here but I was blown away! So good! Finally, shoutout to the staff for making my stay so great. The front desk staff was really exceptional. You could tell they were super busy for the event that weekend but were able to handle the situation professionally and with great friendly attitudes! Shout out to our server Tate at the restaurant as well. She was super personable and did a great job recommending drinks and dishes. I would definitely recommend giving this place a chance and will be back next year!

I'm at the hotel and I am already leaving a 1 star review. Teach M. Don't even try to fix this. Your team is terrible, front office staff is arrogant and condescending. I called earlier in the week and your staff said I'd be ok with a late check out. I show up and it's the absolute opposite, charging me a late check out... and even different prices based on time - ranging for $100-$200 based on time of day (isn't this back charging? Pretty sure that's illegal in state of CA). Specially I asked for a late checkout since I had a 9 AM massage appointment. The front desk staff still expected me to be out of my room whilst at my spa appointment... in the middle of my massage. Canceled that massage immediately! But ruined my entire anniversary experience- wouldn't it ruin yours? I can't believe happy weddings take place at your hotel, it's a heartbreaker of a spot. Also, bare minimum supplies in rooms. No q tips, towels, or even shampoo. You didn't have a wine opener in my room. This isn't a luxury hotel, motels have better service and at least humanity. Quality is same of an hourly roadside.

Maybe cute and all but bad service. I'm only talking about the restaurant. I haven't stayed there so I can't speak to that. On multiple occasions we have tried to eat there and we try to go and nobody responds to us or even welcome us even though they see us. Very cold. I can't recommend this spot. Many other great places to go in the river. I hope they get more professional staff.

I had such a lovely long weekend staying in a 2 bed/2 bath cabin with my BFF for our bday weekend. Our cabin was quaint, nestled in the trees of beautiful grounds. The living area could have used some more comfortable seating but we didn't spend much time in there in the end. We had massages and really enjoyed lounging in the spa. We took advantage of the steam room and sat outside drinking our cocktails and having some snacks. The grounds of the ranch of really beautiful. We didn't get to use a lot of it due to a wedding happening while we were there, but there were river activities, firepits and outdoor lounge seating. We paid for breakfast to be included which really only makes sense on certain days of the week. They don't offer a full breakfast every day and some days its just coffees/tea etc.. and pastries. The ranch is situated within walking distance to town and restaurants and shops. The Armstrong redwoods are also close by and we hiked through that amazing wonder. I loved this spot and would happily come back!

If you forget anything at Dawn Ranch, they will hold it hostage for a week (and counting) after you send them a shipping label, and then they still won't do it after repeatedly informing you they're sending back your items. We spent $400 for a single night 8 days ago and they still won't return my property. The room was mid. Cannot recommend.

We stayed here for a wedding weekend and it was fabulous. Rooms are small but charming and perfect and location is excellent. Access to spa and restaurant is great bc they are great!

Check in staff is not welcoming and seemed bothered. Restaurant is unorganized and unprofessional. Overall, this place is overpriced for the level of service and care you get.

An update to our initial review. After a generic Yelp response/comment on our previous review and an email sent to us personally, we were only comped a small portion of ONE of our nights. Despite having multiple, valid complaints. And despite staying more than one night, with one of them being during a private event which restricted us from using amenities. With the experience we had, we should have been at least comped a full night stay AT THE VERY LEAST. We will not be going back and will be sure to not recommend to others via social media.

I don't like leaving crummy reviews and I wasn't going to but given the cost of staying at DR and the disappointment we had , I felt compelled. I'll start with the positives. The food at the restaurant is legit. And the grounds are nice. The front desk staff seemed flat out annoyed every time we popped in, including check in. I've had more welcoming experiences at the DMV. Service at the restaurant was uneven at best. Has to track down the server to get our bill. We stayed in the most eastern cabin, which is close to enough to the Safeway next door which has a generator that goes off and on. Not ideal for sleep. And the property is right off the road which was a surprise. Lots of traffic so not so cozy in the redwoods. They have made a nice place here but unlikely we'd ever go back give the poor experience

Loved my experience here. First off, it's a great location. You're basically in downtown and also a 5-10 min drive from great hiking trails. We stayed in a cabin and everything was spotless. Their AC and heating system worked great! We enjoyed their restaurant for drinks, breakfast, and lunch. Erik our bartender was very knowledgeable about his craft and entertaining. The rooms/cabins can get expensive but you feel really far away from home, perfect little staycation area. The spa was also another benefit of staying here. You can literally stay here for two days and not have to leave their grounds. Also, they text you so you practically have concierge one message away. They also give you free access to things like binoculars, bikes, picnic blankets, and nightly items to make smores. A lot of people also brought their dogs, so the whole facility are dog friendly.

Yelp has a max and min word limit so the review is in the screenshots (see captions in images for ordering) but to satisfy the min word limit I've put the first few paragraphs below: "My girlfriend and I had been here back in October 2023 and fell in love with Dawn Ranch. Since then, I think I've preached to at least 50+ people how it is almost mandatory that they visit. However after we visited again for our anniversary last weekend, we experienced one too many signals that this place is on a not-so-good trajectory. Trust me, we're the first ones to be sad about it. Now, none of these experiences alone warrant a 2-star review. It's the combination of them over a span of 2 days that really got to us. Here they are:"

We had a beautiful wedding at Dawn Ranch. The property is something really special, nestled amongst the trees with direct access to the river. Most of our guests were able to stay onsite, making the experience like summer camp. We had a full weekend event: Friday night dinner, Saturday Reception, Saturday Late Night, and Sunday brunch. All of the events went perfectly and our guests had an amazing time. Our ceremony and reception took place in the Orchard, which was the perfect setting. The food all weekend was spectacular. There were a few issues with the billing - Dawn Ranch's invoices for Late Night did not agree with our original proposal, which were corrected. We would recommend Dawn Ranch as an outstanding venue.

This review is tough for me because there are high highs, but disappointing lows. My wife and I visited for the first time in the fall of 2023 and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the glamping tent and had a wonderful experience. However, the trip that we are currently on has soured our opinion of Dawn Ranch. I WANT to love this place, but at this point, I'm not sure that it's worth the price. For our current trip, my wife and I took our 11 year old kid with us. We booked the Fern Cottage which is $467/night. Our first disappointment came when we checked in and we're told that our cabin was across the highway and we would need to drive to get there. It's a minor annoyance, but already not what we thought we were signing up for. We expected to be on the main campus where we could easily walk around. Then, when we got to our cottage, there was no available parking nearby. We had to park on the highway (quite busy and in the rain), and had to lug our suitcases up to the cottage. Keep in mind - there IS parking right in front of each cottage but for whatever reason, they aren't assigned so anyone can park anywhere. Seems like each cottage should have designated parking. The cottage itself is cute, although the living room furniture is so tiny and uncomfortable that it renders the living room useless. We had planned to spend time in that room playing games and stuff, but it was so uncomfortable that we haven't. Also, the great fireplace they advertise online doesn't even work! It's for "decor only". We had booked this cottage for a family "staycation" and were planning on cozying up by the fireplace as it's due to rain most of our trip. We won't have the opportunity to do that, which is literally why we booked the cabin. Then, we had dinner reservations at The Lodge. We had to drive over and upon arrival, there was no available parking! I went into the lobby and was essentially told "it is what it is". (AGAIN, we are paying $500 night to be told to go park on the rainy and dark highway. We ended up finding a spot that may or may not have been a parking spot, but was a dicey place to leave the car. Dinner at The Lodge was pleasant. Try the scallops, they are delicious! After dinner, we drove back to our cabin and *surprise surprise* NO PARKING. Meanwhile, it's fully raining and we have our kid with us. After driving around for a bit, we finally decided to illegally park in a handicapped spot so that we could get into our room for the evening. If we have a ticket tomorrow, I will be escalating this to management because this is ridiculous. This was my last straw. For $500/ night, I expect to at least have parking available to me. Especially when we are also spending $300 on dinner. I also expect for the couch to be built for adult humans, not toddlers. Our second night here, my wife and I went to take a hot shower and within 6 minutes the hot water was gone and we were left with an ice cold shower. FOR $500/NIGHT. WHAT THE HELL?!? I hate to leave this review because every single staff member has been so pleasant, and as a gay person, I really want to love and support this place, which was the first gay resort in Guerneville. The owner, Teach, was so wonderful to speak with and we really want to be big fans...But they need to either step it up in their services, or lower their prices...because the basic offerings (at high prices) are lackluster. That said: the beds are SO comfortable, and it really is a beautiful property. The restaurant is lovely and the people are all warm and friendly. It's got a great aesthetic, and we really enjoyed the glamping tent to unplug for a weekend. Unfortunately, the amenities in the cottages don't justify the "luxury" price tag. This experience has put a sour taste in our mouths and we likely won't be back, which sucks because we love the area and the *idea* of the place! If Dawn Ranch is able to step up their hospitality services to match the price, and upgrades their couches, perhaps we will be back!! Update: we had Breakfast at The Lodge this morning and it was just fine. They did forget to bring us part of our order though. Again, for these prices, the service and offerings don't cut it Update 2: After seeing our review, the general manager, Teach, stopped by our cabin to apologize. He is very kind so I wanted to make sure to shout him out! The staff here are great and we don't have any complaints about them personally. This review isn't at all a reflection of how friendly the staff are. Teach explained that the parking issue was due to employees from the neighboring restaurant used the hotel parking lot which takes up spaces from guests....and that it *could* happen again. To our point - this is why dedicated parking spaces would make a lot more sense. He did give us a credit for breakfast which was kind. But this doesn't fix the myriad of other issues, including lack of hot water.

If you are going to advertise on Insta to Millennials, get ready for our long-ass and honest Yelp reviews! The rooms and bathrooms are super TINY and CRAMPED like a NYC apartment so forget going to the redwoods and river for peace, calm and serenity. There is only room for ONE bed, not even a chair or table in the room. The heater was loud so didn't sleep well. The guided tour of the forest advertised as an activity for guests was actually provided by a volunteer park ranger, not the property. We didn't try the restaurant, but heard from another couple that the restaurant was overwhelmed and that they got their dinner comped because service was so slow. We kept receiving annoying email + text messages trying to upsell us for a room upgrade prior to check-in and late check-out during the stay :(

Great location, food and staff (mostly). But the rooms are literally prefabricated sheds slightly dressed. The walls were so thin, we could hear our neighbors talking. And they have the nerve to charge over $700 a night! You've got to be kidding. These room are worth a lot less than half that.

We absolutely love the Russian River area, it's so woodsy and beautiful. Kayaking the river is an amazing adventure. There are excellent hikes in every direction and we especially love the Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve. There are a few cool shops and some great restaurants. If you visit the Russian River area like we do, you know that the accommodations can be hit or miss. There is nothing like Dawn Ranch, our new favorite place to stay in Guerneville. Dawn Ranch is a new luxury resort with tons of fantastic amenities like a full-service spa, saltwater swimming pool, kayaks and river tubes, yoga, an evening fire pit with s'mores, picnic blankets, and complimentary bicycles. The location could not be better, you can easily walk to Main Street with its great restaurants and funky shops and galleries, and bars yet, it's very secluded and private. We were able to check in a bit early and we headed directly to the spa. This rustic-luxe building looks like something out of a rustic interior design book. Beautiful finishes and fixtures and a very comfortable waiting lounge room area plus a shaded patio with lounge cushy chairs. We enjoyed the sauna and steam room before our really, really good massages. I saw pretty outdoor bathtubs -next time! Heidi and Shay were super professional and made sure we were relaxed. When I commented that I was sad to take off my butter-soft spa robe, she said I could walk to my room in it and borrow it for my stay. Ahh... We were surprised at how vast the grounds were. It's a huge property with a boat house (direct river access) a garden, an orchard, a meadow, glamping tents, small cottages around a shared "green" with lawn games and picnic tables, and Chalets, Cottages, one and two-bedroom Cottages, Cabins, Bungalows, plus, the Grove etc. Do your homework before you reserve your room because there is a wide variety. The Cabins are sweet but, petite and most of them are around the communal Green where there are lots of lawn games and picnic tables. This would be a great choice for a family reunion, wedding party, or girlfriend getaway but, it's not super private for a romantic quiet getaway. We love the Chalets for more peace, elbow room, and privacy. Check out the map and pick a room away from the road and closer to the creek for a more tranquil vibe. We stayed for dinner one night and really loved the "Lodge at Dawn Ranch." It's quite upscale for Guerneville! The food was great, the service excellent and we loved the leafy patio with great outdoor furniture and they even had live music. We were excited to ride the bikes but, never did because we walked to everything! The staff was terrific, especially Carrie at the front desk. We're already planning our next visit.

Business owner just copying and pasting apology but hopefully he will modify the check in staff because for the price they charge it is ridiculous and unacceptable.

We hosted our wedding weekend here and could not have had a more lovely experience. We utilized every part of the resort, floating the river with 100 ppl to their dock, welcome party at the boathouse, ceremony in the orchard, reception in the meadow, and afterparty (silent disco) in the lodge/bandshell. Alex, our coordinator was a delight to work with, Julie at the front desk made booking a thousand unique guest cabins a breeze, and the GM Teach was always close by with the calmest disposition to set the tone. PLUS, the food is absolutely incredible, we couldn't believe how well they scaled up our small food-tasting experience to catering for 150+ people!!

We had an amazing, wonderful experience at their restaurant. The food was beyond delicious, perfect and amazing. One of the best meals we've had in a very long time and that includes the fact we eat out a lot and were in NYC earlier this year. I highly, highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. In addition, the service from our server, Lynette, was A+++ as well as from the manager, Jennifer, who went out of her way to draw a map for us of a scenic drive to Santa Cruz where we were heading next.

We had a blast staying here. Quiet (& empty) during January. The front desk staff Teach was very nice as well as the breakfast host. We stayed at Bungalow 61. Bed was too firm for me and street noise was noticeable but the full kitchen with back door views were splendid. Comfy couch, nice dining table and new kitchen appliances. We were able to relax watching tv and played board games. Bridges, creeks and rivers on the resort and the 6 mins drive to Armstrong Redwoods were a plus! Safeway was walking distance. Taco truck was convenient. Don't order the veggie nachos. Hands down, we'd stay here again to hug redwood trees.

3 Stars - OK Stayed at Dawn Ranch during my most visit stay to Guerneville. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Parking was included and there is plenty of spots. We stayed in a Redwood Cabin during our stay and our accomodations were very comfortable. The bed was clean and mattress was comfortable. The bathrooms lack a bit of ventilation and shower pressure could be stronger but it was great. HOUSEKEEPING - Definitly the highlight of the trip. These ladies work their behinds off and do it with a smile on their face. When we needed extra towels for the pool parties they always had some for us. MAKE SURE TO TIP YOUR HOUSEKEEPERS. Some inconsistencies with the text service, we requested ice one day and they brought it out to our cabin, the next day we asked for another bucket to be delivered and they requested we pick it up at The Lodge. Wifi is also included and worked well for us during our stay. Also, wish they had more trash receptacles through out the property. I has piling trash on our porch, thankfully housekeeping was removing it daily. I took off 1 Star for the RESORT FEE, I know amenities like swimming gear, bikes and other items are provided but I dont need any of them and I didn't use any of them. The other star I took off because on our last day while packing up. I picked up a someones mouth guard from under the bed thinking it was my husbands. IT WASNT. Will I be back, yes. I have reservations for next year. But if I find a comparable place at a better price I would cancel it, its not cheap.

DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE. Very expensive and the worst communication I have come across trying to coordinate with a venue. There are many hidden prices and extra fees that were brought up months after trying to book/work with them. The restaurant staff deserves a star, they were hospitable and apologetic when food was slow.

Unplug, unwind- Dawn Ranch is divine! Warmest, most responsive team I have ever encountered...from check-in, to restaurant, and all in between! Perfectly clean accommodations, and comfortable beds/bedding. Perfect place to enjoy nature, fine food, delicious coffee, and/or just unplug. Best of all, you can do so with your doggos! Important details: -There are no TVs, clocks, or radios. -Thinking of dinner at the lovely on-site restaurant? Reservation prior to desired date highly recommended.

This is a slice of heaven. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Wi-Fi worked well for the occasions I needed to handle work stuff. Room was very modern and smelled lovely. Lots of fun games on the lawn for kids. Lovely foot paths and things to explore. Did not try the food or pool but both looked awesome. We stayed in the Sycamore cabin with our dog and son. It was a tight fit and even my little guy commented that we needed a living room. For the price, this is a very nice spot compared to some of the motels that charge nearly as much and are not nearly as nice.

Like other reviewers here I do want to love Dawn Ranch, and there are lovely parts of it, but overall experience is NOT worth the price tag. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cottages across the way. It was fine finding parking, the grounds are lovely on both sides of the highway. We paid almost $2000 for 2 nights and the rooms are pretty sparse. They need more hooks or things to hang purses, bags, etc. and more comfy couches/better decor. Overall for the price the rooms just felt pretty cheap and not worth the price tag. Also the after hours security is bogus, there was some guy jacking off and groaning loudly in the parking lot at 4am (I had to get something from our car). I called the security, but there's no cell service so I texted-no answer. The complementary Sat am yoga was lovely. If you use ALL the amenities perhaps the room price is worth it. I would look for other nice options before going to Dawn Ranch again. Like another reviewer said, they need to step it up or lower their prices.

We adore it. So peaceful. Beautifully restored cabins. Very small but sweet. The grounds are divine. Upgraded us for our honeymoon which made all the difference. I definitely would've been helpful if they were more clear ahead of time that there are two distinct different properties and you have to cross the highway by foot to get from the grove to the main property. Otherwise we had a great stay. LOVE the spa!!!!! Expensive but really clean and friendly and skilled massage therapists. We felt so loved and cared for. Excellent spa. I've been to spas for the same price that felt corporate and bland and this one was the opposite. The town of Guerneville is pretty funky but if you stay on the grounds of Dawn ranch most of the time, it's a nice getaway.

This review is long overdue! Our family of 4 (children ages 1 and 3) stayed at Dawn Ranch from June 30-July 2 in 2022. This was by far one of the best vacations we've had! The property was clean, very comfortable, and provided endless joy for our children, from all the yard games set up, easy walking trails around the property, and close location to other points of interest in Guerneville such as Johnson's Beach and Armstrong Redwood forest! We saw deer on our early morning walks, loved the baked pastries in the morning, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. This will be a yearly family trip for us! Just booked our next stay!

Beautiful grounds and accommodations. However, staff is struggling. Not very hospitality or service oriented. Seems like most of them are in training. Any small request was met with a no. With the price point I would expect better service.

Such a beautiful and relaxing place to get away from the city! Jason was SO accommodating....really added to our already fantastic experience! The food is amazing and wait till you taste the fresh baked morning goodies! Definitely going back!

Perfect weekend getaway spot or more! Dawn Ranch is located in the heart of downtown which is really convenient. The rooms are modern and clean. The grounds were stellar! I only wish there was a small mini fridge in the room to store our tasty winery and unique food discoveries from the trip.

Finally a destination worthy fun getaway in RR. Perfect location, first class facility w top notch amenities. If you need to label it: rustic redwood country modern luxury. I mean c'mon it's beautiful terrain and ownership just built around it. So impressed w this property that's very thoughtfully laid out and pup friendly too! EVERYTHING from a welcoming engaged staff to HVAC in each bungalow to an on-site restaurant: BRAVO. Imo it's a value rich no brainer and I'll be booking here throughout the year. Well done DR and much appreciated.

We had the most amazing stay at Dawn Ranch. the people were wonderful, the cottages were stunning, and the food was delicious. our waitress, Lynette Corona, was the BEST. Highly recommend booking a stay at this resort!

Omgosh!!! What an amazing place!!! Love love love it!!! Cabins are so cute, clean and comfortable. The staff is outstanding. The restaurant delicious. Everyone is so helpful polite and just all around amazing. There is a meadow for picnic and they loan you blankets to use. There is a woodland garden. Trails to the Russian river for canoeing. im just in awe over this place. They even have these lanterns in the room. Lynn went above and beyond the call of duty for us, thank you Lynn you are a blessed person and I won't forget the determination of getting us 3 rooms. I will be back for longer stay. I was looking for a quick getaway and stumbled across Dawn Ranch on my search. Let me first off say right away after I booked my stay, the staff of Dawn Ranch reached out to me to make me feel welcomed and excited to stay at Dawn Ranch. I inquired about an early check in and the staff of Dawn Ranch was able to accommodate and also did a complimentary room upgrade. Right off the bat, I was impressed with their hospitality. As for the tiny cabins, they are so cute and definitely a place that makes you feel like you are one with nature with a side of glamping. The rooms don't have any TVs but they have wifi and so many complimentary stuff this resort offers from bike rides to ebooks. I love how friendly the staff is and it makes you want to come back again. I think so many hotels and resorts forgets that friendliness goes a long way and Dawn Ranch have gone way out of their way to make visitors feel welcomed and relaxed. Love that rooms are clean and comes with high end luxury soaps. So many complimentary amenities in room as well. Great place for couples, families or groups.

June 2023 We stayed in the Sycamore Cabins. Along with everything else on the property, they have been remodeled with care and attention to detail. They are cozy and spare with quality furnishings - very comfortable. The grounds are peaceful and full of life and adventure -- from the garden to the river kayaking to the grass greens. But, the highlight of our stay was the wonderful staff. Heidi in the spa is an excellent yoga instructor, an incredibly knowledgeable healer, and is generous and friendly. Brett makes sure you're taken care of in the restaurant. Jonathan is on point for kayaking and all things grounds. The front desk staff is fun and lovely and they are delighted by your well-behaved pooch. Finally, the Lodge food is delicious, and the menu is top quality and healthy. Order an old-fashioned from the jovial bartender, David Eric, and you're in for a treat.

Made a reservation with Hotels.com and said pay at property. What a shock to find the hotel charged our account without authorization almost $700.00. When a called I talked with a lady who said she was one of the Managers, she was rude and dismissive. I asked to talk with the Manager or Owner and asked for there names. She refused, it is very important to share the following: California Business and Professional Code 17500, False and deceptive advertising is strictly prohibited. A company that violates the state's false advertising regulations could be help both Civilly and criminally liable. I believe in giving everyone the opportunity and solely based on how the Manager handled this situation without empathy or and care not to mention its been 4 hours and still no call back. The property looks amazing and we were very much looking forward to staying there.

I Love this place and the staff!!! Me and my Family went on a trip and didn't plan where we were going to stay. We came across Dawn Ranch and Wonder Woman Lynn went above and beyond the call of duty to get us 3 rooms. She is a god sent. The place is so Wonderful and peaceful. The staff is truly amazing, friendly and so kind. No matter how busy the bar was, the staff made sure they had a smile :) The little cute cabins are very clean and comfortable to say the least. Beautiful grounds and nice little hike to the Russian River. I will be going back for a long Stay and just to see Lynn. If you call to make reservation, please, ask for Lynn she is truly a Blessing...

Amazing place to stay! Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Property is beautiful and spacious with river access. S'mores around the campfire were offered along with a wine tasting social in the outdoor common area. We were able to borrow games from the front desk to play out on our cabin's patio. Pastries are dropped off at your doorstep in the morning. Bar and restaurant are closed Mondays & Tuesdays but the ranch is walking distance to Safeway and multiple restaurants and bars. We were informed all of the cabins and property has been updated and renovated since the flood a few years prior. Our room was cozy with an incredibly comfortable bed. We loved our one night stay in our cozy cabin thanks to friendly and welcoming staff and other guests! Perfect getaway!

Beautiful, modern and rustic. We come to Russian River once a year for my husband's family reunion. I was so tired of the old, outdated accommodations around the area and decided to splurge on dawn ranch. Very well worth it! The staff is knowledgeable and kind. Very warm reception at the restaurant bar with a Very good selections of wines offered. The grounds are well kept, with lots of out door games. Its so peaceful and well kept. The accommodations are well decorated and modern. Much nicer then all other resorts in the area, and well worth the decision to splurge. Loving our stay here! And cannot wait to book again soon. Leave the outdated Russian river resorts and come hangout a dawn ranch.

I had a perfect stay at Dawn Ranch. My room, on The Meadow, was in a quiet location. One special feature is that the hotel has plentiful amenities that makes one's stay extra fun - kayaks, binoculars, floats, and games can all be borrowed and are included in the price...no extra rental fees. Oh, did a mention that breakfast is delivered to your door every morning?! Staff is knowledgeable about the area and everyone on staff is super friendly. You can't beat the location. I never got in the car. The main street is a short walk away. So going out for coffee, dinner or drinks is hassle free. I'll be honest, you may choose to stay on property because it's so lovely. I took nice strolls around the property - there's a lovely garden and river access on the grounds. I also ate at the hotel restaurant and enjoyed it. Dawn Ranch knows how to maximize the potential for relaxation.

What could be great is ruined by the fact that their new chef serves frozen food. Shouldn't a restaurant be serving freshly made food? Otherwise, you might as well eat at home.

This spot was beautiful! Walking distance to many restaurants and shops in town. We had the Sycamore cabin. The cabin design is beautiful! Very minimal and neutral tones with quality appliances (mini fridge, bathroom). You do share a wall but it's the bathroom wall so not too much noise. Right on the property there is a restaurant and bar called Agriculture Public House (closed on Yelp but definitely not closed). In the morning, we found a box filled with scones and OJ at our front door . It's a huge property so you can walk around and see the river. Another plus is this place is pet friendly! We stayed for one night but we would definitely come back.

A lush & lovely hideaway in Guerneville. Pretty cool to be so close to town, but feel so secluded in your own little retreat. You're surrounded by trees and nature but have all the comforts of a modern hotel (pool, restaurant, parking). Our rustic cabin was $299/nt... ouch. Wine country prices. My friend got married here and it was a truly beautiful and memorable venue. I can't comment on all the nitty gritty of the wedding planning, but their staff seemed very professional and polished. And the wedding reception food was FANTASTIC - truly farm to table. If you want to feel a little extra classy while still enjoying the rustic charm of the Russian River, Dawn Ranch has you covered.

This place is incredible! Such natural beauty and beautiful grounds. The cabin was very comfortable and lux. Lynn, Julie and Kyle were so helpful and friendly at the front desk and we enjoyed meditation with Teach. We took advantage of the many amenities including bike riding, s'mores, journaling, corn hole, hiking with binoculars, complimentary wine for happy hour, and more! The restaurant on site Agriculture Public House was also fantastic where we had delicious steak for dinner and brunch in the am. Loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat.

Great location in the trees and away from the rat race. But be ready to chill as there are no TV's or Football....it is meant to be a relaxing get away. Take advantage of getting away and enjoying a small town. Be sure to eat at Sassy Momma's

I personally loved this place! From the bartender to the waitress to the manager. Food was great, service was excellent! I would come again!!

Great location that is close to downtown dining and Johnson's Beach. Kyle at the front desk recommended cabin #16 which was wonderful. Bed was super comfy and location was quiet. Teach welcomed us at check in and check out and you can tell he is a true professional. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Before I go any further, let's be clear: I had a four star experience here, this isn't a four star hotel. It's pretty rustic and silly, but it's a great place to rest your head, drink by the pool and get some selfies with redwoods. It's good for families, weddings, and a couple looking for somewhere more affordable north of SF. I love it, but it's not a Fairmont of a Four Seasons, so let's not pretend it is. I came here with a sick child (hooray) and a tired husband. The initial plan was to use this place as a pillow and adventure around wine country, Bodega Bay, etc, but you know how it is. When you make plans, god laughs. In my case, god cackles. We did our best to make lemonade and turned out trip into a cozy cabin iPad party, with pool naps and low-key Guerneville walks. By our final day we were doing more of what we'd hoped to be doing, but those first two Dawn Ranch days were still as good as could be. The staff was sweet, the atmosphere was restful and I'd recommend this place to anyone (provided they peep the property's pictures before committing).
