"Lunar Inn might look like your average dive, but this Port Richmond bar has great food - including things like fried chicken and cornbread, burgers, and pickled deviled eggs - and tons of local beers, ciders, and wines. They also really like playing vinyl (and have a huge collection of it), and host local DJ sets a few nights a week. But maybe the coolest thing about Lunar Inn is their onsite wine store, Tiny’s Bottle Shop, which is right behind the bar and has one of the best selections of natural wines in the city." - Sydney McElwee

Super cool spot! We tried out Lunar Inn on a Friday evening and had a great time. The vibes inside were intimate and fun, with nice decorations as well. The happy hour was fairly long which is great too. I will say that I didn't love the food we ordered, and service was slow although I think the staff may have been in training. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Port Richmond.

This place was a little hidden surprise! Dined here with a friend the other day for my first time. The menu had all the Philly brunch/lunch staples and the cocktail menu was really snazzy too! I ordered the kombucha mimosa and the huevos with a side of house pickles. When I think of home and Philly specials I picture what I enjoyed yesterday, thank you and YUM!

Google
Had some bougie sandwich & some luxurious schnitzel. It was very good. Lots of flavor in this cheese steak speciality sandwich. Schnitzel was butter & came with a sweetened pickled side. Both choices were excellent. Really solid food.

Had brunch there while walking and checking out the Richmond St shops and it was super chill. Cool atmosphere and high vibes. Being from Oklahoma I was excited to see biscuits and gravy (without sausage) on the menu. Take the Girard 15 line if you want to avoid parking. Parking is doable but may be a challenge if you aren’t skilled at parallel parking.

Decided to head to the Lunar Inn for a couple drinks on Saturday afternoon. Really glad we did. This was our second time there since the New Year. The atmosphere is funky and they play really good music from actual vinyl albums. Service was excellent both times we were there. For drinks, we ordered the Beet Elderflower Margarita and Half Acre Bodem IPA. The Beet Elderflower Margarita is a phenomenal, well balanced drink and is what brought us back this second time. The Half Acre was also good. We decided to get some apps even though we were planning to head to Byrnes afterwards. First up was the Poblano Pimento Cheese dip. I’m not a fan of pimento cheese but the app was really good. It was spicy and the crostini and 1/2 sour pickle slices that came with it were the spot-on accompaniment. We then ordered the Beet Pickled Deviled Eggs. Also, really good. If you like pickled eggs and like deviled eggs you cannot go wrong with it. (I apologize. The pictures were taken after we started eating the apps and they do not do the presentation justice.) Lastly we left out the back to Tinys Bottle shop. Picked up a bottle of red. Have not had it yet but have high expectations given the quality of drinks, food and service at the Lunar Inn. Only drawback is parking is tight in the area. Regardless, we will be going back to the Lunar Inn and will probably venture on to their main dishes.

Google
a really good spot for the neighborhood, the BLT is one of the best i’ve ever had. fries are also thick but retain their crisp. you can tell they really care about what’s coming out of the kitchen here.

Google
Great local restaurant and bar with a fun atmosphere and great staff. Had the Chicken Biscuits and Gravy earlier today for brunch and it was incredible! Will definitely be back. Awesome drinks as well!

Pretty nice & friendly neighborhood bar. Exposed brick architecture inside. Pretty relaxed and casual ambience. Been there for drinks and brunch. Liked it so far

Yelp
Decided to venture a few miles out of our neighborhood to this cozy spot in Port Richmond one rainy Saturday evening. Arrived around 6 and easily found nearby parking and got a seat inside right away. Service was great as was the food. A DJ was setting up to go on around 7 but unfortunately we left before she started. Will definitely return!

Yelp
(to the tune of "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman, Luke Combs, everyone basically) I've got a fast car (Ok, not that fast, but it gets me anywhere) Headed to Port Richmond A place called Lunar Inn - I knew I had to share This place is better, For any age patron (my toddler too!) Their food is really something, And their cocktails are GREAT (even when Zero Proof) Yes, you could drive your car, But the 15 Trolley takes you right there, And they've got a wine shop next door This spot's affordable, not gonna spend too much money They're always hosting events And it's surprisingly close to get into the city, Love the disco balls, Try the specials - one bite and you're SLIVING! The Lunar Inn is a TRUE hidden gem. It's just up I95 (or a DIRECT hop off the 15 trolley from Fishtown) and the dinner is DIVINE! I also loved it when I was pregnant and looking for a truly exceptional mocktail. The bartender REALLY took care of me when I was pregnant. BUT now that I'm back on the sauce - one tip: GET THE PICKLE MARTINI!!

Yelp
Stopped in on a Wednesday night for some food and drinks. I had a beer and my friend had a drink (don't remember what it was). We each had burgers. Everything was really really good! Our waitress was awesome and it was a friendly vibe which is always good! They were setting up for karaoke. We didn't stay for it but it but if you enjoy it, that's the night for it!

Yelp
Typical Philly shit: Cool ass bar/restaurant with a warm vibe, decor on point, rad staff, clever and deliciously executed food and cocktail menus, great wine and draft list blah blah.. but what Lunar has that most other bars don't have? SPEAKERS IN THE BATHROOM. So choice. Josh & Keith were DJing, dropping banger after banger, I was on my third glass of wine and had to hit the can, but I didn't miss a beat because Lunar is not fucking around and music is important

Yelp
The Lunar Inn is half the reason why we fell in love with Port Richmond! Such a cool bar, always have a great beer menu and speciality cocktails. The staff are friendly and super knowledgeable. They often have true Disc Jockies come in and perform. They will also play games on a projector from time to time. Whether you go for brunch or dinner, you can't go wrong. The food is good! I'm not talking if you're from south Philly you need to drive up north to try it, but if you're local, it's worth a visit. Usually have a rotating chicken sandwich, and other special items. Fairly priced - I just wish some of their starters were larger. For instance, their deviled eggs only comes with 2 whole eggs cut in half, and some other appetizers are a little light. Their sandwiches certainly make it up for it though - there is no skimping on these. The MUST TRY here for me is their special sauce with their fries. One of the most unique sauces I've ever had. It's good, and I don't even know how to describe it or what's in it, but it definitely makes the lunar inn unique from that standpoint. The vibes are great, solid food and drinks, fun people, and affordable.

Yelp
It was packed on a Saturday evening (dinnertime), but the noise level was surprisingly tolerable even with the DJ playing records in back. I'm often kind of cranky about that kind of thing, so serious respect to them for having a festive atmosphere with good music that wasn't also deafening! Our server was friendly and super patient dealing with our questions and indecisiveness. We loved the food, wine, cocktails we ordered. Definitely worth a repeat visit. I'm curious to check out some of their events!

Yelp
Came for lunch a few weekends ago and it's a cute little spot. We didn't sit inside but opted for the outside sidewalk seating so that we could sit with our friends dog. Very nice of the staff to set up the table and chairs for us. Good selection of cocktails and beers. We had the snack board which was a mix of a lot of their appetizers/small bites. It had the beet deviled eggs, mushrooms, pimento cheese dip, pickled veggies. A nice little sampler for a fairly good price. We had the sesame noodles with the sambal tofu which I thought was good but wanted a little more punch of flavor from the tofu. The grilled cheese had a lot of pickled veggies in it that cut the richness of the cheese but I wish there was a bit of sweetness to cut the acid as well. And then another friend had the chicken sandwich which looked good. Overall cute neighborhood spot with a lot of potential!

Yelp
Best Lox I've had in a long time. Lox, pickled onions, cream cheese on a pretzel bun. Mhmmm mhmmm. I love the decor. Reminds me of the old bait & switch. My friend got a bowl of cheesy mushrooms with small bread pieces. Coffee was real good and not too zippy. Service was excellent. No wait to be seated. I really was impressed. Will go back 10/10

Yelp
I had already committed to patronizing this local spot: The burger was solid, the beer was cold and the place was clean. I'm just not a big fan of businesses displaying their social views, (whether I'm with them or not) it's stupid. One and done for my crew.

Sharon B.

Yelp
Emily, actually came to our home for a 40th anniversary celebration and private wine tasting with our family. Every wine (natural) that we tasted was delicious...sparkling wine from Mexico, white from Spain, Riesling from Germany, red from Portugal and of course two reds from France. So interesting and fun to learn about each wine and the vineyards. Can't wait to enjoy the Lunar Inn in person soon!! Emily, thanks for making our celebration one to remember!!

Mike Q.

Yelp
Food was good! Their fries are tasty: they're like town fair/festival fries you would get at one of the vendors. They seem hand cut, decently thick, crispy and well salted. The burger was good. Patty was flavorful and juicy. I do wish it was thicker. They throw shredded... lettuce/greens on top that do a great job of keeping the sauce together. I did not love the bun, there was something about the texture. They seem to have a good selection of craft beer. It's covid so I didn't get any but I'll be back and think you'll enjoy your experience here too.

Geoff P.

Yelp
Been wanting to come here for so long. Finally had the opportunity and it lived up to the hype in my head. The wine selection is excellent, service is great and really helpful, and we loved the food. I had the Caesar and it was nice that the Tuscan kale in it is shredded; it was dressed perfectly. As an add-on the fried chicken is super crispy and I can't wait to try the fried chicken sandwich. Also, for anyone who likes some heat, I can't recommend the tofu sandwich enough. Definitely going to return to try their cocktails and more of their dishes

Cynthia L.

Yelp
Amazing addition to Port Richmond neighborhood! Food: The standout so far has been their Brussel sprouts dish that is made with a really amazing black oyster garlic sauce. The menu includes a variety of bar fare like wings, burgers and even a fried chicken sandwich. Drinks: If you're a gin fan, I recommend the "Mold Fashioned" made with Blue Coat and Kombucha They also have a range of draft beer and affordable canned beer The Vibe: Exposed brick walls with eclectic touches like a drum set reworked into a kind of chandelier? Not sure exactly how to describe it, please see attached picture! Overall has the feel of a modern (read: inclusive) neighborhood bar.

Emiliano T.

Yelp
Super cute place with a welcoming vibe and excellent food and drinks. Decor is fun and inviting. Menu with many great options highlighting local products such as pickles from Fishtown and local beers, spirits and ciders. They also didn't forget five Port Richmond props with Czwerz products. Our kids 6 and 9 also enjoyed the foods and the atmosphere. Cute bottle shop with a unique selections attached!

Yelp
I came in with my husband for the first time and had a great experience. The staff was super nice and helpful, inside the restaurant is very cozy, and the music is rad. I had a mocktail (lavender lemonade), big fan of that. We started with a special appetizer and the yams. Both dishes were delicious. I had the cacio de Pepe for dinner and that was pretty good too. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful little spot. From the cozy vibes, to the eclectic vinyl that's always spinning, to the creative yet accessible menu, the amazing drinks, and the very cool staff, this has quickly become my favorite neighborhood place in Philly. I feel really good about spending my money here. DO NOT MISS SUNDAY BRUNCH. The eggs benedict is the best in the game, and the biscuits will blow your mind. 14/10, highly recommend.

Yelp
Found this place by happenstance, and couldn't be more pleased. Neighborhood corner bar, walked in, good 70's disco pulsating through the place, staff was dressed in 70's attire.. Apparently 70's night is a regular thang, but bonus is that they were celebrating their 3rd anniversary. Everyone in the place was upbeat and happy. Drinks & Food were wonderful. Nice way to get back to normal socializing post-pandemic. We will be back for sure.

Jamielea C.

Yelp
First time coming here was yesterday. Amazing food, great music and the staff are all very nice too. I tried the bacon burger and it was one of the best I've had. The meat had a crust to it but it was so juicy and perfectly cooked. The bread and fries were perfect too. I also tried one of their specialty cocktails, something with lavender in it. Will be going back soon!

Pamela S.

Yelp
Great addition to the neighborhood! The taps are always rotating so there's something new to try with every visit. On the menu, the meat plate, fries, and pretzels are great choices to snack and share.

Cheryl W.

Yelp
Great service! Loved the wine and HH food! Vinyls playing to set the mood. Awesome space for a relax with friends or mate. Will definitely return!

Valerie P.

Yelp
Dropped in for brunch, the menu is standard brunch fare but well done. Lots of interesting beers on draft , cocktails are fun and everything well priced. I had the burger and was very happy with everything. Bartender was friendly and patient with my indecision/questions. They play vinyl and have good decor, great vibe all around. There is a small courtyard out back and an attached bottle shop for wine/beer.

Melissa J.

Yelp
The Lunar Inn is a great addition to Port Richmond! They've got a few ciders available along with great food (try the wings, the deviled eggs, in house made pretzel, and the clams). They've got a great happy hour as well!

Mairead A.

Yelp
Very cute location and they offer really good cocktails, not the mention the staff is really friendly.

James H.

Yelp
Best fried chicken sandwich for the price in the city. Best laid back bar vibe in the area. Best bar styling (mid-century? eclectic?) And bar tending (Sean?) on that side of Port Richmond. Best French fries in the western hemisphere. Would recommend, but please don't ruin it by making it into The Ghost of El Bar Past, fellow patrons. This place is something much more than some random hipster rendezvous haven. It's different, and that's good.

Corinne L.

Yelp
Great people, great ambiance. Super happy with this place! Will definitely be back once I'm in Philly again.

Oliwia P.

Yelp
Food is OK, kind of strange menu and they don't execute it very well. Staff is too casual-borderline rude. I guess they are trying to appeal to the neighbors by being casual but they are clearly not from this neighborhood. Neither are the people who eat/drink here. I had high hopes for this place

Aundrea R.

Yelp
Everyone who works here is super friendly and welcoming. Love the ambiance and the few veg friendly options they carry.

John M.

Yelp
Good beer, decent food list and a very friendly bartender. Wished they had more non alcoholic/low alcoholic drink options for my buddies who are trying to cut back, but overall it was a nice time.

Laura P.

Yelp
GET THE FRIES. cucumber salad is nice. A modern day Cheers with carefully cultivated music. Interesting beers and drinks. Lovely service. AND they have a big screen for sports games. Can't beat it.

Steve D.

Yelp
This is my new favorite place in town! Great food, good people, awesome music and drinks. This place has a great vibe. I've been there a few times now and have never had a bad experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Danielle M.

Yelp
Lunar inn has become a go to spot for me in this neighborhood. Incredible vegetarian options and drinks. Great deals during happy hour and awesome staff.

Tom I.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Great little neighborhood bar and restaurant. Very laid back atmosphere abs the staff was super helpful and attentive. The vegan options were great, from the popcorn to the cucumber salad to the vegan burger. I will be back. They actually play records too, it a great little addition to the neighborhood.

Jackie P.

Yelp
Great burger and fries. One of the best I've had. Great draft list, good specials, and reasonable price for quality. Happy to have another great hangout in the neighborhood.

Lisa K.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Everyone must check out Lunar Inn. First stopped into tiny bottles and was greeted and chatted with Sean. Very knowledgeable and welcoming. Wine can be overwhelming but gave great recommendations. Great beer selection too! Went over to Lunar Inn and our server Emily was the best. We started with the meat plate and cucumber salad. To die for! The night we went they were doing a special event with pizza. I hope they include it on their menu full time. The prices were super reasonable for the high quality of food. This place is a must! Venture up from Fishtown to explore this gem. Will be back soon!

Yelp
A Neighborhood Bar with a Taste above the norm. Sometimes it is a bartender that can make or break a place especially now in the 'new' Port Richmond a neighborhood in transition. Bartender Jason manages with his mellow and yet enlightened approach to do just that. He knows his menu down to the 'craft beer' crowd as well as the comfort that the traditional crowd seek. He is approachable to all and gets a good laugh when offering his recommendations and specials. As Port Richmond straddles the old Polish/Irish and the new early gentrified crowd a person like Jason is in many ways an ambassador without an attitude. The menu with its kale caesar and vegan/vegetarian symbols stands proudly alongside burgers old fashioned clams in white sauce and the in-between daily hoagie specials as a unifying force amidst a confused and often suspicious 'hood.' I applaud this joint and shout out the wisdom in hiring someone like Jason to pull it all together- rarely is it done with such finesse and abiding good will. Go there- its so much fun and has some good drinks and food to be enjoyed by all!

Ken F.

Yelp
I've eaten here quite a few times, the food is pretty pricey for what it is and so are the cocktails. It's a shame because I live a few blocks away and would go here more often if it was better. Service is never great. The staff is extremely hipster and takes their sweet time with everything. The kitchen tends to be quicker than the bar. Last time I was there I ordered their specialty cocktail "Summer" Gin and Tonic. It took over 15 minutes for the bar tender to make and tasted no different than just mixing some mid shelf Gin with some Tonic. The lamb and chick pea tacos were weird. I wasn't expecting ground lamb i was hoping for something braised and shredded and the flavor really seemed to have no direction. Gigante Beans were OK but the Focaccia Bread they give you with the beans is actually very good. I'll probably still go here occasionally but only out of convenience because it's the only place right around here open for dinner.

Joe J.

Yelp
This bar has great staff and they are always pleasant. It definitely seems like it represents the upcoming side of the neighborhood and not the old guard. Vibe is super chill and I would deem it more a relaxing bar most of the time. Great for people with dietary restrictions also

John G.

Yelp
Such an amazing addition to the neighborhood. I have been there twice once with family and once with friends. Both times we had a great time. The food, drinks and crowd were all enjoyable.
