Where to Drink Sangria in Ann Arbor | Eater Detroit

"Eclectic vegetarian restaurant the Lunch Room is known for its filling sandwiches and burritos, but in warm weather this spot keeps also plenty of sangria in supply. This season’s batch is a mix three types of wine, triple sec, vodka, dark rum, elderflower liqueur, and orange bitters. The drink is served by the glass or in a pitcher with strawberry, basil, and grapefruit garnish." - Alexandra Schmidt

If you are ever in the Ann Arbor area and don't eat at The Lunch Room ... Well, I can only assume it's because you're going to fall too much in love and then be sad because it's not closer to you!!! If I could give this place 10000 stars I would! BUT NO REALLY is it possible to love somewhere more? If I lived in the area I can see myself stopping by so often, the ambience of the entire space is too good. So much natural light, the friendliest service, a fantastically large menu, the best coffee, rotating pastry specials .. and I was only here for breakfast! Here's everything we tried: 💚 Josh's Bagel Sandwich - sooooo tasty and I ordered a plain bagel to go because it was one of the best I've had in my entire life (NYC comparable!) and I regret not getting six! 💚 Avocado Toast - we ordered this both times we went as a starter to share and it was 🤌🏻 I don't know if I'll find an avocado toast I like more. The fresh crunchy bread, perfect avocado, red onions (my fave!) 💚 Jake ordered the breakfast platter and it was so tasty. A perfect mix of everything! The tofu scramble was soooo good! 💚 S'mores scone..... Was..... So..... Good. And not included here was, without a doubt, the best brownie we have both ever had. 💚 The COLD BREW!!!! THE COLD BREEEEEEEWWWW 💚 The Billie Jean biscuit was one of the most flavorful and unique items I've ever eaten. The biscuit itself was what I dream of and the maple Dijon sauce set this sandwich offfffff

Nice Vegan cafe, good nearby parking and seating inside. Food was delicious, and the Chai latte was really good. Definitely coming back here.

Google
Came here for breakfast and was able to get service quickly. I love their little two people booths. A unique feature that was so cute and cosy. Breakfast sandwich was so much smaller than the burrito but I was still pretty happy with it. Delicious and all I needed. Affordable coffee too, with a lot of milk options, including some flavored creamers.

Google
The top shelf that top shelf restaurants aspire to be like. 100% vegan. Amazing vibe, amazing staff, amazing food, amazing baked treats. Nothing bad to say about the place whatsoever. Took my family (5) and tried a lot of stuff. Every bite from even picky eaters was met with “wowwwww!!” responses. Staff suggestions and help were so thoughtful and warm. WILL return and 100% recommend. If you come to Ann Arbor once only don’t miss this gem!!!

Very kind staff, delicious vegan food, making it perfect for a brunch cafe. The atmosphere was cozy and the green trees outside made me feel at ease.

Google
The bahn mi dog is delicious! The bun especially has such a nice texture. Good bread makes all the difference in a meal! The atmosphere is very chill, pleasant place to enjoy good food, high quality coffee or tea for a great price. I’ll definitely be back ❤️

Google
Very friendly staff, delicious vegan food, and a cozy environment! It sits right across from the VA hospital and is adjacent to an apartment building--very convenient for those who are working/living/visiting the area. I ordered breakfast tacos. Very big portions and very flavorful! Water, napkins, condiments, and utensils are self serve. The interior design is cozy with tall windows and high ceilings. Very suitable for a date or a place to chill and enjoy some alone time. I recommend this place and would definitely visit again!

Google
This is one of my favorite food spots in Ann Arbor. Everything is absolutely delicious and the prices are so good for the amount of food you get. I work 9-5 Monday-Friday, so I rarely make it here, but whenever I have the opportunity to, I do!

Yelp
Love me some awesome homemade vegan food! Everything I have tried so far is delicious!

Yelp
Such a cute place! I would of loved to enjoy my lunch on their outdoor patio if I wasn't in a rush. Super cute, simple and quiet, kind of hidden away from the street, loved it! True their tofu bibimbap bowl and a bunch of pastries. The bowl was okay, I felt like it was missing a little sweetness, would try something else next time I'm in, but overall not a bad lunch. The monster cookie was incredible!! Not just for a vegan cookie, like over all of the cookies I've ever had this is in the top 5! Would love to get my hands on the recipe lol The blueberry cream cheese tart was a good, super flaky dough, great filling! The scone was a little undercooked, I had to scoop out the middle part of the uncooked dough, the strawberry curd was super fresh and it complimented the vanilla scone well. Can't wait to be back and try something different, again try this place out, you won't regret it

Yelp
I order twice a month from the Fuller Court location. The food has been great. The have your order ready and fresh. The location, the great customer service, and easy feel location to the hospital.

Yelp
This little place, hidden behind the VA hospital, has an eclectic vibe. This is my first visit since before the pandemic. Indoor seating is no longer available but there are a couple tables outside (in the shade around 2pm) with a pleasant breeze, and a takeaway option. I ordered a banh mi and a nacho hot dog, but there were other costumes available for these common American sausages. The menu also has sandwiches and other options. Unexpectedly, the dogs ended up being soy dogs in fresh homemade buns jammed with great mixtures. The banh mi was crisp and fresh, while the nacho boasted a pleasant heat. Textures of the veggie mixtures were both unique and pleasant. I believe this to be an unusual spot and expect to return in order to escape UM north campus.

Yelp
New obsession!! I've tried so many things from here and they are all amazing!! Can't go wrong! They are the friendliest staff and so fast.

Yelp
The breakfast burrito and tlt wrap are so good, a pretty outdoor area along with a nicely decorated interior and the staff are so lovely. Don't forget to try out their sweets! Hank needs a raise for creating that delicious sweet focaccia. 5 stars will be coming again!

Yelp
Tried the bibimbap, which makes for a healthy and filling meal (i had leftovers). also had a delicious cherry muffin. staff is very friendly, the way people who are actually happy are. interior is simple but comfortable and has big windows providing a relaxing view. baked goods sell out daily and are announced on the website in the am. (tip!)

Yelp
Pretty cool place for a plant based breakfast. This one is located on the ground floor of an apartment complex which can be a little confusing. You'll need to be careful when pulling in and leaving also, as the parking is a little tight. Anyway the food is pretty good and reasonably priced, so worth checking out if you're nearby.

Yelp
This is a charming lunch spot . The portions are generous and the food is always delicious.

Yelp
Love having so many vegan options and especially breakfast. Had the Billie Jean and it was amazing

Roberta S.

Yelp
The food is excellent. It's a comfortable, relaxed environment. You can order from the table using the phone or order at the counter if you don't like tech.

Yelp
I stopped in to this location today (just now at 11:30 am on 11/10) and it was my first time finding it even though the Kerrytown location closed a long time ago. I actually didn't know this location existed until a Kerrytown shopkeeper told me. So, it was already a new experience. I didn't know how to find it, didn't know which way to drive into the parking lot, but I was excited to have some of my fave yummy vegan food in Ann Arbor. Well. I never made it past the front door. I was stopped by not one but 2 employees in a row - not asking me how they could help me or anything welcoming and friendly. Are you picking up a takeout order? Have you placed an order? The vibe I got was WHY ARE YOU HERE AND WHY WOULD YOU DARE TO TRY TO ENTER OUR RESTAURANT?! These overly anxious and guarded folks told me not to enter, to read the menu outside, that indoor dining is not available (I saw the sign guys, it's well marked). It was so off putting that I told the woman who came out to check on me as I read the menu that I am vaccinated and masked. I don't understand why I can't walk-in to place an order. I decided not to dine today and I do not know if I would return to this out of the way and bizarrely managed location. Look, I'm aware there's a pandemic going on. I've taken all the precautions and I feel for restaurant workers who are overworked and underpaid with public facing jobs. In fact I tip extremely well even on takeout because I am aware and empathetic to their experience. But I also know that this establishment has an owner who cares greatly about her staff and I am sure they are being well taken care of. I don't even have objections to extra precautions in a pandemic. But it's all in the approach. The vibe was so bad here that even though my stomach is growling with hunger and I can't get vegan food where I live, I am driving away from this place and may never look back.

Yelp
The food here was fantastic! We tried quite a few things: French Toast cake, fudgey brownie, beet bagel sandwich, Quarantine breakfast burrito, chuna lumberjack. The cake was very soft and served cold-multiple layers of cream and cake-honestly it was quite decadent. The fudgey brownie was one of the best vegan brownies from a restaurant that I have had, great texture. I was impressed with the quantity of food in regards to the breakfast burrito and the chuna lumberjack. They did not skimp; lots of fresh greens in the chuna lumberjack, and a sizeable amount of "tuna salad" mixture on top. The beet bagel sandwich was delicious. The cream was great, the bagel was great, both housemade. When we were there, we had to order online, and then pick up curbside. The online ordering platform worked well and was easy to use. You can simply show up when they "estimate" your order to be ready, call them, and they will set your food out on a cart and step back inside. You can then grab your food. The restaurant is in a nice location, you can walk on some of the trails nearby while you wait for your food. I wish that they had an outdoor table or something to sit at, as there were lots of nice shade trees. As it were, we ate some sitting on a sidewalk somewhat nearby, and we took some on the road to go.

Yelp
Disappointed in the Packzi's this year. I had one two years ago haven't stopped thinking about it since. So this year I hiked all the way to the Fuller Ct location to pick up a box that I pre-ordered weeks in advance to discover mediocre donuts with no raspberry filling. Apparently they had listed the flavors in fine print on the order form despite showing a picture of raspberry ones. On top of the lack of my favorite flavor, the packzi's were cold, not very fatty, missing powdered sugar in large patches and the cream filling was bland. It seems like they got used to being the only vegan packzi in town and let the quality of the product slip. Next year I will make my own or go without.

Yelp
For anyone who is considering going vegan, this is the place to go to understand how gastronomically-inclined people can do it and still live blissfully. Most vegan free tastes like a "mock" attempt at making "regular" food. But with the lunch room, you don't feel like you miss anything at all. I am a huge fan of their mac and cheese. I've also tried a wrap and Vietnamese sandwich, and thought both were delicious. I'm also not sure what brand of chips they use or if the chips are house-made, but their chips that come with some of the meals are delicious! In particular, I was glad to be able to introduce this place to a friend of mine who is vegan not by choice but because of health restrictions, and who needed some cheer.

Yelp
I feel like every time I'm in AA I make a most needed visit here, even if it's out of the way, I'm always trying to see how it can fit into my route! It's a pity some of the options are only available at this bakery location which is a bit out of the way when it's snowing. But, to the food! So I love the breakfast options! The tofu biscuit? (Which, I don't know why, but it tastes so much better than the version in the downtown location, and it's cheaper? )But my greatest impression is the medley of sweet and savory, warm and flaky, tastes and textures. I also really like their beet bop bagel! Let's see, for salads, I think I only tried the southwestern one which had tortilla chips and salsa and lots of substantial things! But it is super filling and you'll def get a food coma. So for lighter options I would prob prefer the salad that is more raw but warm. Their baked goods are also very captivating. I would love to see them a tad less sweet, but I still like the options and always window shopping their glass display. The staff are always super friendly and accommodating. This is a nice quiet location to just sit and relax on your own, possibly study, and just enjoy a meal. Writing this review is making me reminiscent of the biscuit ahhhh!

Yelp
Smash smash smash - vegan perfection. I wish I took a picture of my food but it disappeared so fast. I got a biscuit sandwich and it has some kind of crack coconut bacon and dressing that was amazing but the bakery is where it's at. I'm not joking - not one bad thing so you might as well order a few. The whoopie pie was a shock! I wish I got more than one it was probably one of the best deserts I've ever had. I also had the sea salt cc cookie, cinnamon roll cupcake and brownie which were amazing as well. This place is addictive I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
A very enjoyable and healthy lunch spot. I was waiting for someone to be done at the hospital across the street and always wanted to try it. I had the Billie Jean Biscuit sandwich with baby spinach, tomato, avocado and marinated tofu. Other half, the Beet Bot Boop. I love the cashew cream cheese! I am not a vegetarian but definitely feel better when I lunch like this in the summertime! Prices are fair, the atmosphere is open and airy.

Shawna M.

Yelp
I eat here every week because I'm vegan and love their food so much. My mom and I usually order lunch food but decided to get breakfast today. It was a great choice. We both had an order of pancakes (couldn't even eat them all because they're so thick) and the Grand Slam breakfast. ALL of it was absolutely delicious! I loved everything. I was never a fan of steamed spinach before but totally love the seasoned steamed spinach in this breakfast plate. I could easily eat a whole plate of that alone. I always have loved avocado and still do and love the way it is seasoned. I also love the tofu scramble and the sausages and the toast. I definitely will be ordering this combination again. I'm so full and still have plenty of food left. The amount of food you get easily makes two large meals. I'm so full but can't stop eating the tofu scramble. :D

Yelp
So far, the limited menu is great. The seating is quieter and nicer than the original location, too. And as I expected, the food is phenomenal. I had the Bi Bim Bap and the soup of the day and was reminded of just how much I love the food from The Lunch Room. It's not a place of glamor and style, is a place of great affordable food. It just happens to be vegan, which means that almost anyone can eat it, not that it's only for vegetarians.
google avatar

Kristen K.

Yelp
This place - like their cousin, the Detroit Street Filling Station - is consistently fantastic! So glad they're doing curbside pickup to keep up with COVID restrictions. My only caution: they seem to follow the mysteriously popular thinking that Vegetarians & Vegans like spicy food. If you're a spice wimp like me, I'd either ask the helpful staff or assume it's spicier than you'd like.
google avatar

Laurie B.

Yelp
Great customer service. I ordered the vegan bibimbap and it was delicious. Called ahead to place the order and was promptly greeted and handed my food. Quaint little restaurant just across from the VA hospital. Will make this a regular lunch option. Highly recommend!

Yelp
So I have officially completed the Triad of the lunch room Bakery, kerrytown spot, and Detroit street filling station. I have my pros and cons to each, and a lot of comparing points. First, as usual, I love how this place is ALL vegan. Yes, even down to the sauce. I'm a vegetarian, but I love how everyone can eat here. The burrito I got was chipotle-sized, which shocked me SO much. I've come to only expect extra large burritos from chipotle or qdoba, so when I got this one AT A VEGAN SPOT, I was blown away. The stuffings we're delicious AND HEALTHY! That's the key point - I know I'm not stuffing myself with garbage then feeling bad about it later. The prices were really good, which was something that would make me come here over the other spots. This place was affordable, prices that I'd pay at normal restaurants. See, coming into vegan spots I acknowledge that it's likely going to be more expensive because of ingredients. This place wasn't so, and I liked that. I'll be recommending to others from here on out. So walking in is where I dock of a star. The inside is unfortunately really run down. The seat cushions were falling off, and I thought it was just mine until I (humorously) watched someone slip off their seat. The tables were older and very permanently stained, so I didn't feel this spot was as clean as the others.

Yelp
Delicious and Friendly! Had lunch today, just the three of us. I had the Rueben sandwich - tempeh with corned beef seasonings - skipped the kraut and onions as I was trying to go more for the Jewish Deli corned beef sand. It was delicious. My daughter got the Bon Mi sandwich and she said it was wonderful. Tofu cooked just right, with the spices in the coleslaw. Perfect. And then the youngest had a proper PB & J on hearty bread. We all walked out of there feeling more than satisfied...and really enjoyed the cordial, friendly, even, kind hearts that work in the kitchen. Carry on, my vegan creative chiefs!! Brilliant experience today.

Yelp
Delicious food, relaxed atmosphere, awesome friendly staff - what's not to love? We're so lucky to have the Lunch Room Bakery and Cafe near North Campus. They really care about their customers and making good food. It's a fantastic spot for breakfast and lunch or just to grab a quick coffee or baked good. My current favorites are the TLT wrap for lunch and the grand slam plate for breakfast but you honestly cannot go wrong with any menu item here. And definitely grab a cinnamon roll while you're there; they are out of this world.
google avatar

Leslie S.

Yelp
Food was amazing! We got two breakfast sandwiches. One was called the Hangover Cure and the other ... I don't remember the name, but it was a biscuit sandwich. Would have given 5 stars, but all employees didn't seem very enthusiastic or happy. I'm never asking for people to be over the top, but maybe smile or be friendly? Too much to ask? Place was super cute and I wish I lived closer. Decor and food helped make up for the service. Maybe it was just a little too early. I did love how they make everything from scratch. Even the bagels looked homemade. Definitely worth visiting!

Yelp
Always delicious fresh food. Great service. Salads, sandwiches are made to order. Bakery items my fav is the monster cookie.
google avatar

Christina R.

Yelp
I stop here frequently whenever I'm rotating at the VA. Be sure to remember your federal ID badge, as you'll get a discount. Everyone is always really friendly. There is a good amount of seating inside and out. My only suggestion would be to expand their menu. Pros: - Great, developed flavors (which makes a big difference with vegan foods for me!) So good for omnivores :) - Gluten free options - I have never had a bad baked good here - everything is good! - Good portion sizes - Friendly staff Cons: - Tortilla chips are bland
google avatar

Yelp
When they just started, they were giving off coupon for $5 off, and free cookie with any purchase. Definitely great deal with the coupon. They surely make vegan dishes very taste. I ordered Bibimbap with tofu and brown rice. It's rich in flavor, and you don't feel unsatisfied due to the lack of meat. It's fun to try vegan food sometime even I definitely love meat. If you like tofu, you will like this place, as tofu is the most frequently used substitute for protein in vegan place. I'm surprised the vegan cookie can be very flavorful too. It doesn't taste like vegan. I tried their salad at another time. It's pretty nice too. I wish they can open during weekend.
google avatar

Paul W.

Yelp
A vegan restaurant seemed like a risky bet here since it likely puts off many potential customers, and these seem to have been in short supply in this locale, considering this is the third cafe I've seen in this space in 10 years. But, based on my single visit, I'd say it's got a fair chance of a longer run than its predecessors. I ordered the tempeh reuben salad. Couldn't ask for fresher vegetables, and while it came with a very small portion of the housemade Russian dressing, that had plenty of tang to season the large bowl of greenery. The tempeh itself would never pass for corned beef (which I'm quite familiar with, not being vegan myself), but it had a saltiness which stood out pleasantly against the slightly sweet dressing. I have a feeling I'll be looking back fondly on this place when eating salads elsewhere.

Yelp
Although I frequent the other two locations a lot more, I do love going to the bakery every so often. It's just not near my house or downtown so it's a little bit of a "trek" for me. I did come here on my birthday though!! My husband I split the breakfast tacos which were delicious and we got a whooole lotta pastries to have there and take home. You get a free cookie on your birthday, which is great!

Yelp
I'm from the Grand Rapids area and got lunch here yesterday because my dad was in the VA hospital in Ann Arbor. The restaurant is doing takeout only, which I didn't know until I arrived. They were so very kind and watched for my order so that my mom and I could get our food quickly and not have to wait long outside. I mentioned that my father was in the hospital and were a little frazzled and thanked them for their attention. When we opened our food, there were two gluten free cookies and a note wishing our father/husband good health. It was so kind and meant so much to us. I also happen to have celiac disease and it was the best damn gluten free cookie I've ever had! Thank you so very much to this establishment and the kind people working here.

Adina J.

Yelp
Good food that happens to be vegan. Quality baked in-house breads, bagels, pastries, and cakes. Ordered items: Beet Bagel, Blueberry muffin Price: Reasonable Ambience: Casual and cozy with booth seats, warm colors, and art. Tip: Come during the spring/summer, grab something to go, then enjoy your food at the huron river behind the building housing the bakery. There's a trail shaded by trees and spotted with sunlight, following the railroad tracks and river. My order for the Beet bagel came quickly with a short five minute wait. Cashew cream cheese was tangy and garlicky - I wish I could buy a jar. Bagel was very chewy, so if you like crisp bagels you may not like it. Muffins are ready to go in seran wrap, which makes it easy to enjoy in intervals, and without a mess. The whole thing is like a giant muffin top - no boring, dry bottom. Slight crunch of sanding sugar makes it addictive; but don't worry, the serving size is healthy and satisfying.

Yelp
What Ann Arbor does well is vegan. This place along with Detroit st filling station, it's the best vegan food ever!

Brad F.

Yelp
Order a few things to test the variety and let me say, no disappointment at all! Ordered the Billy Jean, the Tempeh Reuben, and the breakfast tacos. All three are amazing here! Will be back for another visit soon!

Paul S.

Yelp
Excellent!! Another great dinner from The Lunch Room !! We enjoy many items on their menu, but today's favorite was the Chicken Pie!! Great comfort food with lots of flavor and veggies. Our 96 yo mother said it was Great!!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised. This is a vegan restaurant, and I'm a die-hard carnivore. However, it works. It works very well. I had the Billie Jean Biscuit with avocado. My lunch companion got the everything bagel, and I don't think we said much, we were too busy enjoying the food. The natural soda is pretty stellar as well (I got the root beer). I'm pleasantly surprised. Very, very good fare. I'll be back.

Yelp
I have to keep a semi restrictive diet that's made easier by just eating a vegetarian/vegan diet. Finding food that tastes good has been a struggle, but this place really nails it. I had the 'chili' cheese dog and it tasted so good! I'll definitely be coming back with my wife to try everything else on the menu.

Micah K.

Yelp
Love how kind and friendly everyone is here. My food has always been prepared well and comes out beautiful.

Yelp
With The Lunch Room in Kerrytown being my all-time favorite restaurant, you know how I feel about The Lunch Room Bakery & Cafe -- it's the best. The food? Incredible. Amazing for vegetarians, vegans, and even meat eaters alike. Their breakfast specials on Friday mornings hands down account for some of the best ever meals I've had. Since it's a bakery, they also create some of the most decadent and delicious vegan desserts, and they're always trying something new and unique (but still classic and risk-free). My biggest problem with this place is having the willpower to not eat here very single day.

Yelp
I'm finally writing a review for my favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor! Actually, it's my favorite restaurant anywhere. Yes, it's that good. I've been eating here for a few years, but end of 2017, I moved to Ann Arbor, so I eat here at least once weekly. The food is amazing! These guys "get it" when it comes to having vegan food that is tasty, affordable, and even on trend. They have done their homework to make delicious, healthy, and even comfort food options. As a celiac who can't eat gluten, I've never had an issue here with cross-contamination when I order gluten-free dishes/options. Yes, it does get busy and yes, it's Ann Arbor, so you might have to search for a parking spot. Both are not hindrance for me. Nope. One thing that I love about The Lunch Room is how amazing, kind, friendly, and fun their staff is towards customers. I always feel welcomed here and well cared for as a customer. The owners are simply beautiful souls and do a lot of great work in the world as humans and business owners. My favorite to order is the Southwest Salad. This is the best burrito bowl in town. My second favorite is the Tempeh Rueben Salad, which includes yummy flavors and textures. You see, they understand how to balance things with crunch, spice, sweet, sour, soft, and savory in all of their dishes. I love their Hearty Chili. It's so warming on a cold, wintry day. I've enjoyed their Buffalo Salad too. Soy curls are one of the yum yum things on their menu here and they season them so wonderfully! Creative humans are responsible for these dishes, I tell ya! I also LOVE the Power Up Bowl. Some places in town try to offer healthy bowls, but the servings are so tiny. I love spending $10 on my dinner here and I don't ever leave hungry. I can't believe some would criticize that this place is "expensive." Umm, go look around at other plant-based options around town and you will see, The Lunch Room's prices are amazing! The Lunch Room has divine baked goods. I sometimes get a gluten-free cookie or cupcake, which makes my heart happy. Not many plant-based places "get it" about how some of us vegans also are celiac. (Greenspace in Ferndale, MI is about the only other place I have eaten that gets it!). It's like we are forgotten at times, but not at The Lunch Room. The Lunch Room is a great place to take your omnivore friends and family. I mean, it's not like anyone will die not having meat for one of their meals, hahaha! And, to be honest, I don't think you'd miss meat as an omnivore here. You can get soy curls or tofu or tempeh and well, beans! This restaurant is a true treasure in Ann Arbor. Those who criticize that the staff isn't perfect need to do a gut check about what it must be like to be a server or professional in the food industry. These are demanding jobs on all levels. Also, I've seen some criticize that it's not "kid-friendly" or "family friendly" here. It's a small restaurant, but I've never seen anyone with kids be mistreated. I mean, it's always nice when people hire a babysitter for those of us who don't enjoy loud babies or kids. That's just manners. I highly recommend The Lunch Room and I will be a customer for life!

Yelp
First time I ever went. Food was amazing. I came a few times after, it's a hit or miss. But mostly, food is very savory! I recommend trying it !!

Yelp
Best vegan bakery, hands down. They serve their breakfast menu all day, which is of course a plus. The bagel sandwiches are delicious and great for breakfast and lunch. If you are a bit hungrier they also have sandwiches and entrees! Also, the baked goods are to die for. In addition to delicious food, they are always giving portions of their profits to charity and standing up for human rights of their employees and the community!

Yelp
Great food. There is lots of seating indoors and out, but the amount of parking is woefully insufficient. On a Thursday at noon when they were not at all busy, we had to circle for 10 minutes to find a parking spot. (There are lots of parking lots nearby, but they all have signs saying that cars will be towed.)

Yelp
I can't believe this has been around for over a year and I have been missing out on the delicious vegan food! I am so happy to have found it and plan to make up for lost time. I had the wheat biscuit breakfast sandwich with avocado, tofu, tomato and bacon flavored coconut bits. The biscuit was fantastic and the freshness of the vegetables made it an awesome sandwich. The desserts are wonderful, too! I believe you can get espresso drinks as well as teas. Check it out!

Yelp
This place is a real hidden gem on north campus! As a student living nearby, I've been eating here a lot since its opening. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious, fresh, and vegetarian/vegan-friendly. The bagel breakfast sandwiches are available all day, and I am a huge fan of the beet bagel sandwich, which I've had twice now. The tower toast w/ peanut butter was also super tasty (real thick, like Texas style) and good for a breakfast to-go. Perhaps the most filling item for the cost is the super hefty bean burrito, which comes full size and with the works: avocado, salsa, cashew sour cream. For lunch, I've also enjoyed the falafel salad and corn chowder. Their baked goods seems to rotate on a daily basis. The cookies are tasty but too pricey for the size, and strawberries & cream brioche was good but not particularly unique. My favorite baked goods so far have been the shortbreads slices: I've tried the pistachio shortbread with chocolate and the lavender shortbread and loved them both. They also offer limited amounts of fresh focaccia and baguettes daily! I haven't had a chance to try the baguettes but the focaccia went perfect with some pesto spread I had at home. Lastly, they serve Mighty Good coffee and TeaHaus tea, two of my favorite local businesses. I've enjoyed ordering a teapot to enjoy with a friend.

Yelp
Honestly SHOOK this place is vegan because oh my god it was amazing. The staff were so nice. The crammed up space actually gives the place a vibe. Love love love

Yelp
Come here almost every day - short walk from the University of Michigan Art & Architecture building. Great spot to grab lunch or get some work done! I love the soup of the days, the Billy Jean biscuit, hangover cure bagel, and the dogs! Trying to spread the word about this location as not many people know about it!

Yelp
Hi. I'm 8 years old and I LOVE THE LUNCH ROOM! I like the ones at the towers because if you live in the towers then you can go down to the lunch room all the time. But I don't live at the towers yet. I love the nachos and the breakfast tacos and I also love the lemonade. And the best part is you can have self serve water that is free. It's all vegan and most of the stuff is gluten free. They have great breakfast options and also brunch and lunch options. Now that there's a lockdown we get carry out. And the main lunch room is also great too. I love their nostess cupcake. I love the lunch room!

Yelp
Yay for the new location!!! I'm a huge fan of the kerrytown Lunch Room, it's so nice to have another more accessible option. Service is wonderful and it's nice to have parking and more seating. I ordered the hangover bagel and the loaded hash towns and both were amazing!
