"After five years of brunch and afternoon tea in Edina, the Lynhall No. 3945 served its final meal on August 24. The restaurant, which debuted in 2020 as part of the Nolan Mains development, was the Lynhall’s second Twin Cities location; the original Minneapolis outpost became a private events space in 2023. Owner Anne Knipe says the team will now focus solely on events at the flagship. DDP Restaurant Group, led by chef Daniel del Prado, is slated to take over the space." - Jeffy Mai

The lemon vanilla funfetti cake with prickly pear panna cotta and raspberry filling is a customer favorite, but the minimal cookies-and-cream cake and sophisticated pistachio passion fruit cake are also exquisite. The farmhouse-styled interior is an ideal, cozy spot to enjoy a lavender latte with a creamy chestnut-and-mushroom omelet, or a gruyere-stuffed croque-monsieur. "The Lynhall feels like an upscale version of a neighborhood coffee shop, with plenty of natural light, communal wooden tables, and an esoteric assortment of ceramic crockery and gleaming metal vases on the shelves behind the bar. They do brunch every day, but the menu is bigger and has some gems you can’t find during the week, like a shakshouka with chickpea fries. The bakery has excellent chocolate croissants and savory galettes, but you can also just go big and order the pastry board that comes with five different pastries to share. In addition to the usual boozy brunch suspects, the cocktail menu includes an interesting breakfast martini made with gin, vodka, orange cordial, marmalade, and orange bitters." - Stacy Brooks
