Yelp
I was staying downtown and looking for a place for lunch. To Yelp! Mostly, I found a lot of places selling burgers. That is ok, I like burgers. However mostly what I was seeing was the normal pub style fare, until I happened upon The Map Room. They were not serving a run of the mill, bacon cheeseburger. Their specialty burgers do seem to run pretty meat heavy, but a very interesting and eclectic variety. Also, you can build your own. I did opt to build my own. I have an adventurous spirit, but I was worn out and hungry and just wanted goat cheese! My comfort cheese. Lol. I got a burger with said goat cheese, roasted red onions, and the LTOP. I didn't want the pickles on my burger, I just wanted to eat them. It came with a side of fries.
What I got was a beautifully cooked smashburger with a healthy portion of creamy goat cheese and perfectly roasted red onions. The bun was toasty and warm and the veggies that were placed on the side, were fresh. The fries were also great. Hot, fresh, crispy, potato-y. I ate the hell out out it. I had not eaten and was flying out after I left, and it kept me going. It was so satisfying. Also, the prices were better than the other, rather uninspiring, options in the area.
It is not a big place and I purposely came in a bit later, after the lunch rush would have died down. I could see it getting really full. I was able to come in about 2 and make myself cozy at a booth, without getting in the way.
