Downtown’s midweek tradition returns May through October with expanded 2025 hours, live music, and certified producers. Confirmed by the Downtown Fresno Partnership, it’s a great window into the city’s small makers and lunch-hour crowd.

Yelp
I give this market 3 stars only because it is sooo small. I'm pretty sure it's sponsored by Downtown Fresno Partnership and sponsored by Civic Center Square - which is really cool of them. This market takes place on Kern St. between M and N Streets, only on Wednesdays (10:00 am - 2:00 pm) from April through October every year. It is totally geared toward people working or visiting downtown; people don't come from across town for this market. Which is totally ok! There are a couple stands selling veggies and a few more than that selling fresh fruit - I get all my stone fruit and grapes weekly during the summer from this market. I visited today for the first time this season and noticed one or two additional stands, yay! I was really excited about the gentleman selling dried veggies and seasoned nuts. If you haven't tried beets chips and crispy green beans, you need to get down here! He has a big variety of veggie chips and most of his packages looked like they were $3 which is a good price for these goodies. I hope Rappit Up comes back this year! Besides the produce, I love that this market usually has music playing (live acoustic or DJ) starting at 11am - 1pm. How cool is that?? Also, they have a couple stands to grab lunch: Casa de Tamales, a stand with juices and kettle corn, Sanchez Corn (they offer corn on the cob with all the toppings as well as kernels in a bowl which is no-mess!) and Butternut Baking Co. with baked goodies.

Yelp
Sadly, this farmer's market has not grown over these five years it has been around as I had hoped. I don't think a lot of people come from other areas of the city so the audience is mostly the downtown workers. The hours have changed to 9-2 and there isn't live music any more. The Twee trailer has moved on elsewhere. There are fewer vendors than when the market began in 2012, but still a decent selection of fruits and veggies. More prepared food vendors than in the beginning and I've noticed some small tables and chairs strategically placed for those who buy food and would like to eat it on Kern. Sure would like to see more participation so this could be an even bigger and better farmer's market. Like I originally wrote, we need a farmer's market downtown like CUESA runs at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. Heck, even Clovis does a bigger farmer's market on Friday nights.

Yelp
I was very pleased with the kettle corn smell. They honey and fresh fruit from local farms, they even give you samples. Very convenient if you work downtown fresno.

Yelp
Love all the fresh fruit & produce. I always get a delicious mangonado. Free samples and great prices. Friendly vendors and a little bit of everything for everyone. Love that it's just across the street from work. No better place to spend lunch than outdoors.

Yelp
Every Wednesday's starting the month of May, the Market on Kern Street opens. There's about 7-10 vendors here... usually closed at 2PM. They sale fruits, vegetables and food.

Yelp
I just started working in downtown Fresno 5 months ago, and was so excited to know this is literally a few blocks from me. Today was the first day it's open this season, and I enjoy the atmosphere a lot, a beautiful day I was a little disappointed only because there were just a handful of vendors to visit, like 15 booths.. I was thinking way more. Like selling merchandise, crafts, toys... The venders there were great, just so little of them. The plus side is all the vendors I went to accept debit/credit (thankfully because I didn't bring cash ) They are all very nice too. I've added a few pics with info on the pic. I will see it again next Wednesday just to see if it steps it up. There was music in the background which was nice. First impression is, if I didn't work down here, I wouldn't go out of my way to go. I think I went too late, next week I'll go when they open instead of at 1pm... stay tuned

Yelp
I've been wanting to stop by for a while, but my schedule rarely allows for such a break from the routine. This market is in a great location for those working downtown. It is a small farmers' market with some great lunch options (kettle corn, gelato, tamales, helote) and a few cute craft booths. If you're looking for a huge event, you won't find what you're looking for. But if you are looking for a good reason to ditch your office or cubicle, grab a fresh meal, some fresh veggies or fruits, and to support your local growers, this is a great Downtown Fresno summer tradition.

Yelp
I'm a fan of this market. It's a great stop when I'm running errands in downtown Fresno. It is conveniently located near the Civic Center, so it draws a lot of government workers during their lunch break. This is their second year and I have no doubt it will grow every year. PROS: -Inexpensive produce compared to other farmers markets -I adore the diversity of vendors. I can buy natural skin-care (including non-toxic sunscreen) from Aroma Salud, Fresno-themed gifts from Twee Boutique, fine cheese from Chateau Organic Fresno, and organic produce. -You can buy produce for your house and eat lunch at some of downtown Fresno's best restaurants...all in the same area. -The area gets busy during lunch but parking has never been a hassle. There's a parking lot and on-street parking. Well...it's a hassle if you don't have change. CONS: -It's new so it's still a relatively small market. WEDNESDAYS 9AM-2PM APRIL TILL END OF OCTOBER

Yelp
Good options, albeit a small farmers market compared to others in Fresno. Excellent strawberries, peaches and plums in season. Try the grilled corn - it's excellent!

Yelp
Brand new farmers market in Downtown Fresno, CA. The peaches are awesome! Every Wednesday from 10am-2pm through Oct. 31.

Yelp
Great market! Today had plenty of ripe stone fruit, berries, tomatoes, vegetables and herbs. Fresh pastries, cupcakes, and brittles. Hot food from Casa de Tamales, kettle corn and others. Also crafted items typical of farmers markets like jewelry and soaps. I just may have to bring two bags next week.

Yelp
Such a fun market, the food is great. The produce is always farm fresh. Everyone is very friendly!!

Yelp
What a treat on Wednesdays(!) especially for those working nearby. The market starts at 9 and ends at 2, but the busiest time is definitively lunch time. There were two organic produce vendors there when I was browsing last Wednesday, and I was able to buy some organic vegetables that are typically hard to fine as is.
