Worth every penny and more. I had the Avocado Toast and Hash Brown, with an Arnold Palmer, and everything was perfection. The staff were all personable and warm, the atmosphere was pleasant and not loud at all, and the wait time was minimal. 10/10 all around.

We stopped by for a late breakfast. Cut off time for breakfast/lunch was 11:00 AM and we grabbed a patio table at 10:58. No problem. The staff accommodated us without hesitation. I had a breakfast burrito and my wife had a standard eggs-sausage-potatoes dish. Both were very good. The food arrived quickly and hot. Only four stars for atmosphere since we were on the patio on a busy street, but the interior looks very inviting.

This was a great place for a group of us to grab some dinner before we went to a show at the CIBC theater. This is a hustling and bustling after work style bar and restaurant, the wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had a group of nine and we were able to get our food and drinks served quickly and correctly and zip out to the theater for our show.

Another great place in downtown! I went there for lunch with some buddies. The outside tables are available too so that you can enjoy food and nice Summer weather. The food was great quality and and short waiting time. Delicious burgers! The server and other staff were very kind. I recommended this place to anyone!

Hosted a private event here for about 75 people and was so impressed with the level of service and the incredible food! I would come back again just to eat the food! The owner was so easy to work with and really accommodating for our event needs. Also loved the atmosphere. Highly recommend and will be back!

Overall, a very nice spot for casual dining at a fair price. Our group had three of the sandwiches with fries, the nachos and the fish and chips. We all enjoyed our meals. The charcuterie board was not a big hit...the hard cheese was HARD. Other than that it was a great pre-symphony meet-up restaurant.

Great place for an upscale breakfast for two. Menu had a variety of offerings and coffee tasted so good. Our server, Emilie, was attentive yet not overbearing. We'll be back on a non-rainy day to enjoy the patio seating.

Great place for an after work happy hour! Charcuterie board had really fresh meats and cheeses. All the appetizers were really good and the specialty drinks were tasty.

We made reservations at this restaurant for about 30 people. It was awesome because we were able to enjoy a great meal, each other's company, and had no problems splitting the bill. They were able to split the bill between us all and processed all of our credit cards individually (Google wallet tap and apple pay too). The appetizers alone were amazing and we ate every bite. We were so full by the time the main entree came that I had to take most of it home. Here's what we got and my thoughts on them. Appetizers: *Carnitas nachos - the chips were amazing. I think they were made in house they were crispy and delicious with the most delicious nacho cheese. *Hummus - the bread alone was so delicious and you add that hummus and it was *chef kiss. * babaganoush - it was better than I thought it would be. I actually ate some. Not my favorite appetizer but I still thought it was pretty good. Entrees: *Marq burger - didn't get to try but my friend enjoyed it. * fish N chips - didn't get to try but half our group got it and they seemed to enjoy it. * carnitas tacos - I didn't enjoy it as much as the nachos because it had no cheese, but it was pretty good. It came with pickled red onions and jalapenos. *southwest salad with pulled chicken - delicious. My friend gave me some and I ate it all. Refreshing and has these little chips in there. Desert: *Cannoli - wasn't my thing. It wasn't sweet and it had pistachios on it. * chocolate mousse shooters - it was pretty good. Soft and gooey when you use the spoon it came with but not soft enough to use a straw with (yes, we tried). If you like chocolate you will like this. We found out the best way to eat it is to mix and then down it like a real shot. Overall, the place was cozy with nice servers and good food. Would definitely come back. Thanks!

We went to the Marq for breakfast on our second day in Chicago. My stomach was a little upset so I just got two eggs over easy and some dry toast. The eggs were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. My companion got the avocado toast, which she loved. The staff were nice and friendly.

Great food, service was excellent and the vibe was cool. I'd definitely recommend this place as an after-work hangout or a place to meet friends for drinks.

We went during peak lunch time and did not have any wait time! The Intern sandwich was flavorful and delicious but a tad too oily for me. The steak salad was ok... it was tough to chew on. It was quite loud in the restaurant with all the work related lunches going on.

Stopped in for a very light meal. Wonderful cream of chicken soup. Fresh veggies and big pieces of chicken. Sweet potato fries very good too. Also, the service was prompt and friendly.

The Marq is a good place to come following work for a drink or to meet up with an old friend. This establishment is relaxed and the service is super quick. I tried their boneless wings, hummus tray and pull pork nachos. I also indulged in the blueberry Cadillac for a cocktail and it did not disappoint. The wings were great sizes and they weren't too bready. The flavors were standard and the chicken wasn't dry. The hummus was top tier. Super creamy and favorable and their pita bread is legit. It's not hard or too soft. It was cooked/ prepared perfectly. I'd recommend this app to any vegan or non vegan. Their nachos were actually made correctly. Most places will pile high their chips and dump their toppings leaving you with inconsistency as you go through the chips. At The Marq, they layered it correctly. Each bite was filled with the toppings and it wasn't heavy on the stomach. My cocktail was amazing and I recommend that for your whiskey lovers but also for those who want to try dark liquor but don't want to really taste it.

Its all about the presentation! And the taste definitely was there too. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Very accommodating for preferences like subbing normal fries for sweet potato. Staff was very friendly and always there when needed. Will be coming back!

Went for a nice relaxing lunch. Service was great and menu had several options. I got one of the chicken sandwiches and it was stellar.

What a perfect place to have dinner with a group of your colleagues! After an weeknight event downtown a group of 10 of my colleagues, including myself, were pretty hungry. Enter The Marq, which is conveniently located downtown and has something on the menu for everyone, with modern American fare and a modern feel and full bar. We made a reservation for 8:15pm and were seated promptly. Service was super - the owner is also incredibly nice -- and we ordered right away. With how big our group was, we tried almost everything on the menu and everything was tasty. I really enjoyed my steak and roasted potatoes. It's typically hard to get a table for 10, but The Marq is great for groups! Not to mention, we felt it was incredible value. Did I mention they serve breakfast, lunch snd dinner? We'll certainly be back and encourage you to try it out for yourself!

It's a go to place when I visit my client in Chicago. I haven't been there for dinner, but for lunch it's outstanding. I always order either Cesar salad with salmon or Greek salad with grilled salmon - I love how it's prepared. I think the portions compared to prices are out of balance - other than that, it's solid.

Good food. I even made a few substitutions, and it was not an issue. Friendly staff and not over crowded. Good food, but not great.

Other dishes we had were fine. But the Marq burger I ordered was overdone and super dry. Not recommended.

I really enjoyed eating here. It was well into brunch hours (on a Thursday) when we dropped in, but we were received and seated promptly. I ordered the carnitas griddle, which was great, but it was more of a sweet than savory flavored meet. It wasn't bad, just different. Served over cubed and baked potatoes along with pickled onion, and under a fried egg, this griddle was pretty good. I ordered Noah something a little less ambitious, a commuter breakfast sandwich. I went with the English muffin instead of the croissant. Supper fluffy egg, cheese and bacon sandwich...simple but delicious. Did I mention the fluffiness factor of the egg(s)? The coffee was great. I don't think the OJ was freshly squeezed. The location was easy to find, was clean and presentable. Totally affordable. I shall return next time I'm staying in the Central Loop area.

Great weekday breakfast spot for travelers and locals. We enjoyed the standard breakfast, a breakfast burrito, and French toast. All were terrific.

The Marq is a good go-to spot for business lunches downtown. The menu is pretty basic as it has all the familiar menu items you'll see at most restaurants or even at a sports bar. Along with the menu, the restaurant lacks decor and ambiance but has a nice centerpiece as the bar. The only decorations in the restaurant are big screen TVs (no sound) along the walls, featuring sports highlights and the news. The front of the restaurant has hightop tables that can comfortably seat six people or eight tightly. Towards the back of the restaurant you'll find tables that seat two and four people. On my visit with a group of work colleagues, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich on Ciabatta bread instead of a brioche bun--and suggest you do the same. The pulled pork was served lukewarm and flavorful but in that standard kind of way....the spices didn't linger after a bite nor did the taste. Two colleagues ordered Caesar salads with chicken and both complained the salad had too much dressing. However, they commented on the chicken to salad ratio being perfect. I can see The Marq hitting the mark for tourists or work travelers looking to grab a familiar meal after a long day of walking or working. The service is quick, the menu is simple, and you can catch a glimpse of news or sports highlights without the feel of a sports bar.

Get a margarita with their special burnt chili salt. It's unlike anything I've ever had, is hand made, and is amazing.

The food was absolutely amazing! I had the Marq Falafel and my boyfriend had the Marq burger. Both were exceptional. We finished with the flan that was also amazing. It was built more like a cheesecake than a traditional flan, but still delicious. The service was great as well, our only problem was with how dark it was. We were sat in the back with only a candle at our table, away from any of their over head lighting. It was kinda awkward, very close to eating in the dark. I would still 10/10 go back!

The food is the reason to go. It was a wonderful surprise. My falafel sandwich was perfection, fresh and perfectly crisp. My daughter had a kid's cheeseburger and she loved it. My husband had the nachos and claimed they were the best he'd ever had. Your chef is clearly the winner at this establishment. The ambiance was meh.. a little cold and generic. On the plus side it was clean. The service was awful. Our server took our order and delivered our bill... that is all. It's good that we liked our meal because either way the server did not seem to care one bit. The hostess was also bussing tables and looked annoyed. She watched us walk out and didn't say a single word. It was so strange! Not sure we'd return.

Below is what we ordered: 1. The marq burger: DO NOT get this if you like burgers medium or medium rare. This burger had THICK patties stacked that were VERY VERY well done. Consistency eating them was like overcooked crumbly taco meat. That aside the cheese and the accompanying sauce was good-- but barely enough to save it. The server warned us that chefs only cook to a specific temperature which to me was surprising. First establishment I've been to that refuses to take a temperature request. 2. Steak Salad: This was fantastic and perfectly cooked. We devoured this faster than the burger and begrudgingly finished the burger after the salad was done. The chimichurri dressing was divine. I never thought I'd say this but at this establishment.....get the salad and not the burger.

For the Loop, this is as good as it gets! The food is good, the service is good, and it works well for large groups and work happy hours.

Went here for lunch and we sat outside. Fast service and amazing burger. It was a big size and it tasted delicious. My dad ordered the tacos and he liked them too. We will definitely be back!

Let me tell you, those carnitas nachos are RIDICULOUS. I couldn't get enough of them. I loved their selection of drinks and really enjoyed the blueberry cadillac. The service was fantastic, the staff couldn't have been friendlier. I can't wait to come back and try more!

I came here with co-workers after a work event. It's a cool, low key space. Perfect for grabbing drinks after work which is what we did. We also decided to order food along with our drinks. It was a rough day so I ordered the marq and a dirty gin martini. And man oh man was my burger awesome! Seriously! It's been a couple weeks later and I am still thinking about! Get it dressed with all the works. So delicious! And my martini was wonderfully made. My friends also enjoyed their dinner and drinks as well! The service was ok. Could have improved a bit here. I remember them not giving me condiments for my burger. Some people like ketchup, mayo and mustard! All in all, I will for sure go back!

It is unfortunate that I need to write this review, but I think it's important that others avoid a very unpleasant experience if planning a team event at this establishment. We arranged to have a happy hour at the Marq for a new program we were launching. It was a great event, we had food, drinks and excellent service by a server named Jenna. The problem came at the end. We paid our bill and continued to hang out, finishing our drinks and ordering additional drinks from the bar. We had an area stanchioned off designated for our party. At least 30 minutes later we were alerted that our original bill was incorrect and drinks were being charged individually opposed to one agreed upon rate for the allotted hours. Totally fine, but a member of a group made mention, what if we had left? Would they have just charged the difference, credited and then charged? Is it because we were still there that circumstances changed? Enter Arturo. I believe he's a manager, but instead of talking through the contract and a mistake made on their part, he proceeded to say that we outstayed our welcome. Mind you, no one asked us to leave our designated area at the restaurant and the place was not full. He said that we were being charged this new amount for continuing to be in that space, he also made mention that our group was extremely loud and guests were complaining. There was laughter for sure, but no one was screaming or causing a ruckus. Also, if we were disturbing other guests why were we just now hearing about it? Having worked in the restaurant business, I was appalled at how Arturo handled guests. We asked to speak to another manger and we were told that she was unavailable. We ended up paying the new total and left, but we also left with a bad taste in our mouths. Hopefully management reviews this and works hard to not have anyone else have this experience.

Dined with a large group, convenient location to walk to from hotel. it was really busy around happy hour on a weekday, nice facilities & vibe overall- but a bit challenging to hear conversations. Charcuterie board was pretty amazing. Meatball appetizer also good, mezze & chips & salsa were average. Entree steak was good, good portion for me but not for a big eater. Liked that it came w arugula. Miso salad was a bit overdressed for my taste but overall tasty & next time I should order dressing on the side as my colleague did. There was a ridiculous delay with several of the entrees- so much so that 1 person gave up & canceled her dinner & others didn't start eating until others were done. unacceptable especially for a pre fixe situation that they knew there was a large party-But our poor flustered server was extremely apologetic & communicative. Dessert was adorable- petit fours. Not everyone in our party liked them, "too sweet" Overall hits & misses- server was lovely, busboys were totally on top of things, food was variable & thank goodness we had good company or the wait would've been terrible.

Looking for a good burger and hotel concierge recommended The Marq. Took the walk over and got a nice seat at the bar and Nicole kindly took care of me . The French martini she made was so yummy and hit the spot. The food was phenomenal !!! The place was so good I went back the next day for lunch. The best burger sign did not disappoint at this spot !!

Delicious!!! Came here with a friend for dinner. We had the hummus to start with and we both couldn't believe how delicious it was! The pitas were lightly toasted and seasoned and the hummus was jazzed up too with some seasonings and tomatoes. I had the chicken sandwich for dinner with the sweet potato fries. The sauce on the chicken sandwich was so good - not spicy, just flavorful and perfect. The sweet potato fries were so good too. Wish I lived closer so that I could go back to try more things on the menu!

Great place to stop for dinner before a show! We are here before seeing a show at Symphony Hall. The service was great and there were great options for a satisfying, casual meal. I went with the falafel pita and it was very tasty. I also shared the Brussel sprouts with a friend and they were delicious. I would return if I am in the area!

It wasn't amazing, but it also wasn't terrible. Very average place to go for breakfast. Between two people, we ordered three breakfast menu items-- yogurt and granola, a toasted croissant with butter, and a breakfast sandwich. Our waitress didn't write any of the items down (which is pretty common) so we didn't think anything of it. When our food was ready, she brought out the granola and croissant, but no sandwich. We thought that it was just coming out shortly. But after 5 minutes and since our waitress didn't even mention the sandwich, we went into the restaurant to find her and inquire. She said she didn't hear us order that item (but I think she just forgot since she didn't write it down). They did comp us that item, which was nice.

Best place to grab a quick drink and small lunch. Salad and sliders were amazing. Because of my sweet tooth the cheesecake I had to try and was glad I did. I think everything on this menu was great but I only had three.

A perfectly solid Loop sit-down restaurant for a work lunch or dinner, complete with pretty elite fries. I came in with my work team on a Tuesday around noon and found The Marq surprisingly crowded, but they were able to quickly get us seated without a problem. It took us a while to get the menus sorted out (a problem that could have been solved if my group just googled "The Marq menu," but alas. Once we ordered, the food probably took about 25 minutes to arrive. They were very busy--probably busier than expected, but when most of the diners are there during work, speed is pretty critical, so that wasn't ideal. When the food arrived, one member of my party had to leave so asked for a box. 5 minutes later it hadn't come, so she had to leave. But the food itself was very good. I got the burger with a fried egg and a side of fries (a perfectly standard work lunch, as far as I'm concerned). The buns were two top buns, which was a little weird, but I thought worked well. The patties were pretty large and flavorful, and the egg added a nice touch. The fries are battered, and as such, are nicely crispy, and were the star of the meal. The speed of service was not ideal, but I think that can be forgiven as the Loop ramps back up to work, so I'd recommend overall.

BRUSSEL SPROUTS | OPEN | CHICKEN SANDWICH Brussel Sprouts: Monica and I had their Brussel sprouts without bacon. They were delicious. They were tender, and a slight crisp, which makes us think they were flash fried. Overall they are in the top 4 Brussel sprouts we have ever had. OPEN: the Resturant has an open concept where they try to separate into three distinct vibes. The first section is medium to large tables 4-8 people. In the middle is the bar which is the focal point of the restaurant. The bar has seats all around it which give it a communal vibe and there are 4 TVs off to The side of the bar. Lastly, there is the back end which is more intimate with tables of 2-6. Although it's open, the noise doesn't travel to far. Chicken Sandwich: their chicken sandwich is Very impressive. First the chicken hangs over the bun on all sides. You will definitely be full after this meal. The chicken has a good amount of seasoning but the most impressive thing for me was the light crisp of the sandwich. Normally, places fry their chicken too much, but the chef here has it just right. Pro tip: reservations are a must Friday and Saturday night from 6-8pm. Pro tip: try their fries with bbq, there are a great appetizer for the table.

I had the fried chicken sandwich. It was quite good but nothing outstanding. The service was an average speed for lunch rush and the atmosphere was pretty standard.

Was hoping for more, but as it is, this is the kind of place you can safely send your family to grab a meal if they are staying in a hotel nearby. It's not great, but it's not bad, and there's enough general options (burgers, straightforward entrees, a basic list of desserts) to appease almost any kind of diner. The beer and wine list is also just fine, and there's a small patio out front which is clutch right now because many people want to avoid indoor spaces thanks to the 'rona. I tried the shrimp po'boy...news flash, this wasn't as good as any such sandwich from N'awlins. But the fries were fine, and I had a couple of cocktails that at least laid the booze on real heavy-like. I won't be back, but I will definitely recommend this to those working/staying nearby in the future as a backup option.

The Marq is a good place for a large group. The food was good and the prices reasonable for Chicago. I got the adobo chicken and it was good but not as good as the steak my wife ordered. I loved my misfit IPA beer but the drink my wife got had jalapeño in it and it was so hot we could not drink it. The food were good and the atmosphere was casual. I probably would not get the goddess salad again as it did not have much flavor. Overall though we liked the Marq and were talking about our meals afterward. It was a good place for just about anyone.

I've been to The Marq twice, about a year apart. My first experience was really good despite some major hiccups. One member of my party's food came out way wrong, with things added and removed from his burger that were not what he asked for at all. Right after he sent his meal back, someone else in the party found a hair in her salad and we had to shamefully send that back as well. However, despite this, the staff was AMAZING about it and got the new entrees out so quickly and then sent the manager over to work out a solution, which I believe was a discount on the bill. We all left thinking that the food was good and the service was so great that even with the mistakes this is a four-star establishment. I came back here earlier this week without even realizing that this was the same place. I was here to eat before seeing a show at the CIBC theatre and we left a note in our reservation that we only had about an hour to eat. Then, because the CTA cannot be trusted, I ended up arriving 15 minutes late and was super anxious about making the show. But the waitress was EXCELLENT and brought out drinks and appetizers literally within minutes of ordering. We had the fried pickles and they are really really delicious - highly recommend. Our entrees came out right away as well and we were done with the meal in about 35 minutes. I had the corn elotes risotto which was so unique and creamy. Overall, I think the food here is good and pretty comparable to other Loop restaurants in the price range, but the service is what has made this a great experience on both occasions.

I wanted to go to another restaurant but they were closed. I walked to my second choice but when I tried to order, they did not offer onions. What is a burger without onions? I searched Yelp and The Marq popped up. I got to the restaurant and there was a marquee that stated they were voted the best burger in Chicago so I felt this would be promising. I ordered The Marq cheeseburger with raw onions, lettuce and tomatoes. The cheese was delicious; the onions were chopped instead of sliced; the aioli was bland; and the meat was just okay. This was not the best burger I have ever had in Chicago. I wish my first choice had been open. "The Business Owner" responded that they were only voted best burger of the block and I should read more closely.‍ Also, Covid may have affected my tastebuds in regards to their garlic aioli. There was garlic in the mayo? Snarky comments do not work impress unless I am making them.

Great music. Chic spot. Some communal seating. Meh Cool, young vibe. I had the wild mushroom risotto. It needed some Lawrys seasoned salt but it was ok. My friend's fried chicken sandwich looked so delicious that I almost said "Boy, Bye" to the Pescatarian lifestyle. But I stayed strong. If I ever backslide, it'll be because of how delicious that sandwich looked. Be warned-I'm told it had a little kick. The staff was friendly and attentive. I went during lunch so I didn't order anything from the bar. Looking forward to going back to finish the job.

The Marq is a surprisingly delicious undercover burger joint, even though their menu is such a random assortment of dishes from all over the world. I truly think The Marq doesn't know what it wants to be but they make a phenomenal burger. I was introduced to The Marq via a co-worker that raved about the burgers so you know I had to give it a try. They only offer a very small burger selection, so small that you might inst look it. I settled on The Marq burger, you can't go wrong with a dish literally named after the restaurant, they wouldn't name the worst dish after themself. The fact that any place allows you to swap out fries for mac-n-cheese is a place after my heart. The food couldn't come soon enough because when this burger came I almost started to shed a tear, I could've easily resembled the Michael Jordan crying meme. It was beautifully plated. Since I was at lunch with a group I was able to witness the different customizations that you can add to The Marq burger. Man oh man, this is my new go-to place for burgers while in the Loop after that burger.

Visited the Marq for the first time today for lunch. I took the first bite of my sandwich and extracted a very long, curly hair that was mixed in with the meat from my mouth. Absolutely disgusting. I will never eat at the Marq again.

Excellent quick dinner before catching the train. The atmosphere is pleasant, food was great, and staff wonderful. Would recommend if you are looking for a good burger or sirloin sandwich, similar to a cheesesteak. Def worth the stop.

Nice pretty bar/restaurant in the heart of downtown. Good vegan Jackfruit tacos - very filling, delicious, and cheap! Would definitely recommend :)
