The Cheapest Michelin Star Restaurants For Dinner in the UK & Ireland

"There’s a reason this thatched pub has held its Michelin Star for 17 years. The menu is founded on quality local produce, which is used in more elaborate dishes than you might expect from the pubby surroundings. It’s a 13th Century property that was built by the masons who constructed the nearby church and exudes plenty of rural charm. Have a drink in the cosy beamed bar or lounge, before being seated beneath a Grecian ceiling mural in the dining room. 3 Course À La Carte, Tues-Sat Dinner – £56.80 (average price) 3 Courses, Tues-Sat Lunch – £34.50" - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

Masons Arms

"Husband and wife, Mark and Sarah Dodson, run this pretty thatched pub in a secluded little village, which boasts spectacular views over Exmoor’s rolling hills. The cooking is more sophisticated than you might expect to find in a pub, with a concise seasonal menu of attractively presented dishes firmly rooted in British and French classics. Dishes are refined, with pronounced and assured flavours; Mark has plenty of experience and employs the finest local produce to full effect. Service is charming, attentive and a perfect match for the food." - Michelin Inspector

Stunning old 13th century original building, set in the beautiful village of Knowstone. This Michelin star restaurant is one to visit. The atmosphere inside this beautiful old Inn is delightful. You're met with the finest customer service. All staff are extremely warm and welcoming. You don't just dine here for a meal you dine here for the experience. This fine restaurant offers the most delicious meal with a good full menu. Priced well considering its Michelin star! Portions are a good size and you definitely come away feeling full. I can not recommend this more.

Visited the restaurant for lunch. Beautiful old Devon pub nestled in a village off the beaten track. Very welcoming from the moment we entered. Plenty of time to review the menu and make choices while sitting in the lounge. Two menu's; a lunchtime menu at a set price and an a la carte menu. Conveniently even the set menu has individual prices for starter, main and dessert, so you can swap between menu's. We chose from both and all excellent. Beautifully cooked an presented and very, very good. Service very friendly and charming. I cannot recommend enough.

From the first moment of arrival outside this utterly charming and beautiful restaurant, the very best experience awaits. A warm welcome and invitation to relax in the sitting room with pre luncheon drinks and nibbles whilst we peruse the menus was just the beginning. Our selection from the set 3 course menu was superb, beautifully presented, perfect. The staff are warm and friendly, efficient and discreet. Well deserving of the accolades and Michelin ⭐ Thank you Sarah, Mark and the team for a splendid lunch.

A really nice lunch here on the way to North Devon. Service was great and really understanding of motorway delays. Atmosphere was a bit flat, personally I'd have appreciated some quiet background music. Food was very good. Tuna, scallops, monkfish and lamb were all full of flavour, tender and perfectly cooked. Portions were a little small, and prices a little expensive. Came to £120 for two courses for two of us. We will definitely come back again but maybe not every time we go past!

A gorgeous country gastropub with exceptional food. Also excellent, thoughtful service with good attention to detail. The wine and beer were brilliant too. Beef and monkfish were standout dishes. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Had a great lunch there! The tuna loin starter was really good. Good attention to detail on the food and reasonably priced considering the quality. Great service as well. A bit of a drive for me but well worth it!!

We had a wonderful evening, I have a sugar problem, and I could not have been better served. The attention was fantastic, and the food was delicious. I had scallops and then monk fish followed by cheese. A lovely evening!
