what a great place! It is a tastefully redone old YMCA in loft style. The check-in experience was nice and streamlined. Nothing unnecessary and very intuitive for me. The neighborhood is a little rough, but not too bad. There are some homeless people sleeping on the street up the block and across the street at the church but I felt safe. lots of inexpensive parking around. The Square Café two blocks away was great, and the Margaux Cafe across the street is also great. Great bus service too. The gymnasium event space was transformed for our event and we loved it!

Great central location for all kinds of food, however I wish the bar was open. I actually only been here one other time when there was a rave in the gymnasium lol so it was cool to see it in the daytime as a hotel. Front desk(and manager?) isn't always present but when she is there she's very nice. Our bed was pretty low down to the ground, so that may be an issue for some people. I also wish the TVs were more updated. Ours kept dimming, like a phone, for some reason?

Comfortable, inviting, and clean. The room was well appointed and modern. Management quickly responds via text, however, the lack of on-site management has emboldened pot smokers and rowdiness among some guests. The hallways and lobby smelled strongly of drug use. Also, being a historic building, the walls are too thin to block out loud guests and smokers. The management responded quickly to our message about this, but outside of air fresheners, nothing could be done.

So easy to check in a get to your room by just using your phone. No hassle at the front desk or having to get key cards. Very nice and clean room. Comfortable bed and pillows. We had a lovely stay.

I was visiting Pittsburgh to see my son, and this hotel was close to his apartment. With all the "no contact" aspects, I was a little concerned about what I would find. However, this place was perfect. Someone greeted me, offered me water, and made me feel right at home. Another person even gave me a tour and some history of the place. The room was comfortable and quiet, with plenty of towels and amenities. I enjoyed my stay and will return to The Maverick on my next visit.

Between three and four stars, depending on the room. I’ve stayed here 4-5 times. Quality of water pressure depends on the floor. Heating system depends on the room. Generally, the heating/cooling systems in each room do not work properly. You may or may not get a good night sleep depending on the time of year. I bring my own pillow because the pillows are awful. The bed itself is fine. Access is easy, neighborhood has nothing going on for nightlife for the first half of the week. Second half, it is sparse. In terms of nightlife, it is one of the most uninteresting spots in the entire city. There are great dinner spots sprinkled around though. However, lots of lower rated ones as well. Lots of great coffee shops nearby. Park over on Amber by the Whole Foods if you want to avoid the parking fee. Lots of transients around because of the buses, but nobody much bothering. I walked at all hours and had no one bother me. Nobody yelling, no ill ones going ape. Last time there was these stains on the furniture. Luckily I didn’t need to sit on that. Driving to nearby neighborhoods is very easy. I am happy to pay $80 or $90 a night at most, under no circumstances should anyone pay more than $120 a night at this place. If you do, you have zero conception of value. Elevator is slow, foyer is cavernous. I see it’s called four star, according to some. Not at all. No daily housekeeping.

I visited and stayed at the Maverick by Kasa in early January with my family. I had to change my booking and shorten my stay due to a conflict that I forgot. I was assisted in a very professional and respectful way. When we checked in, it was super smooth. The hotel location is 10/10. Parking on street was easy and free overnight. The room is spacious, we stayed in a family suite. It is quiet, pillow and bed were comfortable. Overall very pleasant experience.

Absolutely love my stay! The room was just like the picture and clean. The room was so cute and had a view of the church right in front of the hotel. Anytime I texted with a question the response was basically immediate. The location was amazing. Right around the corner from Garbarino’s which is an amazing Italian restaurant with a nice bar. Would recommend to anyone!
