The Meatball Shop

I live in Los Angeles and ordered a cookbook from The Meatball Shop and wanted to try it when I was in NY. It is not an Italian Restaurant, (don't expect pasta with your meatballs) the Meatball is the focus of the dish and most of the food items are intended to be very healthy. I was very pleasant surprised at how well the ingredients they used mixed together. The food is fantastic!

Pork is in all their meatballs except the veggie ones (hense the 4-star rating - I cannot have pork). However, my husband loved their buffalo chicken balls and their spicy sausage balls. He gives 5 stars and two thumbs up. Their green beans were good, but the romesco way fantastic. I could have had that in a bowl by itself! If they have smores cookies on the menu GET ONE!! They are heaven on a plate.

Gluten-free options available. I had the chicken meatballs with a parmesan cream sauce and a side of polenta. I'll be back next time I'm on the upper west side... シ

Great find! I had the breakfast sandwich and my buddy had the balls Benedict. Both were unique with great flavor.

Loved the food, it was just excellent. Couldn't stop talking about them. I got 4 spicy pork meat balls with spicy sauce and a slice of focaccia bread, my boyfriend got a beef meatball sub. delicious! wanted to lick the bowl. the mashed potatoes were also just scrumptious, creamy and smooth. Only thing is that it was a while before the waiter came to our table after we sat down, but no biggie.

This restaurant was recommended to me by the owner of an Italian restaurant in the middle of Ohio, and I can see why. In addition to cultivating a generally amenable environment with good service, the food was delightful, relatively inexpensive, and surprisingly filling. I ordered off of the brunch menu: two meatballs with two fried eggs and biscuits and gravy, while my wife ordered meatballs with parmesan, laid atop a heap of scrumptious mashed potatoes. I personally enjoyed hers better. We finished with dessert consisting of a dollop of vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two walnut brownie cookies, which I would certainly recommend to anyone who wasn't sufficiently sated by the entree. My wife and I are definitely planning a return trip.

Delicious meatballs! Nice portions with several choices of toppings and side. Service is great and their ordering system is pretty cool, albeit it will probably entice you to order a bit more than you would normally. If you get a table outside you will get a nice view of the road which, considering it is NYC, will make you feel you're having a mean standing in one of the most characteristic NYC sights.... busy roads and yellow cabs zipping around.

Stopped in for lunch while on vacation. We tried the veggie meatballs two ways: on a whole grain hoagie with marinara and provolone, and in the "kitchen sink" with a cream sauce. Both were amazingly delicious, far surpassing our expectations. Also very noteworthy, the veggie/side dishes featured on the plate for the kitchen sink dish were each outstanding on their own, and harmonious with one another. Next time I'm in town, I'll stop back for sure. Tangerine lemonade was super tasty and sweet but not too sweet. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend!
