The Meeting Room Restaurant & Tapas Bar

So I’m staying here and so far it’s been a top notch stay! I also got to chat with some staff and they were so awesome customer service and hospitality was top tier! If you come in the weekend you will meet a great bar tender his name is Ron he gave me great places to visit down the road on. Which is awesome and there are more options then it looks. I also want to give a shout out to Olivia she’s very kind and she’s definitely really good at what she does always with a great smile all the way and to Madison as well they both helped me with a little help. Thanks to all three for making this a great experience. They are definitely working hard to make this place better! With the help of the company all top stuff! Thanks limited for making it a great time.

Wow! You get what you pay for and we for great drinks and excellent service. Erica was our bartender and she was great!

This is very much a hotel restaurant. Staff was nice, but food & atmosphere are lacking. Prices are too high for what is being offered. If you are considering eating here do yourself a favor and walk over to King St instead. There are many better options there.

I went inside the meeting room to ask to use the restroom to take my insulin and that lady at the counter told me unless I'm a guess I am not allowed to use restroom and she don't care if I had a medical emergency or not do not come back into the hotel unless I'm booking a room I would not suggest anybody stay there and I walk to a restaurant on King Street and had to end up going to the hospital with a sugar high as 425 they have no courtesy unless you spending money with them

Long wait for food. Food was just ok. Breakfast omelette was burnt. The fruit was good. It is convenient, that's all.

Good place to stop for a quality cocktail and small bite. Small menu but fresh ingredients. Good service. The restaurant is located inside a hotel but clean and spread out enough to have a private meal.

The restaurant and bar are mediocre at best. We were staying at the hotel and were happy to have a bar and restaurant downstairs, but the menu leaves a lot to be desired. The restaurant description is inaccurate- no tapas to be found. We ordered drinks off the menu- nothing special- after dining elsewhere one evening and they were horrendous. We will not return. We passed on breakfast here, as well, because for $20/person we felt strongly we would get better food elsewhere. Overall this was upsetting because it was a draw for us staying at the hotel and ended up being a useless, expensive amenity.

BEWARE! Someone is running fraudulent credit card charges through this restaurant. I live in CA and have never been to Charleston, SC and yet my AMEX was run for a charge on June 18. I called the number associated with the restaurant and was routed to the hotel lobby. The clerk told me the restaurant has not been open since March and he had gotten calls from others questioning similar charges. I had to cancel my AMEX and get a new card, so BEWARE even if you see just a small charge...it's just the scammer checking if the card works.

My husband and I stayed at the brand new Holiday Inn on Meeting Street only two weeks after it first opened. On our last afternoon in town we visited The Meeting Room in the hotel lobby, and were fortunate to meet Kevin (the manager) and Dan. Kevin and Dan were so friendly and accommodating that we stopped in again that night for drinks and dessert after dining at Basil, which Kevin had recommended. The food was delicious, especially compared to the food we've tried at other establishments attached to Holiday Inn hotels. We were given a complimentary sample of the chicken wings which were covered with a perfectly blended spicy/sweet sauce, and topped with Kimchi. We also ordered the pecan pie, and it was as good as homemade. As for drinks, we had a tasty margarita, and a few beers, and they all disappeared quickly. I can assure others that this restaurant (and hotel) will offer you a level of service that's superior to any other of its kind. We are moving to the Charleston area this summer, and hope to be regulars at The Meeting Room, and that should say a lot for our experience. Who goes to the bar in a hotel lobby a few miles from home? We will :-)

This review is for the bar only. A nice place to transition between daytime activities and nightime fun. We usually would stop by for a cocktail after spending the day out. It is a very bright, cheery bar and of course, virtually brand new. The large screen TV over the bar is a nice touch and the barkeep, Jim is a fun, engaging type who is happy to mix up a drink of your choice. Superb lemon drop martinis for sure. Often we found oursevelves staying for more than the one cocktail--woohoo!

Stopped by for a liquid refreshment on the rooftop bar. Very nice layout and cool vibes.

Just want to set the record straight: this restaurant is no longer serving Tapas: it offers a standard Holiday Inn menu: chicken wings, burger, Caesar salad: it's fine but not what apparently used to be here.

After we were seated and read the menu we discovered that this restaurant does not serve tapas, only a handful of very standard appetizers. Our server was nice but obviously the misleading restaurant description is not OK.

Skip the breakfast - mediocre service, bad food. We waited over five minutes at the sign which read "Wait to be seated", while one waiter and one busboy who saw us, just ignored us. I finally had to get the busboy's attention and asked whether we were supposed to seat ourselves. He said "Yeah" as if it were obvious. When we told him about the sign, he just shrugged. No big deal, until the food came. My husband ordered the poached eggs on "bacon hash" with "hollandaise" sauce. The eggs had a strange, indescribable texture, and were basically hard-boiled. The "hash" was nothing more than crumpled bacon on heated up, previously frozen potato cubes (which tasted like cardboard). The half teaspoon of hollandaise sauce, perched atop each egg, was packaged junk. I had the basic eggs (scrambled), bacon, potatoes and toast. If you are absolutely forced to eat here (gun to your head?), then opt for that (minus the cardboard potatoes), as it's hard to screw up scrambled eggs. If you're a coffee fan, you'll hate the weak coffee (although they do bring a pot to the table, so you can drink a lot of it). Even our teenagers (who like everything) would've hated this, had they not slept in.

Dan is a great bartender... Its new and clean, has a semi-modern feel. We just had drinks and appetizers, but they were very good. Came back a second time.

Nice place, helpful and attentive staff, clean, family friendly but I WAS disappointed. Coming from the Suburbs of NJ, I've indulged in foods from almost every corner of the world. I saw the word Tapas (small snacks)and I lost my mind. I kept thinking Chorizo, olives &cheese, Fruit filled pitchers of Sangria, Bocadillo, croquettes de jamon, chicharrones, queso with almonds and figs, grilled octopus in citrus fruits, almonds and fragrant spices. Did I mention Chorizo? !!! I will return, too nice of a place on Meeting St. to pass up. I hope the owners add the Iberian Peninsula Romans meet the Moors flavors to their menu a true flavor explosion!!! I recommend this place, family friendly.

Sorry the night I came majority of things that are popular were not avail. So I had the lettuce wrap which was not good to me but the waiters was very friendly so that made everything ok. Very pleasing and friendly, funny also.

Very typical hotel restaurant. Not near fine dining. Bit pricey for breakfast, especially the buffet, as you can get the same buffet quality for free at other hotels. Bar prices were good and service was fine. Would not try for dinner at all.

Awesome food! I had the Charleston She - Crab soup and the Winter salad, wife had the calamari and our kid had the grilled chicken (for free!). Food was excellent and the tapas menu is very reasonably priced. If you're staying at the hotel I wouldn't miss it.

What a nice surprise for the location...pretty beat so we rolled in. Nice draft beer choices..local pours and yueng if that's your beer. The bartender was busy but attentive, a dudette. Burger goood. Pulled pork sliders gooooood. And the ice cream, um home made.

This is a restaurant and bar attached to a Holiday Inn. My five stars go to the bar only because I did not try the food. For happy hour, I received generous, huge glasses of $3 cabernet. The service was outstanding even though the bar was very crowded. One note: a previous poster mentioned that this establishment has a rooftop bar. That's incorrect. It has a rooftop heated pool, but no rooftop bar. Just thought I'd clarify.

Some of Charleston's best food at a Holiday Inn bar? Hell yeah! Discovered this place 2 years ago and have been itching to come back for the pickled vegetable plate...alas it was no longer on the menu but no worries, chef Sarah Carter whipped up her own version of it and came out to present it herself. We also ordered fried green tomatoes off the happy hour menu and scallop and roasted vegetable risotto. Everything was outstanding. The bar was quiet on a Friday night, as the hotel is quite far up Meeting Street. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, give this place a try before you spend your hard earned money on one of the restaurants on Kings street!

Amazing experience all around...tapas at the bar were fabulous. Dan was the most attentive bartender who went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed. Will be sure to return and send others for such a great dining and bar experience!!!

Breakfast at The Meeting Room and Tapas Bar was the most delicious and satisfying meal I've ever experienced! I was so very impressed with the fresh cut fruit, perfectly prepared omlets, hot delicious coffee and of course the AWESOME staff! I definately recommend that everyone should give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I stayed at the hotel on Sunday night (which was very nice by the way). We went out to dinner near by but decided to have a drink and share an appetizer at the hotel bar when we got back. Let me start off by saying the bartender was the worst ever. My husband is a chef and I am a bar manager, so we know bad service when we see it. The girl tending bar was unprofessional and not very knowledgeable. She greeted us by saying "what do you guys want?" Really? I asked for a cocktail menu. Then she said, "we also have a $5 drink special tonight but I didn't check the board yet so I don't know what it is." And walked away... Then we ordered our drinks, which were OK I guess. Later we heard her telling another patron that whatever drink he ordered, she would makr her nightly special...unprofessional in my opinion. So we orded an app, Korean lettuce wraps. The menu said they came with chicken but she said we could get chicken or beef so we opted for the beef. Then she came back and told us there is a new chef and he only does chicken now. (Perhaps when the new chef changed the menu, she should have read it!) When the server delivered our lettuce wraps, we had to wait for the bartender to pay attention to us long enough to ask for silverware. The food was decent but we were a little let down. After we finished eating and finished our drinks we must have sat there for 10 minutes waiting for the bartender to clear our dishes. There was a total of 4 other people at the bar. ..there is no reason for a patron to sit there with empty drinks and dirty dishe in front of them for 10 minutes when the bar was as slow as it was. We finally asked for our check and left quickly. Like I said, the hotel it self was nice, but we would not return to the bar, especially if it was the bartender from Sunday night. Terrible service. I'm embarrassed for this girl, really.

The food is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect. Billy, the bartender, is super - fabulous drinks, attentive, and very polite!

Great service. Beautiful atmosphere. The Meeting Room Burger is to die for. Korean Lettuce Wraps were awesome . Will definitely eat here again.
