The Melting Pot’s Plan to Modernize Fondue - Eater

"At one Oklahoma City location, the future of the Melting Pot looks bright. Natural light pours in through big street-facing windows in the cool historic building. Some of the restaurant’s familiar secluded booths remain, but much of the open space creates an atmosphere more suitable for groups thanks to larger tables, canary-colored banquette seating, and specially designed tables that can be easily pushed together. In addition to the familiar tabletop fondue pot, diners now have the opportunity to grill their own meats right at the table thanks to a cast-iron grill pan. There are new menu items like rosemary-scented fries, a no-brainer for dipping in cheese, and made-to-order appetizers like Buffalo cauliflower, fried green tomatoes, and pan-seared potstickers drizzled with teriyaki glaze." - Amy McCarthy

This was my first time here and I was absolutely amazed by how good the service and food is! The wife and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary here. We did the biggest option that was a 4 course meal with Lobster tail! I would highly recommend The Melting Pot to all of my friends and family A++

Google
It was definitely an experience, a beautiful environment, a beautiful setting, and a romantic atmosphere. I also enjoyed the server she was awesome. Shelby, i think, was her name. The menu was a new experience. I enjoyed appetizers, the fondue and desserts, but wasn't a true fan of the entrees and my food being raw and only a broth on a stove to cook it. Definitely took me by surprise but different likes for different people. It was a great time, and i enjoyed myself for my birthday dinner.

Google
This was our second time coming here, and it was just as great as the first time! We did the duo meal and had a great meal. You get to choose between different cheeses for your starter, and then you pick the base for your hotpot, and last is the fondue dessert! It is kinda pricey, but it is worth it for a special date night.

I came in on a very busy Saturday Night and was by myself and chose to sit at the bar! Best experience and choice I made. Sooner held her own behind the bar! She was impressive in how she handled making all the drinks and just enjoying her customers! It made eating my meal so much more fun! Melting Pot you have a valuable bartender a diamond in the rough! My first time here and I will be back!

Google
This evening we did a cheese and chocolate fondue with the additional meat skewers. Our waitress Sooner is absolutely amazing. She’s so friendly and foreword thinking. We appreciate her service. Thanks Sooner!

We came for girls night out and had the pleasure of Miranda F being our waitress. It was a busy night and she handled it like a pro. She was always pleasant and upbeat. She had wonderful suggestions. Thanks for making our night out special with customized plates. Menu: bacon and Gorgonzola cheese, pacific rim cooked Mojo style for main entree, and s’mores chocolate. Two of us had drinks as well: love martini and strawberry basil lemonade.

Google
Wow! Fantastic experience! Kelsey and Emily were amazing waitresses; funny, knowledgeable about the menu, and very polite! They accommodated my party to a bigger table so that we could have two burners because of my gluten allergy! They took diligent care of me through this allergy and make sure that I was kept safe and included with special dippers!! I would 100% recommend this restaurant AND these waitresses to anyone who will listen!!

Google
Great food and atmosphere. Came for wedding anniversary and made it one to remember. Our servers name was Callan and I would recommend him to anyone. He led us in the right way as far as ordering and was accommodating for all our needs!

Yelp
New Years Eve was a mess. Understandably, it was busy. But for a table of 3, I am utterly disappointed. We arrived around 7:30 for our 7:45 reservation and were seated around then. This MP location was well dressed for NYE! Fun little hats and blowers! We had a new server and intended to give him grace when he let us know that. It wasn't until about 8:30 that our order was taken. We didn't even get water until about 8:50. We finally received the first course (pre-prepped potato croquettes) around 9:15. We received our other drinks ordered around 8:30 around 9:20 pm. For the $75 per person, the New Years Deluxe dinner was not very pleasant. Bitter ravioli and unseasoned meat. Not to mention that the new waiter got our order wrong and we had to wait AGAIN. He kept bringing things out that were never ordered and proceeded to come ask us several times what it is we ordered (which he wrote down by the way). The Flaming Turtle was the saving grace of the meal, however, I recommend teaching the waiters how to do this process without nearly setting your patrons or their table on fire. We didn't leave until about 11:15. A long wait for a disappointing meal. This location has some work to do.

Yelp
Such a fun experience! This place is perfect for a date night or family gathering. The servers are top notch and the food is glorious. It's an OKC gem and worth venturing to. The parking lot is pricey. Bricktown parking, eep.

Grace S.

Yelp
Jordan was amazing! Amazing service she was so nice! The food was so disappointing and not good at all. Chocolate fondue and bar drinks are the only reason I'm giving two stars.
google avatar

Kristi S.

Yelp
I'm sure not everyone would agree, but this place is so overpriced for the tiny amount of food you get. And part of it wasn't even things that we liked to eat so we had so much wasted food. And our fondue pot kept smoking for some reason. Anyway, I would rather go eat a great steak dinner for the same price or less.
google avatar

Bianca D.

Yelp
Great experience!!! The waiter was sweet and very well timed all our courses so we weren't too stuffed . I will be back for the banana foster so good and fun . This is a nice little spot for date night. I'd say we spent 160 in total this night if anyone is course of the pricing. Give it a try stay belly welly jelly

Yelp
Went back today for my birthday. I love that they give you a signed card for your celebration. We had the spin/artichoke cheese and it was delicious. We also had the classic and land and sea - also delicious and we couldn't finish it all. The dipping sauces are amazing. The desert was the flaming turtle again. Miserably full but so happy/miserable. Ashleigh was great. My only complaint is how dark it is where we've sat both times, it's so very dark.

Yelp
Lyric was our server this evening and, as usual, she was amazing! She is very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions and suggestions we had. I did so enjoy her consideration. The attitude she had really made the experience that much better. The Pacific Rim hit the spot (the duck was MY personal favorite) and the mushrooms never cease to satiate me. The ambiance was very relaxing and the mood was perfect. I can't wait to visit again!!

Yelp
Melting Pot is one of our favorite special occasion restaurants, and I know I have previously written a review, but I needed to get back on here for an update. We dined here this week, and everything was fantastic. Our server, Victoria, did an amazing job taking care of us. It was the best service we have ever received here, so I wanted to recognize her. The food was amazing as always. We are all looking forward to the next birthday so we have an excuse to come back!

Yelp
This is the second time we've chosen The Melting Pot to celebrate our anniversary, our 12th this year. My husband paid extra for a date night package and it's something worth the extra expense. They also have a full service bar and wine selection so if that's important to you then put your mind at ease. We did a four course meal, starting with a cheese fondue. We went for a spinach and artichoke dip which is a different choice from the regular selections. It was served with a wide variety of breads and vegetables and Granny Smith apples which were my personal favorite. The second course was a nice Caesar salad, a good foil for the "richer" cheese course. It was a delicious plate and not some overlooked placeholder like you might receive at other restaurants. The third course was the main entree. We settled on the steak lovers which was filet mignon, peppered steak and a teriyaki sauced steak. There are vegetarian options too. It was delivered with a vegetable platter of mushrooms, broccoli and potatoes that you see on the left side of the fondue pot. On the right is a wonderful and varied choice of sauces. Each one was a unique and tasty accompaniment to dip with steak. The cooking sauce we chose was the Coq Au Vin. So you take the raw meat and vegetables and cook them in the broth to your temperature level. They have an app that helps you track cooking times if you want help. The last course is chocolate!! We picked the Flaming Turtle which is set ablaze and makes for a great show. Several years ago we did this with our grandkids and they were in awe of the magic. The chocolate comes with an excellent selection of dipping choices. The chocolate marshmallow dipped into the chocolate sauce was almost too much chocolate, if that's even possible. lol The cooking process allows you and your significant other, family members or friends a time to share in conversation and make connections. I want to especially recognize Morgan who guided us with expertise through the many and varied options. She took pictures of us and really made the night even more special. Surprise your spouse with an intimate dinner here. Afterwards, walk off the calories with a stroll around Bricktown.

Yelp
We went for Veterans Day husband was treated to a free dinner to honor his service along with other vets and active duty. It was so relaxing, delicious and great service. Sweet time together.

Yelp
This was my first time here and it was an experience for sure. But I was overwhelmed by the amount of food! Also to note it is about $50/person to eat here. For first you pick your cheese fondue from a list and get some bread, apples, and other stuff to dip. Next, you get some sort of wine mixture that you boil your meat and veggies in. Last, you get deserts and chocolate for fruits. The air gets moist and foggy inside. Is definitely an experience but is a 1 and done kinda experience for me
google avatar

Monica T.

Yelp
The service was very good and we were able to get someone else into the party despite the restaurant being closed. They didn't hustle us out and were quite accommodating. My only issue is that for meat cooking for fondue, we had to cook the meat ourselves. This was not so comfortable for me and some of the people I was sitting near. My friend who'd gone to a location in Connecticut said they cooked the meat for you at the table vs. you having to do that yourself. That feels like a health risk and a contamination problem waiting to happen. I'd have had a better time if I'd not had to guess and hope I'd fully cooked my meat. Other than that problem, I couldn't speak more highly of it for a nice, upscale outing. It was also my first foray into having fondue.

Angie G.

Yelp
Friendly staff, beautiful Christmas decor, variety of choices w allergies ( AKA gluten free ) fun experience. Would come back!

Yelp
I loveeeee this place. This is my second time being to a melting pot and it's always such a blast. The OKC location is honestly in such a cute spot. I recommend sharing the 4 course meal that's meant for 2. You will be so much more full than you think you will. Our server was great, she sort of disappeared a lot but I'm sure she's used to it being couples wanting to spend quality time together. So it wasn't a problem for me but make sure you are asking for a refill anytime the server comes otherwise it might be awhile be for you see then again.( mainly because I think they wanna give you privacy) This is an expensive meal BUT it's also an experience as well. Super fun you should 100% try it out!

Yelp
Went for dessert at the melting pot and truly loved our entire experience! The server was SO KIND! Shoutout to Ashley C! We enjoyed the turtle fondue with some extra cheesecake. Total was $30 plus tip! Perfect for a date night outing :) not busy either!

Yelp
Simply amazing! We had an incredible time celebrating some half-birthdays in our family! Thank you so much to our amazing server, Katie S, for serving us fully and wholeheartedly! She was so kind and the service was quicker than usual which we appreciated! The atmosphere is beautiful; I personally love the low hanging dim lights and little booths tucked away near the back. And the food! Simply delectable. The cheese, as always, is our favorite, and the meat and chocolate were also delicious. The portions are PERFECT and you are left feeling like there isn't room for anything else! It's a perfect restaurant and we love celebrating special occasions here; special thanks to our amazing waitress Katie! You are the best!

Kaylea T.

Yelp
We had the most amazing night at the Melting Pot. The divine food and attention to detail from our server Nia made it so special. Some of us were vegetarian. She made some great suggestions and warned us about any items that were not vegetarian. They got us seated so fast and gave us a table with a nice window viewing. Will definitely become back for another celebration soon.
google avatar

Jina M.

Yelp
Finally tried this restaurant for my birthday and loved it. It's a lot of different choices to make and so worth the heftier price. You choose appetizers and cook them in a pot of cheese, fondue style. Then main course same with picking a broth to cook your food in. Then the best of course the dessert. We had several different yum items and dipped them in chocolate. Must also say my mojitos were delish and I'm a picky ass about my mojitos. Plus it takes a bit to go through all the courses so you get some good family/friend time.

Yelp
The dessert fondue was very good! Bronwyn was very kind and helped us with our menu. We loved the flaming turtle. Great customer service!

Shannon D.

Yelp
I always love this experience. This latest time that we went was a girls night (my 2 daughters and myself) because of a hard break up for my 19 year old daughter. When The Melting Pot called to confirm our reservations they did ask if it was for a special occasion. A manager, Ashley, wrote an AMAZING card for her. It was just the sweetest thing and very personal for not ever having met my daughter. My daughter needed that at the time. So much that she asked for Ashley to personally thank her. But it wasn't Just Ashley, the whole staff signed it as well. It brought tears to both of our eyes. Also, Levi and Alicia were pretty darn cool and helpful too!

Michael S.

Yelp
Service fine, ambiance nice, food terribly OVERPRICED, I do not have a problem paying for quality food. However, melted cheese, bread, and soft drink for 47 dollars (minimum 2 diners) is ridiculous. Hope it works for you....your the next casa Bonita, ride the gravy train until the subterfuge dies ...
google avatar

Brandon N.

Yelp
Emma S made our night. She was an amazing waitress that was very knowledgeable about every part of the menu. Food was amazing. The cook was great and very handsome.

Yelp
I just wanted to say thank you to Ashley, our waitress, she was amazing! She knew what she was talking about and she was giving so much information that was needed to have a seamless experience. On top of that I loved my wine and so she brought the bottle out so I could take a picture of it in case I found it somewhere to purchase myself.

Yelp
To celebrate my partner's birthday and New Year's Eve, I made dinner reservations at the Melting Pot. I remember going to a different location when I was much younger and thinking that it was such a great way to spend special occasions with a nice dinner and really engaging experience. After I made our reservations on Resy, I put in a note hoping to have the table decorated with flowers/candles. I never heard back and assumed it went unread, slightly discouraged, and never had the time to call the restaurant to put in my request. When we were seated, I was SO excited (and surprised) to see that they had fulfilled my request! While there's also an option to sit in Lover's Lane, some of the packages automatically include a teddy bear and items that I knew my boyfriend wouldn't have much of an interest in, but I still wanted to make the evening special and romantic for him. He was blown away. We chose the 4-course meal for two and every dish was wonderful. The Wisconsin cheese fondue to start, salads, we opted into the "choose your own" for the entree as I'm a vegetarian, and the Yin and Yang (white chocolate and regular milk chocolate) fondue for dessert. We were so full by the end of it, we could hardly finish the dessert fondue. To top it off, the service was great and they even brought out a cake with a candle and birthday message for my partner. We enjoyed the entire evening. There were a few things that could have gone smoother (us being seated seemed challenging even though we were 15 minutes early to our reservation) and our additional fries being brought out during the entree course instead of the appetizer with the cheese fondue, but it was all very slight in comparison to the grand scheme of things!

Yelp
Made reservations on the recommendation of a friend.Food was excellent service was good drinks excellent. Will be coming back Excellent experience

Yelp
We sat by the window & were able to see people passed by. Love our table arrangement. Service was top notch. Food was great. Ambiance always good at the melting pot.

Braden N.

Yelp
Bronwyn was our server for dinner last weekend, we haven't been to the melting pot in years and she made our experience spectacular. She not only was knowledgeable about the menu but she let us move tables to one that had 2 stovetops(it was a slow evening) so we could try two different cooking styles. And at the end of the night they had extra chocolate covered strawberries and she gave some to us. Thank you for being so great! Definitely will be back!(:
google avatar

Yelp
After our experience here four years ago, the manager emailed me directly and said she was going to set us up with a free meal to get us back. After that email, I never heard from her again! We've never been back, and we never will.

Yelp
I'm not wild about mediocre reviews, but here we go! We arrive on time for our reservations, and waited over 15 minutes while 3 people discussed where to seat us. Got to our table and over 15 min before wait staff took our drink order. Another 20 min and our drink order arrived. 10 more minutes and we ordered our food. This was a "date night" for us and we were trying something new. Now, here is my question! We were seated in a room with extremely noisy people. Next to us was a group of 6 girls in their late teens who were having a blast...very loudly. Screaming, laughing, and generally loud. On the other side was two couples also laughing way too loud! What is the restaurant decorum? Do you shush, do you ask to be moved? Do you leave? We stayed and huddled closer to hear each other talk. All the food arrived very slowly with long pauses between each course. The food was okay. The fondue wasn't warm when it was brought out. The presentation was nothing special. Our meal lasted over 3 hours mostly due to slow service. Our waitress was nice. All the wait staff was very young maybe they didn't have anyone with experience managing? I don't know. Our meal was over $175.00 for two drinks and mediocre fondue. The bill had tip suggestions starting at 20%. (I thought starting at 25% was the norm!I am not a fan of any restaurant being presumptive with tip suggestions. It is insulting to the customer. Next time we get a hankering for fondue, I'll get the fondue pot out of the back of the pantry and we'll stay home.

Yelp
This has always been one of my very favorite restaurants but California franchise owners such as SD have cut back greatly on food portions to the point where they push the sweet spot over in my opinion. Where I used to easily eat there several times a month now it's maybe 1 time a yr. Oklahoma City on the other hand has not cut their portions back and I was both delighted and shocked when we received all the food I ordered for 2 of us. This is my birthday restaurant because it gives me the chance to order everything in a way that all my friends and I can share because I am greedy and I want it all. This restaurant is an absolute must for those who have never tried it. The more people the better as it's a multi course dinner (cheese fondue, salad, dinner which can be a variety of steak, lobster, shrimp, chicken , tuna, veg, etc and a choc fondue coarse that can vary). Just have tell them to box the salad as you can eat salad any day and you need room for the rest. You cook everything yourself in your chosen broth and you have a variety of dipping sauces. It's great food and fun ... a memory makers

Yelp
Seated fairly quick, fresh food brought out, calm atmosphere. Waitress' named Miranda - very nice and checked on our party, knew the menu and had suggestions. Definitely going back!

Yelp
We made reservations about a week before we knew we were coming to OKC. The hostess and waiter were friendly. We knew this was going to be a longer meal and enjoyed the idea. We had delicious food, good drinks, and the waiter was knowledgeable and helpful with our selections. We didn't get specific cooking instructions, but we are both familiar with the process, so we weren't bothered by this, but I heard another table mumble about it. We are enjoyed every aspect of our meal, the time it takes to cook, the opportunity to visit. This is definitely not a place to come if you're in a hurry, logically. We spent our "date night" talking and laughing, and the food fits that kind of mood perfectly. We will definitely visit again when we have the opportunity. It's a fun place to relax and enjoy each other's company.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday earlier this year (review is way late) but this is the absolute place for any celebration or special occasion.

Yelp
We Love the melting Pot, whether you are looking for a splurge restaurant in Bricktown or looking to celebrate a special occasion I highly recommend The Melting Pot, OKC. The Staff is always incredible and always help make the experience a night to remember.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing and ultimately exquisite! The server, Bronwyn, was extremely excellent in every way possible. Tell her, Jackie and Kelton (bday boy) said not to change! You did beautifully and could not have the need to change her performance in any way!!

Yelp
We visited April 23 and had reservations at 5 pm. It was an easy over the phone reservation we made only one day in advance. I just made a basic reservation- not one of the fancy schmancy private rooms and the hostess was kind enough to give us a booth so it still felt extremely private. We ordered the 'Complete Fondue Experience for Two' and we were able to pick each different type of course. The cheese fondue we picked was the Spinach Artichoke. I'm not a huge artichoke fan but I knew the Wifey did so I went with it. Best. Decision. Ever. So good. Not over spinachy or artichokey. The house salad and Caesar salads were good but we didn't really focus on them because we knew the best was yet to come! Our entrees were 'Land and Sea' and 'The Classic'. We chose the Bourguignonne cooking method which I recommend. You have the option to tempura batter your food and we made fried mushrooms with Panko which was as delicious as the meat options. When our server, Kiera, brought out the set up for the entrees the power went out (huge thunderstorm). We were already enjoying ourselves and the manager, Britney, literally went to every table and was so sweet and apologized and told everyone they could stay if they wanted. She took great care of every customer in the building. She was so sweet and apologetic over something beyond her control. Our bill was definitely cheaper due to her diligence and we in turn left a generous tip. We settled in with an order from the bar and were set to wait it out. The Bricktown area has really cool, old buildings and we had a great view. Long story short we were able to finish our meal (power came on after about 20 mins). The best part was the end of course! The Cookie Butter Crunch fondue was worth loosening our belt buckles and rolling our stuffed selves back out into the rain!! Thank you Kiera and Britney. You worked so hard to give us an amazing experience and we loved every unpredictable moment of it!!!

Yelp
Lovedddd the Valentine's Day dinner they offered today. Every time I dine here it's an amazing experience. The food is always so good--it dances on your palate. We were sat in a back, elegant, low lit room for our date and it honestly painted a perfect scene. Romance galore. Our waitress was named Sierra and my God was she entertaining and delightful to talk to. She's bursting with energy and she's super helpful. 10/10, as always, I'll definitely be coming back to eat; I'll also be suggesting to any of you who may dine here to ask for Sierra as a waitress. She loves her job and will definitely make your experience memorable. Expensive, but definitely worth a special occasion.

Yelp
Happy Hour was AWESOME!! We had a wonderful waiter and bartender. Callan and Sooner were amazing. The flaming turtle chocolate fondue was the BEST!! I would recommend!!

Brandy K.

Yelp
Ate here for the first time. I have a gluten intolerance I will burn, have joint pain and a horrible migraine. First three courses went great. Brought out the dessert course and fed me gluten accidentally. The waiter apologized. The manager apologized. The least they could have done is comp my meal since I will more than likely miss a day or more of work!

Sara M.

Yelp
I've always loved melting pot. Love love love it. Everything about it. Haven't been there in years! Boyfriend and I went out for date night... tried the bacon Gorgonzola for the first time and holy crap GET THAT! steak lovers plus 3 extras and everything was so delicious. Strawberry almond salad is one to make you lick the plate pretty much. When you go to an "experience" place like this.. it really helps to have a server that's really in it. We had Nia tonight 6/23/24 and she really put the cherry on top. All her recommendations were hitting and she made us feel like we've known her for years. Great personality and really sold the meal. When we come back, we're definitely requesting her and I hope you do too! Thank you again Melting Pot for another incredible date night!

Kasey C.

Yelp
Excellent first time! Miranda was awesome and patient with us! The steak lovers entree was delicious. We will be back!

Yelp

Yelp
Tonight was much better than my previous visit. Food was exceptional and our service was took notch! Thank you Landon

Lia L.

Yelp
Let me start by saying we love the Melting Pot. It's fun! we have been three times total prior to our recent visit. We always expect a 2 hr dinner easy. Online it says 9in experience but that has never been the case. We took my husband tonight for his 40th birthday. Made 6:00 pm reservations 24 hrs in advance, arrived at 5:55 pm. The hostess stated we cannot seat you till 6 pm. 6:05 we were seated. Ordered our starter food at 6:20. Got our cheese at 6:55. Fast forward finished our meal at 9:00. Paid and left by 9:15. So over 3 hrs. My husband now hates Melting Pot and as a family we will never return. The server was so positive and sweet. We cook our own food, they are literally serving us raw food. Why on earth it took this long is ridiculous.

Yelp
Donna was our server and she was very knowledgeable about the food as well as the wine. Donna basically read our minds and brought us what we needed before we even had to ask. She was amazing, the food was amazing, the wine was amazing and the experience was fabulous
