This is the sixty seventh 67 floor of the Willis Tower or formally called this Sears Tower. You have to have a reason to be here with an ID otherwise you cannot be here. The Metropolitan club has membership ($180 per month as a base per person) for those who want to join or I guess you could come here for food, but you may have to reserve in advance because it’s very strict Security here. Please bring your IDs at all times. It’s a beautiful club. The views are amazing of the whole city and they have events at the Metropolitan club all the time. There’s also a room with a golf simulator as well as a little lounge where you can enjoy.

I love being an invited club member, and so impressed with the customer service, chic interior design, and amenities…at EVERY location I have visited. The Metropolitan was exquisite. I felt “important”. My husband and I came to Chicago for our daughter’s graduation, and I secured a day at the Metropolitan with concierge so that we could have lunch, hit a few balls, and prep for my business meeting. The dining experience at Craftsman was superb! The presentation of the fresh lobster bisque left me eager to indulge in my cocktail and entree. My center cut filet was at the perfect temperature with a flavorful cloud coating of blue cheese. The amenities are perfect and convenient for a member and a traveling member. I give the entire experience a 5-star and we’ll return.

My hubby and I went on a date for the sensory experience. The space is gorgeous. We even got to see fireworks from Navy Pier. Drinks were good. It was a unique experience with the projection of a digital story on the table. Very cool dish delivery. All were delivered sinchronously. Food was ok. Very small portions. Brocollini was undercooked. Meat was so fatty, there was very little actual meat. Desert looked super cool, and hand spun cotton candy was nice but the chocolate cake was a disappointment. Honestly, it felt like a 2day old cake from Walmart, very dry and cream in between was too sweet and gross. For the amount of $$ we paid it wasn't worth it. If the food could catch up with the concept of delivery and space it would be perfect

We held our strategic planning session in the Ohio room! Beautiful views! Beautiful lighting! Fantastic catering support and attentive waitstaff for lunch service. Had all the AV and android and apple compatible tech needed. Made the day-long event go by so smoothly. Highly recommend!

Thanksgiving Brunch was outstanding! Wonderful variety of soups, salads, seafood, beef, turkey, lots of vegetarian and gluten free options too. Delicious desserts and breathtaking views. Will definitely return. Only thing missing was some yummy crusty breads to sop up all the delicious !

We visited The Metropolitan for Chicago's Restaurant Week. The food was nice and the wait staff was courteous and pleasant. The dining room presented a comfortable and quiet atmosphere.

Almost didn't know I called rhe right number because the receptionist was like hello? I had to ask if this is the Metropolitan Club and she says yes. Used dining benefits twice in the club, a solo diner, 6-7 months apart..the only patron in there, 30 mins before other patrons and it takes me 2.5 hours for a 3 course meal alone..service is so slow and the server forgot about me! The last time the server forgot the pen that I had to take out my own pen and write down service was so slow and that he forgot a pen. I'm not waiting to get his attention..this isn't Friday night dinner, this is slow Saturday night. Do they think we won't tip or something and intentionally give slow service? Gosh way to prove a point. Oh no creme puffs and vegan chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Seriously this club is lacking for an Invited Clubs. And is anyone trained in hospitality at the Metropolitan Club?

Came to this establishment on a Friday evening. This beautiful restaurant is located inside of the Willis tower on the 66th and 67th. Getting to the 67th floor to dying does take some effort as you have to take the elevator all the way to the 66th floor and then get off and either take the stairs or another elevator one flight up. Totally worth the effort to make it up to this Elevated dining experience. The views are insane. You can see in all directions from the restaurant. We were lucky that we went on a evening where there were no clouds and we could clearly see all the way to the United center and other architectural structures. I even peeped some buildings that I had never really noticed before but had amazing lighting and so definitely drew my attention period. Onto the dining experience, we attended during restaurant week. The menu was preset. For food we got the lobster bisque, steaks & frittes, and brownie (more like banana shake) sundae. Quality of food was good. However quantity was small. I did leave slightly hungry. I enjoyed the lobster bisque But it came out slightly cooled and never really got to the temperature that I needed in a soup on a cold evening. The steak was good but portion was very small. I found the horseradish sauce on top of the steak to be overwhelming. The bread service is an additional charge however yhe bread service is an additional charge and It didn't really hit the spot. In addition to our meal we did get several cocktails at this essablishment. My husband tried both the old-fashioned and the Scotch Sour. Old-fashioned was a better choice and offered a very smokey presentation. I ordered a French Martini and it was not very cold. I had to delete my French Martini with 2 ice cubes to get up to the preferred chill temperature. For my second drink I got a Pear 75, which is a playoff of a French 75 but made with pear gin. Overall I was pleased with my cocktail experience and what it definitely ordered that Pear 75 again. For dessert our option was brownie sundae. Taste was good on the dessert but very heavy on banana no also it was more of a milkshake that in actual sundae. Service here was actually really good. We enjoyed the experience that Ramon provided. All in all I would come back for a special occasion and try other items. I bet it would be a great place to have a couple of cocktails before a show downtown. Service was 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!! Food was 4 stars. Overall venue and ambience of 5 stars. Tip: make sure you arrive earlier as you have to jump through several hoops for security purposes to get up to this restaurant. Including a meta detector.

Yelp
I had a great dining experience here this evening for a reunion, hosted by a member of the club. As her guests, we were welcomed with a glass of bubbly upon arrival, which was such a nice touch. They also offered discounts for members. Throughout the evening, several club members stopped by to greet us, which made our group feel really warm and welcome. I ordered the truffle fries and lobster bisque, both of which were delicious. I'm on a mission to find the best truffle fries in Chicago, and these definitely rank high on my list!

Yelp
Came to this establishment on a Friday evening we had a 7 PM reservation to dine in the Craftsman room. Unfortunately we were running a little late, I was happy that the hostess was able to accommodate us being 10 minutes late after a quick phone call. This beautiful restaurant is located inside of the Willis tower on the 66th and 67th floor. Getting to the 67th floor does take some effort as you have to take the elevator all the way to the 66th floor and then get off and either take the stairs or another elevator one flight up. I even peeped some buildings that I had never really noticed before but had amazing lighting and so definitely drew my attention. Onto the dining experience, we attended during restaurant week. The menu was pre-fix. We choose the $42 dining menu as we didn't like the entree selection for $59. The bread service is an additional charge however it didn't really hit the spot. If you pay for bread service you really do expect to have something a little bit more than just the ordinary french baguette sliced horizontally. In addition to our meal we did get several cocktails at this essablishment. My husband tried both the Old-fashioned and the Scotch Sour. Old-fashioned was a better choice and offered a very smokey presentation. I ordered a French Martini and it was not very cold. I had to dilute my French Martini with 2 ice cubes to get up to the preferred chill temperature. For my second drink I got a Pear 75, which is a playoff of a French 75 but made with pear gin. Yelp
The Metropolitan is a pretty cool club if you are into invited country club type of memberships. Here's what's good: - Most of the food is great. Some of the dishes have a bit too much sodium, but it varies and isn't too severe. - The decor is modern and clean, my favorite style! - 99% of their staff is significantly better than what you'd get from a luxury vacation. I don't know where they find these people but they did well in hiring. - They aren't alcohol pushers so if you are dining and are on your first drink or don't drink they don't force it. - The bartenders are great at making all sorts of of drinks. If you don't see your drink on the menu ask for it, I am sure they will get you whatever you want. - Free Full Sized Massage chair - Excellent views - Discount on nearby parking -50% food Cons - Service fee placed on all bills isn't a tip. Please keep that in mind when tipping. Your guest is full price if you are a member so please know the rules. Happy hour ends a bit too early. Only one golf simulator game, no other games. It would've been nice to have an old fashioned arcade game in the cafe or something.

Yelp
Great service, wonderful food and amazing view (when it wasn't cloudy). Will come back during the day to see even more! The staff was really helpful and accommodating, which made the experience even better.

Yelp
BEYOND RUDE lobby people, middling service, good food. We had the lobster bisque, the crab roll, truffle fries, calamar,i salmon. $38 "service charge" which waiter made clear was not his tip. Don't try to use their bathroom- they will direct you to the "non-member" one Nice view.

Yelp
The Metropolitan has the most amazing Membership Director, Maggie Wanecke! She is so kind and considerate and authentic; I had the best tour with her. She was the main reason I chose this establishment, (but our company went with another option). She is an excellent representative and you all are so lucky to have her! :)

Yelp
Located off the orange, brown and pink cta train Quincy stop, the tall building is a few blocks away. After checking in with photo ID and metal detector, I was directed to 66th floor and then you take another elevator to the 67th floor. The restaurant with reservations was on this floor. The Metropolitan Club is a business and social club. One of the membership levels is $500 registration fee and then $150 per month and annual contract. The Mid America Club has lost its lease recently and so it's members has recently transferred to the Metropolitan Club. There's a special $100 registration fee and $100 per month for July. Thereafter it's $150 per month with annual contract.

Yelp
It's a real treat to be in this place, especially catching the autumn sunset! Amazing panoramic views, attentive servers, flavorful food! One of the best experiences in Chicago!

Yelp
We ate in the Craftsman. Great food & view. Good service. I really enjoyed my pork belly & the broccoli salad was delicious. Heard the steak & scallops were really good too. We all left stuffed. Think they do have a dress code - we were there doing some work earlier in the day. More formal dining experience.

Yelp
Our Assistant Principal picked the Metropolitan; Oak Room as the venue for our prom. It was a lot smaller than I imagined. On the website the space states it can accommodate up to 400 guests for receptions or 250 for rounds. That is true if you don't mind having 12 seats per table, no dance floor, and if you choose buffet; you'll have to go down the hall to get your food. We had about 220 students and 20 chaperones. We wanted a dance floor so we had to set up high boys in the entrance hallway for the chaperones to eat but there weren't enough high chairs. The prom was at 7pm and I arrived at 510pm to set up. I was surprised noone was there to greet us and the only thing on the tables was a tablecloth. The chairs were not the ones our AP had selected but were told it was too late to change them. Luckily we brought our own centerpieces or else the place would have looked barren. They at least brought 2 votive candles for each table. When the food was ready the students had to line up in the hallway so that one side moves in and the other goes out. After waiting about an hour for the line to die down I went to get my meal only to find everything empty. For the amount of money we paid for the place we would think they would keep the trays full! We were told the food was being cooked and after about an hour more food came out. It wasn't even that good so I was disappointed for having waited that long. Another long wait was entering the building. There was a wedding happening the same night so I heard the wait at security was super long. They understandably had to scan everyone's ID and check bags. The only great thing about this place is the view. It was definitely breathtaking. But with all the metal, phone reception is limited away from the windows. I would NOT pick this place again for a party.

Yelp
Came here for a wedding. Place is nice... Very nice views of the city. Food was very fancy and tasty. Staff seemed nice and friendly but sometimes not the most attentive. Overall though it was a great time!

Yelp
It was ok. First of all I bought a gift certificate off travel zoo for $99 and that covered appetizer, entree and dessert. We were expecting to pay a lot for drinks and we did! There was a $40 service charge and we assume this was for the tip. We did get one extra side of Brussels which were excellent. The shrimp appetizer was not that good. The ladies filet for the dinner was covered in a brown gravy which I didn't really like but was cooked as I asked Medium Rare. The dessert was the best part! Dessert was a chocolate piece of brownie cake topped in caramel with gelato- it was to die for. Parking was another issue and we should have used spot hero and didn't so we got suckered for parking at $55. All and all it was a nice place with pretty views but probably will not go back.

Yelp
Thanks to travelzoo.com, I have had the opportunity to have dinner in the Tower on a couple of occasions. Normally you have to be a member to dine here according to the staff. Of course, once you're seated in the dining room you get to see the awesome views of the city from the 67th floor...simply amazing! Elegant dining space so you have to come dressed up...no jeans for men or women so pull out your slacks and dresses ladies and gentlemen. The menu is full of awesome dishes so both times here was a hard choice. My deal allowed for me to get an appetizer, entree with a side and dessert. There is a discount if you buy a bottle of wine. The first time here I got the Maple Kale Salad (very good), Lamb Rack (amazing) and the Creme Brûlée (pretty good). My gf @ the time got the NY strip steak and it tasted pretty good and she also got the lava cake for dessert which was pretty phenomenal. We shared the pan seared foie gras which was amazing as well. Our server on that day was a guy named Deon that was awesome and genuinely a good and funny guy...he took good care of us. The 2nd time I came, me and one of my best friends came and again the view was amazing and dining room was on point. We had Sara as our server and while she wasn't as awesome as Deon was, she was pretty nice. We ordered a bottle of Cab Sauv to get dinner started. I got the moscato salad and it was pretty good to start out with. The Whiskey Peppercorn Ribeye was calling my name so I answered the call and went with it. Very good with a bit of a zip to it. For dessert I got the Club Gelato which was the star of the show that day...very good! If you have not dined here, this place is a must. Better views than the Signature Room @ the Hancock (still awesome though) so come and check this place out.

Yelp
I have been a member at the Metropolitan Club for about 3 months now and I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about it. First of all - the Club had a complete renovation just recently and it is modern, sleek and professional. The staff are extremely attentive and always looking for ways to support their busy professional members. The three restaurants offer a variety of food choices and ways to entertain business colleagues and support networking. There is co-working space but also private office space and lots of conference rooms for easy events / meeting management and planning - for members its only about 24/48 hours notice to help set up for an event! I mostly use the club for co-working and hospitality for clients and it has never disappointed - the coolest part is that lots of times they have social events or live music or entertainment and its never too crowded so I have unique and original ways to entertain and network - all without having to plan a thing. In this new era of 'remote working' getting to choose your own remote work space and have such nice additional support and options on premises was a big bonus. Before, I had to manage a bunch of individual reservations for things and hunt around for unique ideas, etc. - all on top of actually doing my job! This has made it all so easy. The last thing I will say is that there is ONE bill at the end of the month - everything is easily itemized and make expense reporting, etc. so seamless. No more taking pictures of 80 different receipts from a bunch of different restaurants, handling reservations, wondering if it will be too crowded or noisy or just not fun. For me - I travel around the country as well and have tried the 'sister' clubs in Club Corp and have had seamless reporting back to my ONE bill at the end of the month. Both other sister club properties were exceptional BTW. Honestly, at first I was a bit hesitant b/c I didn't know what to expect, but it has been a great investment and I always recommend to anyone else - who is looking for professional networking, hospitality, and working / events space! It more than pays for itself +)

Yelp
We're club members so we have the benefit of having a comped meal at other clubs every month. Since I was in Chicago for lunch we made reservations at the Metropolitan Club. Security and check in at Willis Tower was quick and easy. We called in advance to check their dress code and ask about parking. They were friendly and knowledgeable. Our server was great. He explained all the specials and answered all the questions we had. They also offered a charging station at the front desk when my phone died. We split shrimp cocktail (& they brought it in two cups which was nice). I loved it! However it was much more like a ceviche, which was perfect for me. I had a Caprese Salad and the mozzarella was very fresh. For the main course I had the seared ahi tuna. I wanted a lighter lunch and it was just the right amount. The views are spectacular, as you'd expect. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town!

Yelp
Went to the Metropolitan for an early anniversary dinner. Being from out of town we figured that the Willis Tower would be a special experience for such an event. When we arrived we were the only diners in the restaurant which should have tipped us off. (By the time we left there was only two tables with occupants.) We figured at least it was quiet and intimate for our anniversary. Not sure but our waiter must have been new to the job...didn't follow up on anything that you'd expect, like, "would you like wine with your meal?" or "How 'bout some fresh-ground pepper on your nearly flavorless meal?" or "sorry about running out of salmon, I brought you a minnow filet instead." My wife started with French onion soup whilst I tried the wedge salad with "moody" blue cheese dressing on the side; we ordered asparagus and root vegetables as our shareable sides to accompany a 10 oz filet (for my lovely wife) and a rather diminutive piece of salmon por moi. [I had NY steak just yesterday at Harry Caray's, so I thought I'd change it up a bit...bad move.] The steak and salmon were not seasoned -- luckily there was a salt mill on the table. The filet was cooked perfectly and both bites of the salmon were fine after a generous twist of salt. Now the veggies were a much different story. I should preface this part with the comment that I like my veggies a little al dente. The asparagus were raw, period...verrrrrry crunchy and under-seasoned and some of the larger pieces were tough and stringy. The root veggies were essentially diced parsnips, again, under-seasoned and under-cooked for the most part. Lastly, when we got the bill we noticed they added a "service charge" with a lame-ass explanation that all FB is subject to a service change and that it wasn't a tip. I really wanted to stiff them but ended up leaving 10%. Would I go here again? Not likely.

Yelp
Conflicted on what to rate The Metropolitan. The view is incredible! We had a work event there Wednesday evening and the staff was lovely, attentive and the appetizers going around before dinner were tasty. The dinner menu was preselected and we had a choice of chicken, filet or the polenta for us non meat eaters. My colleagues eating their filets and chicken looked to be enjoying their meals. Mashed potatoes and broccolini accompanying their choices. I on the other hand along with maybe 2 other employees who don't eat meat got a dry, tasteless polenta cake topped with mushrooms, drizzled w I'm not even sure what, and accompanied by brussel sprouts. I'm not sure why that was the best that could be done as a vegetarian option. It was the blandedst, driest worst meal I've had in years. The mini crab cake appetizers were 100 x's better. I'd rather of had that as my main course. Because the service was lovely and the apps were good, and of course that stunning view of our incredibly beautifully city, it made choking down my dry dinner slightly more bearable. I'm being generous with 3 stars. If it were a meal I had ordered off the menu and was paying for I'd absolutely have sent it back and told the chef to take an extended vacation. So, 4 stars for service, view and ambience. 2 stars for food, and only because apps were good. That would be more accurate.

Yelp
Made reservations for my anniversary . Arrived and only 6 guests in entire restaurant. We had a table overlooking the city ! Waitress luna was awesome . They had a photobooth free of charge. Only downside was I specifically stated it was my anniversary and the restaurant did not offer a dessert with happy anniversary on the plate as i have seen them do in other reviews. This would have made our night special

Yelp
Our entire experience was awesome! Everything was perfect traveling from the first floor to the 67th. The view is unique and memorable forever. The Metropolitan is a fancy place, so expect to see fancy people around. We were there on a Friday night and, for our surprise, it was not crowded. Prices will vary from affordable to expensive, and some entrée portions are big. We will be back, for sure!

Yelp
My husband and I visited The Metropolitan to celebrate our first anniversary. We thought it would be a great choice because it's in such an iconic tower and we knew it would have amazing views of the city. Getting up there can be an adventure so give yourself some wiggle room before your actual reservation. You need to check-in with security (so bring your ID) to get a pass and then jump in a TSA-style queue where you'll need to empty your pockets, place your items in a tray and step through the scanner (you don't need to remove your belt or shoes at least). The part of the restaurant we visited was newly renovated and with a blue and white mid century modern vibe. Our reservation was at 6:45 but I was surprised at how few diners there were. There were only 3 other couples besides us. I'm not complaining though, being able to sit across from your partner and not have to yell to communicate is a nice change. Our food was good! The menu has lots of options ranging from $90 - $15 and I'm sure it's all delicious. There's no need to break the bank, but you can if you want to. I highly recommend the "Bertha Palmers Brownie Cake," it's warm, delicious and comes with vanilla gelato. For a drink, order the Marshall Fields. One thing that should be noted is that there is a Service Fee added automatically (I think it was 17%) but my understanding is that it is split amongst all staff so that the kitchen, host and other staffers can benefit. Although your server will get a portion, you still should tip them appropriately in addition.

Yelp
Here for a tax forum and my husband had made reservations here. First we didn't know what type of place it is so we were extremely under dressed. My husband had on linen shorts and a linen button shirt. I had on a really cute but way to casual for this place dress. They allowed us to come in even though my husband wasn't in dress code (bless their heart) as normally you will get turned away. The food was awesome I ordered Buffalo Cauliflower and my husband ordered Sweet potato tater tots (pictured). Our entrees I order the butternut squash ravioli and my husband ordered pesto and Parmesan chicken with a side of asparagus. The butter not squash was recommended by our waiter and it was delicious it was a but sweet but that's what made a delicious. My husband loves his mail when it came with grapes and walnuts..the grapes reminded me of a potato the way they were cut. Sorry we didn't get a chance to take pictures. We ordered a bottle of wine as well... The view is outstanding! Oh there is a TSA type of check in.. And currently you can only make reservation

Yelp
Would give no stars if that was an option. We had to cancel our prom in 2020 due to Covid and they refused to refund our deposit. This past fall we confirmed a date for our prom for May 20 so that we can leverage our deposit. Since that time we have been unable to make contact with any staff member of the Club - no response to emails/calls from the Events Director, the Manager or the GM. The central phone is answered by someone who cannot connect us to anyone who can help us. It feels like they are taking advantage of the fact that they already have our money. For goodness sake - they are impacting high school kids. Maybe they are no longer in business.

Yelp
4 stars for great quality food, fast and friendly service and staff, and the view! Well put on your fancy pants and enjoy their decadent apps, dishes and desserts. Apps: I had their scallops for appetizer and man, it was like eating a piece of heaven. It's was soft and spongy, lots of flavor and perfectly cooked. I tried the beef carpaccio and that was super delish and perfectly prepped meat. Skip the oysters app, not crazy about the spinach topping Entree: I had the filet mignon and although I appreciate the quality, I thought the taste was pretty average. My sister had the tuna and that was to die for! Desserts: I had the lava cake, banana bread pudding and crime brûlée. Wow!!!! Get them all!!! The view was absolutely phenomenal as Chicago is just stunning. We watched the sunset from our table and that experience alone made this $$$ dinner worth it. TIP: when making your reservation, ask for a window seat. And don't forget to press your pants, hair, and your atm. Jussayin.

Yelp
The 67th floor of the Sears Tower (sorry Willis. Unless you're Bruce Willis, it'll always be Sears Tower for me.) was nice, but I felt like the views weren't breathtaking as they would be at Hancock's 94th floor Signature Lounge. But this was a family dinner, so I was happy to go with loved ones. Being the Sears Tower, there are two security checkpoints before you go up. The first one at the front desk confirming you have an appointment, and then the second one with full metal detector and bag scan. Kind of annoying when you're dressed up and full of metal belts, wallets, and jewelry, but I guess it's for the safety of everyone. Once up at the restaurant, it's quite a small space; but still a very nice ambiance. If you have a party of 4 or less, you should definitely get the window seat as that makes the experience (we had 6 so we had to sit towards the center, which made the experience feel like any other restaurant.) We had prix fixe dinners, so we each ordered an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. I went with the roasted pear, the veal, and the passion fruit + blood orange sorbets (you can mix flavors!) while the rest of the table went with pretty much everything else. Crab cakes, scallops (winner), filet mignon, ribeye, and the lobster pasta. The veal was alright, and I probably should have gone with the ribeye. But I do like trying different things versus a homogenous group order of steak. The pear was interesting, but my sense of adventure failed me here and I probably should have gone with a "safer" choice. BUT, the sorbet was pretty fantastic! I really loved both flavors of blood orange and passion fruit (they have more that vary per day!). Super light yet not too sweet, not too icy. Too bad they don't have something similar downstairs. Really loved the sorbet :) Overall, a pretty good experience for a family dinner. There's definitely places out there with more wow factor, but having dined at the Sears Tower once is pretty cool.

Yelp
My husband and I were so lucky to be able to have our wedding reception here. From the food to the view to the day-of coordination (shout out to Lorena!!), everything was picture perfect. We would recommend The Metropolitan whole-heartedly and without reservation. Thank you so much!

Yelp
Came her for date night and it was everything we hoped for and more. The food was superb. Everything was great from the drinks to appetizer, entrees, and even the dessert. Fast service and waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable.

Yelp
My fiancée and I were looking into the metropolitan for our wedding and Lorena offered us the oak room or the East room for our date, but then, when we said the oak room ( same hour that she asked, we received no reply for 4 days after hounding her with calls and emails), only for her to tell us it was already booked. Even had the gall to say "per my original it was already booked," when she never said that in the email!!!! I took a screenshot of the original email that she sent us offering us both options, but never got a reply. No surprise there. Clearly, the metropolitan is in the business of gaming potential couples into a space they don't want for date or they don't want just to fill their schedules. If you're trying to plan your wedding here, don't bother unless you want the run around. Super disappointed by the lack of clear and direct communication.

Yelp
The taste: 1. carpaccio - small. a little bland. but fine. 2. the golden beet salad with goat cheese croutons - nothing exceptional, the blood orange vinaigrette had a good flavor. 3. entree - some kind of fish (now can't remember), it was cooked well, but wasn't too memorable. 4. shared creme brulee and bread pudding. neither were outstanding. neither were awful, but I personally didn't like the flavor of the creme brulee (grand marnier, I believe). Oh, one stand out was the brie-infused mashed potatoes. But, I mean, can you REALLY ever go that wrong with mashed potatoes? I'm pretty sure the ones that come from a box are really popular. (No?) The place: service is pretty great. we were celebrating a birthday, and were offered champagne on the house. it was foggy when we were there, but I'm sure the views are outstanding. it's a huge space, with a formal dining area, and a lounge with pizza (and maybe I saw some cigars?) not too far. Enjoyed the mouthwash in the bathroom, and the super fancy napkins/paper towels. Really absorbent, and that's something I appreciate when I have wet hands. I think a 20% gratuity charge is added to the bill, which admittedly, they deserve for how on top of things they were. My face: meh. Obviously a little overpriced, especially for the quality of the food. Don't think I'll be going back. Total bill was $93 for 2 people (3 apps, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, champagne on the house).

Yelp
Fantastic dinner with a gorgeous view! We were also able to visit the Skydeck before our dinner using their private elevator. Great way to get ready for a dinner with the setting sun. Our 4-person group split the four appetizers of the oyster rockafellers, rosemary pierced diver scallops, lobster mac and cheese, and shrimp cocktail. All were great choices and easy to share. Our favorite out of the four was the oysters. For my entree, I ordered the peppercorn beef tenderloin, medium rare. It came prepared just the temperature I was looking for. The meat was flavorful and tender! Even though it was delicious, my neighbor's sesame seared ahi tuna was equally, if not more, delicious than the steak. I tried a bite of hers and it was light, refreshing, and with the right mix of flavors (slightly citrus-y and crisp from the rice paper). It was probably me being sick of heavy Chicago-style pizza. We also ordered 4 desserts to share. I don't remember the names exactly, but they included ginger crumble and cheesecake. The standout was the one served in a mason jar (forgot what it was). So yummy! Service was spot-on. They were attentive but gave our group space to converse without major interruption. We were fortunate to also get seated by the window, so we enjoyed both the sunset and the city night lights while digging into the three course meal! We were looking forward to this meal all week and it surely did not disappoint!

Yelp
Roasted Rack of Lamb with crispy potatoes and asparagus. As lamb is a very difficult meat to flavor given its inherent gamey taste, I knew an order of a rack of lamb was a gamble. The lamb was quite fat and a bit undercooked than I would have liked. I just wish it was more browned and had a stronger seasoning to drown out the raw game taste.

Yelp
It's really good but I heard food are pricey if you're not certain VIP gold membership since it will give you discounts if you're. But I really like its food is various and big portions no matter Starter or entree, even desert Brownie is so good too! Mostly, its atmosphere is soothing and night overview of Chicago is beautiful. But it definitely requires business dress code to enter reserved room.

Yelp
The Metropolitan was a really fun spot to grab drinks and appetizers. Definitely the best view in the city. Really well run. There was a line to get an elevator up but it was an amazing time when I got up top, definitely worth it.

Yelp
Dined here to celebrate my husband's new job. The Good: The lobster Mac and Cheese was my favorite dish of the night! It's an appetizer but both the hubby and I regretted not ordering it again as our entree. The gooeyness of the cheese was offset by the herb crust and the flavors were just perfect. The sesame crusted ahi tuna. The hubby loved this entree. I am not a fan of ahi tuna because of the fishiness but the crunch from the sesame and the slaw with the tuna made this dish amazing. We had dined on a travelzoo voucher. Even so, our waiter comped our drinks in honor of my husband's new job. He didn't have to yet he went above and beyond. Jazz was great! The Bad: The dessert was good as well, but couldn't compete with the flavor profiles of our first and second course. Ordered the chocolate lava cake and peach cobbler. Husband opted for the peach cobbler - wasn't a fan. But to the cobbler's defense we are both chocolate people anyway. I had the chocolate cake - it was okay. Your basic cake with a scoop of ice cream. Alaskan halibut - too many carbs not enough meat on the plate. Taste was okay - considering how yummy the apps and tuna were, I was underwhelmed. The Ugly: Nothing ugly to see here folks.

Yelp
It was pretty good. Being a private club I'm sure we had non-member pricing, but that is to be expected. It was not well marked once we got off the elevator. The views are spectacular. Also the chocolate brownie is to die for!

Yelp
There's no assistance or sign in the lobby on the procedure to go to the restaurant. The ladies at the front desk had to stop us and ask if we needed to check in. We've never been there before so how would we know we needed to check in and get tickets to get passed the security guard? They asked our reservation name, scanned each of our IDs, gave us our tickets and pointed us in the direction of the "guy in the gray suit". Once we were through the metal detector and the guarded gates, there was once again no assistance or signs telling us which of the numerous elevator banks took us to the restaurant. We go to the 66th floor and take the escalator up to 67. I don't know why they don't have an elevator that stops at 67. We walk to a sign that points right for the Metropolitan, but there's only locked doors and more elevators. We thought that may be they weren't open yet, so we waited it after 6pm. Doors didn't open at 6, so we looked to the other side of the sign and found the hallway leading up to what looks like a restaurant. We check in a second time at the reception desk, who shows us to the host stand, who shows us to our table. The place was pretty empty. They seat us at a table facing west but there was another table facing the north with a better view. We asked to sit there. The hostess said but the view is better at the first table and seemed annoyed that we asked to take the other table with the view we felt was better. decor was nice but seemed to be more appealing for the older generation. Starters: 1) lobster mac and cheese - deliciously cheesy but would have be better with more larger chunks of lobster and if it wasn't so hot. I had to blow each scoop to cool it so I wouldn't burn my tongue more than twice. I was the only one left still on my starter. 2) Scallops - also delicious, but very small with only 2 pieces. The pickled grapes didn't seem to compliment the dish. Entree: 1) Halibut - soft but had no taste without drowning it in the tomato based sauce. 2) Ribeye - tasteful and the veggies, mushrooms and potatoes complimented it well. Desserts: 1) lava cake - just perfect 2) NY cheesecake - richly good. Disappointed with the service, even though the restaurant want mostly empty, b/c our champagne glasses were dirty along the rim, there was a long wait for our entrees after the starters, our table wasn't fully cleared for the main course, we had to ask for water refills, we had to try to hunt down our waiter and ended up having another waiter find our waiter, had to take our desserts to go since we were there so long already, we had our jackets on and was ready to go before the waiter was able to swipe our card. Food was good but was really disappointed in the lack of fanciness it had for being an upscale restaurant.

Yelp
The view is absolutely breathtaking! We had some drinks at the bar first before moving to the main dining area. We asked for a window table so we can enjoy the city view during our dinner. We tried foie gras, crab cakes, lobster cavatappi and filet mignon and I can say that the food was absolutely delicious! We also had 2 deserts but I just can remember which one but I am sure they were delicious as well. Now to the stuff that I did not like: our waiter was completely indifferent about our presence in this restaurant. It seemed like he wanted to brush us off as soon as possible and not being bothered. At the end of the night we were notified that the service charge that was added to our bill was not a tip and that we should add a tip to our check as well. Say what?!! That was very unprofessional but kind of explained the mystery why our waiter did not really care about delivering a good service to us. His attitude kind of ruined the romantic dinner atmosphere for us. I think I will be back but only for some drinks and maybe some appetizers but not for dinner.

Yelp
Good venue with great views. On the 66th floor of the Sears Tower, good place for luncheons and evening events.

Yelp
Intimate ambiance and absolutely amazing food. Staff was also fantastic. I would recommend the rack of lamb! The only reason why I'm not giving this 5 starts is because we asked for a seat on the glass in hopes of a nice view. We did get a window seat but this was like a back corner seat with a view into the kitchen....Was a little disappointed in this aspect.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night (note they close at 9 so I'm glad I moved my reservation to be earlier). It is a beautiful place, very classy and quiet with fantastic views. It is in the Sears Tower so make note that it takes some time to get up there with security, scanning, switching elevators etc. Also there isn't any valet but there is a garage in the building (yay for Spot Hero) I bought a Travelzoo voucher for $89 which covered 2 apps, 2 entrees and 2 desserts. we ended up getting the lobster ravioli which was stuffed with lobster and had chunks on top, very good. For entrees the steak and lamb chops. The quality of the meat was pretty good but I felt it lacked flavor (altho I may just be spoiled by RPMs crust on steaks). And for dessert the creme brûlée which was awesome and the tiramisu moose which was ok. Everything came to about $275 (also got the Owens Roe Cab Franc -$75) with the voucher so it was comparable to other steakhouses. I would rather spend a little more and get a phenomenal steak. But I'm glad I checked it out and for the purposes of business dinners, I'd imagine it serves its purpose well.

Yelp
Picture yourself sitting in the clouds overlooking the beautiful lights of downtown Chicago while sipping a nice glass of rose - this pretty much sums up what dining at the Metropolitan Club is like. The restaurant is located on the 67th floor of the Sears Tower (oops...even to this day I don't acknowledge the name change) and the views are breathtaking. Normally, commoners aren't able to snag a table at this place because you need a membership to dine here, but as a participant of restaurant week, the impossible become possible. The interior of the space is dimly lit which really accentuates the views of downtown - great place to impress your special someone (with a membership of course, lol) Our server Kyle did a great job answer all of our questions and point us in the right direction in terms of entrees. We ended up going with the: BEEF CARPACCIO The thinly pounded layers of beef were seasoned great and went really well when paired with the thin toast like crackers that they were served with LOBSTER BISQUE This was the star of the apps for sure. The soup had a strong and rich lobster flavor with large chunks of lobster throughout the soup. Like other restaurants I've been to, I entertained the thought of licking the bowl, but restrained myself. SMOKED SALMON PENNE The pasta was cooked aldente and the alfredo type sauce had a wonderful smoked salmon flavor and came served with smoked mussels which were absolutely incredible. GRILLED MAHI MAHI The mahi mahi was a lighter option which was served with nuggets of fried crayfish and a lovely Thai style salad dressed with a tangy vinaigrette. As for desserts, they brought out a sample of their cheesecake, bread pudding and chocolate pie. I must say the bread pudding was the standout - it was warm gooey and so satisfying after wrapping up our meal. Kyle did a great job checking in on us without being overbearing. Of course the best thing of the night was our spectacular view of the city from our seats. I might actually consider getting a membership here after my experience!

Yelp
Good price considering you have to pay like $20 a person to go to the sky deck. Security was kind of a pain to go though and the building's elevator system was super confusing. It wasn't nearly as expensive as we thought. We paid $23 for my chicken pesto pasta and $60 something for my husband's steak. We brought our baby and it was fine. Her ears did pop like on a plane due to altitude change. We made a reservation through open table weeks prior and when we got there, they didn't have it - but seated us in their bar/lounge area that had better views than their "expensive room". It was kind of annoying getting checked into the building because they couldn't find our reservation despite my online fonfirmation Highly recommend their chocolate dessert! Everyone loved it.

Yelp
Since I am not a member of The Metropolitan Club, I had not had an occasion to experience this event space until last night, when I was here for a charity event. The 67th floor is an oasis from the bustle of the city and the panoramic views of downtown and beyond were incredible for the first part of the event, until the fog rolled in. I can see this being a versatile event space. The setup (bar and self-service appetizers) was thoughtfully laid out and I felt that there was plenty of room to circulate without feeling like I was tripping over my own feet--or anyone else for that matter. Hope to come here again if an occasion presents itself.

Yelp
What an experience! the views are absolutely astonishing. You can't get that nowhere else in the Midwest for dinning, maybe Hancock building, but that's it! The food was meh, OK at best. I definitely had a better prepared steak at Ronnies Steakhouse in downtown Chicago on State St. Our server was the best, Mahaila was very attentive and explained everything on the menu for us. I was envious of my wife's food, her roasted pork shoulder tasted delicious and her garlic mashed potatoes were on point. My steak was over seasoned with cracked black pepper, and that's all I could taste. Oh not to mention, it was well done! :( My sides were steamed asparagus with some type of sauce with aioli in it, that was tasty! Make sure you get a groupon for the Metro Club, it is expensive, and our paying for the view and experience! The drinks are great, the food is so-so...

Yelp
Outstanding views. Amazing venue. Great place to have a wedding. I volunteered for an event set-up in the Metropolitan Club and enjoyed myself immensely. Any thing you do to the event space will be breathtakingly beautiful. As an individual in the event and hospitality industry, I love seeing venues that show off the beauty of Chicago. This was one of them.

Yelp
Grand and upscale. Top of the line. I asked for a side of ketchup. They brought an unopened mini glass bottle of Heinz on a side plate sitting on beautifully designed stencile paper. It was served with two hands like a fine bottle of wine.

Yelp
Amazing dinner with an incredible view of the city... and we got to experience it with a groupon! When we arrived, we got to enjoy an amuse-bouche of lobster wrapped in phyllo dough drizzled in basil aioli, compliments of the chef. And that was only the beginning! The groupon entitled us to two appetizers, and we chose the lobster mac and cheese and the rosemary pierced diver scallops. Both were amazing, but the lobster mac and cheese was some of the best I've enjoyed. I could have had that for my dinner, as much as I enjoyed the pan-roasted halibut. The lobster mac and cheese was just beyond. We also got to pick two desserts, and we chose the key lime pie served in a martini glass and the chocolate lava cake. We should have picked two lava cakes... It was just perfectly cooked. Moist through and through, with just the right amount of ice cream and whipped cream to soften the richness. I had much more than I planned to, given how stuffed I was from the first two courses... Because it was just so good. Helpful hints: when you arrive at the Sears (/Willis) Tower, you have to check in on the first floor and get escorted through presidential levels of security. And see what you can do to request a window table when you make your reservation... Even though you can watch the sun set over the city from anywhere, you are essentially surrounded by it in a window seat. The third and final tip is just to come here... It's a quintessential Chicago experience though not necessarily a traditional or conventional one!

Yelp
My mom loved eating here last year so decided to eat here again! Like last time, we used the TravelZoo's deal which comes with an appetizer, a main course entree, and a dessert. Since we've been here last year, we knew how to get to the club since it is a bit confusing for first-timers. You have to go to the entrance to Willis Tower that is along Frankin St. Check-in with the security desk (everyone needs to provide their id), follow their direction to get processed by the metal detector, go to the elevator for the 66th floor, go up the escalators, go through the elevator hall (of the 67th floor) and you'll find the doors to the club. Note that you can request to get a window seat upon checking in, although there are no window seats for parties of 5 or more. The actual dining room is somewhat small and low-lit, and of course the view outside the windows is pretty cool. I thought in general, the food was alright this time. My rib eye was a tad over-cooked for a medium. Service was good at the beginning, but was slow at the end for some reason. Took a long time for our server to come back so we can order our dessert. The restrooms are pretty classy (even has mouthwash!) so be sure check out.
