The Migrant Kitchen Opens a Stand in Central Park - Eater NY

"The fast-casual restaurant the Migrant Kitchen is opening a fourth location in New York City. The new outpost is set to open just north of the Heckscher Ballfields in Central Park, according to the team’s Instagram post. An opening date is slated for Friday, May 26. Nasser Jaber started the Migrant Kitchen during the pandemic, known for dishes that combine Arab and Latin flavors, like fattoush, roasted chicken with tomatillo and sumac, and carnitas shawarma wraps. The Migrant Kitchen in Central Park will serve some of its classics alongside “classic ballpark treats,” per the post." - Emma Orlow

Google
Great spot to get a bite to eat. If you would like an alcoholic beverage, they serve them here too. This place has a great view too. It’s very close to the Central Park carousel. Google maps was a tad confused in getting me to this place. I took all right turns and if you are looking at a map it’s right next to the softball/baseball field.

Just had an early dinner with my two teens, taking advantage of the gorgeous weather on Memorial Day. Crispy chicken sandwiches were excellent (really! better than I expected from a Central Park food vendor), prices reasonable for NYC. I appreciated the easy online group ordering and ability to customize the sandwiches; they even followed up by text to see if we wanted anything else. Really just stopped here because it's a beautiful day and we were hungry, but definitely will now remember this is a good place to go if you're in this area of the park.

Google
Great spot right in Central Park! There are plenty of tables with umbrellas for shade too, which is always appreciated. You can do group orders through texting links which is convenient and the food is reasonably good. Especially the fries. They even have a fan to help beat the heat.

Google
What a gem. They had live music playing and I simply couldn’t resist coming for a beer and to watch the sunset. Incredibly nice people running this place. I NEVER eat or drink in Central Park, but this will be an exception I think. Maybe for the winter season, they could offer hot drinks like hot toddy or mulled wine. I’d definitely come by!

Google
We just hosted a baby shower at Ballfields and were delighted with the results. The team was super responsive, set us up for success even with impending weather challenges, and even provided entertainment. It's an amazing location ith that gem of a park!

Google
Food was fine, but what was really nice was having the chance to sit and eat in central park with billionaires row in the backdrop.

Google
Much better than the surrounding fast food stores. Nice seating in the park too.

The heated cabins are a wonderful idea except they charge you $15 without letting you know beforehand. You pay $15 for 45 minutes. This explains why no one is ever using the cabins. Most places have heated cabins and don’t charge. It seems not very reasonable for this establishment to charge $ for their cabins. Plus, it should be said that it’s $15 for 45 minutes inside a cabin. The food is really not the best, however, we are not criticizing it as the pricing is fair in terms of what you get. Last but not least, most of these cabin doors don’t open and close easily.

Yelp
We had a great experience at the migrant kitchen, not only the food is amazing and the staff incredibly nice and helpful, but also we had our food on our table really fast. Perfect location in the middle of Central Park. The gigantic pretzel is delicious and you can't miss the fig whip ! 200% recommend the corn dog.. be ready for a great surprise !

Yelp
We were hungry during our trek across Central Park, and stopped for a quick bite at the Migrant Kitchen. They have a very limited menu, we opted to split a hot dog, fries and a water. It was a beautiful day, and we were able to grab a couple of seats at a table. Our order was ready quickly, and I brrought it back to the table. The hot dog was what one would expect, it was hot and tasty. I had only had a couple of bites, as my co-diner is the big hot dog fan. The fries were cool and a little limp. That's one of my pet peeves, please serve these hot and crispy!

Yelp
I reserved a heated, lighted hut months ago for our after Christmas trip...when arriving it was not even lit up and the doors on the huts were all broken...the food was absolutely terrible. The chicken on the nachos was literally green and like rancid...way overpriced for TERRIBLE food....the service was bad, staff rude. We will never come here again...not at all what the website or pictures lead you to believe... My kids were highly disappointed and starving when we left because we couldn't even finish our food it was so gross. Waste of time and money...

Yelp
Such a great option in the park, with some of my very favorite hummus in NYC, excellent chicken fingers and fries for my kids, and a maybe-best-in-class (and absolutely enormous) soft pretzel for all of us.

Yelp
An absolute gem in the best park in the city. If you are in Central Park you must take a break and grab a bite or two at this place. This won't be your typical park hot dog spot, don't worry they have them and even made their own "corn" dog. The menu is a great mix of anything you may want while spending the day in the park but with so much more to offer. Highly recommend the FAMILY size pretzel (I think we split it amongst 5 of us). The lamb torta was delicious, so many flavors it's a must try! Lemonade, ice cream, cookies and so much more.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the staff was friendly with us. Also, the place is located in a beautiful spot. Definitely will come back!

Yelp
The best pretzel I've ever had! The dips were super delicious! I loved the esquite on the corn dog and the service was really top notch and friendly! Hope to go back soon! Great location to just sit and watch the baseball players, under the gorgeous trees, in beautiful Central Park!

Yelp
Had a bite post walking around the park. Love the mixture of cultures in the food. Schwarma was my favorite. Will definitely stop by post my CP run.

Yelp
Great food, good people, fun time. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Fortunate to be one of the first at the new location of TMK @central park. In short, it's the gold medal winner of the yum olympics. I'll 100% be back. Had the halloumi fries with fig whip and chicken shawarma, bomb! I also shared the pretzel with 3 other people!!! It's ginormous and deserves its own sentence...Def bigger than your face (yep, even yours). The answers is yes, dip that pretzel in garlic whip and mustard. Besides the food, the location is nestled near the carousel and ball fields. Nice outdoor seating. The people are super chill and very friendly. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Cauliflower wrap, hummus and hibiscus tea are delicious! Wonderful location, love when it's open, for a great meal.

Yelp
Got to check this place out Thursday and it is going to be such a perfect summer spot! right next to the baseball fields and in such a quiet area. Really get to appreciate the scenery while eating some good food. The ice cream was great, definitely get the swirl. Giant pretzel, fig whip, and corn dog are going to be staples for me. so excited to come back all the time!

Michelle R.

Yelp
We were greeted very cordially after a short wait. The corn dog was delicious, but could have been hotter. I would have liked the corn topping to have been room temperature or hotter--it was clearly in the fridge. Lemonade was very refreshing. Great beginning--I'll be back!

Yelp
Outstanding! Best eats in the park. Amazing food - get the fries and shawarma! Super friendly service and really meaningful mission.
