"The Mill serves Four Barrel coffee and fresh baked bread baked on site. The open space, parklet out front and huge collection of vinyl records make this a place to sip, not drink, your coffee. They serve thick cut toast with a variety of toppings, which is simple and delicious. Stop in, linger a bit and enjoy." - Upperquad
"Our perfect morning always includes laying around in the sun with our wandering neighborhood cat before heading to The Mill for a light breakfast and coffee. And if you’ve got a full day ahead of you, there’s no better place to fuel up. The NoPa bakery makes incredible housemade sourdough, which they also serve in toast form, topped with things like avocado or seasonal jam. It’s fantastic, and even better with an espresso drink." - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez, lani conway, patrick wong
"In a dream world where full-time jobs are optional hobbies, every morning would start with a long breakfast at The Mill. You could spend hours at this cafe and bakery gazing at the frequently changing art installations and watching stylish neighbors getting their daily caffeine dose, especially if you stay fueled by their phenomenal Josey Baker Bread. The whole-grain sourdough is tangy and crusty, and serves as the base for toast (what this place is known for) topped with things like smashed avocado, cinnamon and sugar, and ricotta and seasonal housemade jam." - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez

"The sourdough at The Mill (by Josey Baker Bread) is whole grain, so there’s a subtle, nutty taste to each loaf. And while the bread at this NoPa cafe is excellent in toasted inch-thick form, we’re also fans of ripping off hunks straight out of the bag. The toasts here are topped with avocado, cinnamon sugar, and gooey eggs, and on multiple occasions, we’ve seen people demolish their crisped-up slice in seconds, hop back in line, and purchase a loaf from the shelf to-go. And by people, we mean us." - julia chen 1, patrick wong
