Creative comfort food, health-conscious fare, and handcrafted cocktails star at this hip gastropub.
"Turns out there is a limit to how many children on leashes you can handle in one day, and you hit it within five minutes of being at The Promenade. Time to go take the edge off at The Misfit. The American gastropub is a time-tested standby with good bar food, a low-key space mostly devoid of tourists, and one of the best Happy Hours in the area. Running daily until 7pm, all cocktails, spirits, and glasses are half-off—an ideal excuse to stop in for a quick drink and mentally skewer other people’s parenting skills." - brant cox
"The Misfit is another restaurants that often gets used as a bar, and even though it's located a little too close to the Third Street Promenade, we grin and bear it. The crowd is full of locals, the pitchers of white sangria come extra cold, and the food is solid, like the massive fried chicken sandwich with creamy fennel slaw and a quinoa-kale salad that’s great for sharing. Also, there are free cookies and a Happy Hour from noon to 7pm daily." - brant cox, sylvio martins, nikko duren
"When: Daily, open-6pm The Deal: Daily discounts on beer, wine, and cocktails Despite being located uncomfortably close to the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, The Misfit is a casual bar and restaurant that manages to have solid bar food, great cocktails, and a crowd that’s mostly devoid of tourists." - brant cox
"One of the best places to eat on the Third Street Promenade, The Misfit is open daily for lunch, Happy Hour, and dinner. They’ve got burgers, sandwiches, salads, and stellar cocktails. Happy Hour until 6pm daily." - brett keating
"Brick + Mortar is definitely a sports bar, but unlike most others along Main Street, they appear to actually mop the floors here. The space is big and modern with a front patio and a bar food menu that’s better than anybody asked for. If you can’t find the place at first, it’s hidden away in a courtyard behind a Peet’s Coffee and a Ben & Jerry’s. Welcome to Santa Monica." - Brant Cox
