This San Francisco-themed restaurant is situated facing the front of ElDeco Centre, and has a retro sort of feel when it comes to décor: tiled floors, deep sofas, warm wood tones, and a silent Laurel and Hardy movie being projected onto one wall (it’s quite unobtrusive, so you may well go through most of your meal without even realizing it’s there). The long bar counter also has an old-fashioned feel to it, and the paper placemats are a glimpse of important people in SF’s history.
The menu has a wide array of dishes, from salads to tacos, meatballs, main courses, polenta, risotto, a few desserts… we ordered a parmesan sformato (a very nice savoury creamy cheese custard, served with pesto-brushed toast and arugula); a Baja style shrimp tacos; and a pork carnitas tacos. Every single item was delicious, we couldn’t have asked for better food. A bit on the expensive side, given that the portion sizes aren’t huge, but still worth it.
