The Mission - Mission Beach

We went on Christmas Eve. It was packed. They may have been short staffed but the service was really good and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is 5 star! You will over eat! For the pancakes to be so large they are amazing - not dry, not heavy, not greasy or doughy- perfectly executed! Everyone loved their selections. Highly recommend and I would definitely return. The Chilaquiles were fantastic!!!!After we left we had to walk Mission beach to walk off some of the food.

This is a must eat at place if you are visiting the Mission Beach area! We stopped by for breakfast. I didn't really have any expectations walking in. The reviews were good, so worth a try. It has a hole in the wall type of feel to it. Nothing fancy. Clean. Staff is very friendly. The food was EXCELLENT. We got the avocado toast with a single slice of french toast, and the Mission Rosemary. The avocado toast was like a beet and goat cheese salad on top of eggs and avocado toast. It was delicious. The rosemary bread.... Let me just say it was nothing like we have ever tasted. The bread was scrumptious. It was the same bread used on the avocado toast. So flavorful. The potatoes with the mission rosemary were perfect. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. And well seasoned. Finally the French toast. Now friends. I am a French toast connoisseur. This is the best French toast I have ever had in my life. My LIFE. The bread used is the best bread for French toast. It was just the right amount of sweetness to not need any syrup, but not too sweet. Beautiful crispiness from the caramelized sugar contrasted with the soft pillowy texture of the inside... It was a dream. This is our go to spot for breakfast. I can't wait to try more things on the menu!

I was visiting San Diego from out of town, and my friend suggested Mission for breakfast. Great atmosphere when we walked in, very attentive server. He explained all our options and we ordered based in his suggestions. When our food arrived my friend and I were stunned! Great presentation, generous servings and fantastic flavor. We had pancakes, avocado toast, chicken apple frittata, rosemary potatoes, and orange juice. I also got the gluten free rosemary toast, and it is the best gluten free bread I've ever had. Not low cost, but very comparable to where I live and in my opinion a very good value. I wish there was a breakfast place as good as this where I live! Come to Mission for breakfast, you will not be disappointed!

This is a true breakfast gem that’s worth every penny. The banana caramel French toast is amazing, it’s like eating banana bread, but better. Even the biscuits and gravy was full of flavor and delicious. Their breakfast potatoes are fresh and flavorful too. Highly recommend walking down mission beach after eating here to help digest the massive amount of food you’re about to eat!

Outstanding service and food made this a great brunch stop for my family. Everything we ate was wonderful and our server took excellent care of us—explaining options, making suggestions and even telling us the prices for add-ons. If I have any negative, the room is a bit noisy—no surprise for the setting. But we would certainly come back again.

Out-flipping-standing... I will be returning to try the mushroom 🍄 frittata. I had the steak and eggs this time around and it was juicy. Exceptional service. Decent prices. Wish them the best.

Visited The Mission in Mission Beach, San Diego, and had a mixed experience. The food was beautifully presented, with generous portions—especially loved the potatoes, which were perfectly seasoned! 🥔✨ However, the service was underwhelming, and the coffee didn’t quite hit the mark. We loved this place and would highly recommend stopping by for breakfast if you're in the Mission beach / Pacific beach neighborhood. The staff were wonderful - they were very attentive and the service was great here! We loved the pancakes - they were huge and the lemon curd pancake was unique and flavorful. Would recommend mixing and matching flavors. Got a slice of the French toast, which definitely lived up to the hype as well!
