"The Monroe does excellent, upscale comfort food dishes that go heavy on nostalgia in a loungey space that’s like a more upscale version of the Brady Bunch’s living room. Go for the crispy cauliflower as an appetizer, then double down on the fried chicken with skin that’s just the right level of crunchy before desserts like an ice-cream-topped brownie. This spot has a different vibe during the morning and afternoon, when it’s a coffee shop filled with college students studying and corporate types grab lunch.  " - cheryl rodewig, gabe bergado, ryan pfeffer, macy johnson

"The latest by restaurateurs Jason and Sue Chin (Seito Sushi Baldwin Park, The Osprey, Reyes Mezcaleria) may very well be their most fetching, but so is the menu of modern comfort fare. Dishes straddle the line between approachable and sophisticated – pastrami-spiced corn dogs and jerk-spiced chicken hearts served on skewers with grilled pineapple for example. The cocktail program is top-notch and the gorgeous mid-mod space a la Florida practically begs patrons to linger." - Faiyaz Kara

"In the morning and afternoon, The Monroe is a coffee shop, where college students study and corporate types grab lunch, and then turns into a cocktail lounge at night. They do excellent, upscale comfort food dishes that go heavy on nostalgia. Go for the pastrami corn dog as an appetizer, then double down on mains like steak frites or the fried chicken thigh sandwich and desserts like the ice-cream-topped brownie. When it’s not too swampy out, snag a spot out on the porch or patio." - Cheryl Rodewig

"The Monroe, the latest concept from restaurateurs Jason and Sue Chin, which is home to the perfect fried chicken, specifically, the Bell & Evans thighs with a side of watermelon-basil salad, coleslaw, and buttered biscuits." - Faiyaz Kara

Delicious food for brunch! I asked for my chicken and waffles to deconstructed (separated) and they happily obliged. The hummus was amazing. My friend loved her avocado toast meal. Our drinks were good. Our server Richard was nice and attentive. Definitely would recommend them and will be back!

This restaurant is above the five star mark!! I had the pleasure of eating lunch that had all the elements of a high end dining with better quality of food. Our server had a comedic presence that made the experience memorable. Every dish he recommended, was hands done delicious!!! He recommended the fried chicken and I wasn’t sure because some restaurants version of fried chicken is just bland. The chicken was just finger licking good! Whoever was preparing the food in the kitchen was serving it with a side of Love. The decor when you walked in was giving 1940s parlor with modern features. I wanted to eat delicious food and sit down to read a book after with coffee.

Great place near downtown Orlando. Beautiful furnished like a cozy home. They had such an amazing selection on the brunch menu it was difficult to choose. I will need to go back to try more options. Everything from fish and chips, chicken and waffles with blueberry infused butter and maple bourbon syrup (my choice), to Cobb salad, and a delectable avocado toast.

We went here for Sunday brunch and it exceeded our expectations! The decor inside is beautiful and welcoming. Very reasonable prices as well for the amount of food we got. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles (the blueberry butter sounded gross but was delicious), as well as the steak and eggs. The service was also excellent. Overall a unique and wonderful experience.

What an amazing brunch we had! The cocktails were unique and delicious. And the food was amazing. The Mrs. said that her Chicken & Waffles made her tear up they were so good! And my pork belly breakfast sandwich was out of this world. The environment is great too!

We went last night for early dinner. We had made an error with our reservation and instead of making us feel that we couldn’t be seen the hostess reassured us there was no problem and found us an incredible table. Our server Ali was more than serviceable, she had a perfect knowledge of the menu, her demeanor was calm and helpful. Food was absolutely delicious, served in a timely manner, savory and impressively well presented. Comfort food with a fine dining experience. Will strongly recommend checking them out.

We made 5:15 reservations on a Saturday night and there were still a handful of parking spaces available directly across the street. There were only about 4 other tables of customers there when we arrived but it quickly started to fill up closer to 6. We were seated quickly and James our server was very friendly and helpful in answering questions and recommendations. We tried the pork belly s’mores as an appetizer and it was very tasty with a sweet graham cracker flavor, just the right amount of fluff from the miso marshmallow, and the perfect hint of saltiness from the pork belly. My girlfriend ordered the grilled meatloaf and she gave me a taste and it was delicious. It was seasoned and grilled perfectly. The beer battered onion rings were perfectly crispy and still sweet and moist on the inside. I read the numerous raving reviews about their Famous Fried Chicken so I ordered that with the cucumber salad as a side. The chicken had a super crispy and flavorful crust and tender and juicy meat inside. The mac & cheese was a perfectly charred crust and was full of savory cheese flavor. The cucumber salad was fresh with the perfect blend of acidity and crunch. The Apple Hand Pie looked like a pop tart but was definitely hand prepared and baked. The butterscotch pudding was not overly sweet but had a definite butterscotch flavor that complemented the apple pie like flavor. We will definitely come back to try other dishes!

The food was excellent! For drinks, highly recommend Run Rabbit Run for bourbon forward, super smooth, beautiful notes experience. The Fast Pass was excellent as a mocktail and had a tiki experience with zero proof. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles for brunch or steak and eggs. Their fried chicken thighs were perfection, paired with crunchy yet soft waffles, and blueberry butter. I can't rave about it enough. The picahna was excellent and charred to perfection, yet juicy. I recommend specifying your preference for sunny side eggs because ours we a bit too runny on the egg whites. But the breakfast potatoes were super flavorful and perfect with the yolk. I cannot recommend enough their Citrus Cured Salmon shareable, a deconstructed take on bagels and lox that you can build to your liking. It was excellent! I will definitely for their dinner menu.
