The Monroe Street Drive-In Pop-Up Movie Theater Opens for the Season in November in Downtown Detroit | Eater Detroit

"Earlier in the summer the same downtown block was transformed into an outdoor roller rink that featured large-scale artwork by Detroit artist Sheefy McFly spanning the entire rink floor; the pop-up rink was part of a series of seasonal activations produced to support local small businesses during the pandemic." - Beth McKibben

What to Eat at Downtown Detroit’s New Outdoor Roller Rink | Eater Detroit

"Transformed from a winter drive-in into a summer-long outdoor recreation area at 32 Monroe Street, this downtown midway opens May 28 and features roller skating (operated by a long-running local family business), basketball and handball courts, public art installations, DJ performances, and outdoor fitness classes. It will host a daily rotating roster of food trucks alongside a separate concession stand offering salads, subs, pizza, crudité with hummus, and beverages; the rotation begins with a barbecue vendor serving Texas beef brisket sandwiches, smoked pulled pork, baby back ribs, and tacos over Memorial Day weekend. Open 12 p.m.–9 p.m. Sunday–Wednesday and until 11 p.m. Thursday–Saturday, the midway sits within walking distance of Campus Martius Park and Cadillac Square and is part of a broader pandemic-era placemaking program by a downtown real estate firm." - Monica Williams

This is permanently closed. I’m not sure why google still has it as open. It made me believe it was still operating so I planned a trip here. Unfortunately for me I came during tigers game which I’m not sports fan so I didn’t know and couldn’t find parking plus so much traffic. When I did find parking and paid, we were walking in circles trying to find this place just to realize we parked in front of it; a demolition site. When we got back to car, we looked at the website that is listed here. It says nothing about it being gone on the website until you actually search it up on google and find articles.

Great time in downtown Detroit! Lots of activities for all ages. The lights and decorations for the Christmas holiday are an amazing sight. Many little shops at the market place area. Highly recommend 💚💯💯

This was a great find Downtown. Putt putt, skating rink, dj, connect four, hopscotch, and all kinds of other games. Really great atmosphere. Very fun. You do need to sign a waiver prior to utilizing some things. Waiver is submitted online via scan code. After waiver, putt putt was free to play. Had a really great time. Perfect date night stop.

This is a beautiful outdoor, public park space provided by the City of Detroit. Different things are offered in warm weather and cold. Warm weather: There is plenty of outdoor seating, music over the speakers, FREE putt putt golf, outdoor basketball (they provide balls), hula hoops, and a jumbo chess board, tic-tac-toe board, and jumbo connect four. There's outdoor skating that does cost for the skate rentals. A couple food trucks but there's plenty food options in the area too. Update for winter time: They have a free jumbo slide with 3 lanes so you can go down side by side (ages 5 & up), free puck putt using a hockey stick and puck like putt putt golf, fire pits to warm up and free photos with Santa :) there's also $5 bumper cars and pay to play arcade. Lines were long but it was a fun time! Thank you Detroit for putting this together :) given the demographics of Detroit, I'd recommend having a black Santa though. Street parking is only $1/hr but there's also many pay to park lots starting around $10.
