The Moose - Hayward-Castro Valley Lodge 1491

It is a very fun place to go all types of events and fun stuff to do. Like car shows or cornhole tournaments or celebration of life events or just going together for a poker night. Most of the people are very kind but they do have their share of high maintenance people, you can't help that you know where you are. All I know is a very enjoyable place to go. Also the catering chefs on site all know what they're doing when it comes to making food. Great place all around to visit and loose a day or an hour or two.

We have been to so many great events at the moose lodge, including the Castro Valley / Eden Area Chamber of Commerce’s Mixer and recognition of the “Best of 2024” Winners. They just a ton of events as well.

Great fun crowd and warm welcoming members. A must stop if out of town, a must join if you live near by.

Great place to have a get together. They have a great bar also. Easy parking .

I attended a Buon Tempo dinner almost 200 guests. It was a successful and fun event. The bartender did an excellent job on drinks.

We were invited to a friends memorial service that was being held here at the Moose Lodge. The father of the deceased is a member so they were able to book the accommodations for the day. The building and I guess, dance hall, where it was held is very old fashioned. Again I've managed to find the most 1970's locations in the Bay Area this year. The hall is quite large and many people were there to pay their respects. Catering and no host bar were provided by the Lodge. I found the catering to be very nice. A selection of fruit with some salads and a few different finger sandwiches. There is a PA system to utilize microphones and we were everyone who decided to say a few things. I'm not sure if this type of event is out there available to everyone unless you're a member. Sometimes these events happen suddenly and this was great available option for this family to use to remember their family member.

My home lodge. Not only does it feel like home but everyone here knows each other. I've been to many lodges in the state and I think this lodge has the biggest bar top I've seen. Karina, Sandy & Christina are amazing bartenders. Made some great friends at this lodge that are more like family now. If you're hungry this lodge also offers a huge selection of food from inside the social quarters. Lots of different event go on from games, parties, potlucks, dances & more. If you're a member (members only fraternity) make sure you stop by!

Only been there for their monthly car events in the summer. Band plays music, provides food, dinner and they have a bar inside of lodge. Drinks are reasonable.

Worst experience ever from Bartender Sandy!!!! Basically went in tonight to order some food by myself for the first time as I am interested in joining and wanted to get a good vibe!! This woman ruined it for me and potentially my friends joining!!! Mind you I have always been invited by friends and had a nice time! Karina is great...This woman had the nerve to say to me that I had been in this establishment more than three times and should have joined by now...Thank you for noticing that I hang out with the popular crowd but do not hold it against me...Will never join and will never patronize such an establishment...Moose lounge CV, this is your representation???...Not for me!!

This place be rocking! Great people, great singers and most of all...... lots of love, friendship and fun! Enjoyed myself tonight!

This is the best lodge ever. Always something going on with friendly people. The September '11 Western Dance was fantastic as was the recent Black and White Ball. Please check out the great many pictures on the Moose site which is also on Facebook, Search Moose 149l to view them. Meet new friends or just mingle at the bar with the friendly barmiads Debbie and Diane. You may vist three times to any events including the big one before deciding to join or not. You will definitely want to be a part of this fun group. Diana

Lets just say I have only been here at the Moose Lodge once for a get together with the VFW event that was happening that night, and I clearly enjoyed myself with the company that was around. With all the good parts I'm going to say the food was to my liking, the service was good, but can use some work (we were served by Sea Cadets) at least to me it is a growing experience for them of how to deal with Veterans, and how to conduct good service compared to bad service. We had a nice open dance floor, and live music was being played which was also a treat towards the party. If I have to say I would love to come back here again with other groups.

I first found out about this place at the first East Bay Chapter California Waterfowl Dinner over a decade ago and kind of fell in love with it. When CWA stopped having their annual dinner there I missed the joint. I have been a member for about three or four years now and have really enjoyed my membership. Its a nice lodge and they are always working to improve it. Great group of folks who all like to have some good clean fun. Lots of hard workers that's for sure. Nice full bar / social quarters and separate banquet hall that always seems to be put to good use. The Hall itself can be rented, complete with catering, by members for their own gatherings. They promote and support various groups within the community that don't have their own place to meet like the Bon Tempo Club and the 4-H and so on, and so on, and so on. Hot meals 2 x each week and they actually have Wednesday leftover night where members eat leftovers for free! They have a annual car show, chili cook-off, weekly bingo & poker, darts, pool table, dances, Friday night Karaoke ....They have something special planned for every holiday that you can think of !!! Supported by the Moose International is Moose-heart, a huge facility in Illinois that takes in children in need and gives them a home and an education...not to mention many other fine deeds. A very warm and welcoming place to be. Because my mom works here I became a member. The people are friendly and the activities they have for members is nice. Very kid friendly.
