The Best Dishes Eater Philly Ate in October - Eater Philly

"Fall dining for me represents gamy, richer, fuller entrées. Bye-bye light fish dishes, hello roasted red meats. The Morris embodies all of this for me with their rabbit pot pie entrée. It’s a culinary love letter to autumn with its braised rabbit, seasoned mirepoix, peas, and show-stopping puff pastry. The rabbit is tender and complements the buttery puff pasty that’s neatly placed on top of the pot pie separately (rather than baked within it as traditional dough-based pot pies typically are). This allows for each part of this exceptional ensemble to work well — the deconstruction makes for an easier feast. Yes, I dipped pieces of that flaky pastry into the savory seasoned goodness of the mirepoix and it warmed my soul. For a reasonably priced $31 — you, too, can have a similar dining thrill." - Ernest Owens

This was my second experience dining at The Morris. We participated in Restaurant Week and the menu had a lot of great options, and four courses! The mushroom soup was really delicious and I had the rabbit pot pie. The portion was very generous - I had to bring most of it home! Also, the specialty cocktails were amazing and it was nice to have the flight option to taste them both. The service was very pleasant and charming as well. Looking forward to my next dining experience!

Google
The Morris is a comfortable, homespun, Pilgrim style bare wood floors and simple Quaker chairs type of place that reminds me of old Philly. (Have not seen the inside of the charming looking Morris Inn that owns the place ) Simple, yes. Brightly lit, yes. Romantic, no. However, the fresh take on American classics is a welcome blast of sophisticated comfort food that we really enjoyed. Sampled grilled fish, mushroom pot pie with super light crust for vegetarians, duck with a rich white bean stew, brussel sprouts with cranberries and bacon, and a delicious currant pudding for dessert. Nice wine list, friendly staff. Indoor seating plus a heated back tent that was comfortable on a 40 degree night. Seemed like a neighborhood favorite but we heard it was closing. What a shame to lose such a place...

@themorrisphil - 📍 #Philadelphia It's only February, but this is already a candidate for the meal of the year. We came to celebrate an early Valentines Day and Anniversary, and we were blown away. The ambiance is cozy, warm, and takes you right into the feel of a Philadelphia colonial dining room with a touch of a library theme. From the moment we walked in, we felt like welcomed guests into the historic Morris home. The entire service team was spectacular. You can tell they take great pride in what the restaurant is preparing and serving. The cocktail menu isn't large, but it is precise and executed masterfully. If you want wine or beer, you will not have a problem selecting one to compliment your dish and pallet. The food, well, the food is nothing short of exquisite. Every dish we had was flawless. I am so overly impressed by our entire experience at The Morris. If you are looking for somewhere in Philly to celebrate a special occasion or looking for something a little more upscale but yet still casual, check this place out! I would be remissed to forget that they also have a beautiful enclosed court yard that is a wonderful dining option as well.

We came here for my wife’s birthday. We have a huge Philly list and always think we know the best spots…and continue to add more “best” restaurants. Their outdoor seating is cozy and cute. The food was delicious. We got the salmon and the rabbit pot pie. The devil eggs were lovely. The salmon roe on top was perfect. The black currant posset was to die for. Our waitress Erin was fantastic. She was attentive and also shared our new Wicked obsession.

Stopped in after the theater, and know we’ve found a neighborhood gem! Cozy atmosphere, which was the perfect setting to take the chill out of the air. Excellent bar service by Leith, drinks, as well as personality. Learned a little (Know why Thomas Jefferson hangs upside down?), conversed some, and felt completely welcome. Ordered the Green Shrimp Scampi, which was delectable, as an appetizer. Then, I had the Grilled Caesar Salad, and my husband ordered the Mushroom Pot Pie, before we shared the cheesecake. All were delicious. Will definitely return, and return more than once. 🙃

We had a wonderful dinner with friends at The Morris! We sat outside on the patio underneath the tent with market lights and loved the atmosphere. We ordered lots of different apps, entrees, sides and enjoyed everything thoroughly! The cocktails were also delicious. The post dinner espresso martini was awesome and so smooth. I came a separate time for happy hour and sat at their bar which I loved; it felt very cozy and intimate. It will be a perfect Fall hangout spot.

We had a great time last week. The food was delicious. I also ordered the Beet It cocktail, and that was great, too. Very pretty, outdoor atmosphere which will carry into the winter with their outdoor heating. They are small dog friendly. The service was super friendly. You can tell they like their jobs and it showed in the service. We ordered the Welsh rarebit, burger and whole fish. Everything was tasty.

Google
Excellent meal at this newish restaurant adjacent to the Morris Hotel. When we made the reservation, we saw a restaurant week menu, but it wasn’t until the restaurant called us to confirm we were coming and that we knew it was only restaurant week ONLY menu that we said sure that would be fine. Well… This meal was stellar from start to finish. As there amuse Bouche, they had a pallet cleanser, which could be alcoholic or non-alcoholic we chose the alcoholic, which was a Porto Blanco plus Ancho Reyes With banana syrup and cucumber. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing that was and yes, it was a palate cleanser. We both started with the gazpacho soup -excellent and it had a great twist using the smoked almonds as well as the fennel. For our second, we got two different salads one with duck prosciutto, and fresh figs… I am a fresh fig freak that …means don’t tell me you’re putting in figs if they’re not fresh -and these were amazing. The other salad had asparagus with spinach and hard boiled egg on it just excellent. For our mains, I got the salmon and they cooked it medium rare as I requested, and it was excellent, sitting on a bed of greens around the outside surrounded by a pitted fava bean and some delicately cooked carrots. My partner got the pork chop and it was cooked to perfection as well as being accompanied by this amazing coleslaw that balanced it perfectly. For desserts, he got the chocolate bourbon cake, and I got, the lemon prosset What. It was essentially like a lemon crème brûlée but it was excellent. Our server Erin could not have been more amazing helpful and attentive. For decor I think the outside is definitely much cooler than the inside… The bar area is a little bit more forward in terms of decor, but the back area the restaurant is just so so don’t let that you definitely give this place a try

Yelp
Yummy dinner in a quaint setting. They have outside seating available as well. The mushroom soup was very good and I was too stuffed to finish my steak. But it made for a great the next day.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere, cute courtyard area that held up in the rain I would normally have never known about this small spot with a tiny door off the side but we came and had a good time

Yelp
The Morris is dog friendly! I made a reservation for my husband and I to have dinner there with our dog. We were able to locate the courtyard easily and saw that most of the courtyard was covered by a very large canopy tent. The tent flaps were left up, which I assumed was to provide ventilation. It was only when it got cooler that evening that the staff lowered the tent flaps to keep the guests warm. My husband and I, and our dog, had a lovely time. I really love this beautiful, covered courtyard space. Being able to dine out in a beautiful courtyard like this is so rare, and to have our dog with us just made it even better. On to the food and drinks, the drinks were good, but the food was just okay. My husband was interested in trying the Welsh Rarebit, so we shared that as our appetizer. It was just all right, a beer and cheese fondue served with toasted bread. Nothing to write home about. For our mains, he had a rabbit pot pie, and I had the roasted chicken (which is no longer on the menu). Both dishes were just fine - not bad, but not great either. The chicken smelled gamey, which did not turn me off from the dish, but the chef could have done more to eliminate the smell. Knowing that there's better roasted chicken at Talula's Garden next door really made me wish I could order some from them and eat it here. As for service, the staff was great from start to end. Very welcoming and nice. We actually arrived a lot later than expected, but they gave us no grief about it. Throughout dinner, our server checked in on us but also gave us plenty of privacy. She also brought out a generous portion of bacon for our dog! As I took a closer look of the bowl of bacon, the bacon looked super lean, not a single hint of fat on it! So, I decided to let our dog have the entire thing, which he enjoyed so much. Despite the food just being okay, I would still come back. Brunch/dinner in this courtyard with my husband and our dog? I say, anytime. The Morris also hosts weekday Yappy Hour during certain months. Definitely follow them on Instagram if you're interested in bringing your dog here.

Yelp
This is my favorite brunch spot in Philly. The building is BEAUTIFUL, and the food is always delicious with quality ingredients. The staff here is amazing and they are always so hospitable and sweet. Their back patio area is tented and fully heated in winter and decorated with Christmas trees and beautiful star lights. Their drinks are amazing as well. My favorite seasonal dish is the Duckin waffles! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I took advantage of restaurant week and I am glad i did. I started with a palate cleanser. It was alcohol based with banana and cucumber notes. The result left you with a clean fresh mouth free from whatever was going on prior to the cleanser. I chose gazpacho next. It was served cold, with basil, fennel, and smoked almonds. The tomatoes were roasted, and there was goat cheese in there. I didn't taste roasting in the almonds but there was still plenty going on to ensure success. My next course was a duck fig salad. The duck was in thin prosciutto strips, cheese, orange wedges, greens, and a blood orange vinaigrette. Also dried cherries were scattered throughout the. This was highly successful although I would have loved more duck. I chose rabbit pot pie for the entree. I never eat rabbit so I was curious. No, it doesn't taste like chicken, but it is a lighter, mild meat. Otherwise it was a typical pot pie which is a good thing. It had a side salad. That brought me to dessert. I went with chocolate bouchon that had a dense dark chocolate outer surface and moist dark chocolate within. Caramel sauce and chantilly cream finished it off. Winner. It's easy to give this place my stamp of approval.

Yelp
What can I say? I chose this place for a very special reason, in honor of a friend I recently lost. Luckily it was Restaurant Week in Philly, and I scored a last-minute reservation. The starter, a lovely mushroom soup amuse, was delightful. Next up, Welsh rarebit. I had luckily googled it, and being a fan of all things cheese, it hit the spot - gooey and warm with thick rye bread toast. The main was a surprise - a perfectly done gorgeous steak - beautifully seared crust on the outside, a just right meat temperature on the inside. And as a finale, a charming little chocolate torte cake heaped with fresh berries. People, this is why we have Restaurant Week - to try out new places which might not have otherwise appeared on your radar. Kudos to the amazing staff, who gifted me with a myriad of kindnesses. You know what you did, and I appreciate you - everyone from the bar staff to the servers to the hostess to Chris, the general manager with the most beautiful heart. Thank you, thank you.

Yelp
I went to the Morris restaurant for Fall 2023 Restaurant Week. I entered through the nice outdoor dining area but dined inside. On a nicer weather day it is definitely one of the best outdoor restaurant dining spaces in the city. My meal consisted of an adult beverage, the shrimp cocktail, the Morris steak, and the torte chocolat. The shrimp cocktail was a great start to the meal. 5 or 6 juicy shrimp. I also tried my friend's deviled eggs. They were just OK. The steak was delicious. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to temperature. I did not like the tote, which was a flourless chocolate cake. I tried my friend's crème brulee, which was much better. The Morris Restaurant provides really good food at a great value with their restaurant week menu. The great value part is a rarity these days. If you are looking to go out for restaurant week, the Morris should be at the top of your list. But you will get a good meal here at any time, and in the warmer months you can't beat the outdoor space.

Yelp
While the food was good here, the service was a letdown. Since we had been staying at this hotel, my husband and I decided to try out the on-site restaurant. Typically, we don't bother to try an on-site restaurant where we stay, but we made an exception because the reviews for the food were good. Of course, the hotel staff recommended the restaurant. My husband really wanted to try the rabbit pot pie, which he ordered, and I ordered the mushroom pot pie. Both our pot pies were hearty and tasty, and as you can see in the images provided, the top crust is this flaky croissant-style top. Wonderful. Our waitress, however, was oblivious to our needs. She waited on us for the first 5 minutes as we ordered our food and brought us our drinks. After she brought us our food, I believe she visited our table one more time. She would pass us by and not ask how we were doing or anything. When we were done, another waitstaff member removed our plates. We were going to order dessert, but she never stopped by, even though my husband tried to flag her down. We would make eye contact and nothing. My stars are really for the service here. The food was good, but her lack of effort or care just killed the mood. She did finally stop by after ten minutes to fill our water glasses, and my husband kindly told her "no more water," which would indicate we were done. However, she didn't get that memo when we told her that we wanted our check. Instead, we saw her chatting away with other staff at the bar and not bringing us our check for another ten minutes.

Yelp
Never know this place is exist right next to Penn hospital. I was searching for new restaurants for a friend's birthday and decided to try this out. It located inside the Morris House Hotel. First of all, the drinks were amazing and food was delicious. The bar inside is so lovely and classy. It gives you an English vibes. They also have outside seats that have heat to keep you warm. Our entire experience was fantastic. They gave us free champagne and 2 desserts for my friend's birthday celebration. Awesome customer services!! Our servers are so friendly and very helpful. Definitely will be back soon!

Yelp
Service: 5/5, super attentive and payed attention to the littlest details. They reviewed over my reservation and actually read the notes unlike many other places. Had some on the house drinks because of my special occasion. Food: Steak was solid, nothing special...needs a better crust. Tasted like it was cooked on coal, Smokey taste. The rabbit pot pie was delicious and one of the best pot pies I've ever had. Tons of shredded meat and a large loaf of flakey crust to break into it. Highly recommend. The cheese dip thing we got was delicious...forget the name of it but highly recommend Atmosphere: One of the best outdoor tent seating in the whole tri-state area. It was perfectly heated, no wearing a jacket while eating. Nice lights and decorations.

Yelp
Super stylish and trendy restaurant in Penn Hospital area. It's easy to miss, but spacious once inside. Lighting in the outdoor area is comfy but classy and the area is also heated when necessary. The menu is elevated with some rabbit and other niche choices. Menus are cool, book-like designs. Service is decent. No complaints but nothing to write home about. Bar area is small but full service and like another reviewer wrote has an Enlgish feel to it. A must visit spot.
google avatar

Sy L.

Yelp
We reserved for inside seating but when we arrived the hostess suggested that we try the outdoor heated seating. I am so happy that we took her up on the suggestion. It was actually warmer outside than it was inside. The broc/cheddar frittata was delicious. The shrimp and Grits was equally as good. The Mimosa set up was cool. It was $50 for a carafe of OJ and bottle of bubbles and a 2nd bottle on the house ( I did partake in the 2nd bottle ).
google avatar

Yelp
Went for brunch and it was great! Our group was cozy and had wonderful service. We enjoyed finding the bottom mimosas (start with 1 comes with 2 bottles and a crafe of juice for $50). All of our meals were delicious and the potatoes were crispy! Would love to return

Yelp
came down here on a Friday night and it was a lovely night in their courtyard. Happened to be Restaurant week, which i wasn't aware of, and it was a nice surprise. Food was really good. The drinks were really good. the service was REALLY good. All around a great establishment, well decorated, good vibes. Looking forward to coming back again.

Yelp
The service here was fantastic! Our waiter was so attentive and quick even though it was fairly busy. We received a complimentary glass of champagne for the new year which was so thoughtful and the bread was delicious. I would definitely recommend the salmon dish. Overall, 10/10 experience.
google avatar

Niqua L.

Yelp
Everything at this establishment was a delight to eat. The pot pie is nice and creamy although I'd prefer a doughy top over flaky. The eggs were full of so much flavor and the sauce w the Salmon was a good compliment. I'll definitely be back

Yelp
Terrific setting in garden with tent, cool with fans, with floral setting, friendly and efficient service, nice cocktails and proteins on menu, Caesar salad one of the best in town.

Yelp
Delicious American food. We visited the Morris Restaurant on a Saturday night in October. The restaurant was busy, but there were tables available. The outdoor patio is extensive and seems to be a nice place to sit in the summer. During the winter, the patio is sealed and the heaters make it feel as warm as indoors. The decor inside suggests a literary feel which is consistent with the quirky menus presented like short novels. I tried the pear of apples to drink, the vichyssoise as a starter, and the mushroom pot pie as a main. The pear of apples was eminently drinkable with a great smoky sweet flavor. The vichyssoise was lukewarm, but the flavor of the soup was lovely. The mushroom pot pie was served with a large removable pastry on top of the dish and a bed of lemony greens on the side. The filling was delectable, but the pastry itself was pretty bland even though it appeared inviting. Overall, I had a great experience at the Morris Restaurant and would recommend them for dinner in Philly.

Yelp
The Morris House offered us a terrific food experience during Restaurant Week January 2024. I had spied this deceptively large restaurant several times during my walks to Washington Square Park and was lured by the opportunity to taste their dishes in a prix-fixe (45USD) three course menu. Here's my review: We walked thru a cozy , dim lit bar into a small comfortable restaurant with wood plank floors, creamy dark walls, wallpaper, bookcases, candles and wooden tables. Imagine my surprise when I went to the restroom and saw a big bright tent opposite the door filled with customers at many tables! What kind of magic was this? Boy Howdy! My husband and I had Smoked Mushroom Soup Amuse Bouche and appetizers of Welsh Rarebit and Asparagus Salad. These were delicious! My second course was Rabbit Pot Pie. The pie pastry was on top of the pot rather than cooked on the bottom which made them flakey and buttery. Mike had the Morris House Steak cooked a perfect medium rare. This was the best cut of meat that I've had in a long long time. Deserts were an Apple Creme Brulee and Torte Chocolat. Everything we ate and drank were fabulous! Our waiter was personable and kind. 5 stars!!!

Yelp
One of my favorites spots in Philly. The food and service are excellent. The ambiance is lovely and I like the intimacy.

Yelp
Tonight was our second time here for dinner. Love the low key and relaxed atmosphere. Food is exceptional. Tonight we had the pistachio encrusted salmon as part of the 3-course Valentine's Day menu which was delicious. We enjoyed their take on tiramisu as well. Drinks are exceptional. The service is excellent, Clarence was an excellent server.

Gorman G.

Yelp
All the servers are incredibly knowledgeable and so wonderful to talk to. Food is amazing and portions are phenomenal. Vibe is super relaxed and fun, and the managers are so accommodating to any needs.

Diana B.

Yelp
Discerning friends had told me the Morris Hotel Restaurant was one of their favorites. So our family of three had dinner there last night. What a disappointment! Yes, the wait staff was excellent, the setting great, the drinks good, the servings large, but the quality of food was poor. The pork roulade was undercooked, tough, tasteless, and almost impossible to cut with a knife, the brussel sprouts soggy. The filet mignon was full of gristle, the deserts good but heavy and too sugary. And the meal was very expensive. Was it just an off night there? I have no idea.

Sam T.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! Top 3 spressy in the city. Each meal was so flavorful, we were definitely full. The patio was fully heated. Can't wait to come back in the spring!

Taylor L.

Yelp
We had the best experience here! Our waiter Clarence was awesome and recommended several dishes/cocktails to us that we loved. Both the cocktails and food were amazing. We had the duck & fig salad, rabbit pot pie, pork loin, and pumpkin cheesecake. All were delicious!
google avatar

JoAnna S.

Yelp
Delightful!! Since Morris Restaurant was under new ownership, my husband and I went for dinner to see what had changed. From the initial encounter with the hostess to our final goodbye to our server Leeth, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. We had the four course dinner during restaurant week and every course excited our pallets. The menu was varied with each item having its own chef's spin on the flavors. The manager, Chris, came over to greet us and engaged in warm conversation. We ended the night with a smile on our faces knowing we will be back and will be bring friends with us!
google avatar

Rebecca S.

Yelp
We eat at The Morris frequently because we love the outdoor venue under the tent and we can bring our dog. The food and service is consistently good and we always have a pleasant experience. Tonight they had a special of Linguine with Shrimp which was outstanding . I highly recommend this restaurant. Among my favorite dishes ate the scallops, the asparagus salad,, the mushroom pot pie, and of course the french fries which are the best in the city. The creme brûlée dessert is amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
We had an amazing meal at The Morris in January 2024 for Restaurant week. We were a party of six, excellent service and drinks! The portions were very generous especially considering it was restaurant week prices.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was an amazing and cozy dinner experience. The service was super friendly and accommodating. The food was exceptional and fairly priced. I had the rabbit pot pie which was really tasty and perfect on a cold winter's day. Will definitely come back here again!

Yelp
Great food, staff, and ambiance. All top notch, best Philly has to offer in terms of fine dining either casual or dressed up

Yelp
The food was amazing, the service was impeccable and the ambiance was quiet and perfect for a date night. We will definitely be going back!

Yelp
The Morris is lovely! We ate outside in the lovely heated and covered courtyard. It was beautiful and bright. Easy to see not dark or clubby. The inside was very cute and the bar area looked like a fun small area to have drinks and happy hour. There are only a handful of tables inside and although nice the outside was quieter and more spacious. Side note I do wish all restaurants had hooks like at the bar to hang your bag at the table though. The service was really sweet but you can tell they're getting their footing still. Drinks were good but took a while to receive. The same with the appetizers, which were all delicious! The deviled eggs were unique and had tarragon. So definitely on the fancy side. The polenta was amazing! My 14 year old would have eaten the entire thing happily. The Caesar salad was also quite good. Two of our table had burgers, which were good but the fries were ridiculously good! I would go back just for the fries. One of us had the salmon and it looked delicious and I had the scallops. Also very good. It'd also make a fantastic appetizer as it's very rich and quite a nice portion. We didn't have dessert but they all sounded delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant! The staff was extremely friendly and it was a lovely place. We will return.

Yelp
The ambiance and the decor of the restaurant is amazing. It was comforting and elegant. Our waitress was very attentive and kind! The food here was spectacular. We came for Restaurant Week and were amazed! We ordered the shrimp cocktail and Welsh Rarebit for our first course, Rabbit Pot Pie and the Morris Steak for our second course, and the Lavender Creme Brûlée and Strawberry Panna Cotta for dessert. Our drinks were delicious as well! We will be back again!

Beth R.

Yelp
Great food, service and atmosphere. We had the bistro steak the mushroom pot pie, salad wedge and apple crème brûlée. All excellent.

Yelp
On a beautiful spring night, I can't think of a more delightful place for drinks and light bites than the Morris. My friend and I enjoyed happy hour prices on wine and drinks and ordered the polenta and beets from the main menu. The drinks were great and the food was delicious. The setting in the garden was great. As good as the food and ambiance, the service was even better. Such a pleasant evening! We will be back for dinner in the near future.

R M.

Yelp
Went to The Morris for the first time and had a wonderful evening! I hope you get a chance to connect with Leath and the GM, they were awesome! Loved their recommendations for drinks and dessert! They also concocted some interesting recipes while we were there and it was yummy!! Until next time :)

Sara M.

Yelp
Food was phenomenal for brunch! The ambience is so initimate and the staff was so attentive and lovely. Will definitely be back!

Jason R.

Yelp
What a wonderful birthday dinner. Service was spectacular and the ambience was cozy yet refined. My rabbit pot pie was delicious and my girlfriend's steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Monica A.

Yelp
Food was delicious and staff was so attentive. Our waiter, Clarence, made it so special!

Yelp
We were able to get a last minute reservation after a show and loved the ambiance from the start. We were actually able to sit in the outside section but was pleasantly surprised that they had it heated just right. The food was really good with an eclectic menu. We did the rabbit pot pie which was awesome and the shrimp scampi. Drinks were on point and the servers energy was really what put it over the top for us. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
Food was great. Service was amazing. Our waiter was a really cool & funny guy. Ambiance was nice too. Got the house steak. A little salty, but cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Tried out this place last night. They said they had just redone their menu. Overall, it is a a pretty simple American menu but everything was very well done. I loved the asparagus salad and the salmon dish was perfect -- will definitely be going back for those! The service was very attentive and friendly and the decor is so cozy and perfect for a cold winter night. Will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Ambiance is great, both inside and in the beautiful outside. Service has been all over the place in our few recent visits, from great to weak. Most of our food has been very good. Bistro steak, mushroom pie, dorade, scallop bucatini plus all apps good. The cheeseburger is awful - avoid that! For the restaurant - please put the upcharge steak sauce in something a bit larger that the tiny container. It doesn't work for those of us who don't pour the sauce over the filet. Love this spot so I hope they make the tweaks needed to be a success!

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a unique restaurant on a quick trip to Philadelphia. I came across The Morris which is part of the Historic Inn Morris House Hotel. It was a lovely evening so we sat in the heated courtyard. Our server (John) was fabulous. He was very attentive but not overbearing. The food and drink were exceptional and brough to the table in a timely manner. My wife had the Winter Garden Salad which was a meal in itself. Apparently this is a seasonal item but we told the server to keep it on the menu. She also ordered the scallops and risotto which was exceptional. My meal consisted of shrimp scampi...some of the best shrimp I have ever had (5 shrimp in total) and the 10 oz Morris Steak. I have never been unable to finish a good steak but the portion was so large that I had to take part of it home. We had no room for desert. The total bill including 3 drinks was $120 before tax and tip. It was a great evening and we would recommend you give this place a try.

Yelp
I live in Philadelphia and had no idea this place existed. A beautifully restored hotel and restaurant built in 1787. The food and service were incredible. John, our server gave phenomenal recommendations and was very attentive. As for food, we had the shrimp cocktail which was great, but what really stood out was the French fries and burger. Top notch. Now one of our favorites in the city. Can't wait to come back and we highly recommend it.

Yelp
Incredible sweet care for my kids by Clarence during my husbands 48th birthday. We felt so relaxed and happy and joyful and it was all his doing. Foood was delicious and subtle and service immaculate.
