The Mud Club Review - Woodstock - Hudson Valley - The Infatuation

"The Mud Club is the perfect morning stop for coffee and some bagels. The space is basically a gorgeous Hudson Valley backyard to lounge and play in, with a bunch of benches and giant rocks where you can spend a couple of hours planning an afternoon hike or your inevitable move Upstate. The wood-fired bagels are impressive on their own, but we always find ourselves ordering the Tinker Tuesday BEC that comes with house tomato jam and horseradish aioli." - Anne Cruz

Scarr’s Pizza Is Hosting a Wood-Fired Bagel Pop-Up | Eater NY

"I noticed a wood-fired bagel pop-up from Woodstock’s The Mud Club taking over the kitchen at the original Scarr’s Pizza on Orchard Street through the end of February. They’re selling plain, poppy, and everything bagels for $3 each, with cream cheeses paired with smoked fish or scallion costing a few dollars more; bagel sandwiches range from $12 for a bacon, egg, and cheese to $20 for a bagel with brisket, pickles, and hot mustard. The Mud Club is open Friday to Sunday from 9 a.m. until it sells out." - Luke Fortney

Absolutely wonderful. Im not just saying this about the food. Everything from the location to the customer service is a the top, hit every single point, and exceeds every expectation. Immediately upon getting there we were greeted to a lovely explanation of how they make the food. They took our order with great attention to every last detail and ample seating space. It took no time to bring us our order and everything from the texture to the taste was perfect. Im embassrrassed to admit that I was licking the wrapper. If you are in the area, go here!

I’m so glad Russ & Daughters had a 45min wait because I found the Mud Club. Although I’m partial to a chewier bagel, I loved the vibe at the Mud Club, which had a rustic, folksy vibe in everything from the signage and decor to the bagel and the hospitality. The two owners (brothers?) were incredibly welcoming and put together some delicious options for their bagel sandwiches. We missed out on the pastries, but loved the Gardener (squash cream cheese and pickled chilies) and Egg & Cheese (with aioli and jam) on their everything bagels. The char from the wood fire oven was delicious and unexpected, but I would have preferred my bagel to be slightly less crispy. We sat outside in their parklet and enjoyed our bagel with coffee. Cheers to these guys and their awesome bagel shop.

This place was the BEST! Warm bagels with a crispy and flavorful exterior filled with delicious tuna and chicken salad, they do a great BEC too! So good and great spot if you want to try a new kind of bagel — wood fired was on point 💕

This coffee shop is amazing, but what really stood out was the service. The girl who helped me was not only super kind and attentive, but also had the sweetest energy, made my whole visit 10/10. Definitely coming back, highly recommend!

The palmier is one of the best pastries I’ve had in my entire life. I also had the veggie bagel with squash cc on everything which was great- perfect size and cc amount. Everyone working was so friendly and kind!

Ahhhhhmazingly yummy! Taste, smell, texture… all spectacular. Got the brisket on sesame bagel, & an everything bagel. I prefer the brisket bit on the fatty side, & thankfully they offer a choice (can get lean if pref). Top of w/ friendly, positive, & quick service. Seriously, run (to!) while they’re around this month (Feb’24).

Menu is so cute with bagels, sandwiches, all kinds of pastries to choose from! The Montrealer sandwich with brisket was really impressive, thick slices of beef paired with mouthwatering pickles and yellow mustard, perfect. Also enjoyed the fisher sandwich, umami smoked trout cream cheese. Do try their pastries, the size was huge for such a good price.

The Brisket is chewy but good, perhaps needs to be sliced thinner to eat easier. Pickles and mustard with the brisket is always a great combo. However, the bagel was tough to chew. Pastries are soso, big portions but standard taste. The cinnamon cup-cake like croissant had raw dough all in the center. I guess the size prevents it to cook right internally? Palmier was alright, it’s just Nutella. Don’t recommend the pastries, again, large portions but lacks refinement. Super friendly and welcoming environment. Best of luck!
