There is really nothing like this place. Peaceful during the day, music outdoors on the patio every night. Well-made coffee drinks, teas, and pastries. Such a friendly community of staff, musicians, and patrons. Tuesday night open mic, Thursday jazz, Friday blues, every other night a delightful surprise! You'll find me there; they can't get rid of me. Also, they have a limited selection of beer and wine. Easy parking in lots immediately behind and across the street, and a structure a half block away.

The owner himself helped me out on a random week day, maybe around 11-12. Super nice guy, gave me a discount since it was my first time. I got a “sex on the peach” or something like that, don’t really remember its name. But it was a delicious tea. Can’t wait to go again and try their coffee.

We visited this coffee shop for the first time on a Friday evening and had a wonderful experience. They offer a wide variety of coffees and pastries to choose from. The service was excellent, and the drinks were fantastic. One of the highlights was the outside patio, where you can sit and listen to live music from local artists. It made for a delightful evening. We will definitely be back!

I've only been once, had the vanilla with two pumps latte. It wasn't good. It was ok, but wasn't.... good you know? 3.2/10 I doubt I'd be back unless it's for their jazz night on Thursdays.

Google
The best rose latte I’ve ever had! The in house rose water syrup is amazing! Everyone in the shop are also super friendly

Isabella

Google
Chill place with decent coffee. The Elvis latte was good but really sweet, and kind of pricey for a smaller coffee. Options for people who don’t like coffee too. Lots of seating and the outdoor seating was a nice plus. Friendly and quick service.

Google
Great coffee and, very cozy atmosphere. The owner was very welcoming and warm. He mentioned that there was live music as well, which sounded like fun! Definitely recommend

Google
Very comfortable vibe here great indoor and outdoor seating. A lot of the outdoor seating has an umbrella or something to provide shade. The coffee is on the sweeter side but still good. But a great place to hang out!

Yelp
This is a great spot for a lot more than just coffee! They have live music, karaoke and open Mic night; check in with them for the full schedule. We've been many times, but on our last visit, it was a Friday night and they had a live band, which was amazing! Awesome crowd and nice weather for the patio. I recommend the great pastries, we tried a cherry danish and a muffin, and both were so good! Their lattes are delicious. The decor inside is quaint and inviting , very cozy. They offer indoor and outdoor patio seating so you can choose what you prefer. Service is always top notch here.

Yelp
Great experience!! This coffee shop is sooooo cute! I love the cute owls everywhere. It's dark and cozy inside. I love that! The vibe is a bit trendy or hipster. The staff were very friendly and made our drinks rather quickly. Good service here! 10/10 White Mocha Iced Coffee Latte 10/10 I went with the 16 oz size. This was sweet and light! I loved it. I do wish it was a bit sweeter, maybe next time I will ask for more white mocha. Very smooth coffee drink. I do want to try the London Fog drink next. Blueberry Latte 10/10 This one was good! It definitely had a blueberry flavor. My husband ordered this one, but I had to try it lol It was stronger tasting coffee wise. Not my flavor. My husband enjoyed it a lot though. Overall, love this coffee shop!! I know my husband and I will be back to try other flavors. :)

Yelp
Apparently, every asshole owner of the venue thinks they can run an Open Mic night. But there's a lot of problems with this one. It's outdoors on the patio which is fine, except the seating is uncomfortable. The crowd seems very supportive, but then half the crowd is from the neighboring place Jaxson's. The real issue lies with the owner himself and the rules he sets up. It's a 7 o'clock show with a 6 o'clock sign up. Today the sign ups were already 20 deep before 6 PM. So much for 'the rules'. And then he want me to buy a beer or something before I even sign up. Like most people who've already signed up before the sign-up time, I'm not hanging around until my play time. I'm coming back. Do you want me to buy something from you over an hour before the evening starts much less before I get on? Really? Pointing this out, falls on deaf ears. He couldn't care less. Now the greedy Pay For Play attitude (which no talent should be forced into) I can maybe look past because I want to be in a patron of the establishment. I was last week! But this bullshit of making you buy the drink an hour before the show starts or not signing up until after that point (which means you won't be on until 10 PM by the way) is fucking ludicrous. And then the owner says my favorite phrase from venues that do everything wrong. "That's all we always do it". Anybody who's done anything knows that when someone says that they've given up trying to do it right. They just do it their way. Any professional has only heard assholes say that phrase. It's a shame too. The audience seems nice and the host is as well. But the owner is a raging asshole that won't get another penny of mine. And fuck him for his attitude about talent. By the way, I have the credentials for this. I was top entertainer and emcee for Bill Medley's The Hop, where I ran the greatest Talent Show in Southern California for a decade. Ask anyone who has seen it or been in it. Also at Disneyland, national radio, and all kinds of places the owner of this place will never ever be.

Yelp
Came to The Night Owl for a show and had a great time! It's a small, cozy venue with a laid-back vibe--perfect for a relaxing Sunday evening of live music. Seating is very limited, so I recommend bringing your own chair to stay comfy. Fun spot for music lovers

Yelp
Great place to come and have a good cup of tea/coffee and read a book or listen to some live music which they happen to have tonight. The baristas are always kind and prep my drink perfectly to my liking. They have some awesome nights for open mic as well. It's hard to find places like this, where the neighborhood vibes are good and you can feel creativity in the air. Come support the local coffee shop and the arts! I just wish they stayed open later on the weekends...

MonBean B.

Yelp
Walked inside through the back, immediately was greeted and asked if we have ever been there before. The employee walked us through some favorites and made some recommendations. Both of our drinks were tasty and flavorful, made pretty quickly. We will definitely be returning some time in the future to try some other delicious flavors.

Yelp
Came here for a pick me up on 4th of July. The person helping me was very patient and sweet as I kept asking about the milk calories. I got the banana latte and my bf got a mocha. I did like mine it was very strong and it did the job, I asked for it half sweetened. The place was so cute they have live music and book clubs. Very cute place.

Yelp
Been going to school for quite a while here and I did not know about a coffee shop that was open that late. I went on a Thursday night come to find out it's an open mic jazz night so the vibe is already. They have an outside patio for the music but inside is mainly just coffee, oh also they serve alcohol for open mic night. The coffee was alright wasn't anything special, just syrups. I had gotten an iced BBL (banana bread latte): the flavor was there but the coffee wasn't. This place mainly for the music and friendly vibe!!

Yelp
After I dropped off my car we stumbled upon this little coffee shop. We showed up initially thinking this had breakfast, but it was actually just a small coffee shop with pastries. Honestly did not disappoint! The service was great! I can't remember his name, however he had soo many suggestions for us to try. He had local restaurants for us Togo too if we were feeling hungry afterwards. He was honestly by far the best host/waiter we've encountered honestly EVER! The prices aren't bad at all! They're about the same if lot less than Starbucks, and BETTER! To top it off they have pretty cool stuff for the evening , they had open mic night on select days, which I thought was pretty cool. Honestly if you're around Fullerton give them a try!

Yelp
We stopped in Night Owl for the first time for some of their unique latte flavors. I tried the spiced maple latte and , while it was good, I wish the flavoring was stronger. Staff were extremely friendly! I was greeted within seconds of walking in the door and had my drink in hand a few minutes later. The owl theming is very fun, with lots of hand drawn owls and kitschy owly tchotchkes. I saw that they have a small back area for outdoor seating (with dogs!) available.

Yelp
Great coffee venue near Cal State Fullerton and other local schools. We came here for a coffee run and stayed to enjoy the music. It seems like a great spot for students to study, as there were many in groups and also singles with their laptops out and coffees at hand. They have live music on occasions and post about the upcoming shows regularly. We will be back to enjoy the coffee and listen to some local bands play.

Yelp
The service was the best part about my visit here. The staff was so lovely and accommodating, and overall really helpful in working through the menu. The Spanish latte was just okay but not particularly tasty and a bit forgettable. The coffee cake was really nice though! The space is more niche decorated and maybe just not for me, but they do have a lot of community-building events that I may check out. The outdoor space is nice and not too loud.

Yelp
10/10 service, great place place to study, kinda crazy prices I went here about a week ago with a friend who's a regular who loves this place. I got one of her favorites (sex by the peach lol) which was honestly pretty sweet, even for a tea/lemonade drink. Wasn't a huge fan, felt a bit ordinary for the price. But today my friend and I wanted to get some writing done and this is her favorite coffee shop in the area to work. I decided to get the iced regular size Caramel Apple Chai because I was looking for something without coffee with cinnamon. I'm allergic to diary so I got soy milk as an alternative which was an extra 65 cents (very reasonably priced compared to other cafes). Without tip, my total came to $9.03. If I didn't have a milk alternative, my total would've been $8.38. I think the barista noticed my slightly shocked expression at my $9+ drink and apologizing explained that it was because of the tariffs which made a bit more sense. I was REALLY hoping the drink was amazing (because for almost $10 I hope it's the best latte ever lol) and this drink did not disappoint! I was a little worried about my soy milk alternative, but this drink was kinda perfect. It had a good mix of apple and caramel flavors. It tasted like fall! Not too sweet, not too much ice. I don't know if I can normally justify a $10 drink, but this one might be it. The customer service was also excellent. My friend and I worked at one of the tables for a few hours and the barista at the front (Mal) knew multiple returning customers by name and chatted with all of them. It was extremely windy and the door kept flying open, but Mal handled it very well. The customer service here was incredibly personal and made it a great environment to work, write, and study. There was also outlets to use where I could plug in my laptop. Will definitely be returning with my friend.

Yelp
I absolutely love the Night Owl Cafe! The baristas and employees are very nice and go out of their way to make everybody feel welcome. They have excellent coffee and serve wonderful pastries from Home Boy Industries. Best of all, they are open until 10pm and have entertainment every single night of the week. My wife and I go every Friday evening to see the Boulevard Blues Band (excellent band) and look forward to it all week.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in Fullerton, because of their Banana Bread Latte and the awesome decor and fantastic customer service. Joe the owner is so awesome and nice, the other guy who was there oh man his name is forgive me if I am wrong Mas, Mo, oh my gosh so sorry I'm probably butchering his name, but he was very nice. I really wanted a coffee before picking up baby girl from school and her two friends. I haven't been here in a while and so I decided to get a treat for myself before school gets out. I told him I needed to take a picture so not to shake it so I get a good shot. Lol he said the pressure was on but I said no, you always make it good came out Perfect I wish I got a large, but today I got a medium. Delicious banana bread latte you'll have to try it. I guess they have music nights which I still need to come and check out one day. The atmosphere is beautiful they have a lot of owls everywhere. I'm definitely a night owl so this coffee shop fits me perfectly. :) Thank you always for your amazing service and incredible banana red latte. Again, so sorry if I forgot your name thank you so much for your kindness lol. It was quite busy today a lot of college students today doing their schoolwork and drinking their amazing coffee. Parking lot is behind the shop, but I parked on the street so I can leave as quick as possible. Lol Had to edit my voice text hates me LOL Have a beautiful day, be kind to everyone :) Aloha

Yelp
This is such a cute and cozy café with live music in the back. Came here not expecting much but a typical coffee shop but was surprisingly impressed with this cafe. They are open a bit later it seems and it wasn't too crowded on a Thursday night. They have a huge selection of coffees, tea, lattes and smoothies. I saw that they have baked goodies as well. Plenty of tables and the outside patio has live band playing when I was there. The music does get a little loud but it's okay too. So glad we stumbled upon such a nice cafe. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend. There's parking in the back and garage of this location.

Yelp
If you want really good coffee in the most unpretentious, down the earth, friendly place...this is it. New favorite place. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We visited The Night Owl in support of a friend, LUCIANO, who was performing at the Acoustic Singer/Songwriters sponsored that evening. From the front entrance on Harbor Boulevard in old town Fullerton, The Night Owl greets it's guests with wood-paneled wals cleverly and brightly coiffed with artwork by local artisans. Stroll thru the median hallway of the venue and you'll wind up at the cozy performance area that serves as a fire-fit flamed "backyard patio." What a welcoming, cozy but eminently supportive way to surround our local performing artists with the support they richly deserve! As we were coming from dinner and stayed for only an hour, my bride and I confined our order to drinks only- A coffee for the prettiest lady there and a Modelo for Yours Truly. The Night Owl proudly serves its guests an array of pastries baked by Homeboy Bakeries, so you can choose from buttery croissants, decadent cinnamon rolls and classic coffee cake among others. Pro Tip- Break up your "Netflix and chill" routine, come out and support the talented, aspiring artists and dreamers who perform at various lice events hosted at The Night Owl!!! The restrooms were suitably clean + stocked.

Yelp
The service was super kind, my drink was a little too sweet for me and they were kind enough to remake the drink for me and it was perfect. They are open for a good amount of time and I was able to get a good amount of work done
google avatar

Nadia M.

Yelp
Came here for the first time today. Had the banana bread latte with oat milk. It was surprisingly tasty and the banana wasn't too overpowering. Inside the coffee shop is cute and cozy. We were there for a while and then they had live music which was nice. I thought they only played music during the week so it was a nice surprise. I'd come back here once again.
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee, Live music, beer and wine. I would give them an extra star just for serving Franziskaner wheat beer, if they didn't already deserve it. Really like the dark ambiance inside. Know that the patio has lots of seating, but inside seating is limited. The free wifi is fast and the snacks are fresh. The staff come with a smile and can make all the normal coffees. never had a bad interaction of experience. Parking is easy during the day and there are options at night if you show up for the music.
google avatar

Lynn H.

Yelp
Easily one of my favorite Fullerton coffee shops. The staff is so personable & inviting. The drinks are great. The indoor seating is cute & quaint, while the outdoor seating is perfect for larger groups. Parking is super easy (which can sometimes be a struggle in other parts of the area).
google avatar

Jo S.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop in downtown Fullerton, with a great looking facade and chill vibe. The interior is cute, cozy, lots of seating and they were playing great jazz music when I stopped by. Not as crowded as other places in the area, fine by me, with a better selection of pastry. The chocolate croissants and the danish-es were plentiful and looked fresh and tasty so we didn't have to think much! The latte was decent, not outstanding, but it no complaints. Decent service, cute decor and nice atmosphere. A solid choice!

Nate U.

Yelp
Love the Night Owl-- shoutout to Joe and his team!!!!! Anyone who's in Fullerton has to stop by this awesome spot.
google avatar

Elle C.

Yelp
Fun-&-friendly customer service! We've enjoyed going in the evening -- especially on a recent Friday night -- with live music outside! I'm glad I decided to try something other than plain coffee, allowing me to discover that I really enjoy their Dirty Hippie (hot). Great way to spend an evening: sipping on a tasty hot beverage, seated outdoors, with live music!
google avatar

Jorge C.

Yelp
Joe the owner is an awesome guy! Super generous! But I love all the live music and open mics they have every week.
google avatar

Erika K. A.

Yelp
Ive been wanting to come here for a long time and the only thing I regret is not coming any sooner . Such a cute shop the details inside ate out are perfect. The customer service was amazing. The gentleman helped me and we laughed a bit .they have music in the evenings which I am also planning to attend soon.
google avatar

Kellee C.

Yelp
My daughter and I stopped in yesterday because she had raved about the banana bread latte. We decided to have pastries too. We each had the banana bread latte and shared 2 pastries. At the first sip, let me tell you I was amazed lol. I bake banana bread often and I'm not sure how they make it taste EXACTLY like it. I didn't catch the gentleman's name who helped us but I'm pretty sure we're friends now lol. Service was amazing and everything we had was delicious! We will definitely be back to check out other menu items.
google avatar

Interceptor F.

Yelp
I didn't feel welcomed at the Night Owl or respected. I was disappointed when I saw a sign that read you need to buy something every 2 hours. I bought a $6.00 cake which wasn't worth the price. I felt that I was paying rent to the Night Owl to justify my studying and I didn't even enjoy being there. What was also disappointing there was no thank you for buying the cake or when I left. I felt as a person who is an accountant that the Night Owl cares more about money then me as a customer. I won't be back!
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
A local gem!!! we always pass by this place on our afternoon walks and it's so cool to see their open mic nights and jazz nights! love having a spot that's open pretty late for coffee and a treat, they also offer beer here! the service is always so nice we stopped by this morning and had such a pleasant interaction w the cashier he was so friendly and quick! Also a cool little spot to study during the day :) THE BANANA BREAD LATTE WAS SOOO GOOD, honestly might be my favorite coffee in the area and trust me I've tried everywhere by here! lol Spanish latte was also good but on the sweet side.
google avatar

Maria Theresa L.

Yelp
i want on an open mic night and had a spanish coffee with a piece of cake. The atmosphere was great and the coffee was superb

Ariana O.

Yelp
This cookie was so good!! This is a cool little spot. They serve coffee, pastries and I ordered a beer!! Love the concept. The girl who helped us was super sweet and there was live music. Chill Thursday vibes.

Claudia F.

Yelp
The only thing good here is the band on Friday nights- the baked good look old and dry - the coffee and tea selection is poor - I don't know about the alcohol But ?the employees seem please but nothing good to order
google avatar

Yelp
Both of my kids have been obsessed with owls lately, so decided to check out this place. It has more of an adult vibe, given it serves beer & wine, and has live jazz music at night, but my kids seemed to like it. Drinks I tried have been good so far. Elvis Latte was excellent. Kind of hard to go wrong with a drink that has peanut butter, banana, and honey. Wish they would also add some bacon fat to put it over the top. Chai Chai was excellent as well. It's chai tea with white chocolate and cinnamon. It had a smooth, rich flavor. Really love the laid back vibe, and good service. Only reason I didn't give five stars is because the price is kind of high, even for current times. Most of the specialty drinks seemed to be about $6.50 to $7.00. Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing price on the menu. I had to look at my receipt after my purchase to find out the price.
google avatar

Strack L.

Yelp
What a special place we stumbled upon on our first adventure in Fullerton. The service was amazing and the coffee, cappuccino & pumpkin coffee cake (made by Homeboy Bakery was delish)! The owner and son were simply a delight to speak with and gave us great lunch recommendations. If you are in the area, be sure to stop here, you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Ebony R.

Yelp
I am obsessed with this place. Not only do they have non-dairy options for their drinks and vegan options for their pastries, they also have an amazing vibe here. The staff is always friendly when we came by. We ended up coming on a Saturday and found out they had an artist that was performing outside in the back. There is plenty of seating inside, out front, and out back. I ordered the Chai Chai with oat milk the first time I visited. Twas delicious. The second time I wanted to try something new so I ordered the Banana Bread Latte with oat. Twas equally delicious, literally tasted like banana bread. Love this spot, a chill place to come and just read, take a moment to yourself, or meet up with friends.
google avatar

Linda R.

Yelp
This place has a very cool vibe and is locally owned which is nice. There is also plenty of parking close by. Unfortunately, the quality of their food and beverage are variable and their prices are outrageous. Last night I paid $5.99 for a medium iced tea. It was tasty but not six bucks worth of tasty. Worst still they have live music of dubious quality at night. They do serve beer if that's important to you. Me, I'm never going back there.

C.J. G.

Yelp
Can't say anything about the service or drinks because I'm looking for a place at 10:30, and came across "the night owl", but this night owl closed at 10
google avatar

Yelp
Thursday night Jazz was a HIT!! Park at the nearby structure, and let the live music drifting through the night lead you to the cozy spot. I appreciated the outdoor setup, fresh air and easy to spot/hear the scheduled bands playing outside The Night Owl. There are tables and chairs for the crowds trickling in and out, allowing people to transition from standing to sitting closeup. In the center there's a fire to warm you up, if you're lucky get a seat up close. It's nice to see people of all ages come by to listen to live jazz, whether alone, paired up, or in a group it was a good time all around! Behind the sectioned area, there were even locals who brought their own lawn chairs to sit afar and enjoy. Check their Instagram for live updates, when I went Jazz Night went on from 7:30 - 10:00 pm. The cafe itself is small and intimate, with lots of owl decorations and art in each nook. My friend and I tried the Banana Bread latte (decaf), it was piping hot & comforting throughout the night. Although we did find it tasting syrupy towards the end as most of it had settled on the bottom. As my first time, I had no expectations, and it ended up being a really relaxing night filled with good music under a calm winter night. I recommend having dinner in the area and walking over after to grab a hot beverage or pastry while you listen to the music.

Yelp
First timer to The night Owl. The barista was very friendly , and made the experience wonderful . He customized a drink out of a latte that I wanted iced and it was his first time making this drink. It was very delicious. The ambiance of this place is very calm and peaceful in the morning.

Yelp
Waited 15 just to be ignored. Dude doesn't look like he cares about his job. Don't waste your time here.

Yelp
LOVE that they host open mic nights. i appreciate that this cafe consistently have music open mics and fun activities for the community to get together and share their art. their instagram @thenightowlfullerton is updated daily about their events, so definitely check it out. i parked outside on the street for free, i attached a photo of the parking signs. inside, the cafe was cozy, and the baristas were so welcoming and nice. brandon helped me out with my order and was super friendly! i got an iced lavender london fog (about $7) with soy milk. i liked the lavender flavor, and it wasn't too sweet. it tasted a tad too watery for me, but i imagine it would be better hot! there were quite a few people inside and outside studying. there is a bathroom for customers, just ask for the number code. overall, love this place mainly because it's a small business that hosts music and poetry open mics. i support them because of this!
google avatar

Vivian W.

Yelp
My mom and I quite enjoyed their iced banana bread latte. It was somewhat sweet but still good. The service/helpfulness was alright.

Yelp
Such a cute little spot in DT Fullerton! Joe, the owner, was super friendly & fun to chat with. Super cool they support Homeboy Industries by selling their pastries! Love how it's dog friendly, had my pet with me & could still go in & enjoy some coffee and get work done. I'll definitely be back, maybe for one of their nightly music events!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in to Night Owl for a mid day pick me up and opted for the caramel apple chai. While the drink was delicious, it did not taste of chai at all and tasted more like a glorified apple juice. For almost $9 for the smaller size, I wouldn't recommend that drink at all for the price. Service, however, was very friendly and interior is cozy. Would I go there again though, probably not.
google avatar

Brian F.

Yelp
We come to Night Owl for the tasty unique coffee concoctions and the great live music on the patio. The drinks can be a bit pricey, but are a delicious treat. The staff and atmosphere are fantastic.

Man On The Bu N.

Yelp
I was pretty upset at 2 things when I came here: first, no prices were posted, which I thought was a violation or California law, including the 2024 "Honest Pricing Law." Second, I got two drinks, a small and large chai drink (a special chai drink they offered, so expecting it to cost a bit more, but no additional upgrades). The final price was $16.03, meaning that my large 12 oz. coffee cost at least $9. That is the most I've ever paid for a coffee and wouldn't have ordered it.

Yelp
Friendly staffs. Cute interior decors with all the owls. Good coffee... and they also sell alcoholic beverages. Cute coffee shop in Downtown Fullerton.

Miss F.

Yelp
Banana Bread Iced Latte is fantastic! Barista was very helpful and pleasant. Will be making this my go to coffee shop in town from now on when I want a pastry and a tasty drink.
