The 12 Best New Restaurants in Seoul, South Korea | Eater

"Korea’s oldest French restaurant inside the Westin Chosun Hotel has been ahead of its time since it opened its doors in 1924. This is where Caesar salads, eggs Benedicts, and other Western delicacies were first introduced to Koreans. After a dramatic makeover in 2017, the Ninth Gate Grille continues its trendsetting legacy, now as a contemporary wine bar with a slate of modern, globally inspired dishes and a cheese and charcuterie selection curated by Soyoung Scanlan of California’s Andante Dairy. A range of wines offered by the glass caters to Seoul’s fast-growing crowd of casual oenophiles." - Matty Kim

Proper place & service, central location. Despite their steak restaurant identity, they have also good fish choice on the menu. For lunch, 2 courses, 3 courses and 4 courses options are available. But size of the lunch menu portions need to be improved. Overall, I recommend.

Wonderful fine dining. All plate serve with beautiful presentation. But the price quite high that mean I expect more wow factor of taste.. The ninth gate view is unique. Don't forget to call for reservation

Lovely location with a scenic view. However, the food was average at best. We went for a light lunch but the food was nothing impressive and the pistachio dessert didn't seem fresh. For the price, I was expecting quality but didnt receive it. I wouldn't go again.

One foot those perfect places with much history, grand view of 환구단. 만원 cover charge with drink & bite after 8pm. Jamon Iberico can be more, but when seldom comes, wished to come. Scotch promotion.

Cafe/restaurant on the first floor of Chosun Hotel. The weekend lunch offering is amazing value—3 “appetizers” (choices of soup, salads, pasta, various appetizers, desserts) and one main for 65,000 won. Tried a variety of dishes, and everything is cooked and flavored well. The only disappointments were desserts, which were clunky and dull. I’ve had better at chain cafes. But overall, lovely ambiance and meal service.

The food is consistent and good but it’s too predictable. No mouthwatering surprises here. Come for consistency above all.

My favorite place for western food in Seoul. Asked my wife to marry me in coronation garden behind hotel after dinner here one night.
