The Most Fun Seattle Bars

"The Nook is an impressive cocktail spot that’s disguised as a low-key neighborhood bar. Complete with a mismatched assortment of vintage living room sofas, a fireplace, and extremely friendly bartenders, you’ll find drinks like champagne spritzes, white negronis, and mules topped with torched marshmallows and rosemary. This place feels like what would happen if you stumbled upon an abandoned cabin in the forest, but instead of finding things like pinecones and a grizzly bear or two, there’s a master mixologist inside making anything you want." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

Seattle’s Coziest Bars - Seattle - The Infatuation

"A smoked Moscow mule topped with pine leaves and a torched marshmallow is enough to get The Nook on this list. But besides that delicious drink, the bar's interior feels like a backyard shed that was recently renovated on HGTV. It’s a two-story spot covered in wood and cushioned benches, and the second floor is an attic-like situation with a fireplace and mismatched armchairs and loveseats. Sip your creme de violette cocktail on a sofa that feels like it belongs in the 1930s." - Aimee Rizzo

Where To Break Up With Someone, If You Really Can’t Do It At Your Apartment - Seattle - The Infatuation

"If you can’t break up with someone at your apartment, you could at least do it somewhere that looks and feels homey. The Nook is a cozy West Seattle bar complete with sofas, a fireplace, and fantastic cocktails ranging from a rye drink with creme de violette and egg white to a smokey mule topped with rosemary and torched marshmallows. If you’re too ashamed to say “this relationship is toast,” say it with a burnt garnish." - Aimee Rizzo

Google
THE most refreshing/sophisticated/heart-warming/sexy/delicious drinks in WS. This is a gem, and a well-kept secret. The bartenders are super knowledgeable, autistic and friendly. The space is classy with a sort of speak-easyvibe. Only need to change some of the couches/chairs, which are really vintage. Great look but you can literally feel the springs. They recently started having food vendors outside for those who enjoy a bite with their drinks. I do. Overall, great neighborhood spot!

Google
Chill and cozy atmosphere, good drinks, menu options, and super kind staff! The doggy wall is super cute too!!

Google
Cozy little cocktail spot with great menu and delicious cocktail. We ended up going here on a rainy evening so it wasn’t crowded. A lot of different options to choose from, and the cocktails were great

Stopped in late one night for a drink after getting dinner across the street, and had such a good time!! It’s pretty small & cozy inside, but they do have an upstairs loft area where you can sit as well. There was a pretty big menu with many cocktail options and plenty of unique flavor combinations I’ve never see before! I love the creativity behind their drinks and how the staff get to create their own and have their names listed on the menu. Makes it such a fun experience and more interactive seeing what people come up with!! If you’re into craft cocktails this is definitely one place you want to check out. It’s very dog friendly, you can bring your dog inside which is always a plus!

Google
I just had my mind blown by the creativity, quality, and overall attention to detail. Cassandra and Cara are WIZARDS of cocktail creations. This is, by FAR, the BEST cocktail bar I've ever solicited. The amount of unique, delicious cocktails on the menu speaks for itself. Why have you not visited? You need to go.

Google
A super fun and dog friendly bar! Fun and creative cocktails with some wildly delicious specials. Got a goat cheese washed gin raspberry lemon honey drink that was a one of a kind treat that I wish they always had. Bartender was so friendly and nice and super welcoming to our pup. Love the space and that they allow dogs inside. Definitely coming back!

Google
Delicious cocktails and a variety of interesting options to pick from whether you prefer sweet or spicy. The bartenders are friendly. The atmosphere depends on when you visit, we've been when there are lots of groups gathered with their dogs (happy hour timing) and other times where it has more of a cozy date spot, romantic vibe (evening).

Google
Cute and inventive cocktail bar in North Admiral. My partner and I met up with two friends for cocktails at The NOOK. The drink menu features inventive cocktails categorized by flavor profile and a fair number of mocktail offerings. We arrived at the bar on a Friday around 8:30pm and found seating for four fairly easily. We stayed until about 11:30pm and the bar had mostly emptied out. A nice place for meeting up with friends or a cozy date.

Yelp
After being in Seattle for over 4 years, I had periods of time where I felt I ran out of bars to go to since I go to different bars often. However, I discovered this place recently from an online list with high regards, so we decided to check it out on a Saturday night. As expected, it was fairly busy, but there were plenty of seating. If you want more "prime" spots like the couches upstairs or the window-facing side-by-side table, expect to wait a bit while enjoying your drink in another table. This place is more like a typical bar, where you order at the counter, open/close the tab as needed, and they prepare your drink in front of you and you wait for the drinks to be ready. It is kind of self-serve otherwise, but some employees will sporadically clean up tables of previous customers. We tried the Poseidon's Punch, Banana Bread Old Fashioned, Red Sky in Mexico, and Phuket! Let's Drink. Poseidon's Punch tastes some Greek yogurt and spirulina, perfect for those that want a more "healthy" drink. The banana bread old fashioned is quite strong and smoky, and it evokes a little hint of banana flavor but not too much. Red sky in Mexico is a smoked mezcal drink with pretty good presentation. You pour the drink to the empty cup they provide you. Phuket! Let's Drink is a spicy drink. I was shocked how spicy it is, to the point I freaked out if I could finish a good fraction of it. It is probably the spiciest drink I have ever tried and this is coming from a person that visited hundreds of bars around the world. Fortunately, we told the bartender about this and they graciously topped the drink off with pineapple juice complimentary, twice, making it still a delicious drink with a twist of tropical. Overall, I enjoy this bar and prices are quite fair for the quality of the drinks

Yelp
Lovely venue - very coffee house shop vibe. The mix-match of seating/furniture/tables generally works well, the only downside is that there's only one or two tables for more than 3 people which can make it a bit tougher to find seating. The menu looked fantastic and I ended up with the red sky in mexico which was a hickory-smoked mezcal drink which was fantastic. It was so good, I got it again. It was bold, boozy but smooth, and rich. The smoke was additive and flavorful. I also tried the Brittain's Cartel which rather uniquely contained nicotine from the cigar. This was also quite good but not as good as the Red Sky in Mexico. It had a bit of a sharpness to it that lingered but I would've still recommended it. They had someone unrelated to Nook outside selling chicken sandwiches which were unbelievably good - giant and amazing heat flavor

Yelp
Great craft cocktail haunt. It's a small, cozy, intimate space with a little upstairs seating. Almost a speakeasy vibe, but no secret handshake, password, or hidden entrance. They have a wide variety of tempting drinks on the menu, and the 'tenders are pleasant and know how to mix the elixirs. They keep up well with orders even when the room is full. It's small, so it can fill up fast!

Mickey O.

Yelp
Still the best bar in West Seattle. Cocktails are perfect, with a cozy vibe, and dog friendly. Service is terrific.
google avatar

Savannah R.

Yelp
My seasonal cocktail was very good. The prices are moderate for a cocktail lounge. It's small with an upstairs loft and very cutely decorated. Parking kinda sucks but that is W Seattle for ya. I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Nayia R.

Yelp
Love this place. The service is top notch and I enjoy that they make a lot of their liqueur in house. It's such a cute vibe here and feels so homey. As always I enjoyed myself here, brought a friend, it was her first time and she loved.

Chrystal C.

Yelp
Great drinks! Loved the service and ambiance. Not many did options so don't go there hungry.

Yelp
This review is super bias but I love this place and the people that work here. There's always new drinks on the special board and honestly it's just a nice place to go decompress. It can get really busy and really loud but the staff does their best to crank out the drinks. I've tried a few of the drinks here and there is really something for everyone. Anywho, definitely pay them a visit with your friends or by yourself whatever floats your boat.

Liz M.

Yelp
Service was awesome, and the specialty cocktails were delish. The lighting was nice a dark upstairs which gave us a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Yelp
This place is adorable. It's a local place. It's a cool place. It's a trendy place. You need Decor on the inside which is most of what Seattle is all about. 35 very unique drinks that you can only get here not created anywhere else. This is definitely worth the Stop and worth taking the time to see. Eclectic on the inside with plenty of seating and Fabulous drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
This super cute and quaint bar is nestled perfectly right off the street! The the ambience really sets the mood and allows you to decompress after a long day of work. Drinks are phenomenal and they're definitely handcrafted to perfection. When you're looking at their menu, you'll quickly realize they take the time to hand pick and house infuse their drinks. Happy I came!

Yelp
Adorable little cozy neighborhood bar. Fun funky interior. Unique and tasty drinks. We tried a bunch of different drinks and each one was different. Service was great and drinks came quickly. Definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
Love the decor and drinks here. The staff was super friendly and gave us some great recommendations for drinks from their menu. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and made sure to get 2 or 3 different ones to try them all. They are primarily a cocktail bar so they don't have any draft beers and a limited bottle selection. They have a fun selection of craft cocktails though so you can probably find something for everyone. I grabbed an NA cocktail - the Diamondhead at Dawn. It was delicious and unique. Unfortunately all of their NA options are the same price as any other cocktail, still a fun little neighborhood cocktail bar though.

Yelp
Best drinks around! I've been several times, and though it may not be for everyone (if price is a concern), the drinks can not be beat. Great for date night, a quiet nightcap, or visiting. Highly recommend coming once just to taste what well crafted cocktails are like.
google avatar

Julian G.

Yelp
I feel if you've been to the Hazelwood in Ballard you should be familiar with the vibe here. However, I would argue that the drinks there are much more inspired. This is a sleeper which is up there with some of the best (and inspired) cocktails our city has to offer.
google avatar

Ben M.

Yelp
Great cocktail called Poseidon's Punch made by the bartender Oral! Great service and great music/vibes in the bar. Definitely somewhere to come if you want greatly crafted cocktails.
google avatar

Geoff F.

Yelp
Probably the most interesting drinks on the island. Small seating areas on two floors and as with everywhere in West Seattle the parking sucks... but it's worth waiting a bit for a table. Try for the upstairs, just know that you'll need to walk downstairs to order your drinks or you'll wait a long time as they are usually quite busy.

Ehulises R.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance and aesthetic of this place. The drinks had a good amount of liquor but could barely taste it, that is how carefully crafted they are. I would say the audience is a bit more on the older side.
google avatar

Keith F.

Yelp
Cute place, nice staff, prices about average. Was instructed upon entering that we could seat ourselves but we'd have to come to the bar to order. Okay, coulda been a little nicer about it but whatever. It was hard to get to the bar because there was a bar height table right in front of it. Upstairs looked cute but it was already full so we sat downstairs. I'd probably go again if someone suggested it.

Yelp
I have been wanting to go to The Nook for months. I check thier insta account to see their weekly specials and they look amazing. Stopped by on a Friday night post midnight (yes this place is open until 2 am) and there were barely 5-7 folks seated. We got comfortable on the 2nd floor in their cozy couch and ordered their specials - banana bread old fashioned, brittains cartel, phuket! Lets drink, negroni azul and nook hot toddy. All the drinks were amazing!! It was fun to watch the bartender make some fancy drinks there. All in all we had an amazing time at The Nook. Highly recommend these folks. I will be a regular for sure.

Yelp
This is my first time trying this neighborhood quaint cocktail bar. I will preface I haven't written a Yelp review since 2012 and I felt implored to write one solely for this experience. I am so picky about cocktails and went out with five friends. I tried all five of our cocktails and LIKED THEM ALL If you're looking for an Insta worthy, oooooh kinda experiential cocktail, go for the Red Sky. It comes with a bottle with the rosemary smoke inside and you pour it in with the smoke smoothly layering over the beautiful glass. We also loved the Cats Pajamas which is a lovely balance of lavender and rosemary. Another favorite was the banana bread old fashioned that straight up tasted like banana bread! Can't wait to try so many more! My boyfriend says, "I like this place. I feel like a 30 year old, I'm not at the club, we're sitting where we're supposed to be sitting, we're supposed to be here."
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
At 11:45 on a Friday night, 2+ hours before closing, a Nook maintenance crew turned up the lights and using power tools started repairing bar stools a few feet away from a dozen paying customers. In over 30 years of frequenting bars and restaurants I've never witnessed something so bizarre, or so fully thoughtless and rude. In West Seattle there are many fine options for a cocktail lounge. Choose one where you the customer are offered warm hospitality. Choose an atmosphere where your comfort and enjoyment are considered. Where you the customer are the priority, not routine and non-essential furniture maintenance on a Friday night. Our time at The Nook was resoundingly bogus. Skip this lame place. You can do better.
google avatar

Yelp
First time here, and it totally met my expectations. Wanted someplace chill and not hectic to go for a couple glasses of wine and journal time. (Thursday night happy hour, fyi.) Bartendress (I'm going to make this word happen) was great, but I like an unintrusive staff. If you want fawning, go elsewhere. This is a small local living room.
google avatar

Marina A.

Yelp
Came in for a couple drinks on a Tuesday night. The place was cute and I loved the ambiance but I think one thing they can do to improve would be to give the place a good wipe down. There was a lot of dust and dirt that you can tell has been like that for a while. Didn't bother me too much but a good clean would really elevate the place. The drinks we had were creative and tasty. Some were a bit on the sweeter side but overall not bad. The bartender was nice and friendly!

Franchesca C.

Yelp
This is a wonderful great little place. I have been back a half dozen times since my first visit. The drinks are great and the staff are friendly and accommodating.
google avatar

Haley B.

Yelp
Homey and inviting bar that instantly brings your attention in. The drinks were out of this world and truly a work of art. I enjoyed watching the drinks being made, you can tell the bartender cared about what they did. Dogs are even allowed, how fun!
google avatar

Dianna N.

Yelp
Chill place to get drinks with cozy seats upstairs. It did start to feel small as it got more crowded, so I'd just want to come back earlier in the (Saturday) night or try it out on a weeknight. I thought it was cute that there were little icons on the menu to show what glass the drink was served in. Jax's Daq $11: This was my drink of choice because I wanted something that looked fruity. It was on the more tart side, and had an aftertaste that I can't pinpoint but I was good with it. Aviation $12: I just tried a sip, but it was good and refreshing. Italy Meets Mexico $12: I just tried a sip, but I liked it more than I thought I would since it looked like it'd taste too strong just based on appearance. Red Sky in Mexico $15: They do add smoke to it on order! Just tried a sip, but I didn't like this one at all. However, it is the opposite of sweet, fruity drinks which more suit my palette. ***** My Star Ratings: 1 Star - Terrible. Just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars - Meh. Unlikely for me to return. 3 Stars - OK. Open to coming back, but wouldn't go out of my way to. 4 Stars - Yummy! Will definitely return if I haven't already. 5 Stars - AMAZING!!! Would plan my day or even a trip around eating here.
google avatar

Winnie L.

Yelp
Super cute place and super yummy drinks. I came here on a Saturday afternoon. It was not busy that I got good attention from the bartender. I will be back.

Daniel R.

Yelp
This place is one of West Seattle's gems! The ambiance is perfect for just about any occasion, from hanging out with friends having one more than you probably should, to first date night, to second date night, to THIRD date night (and beyond!), to birthdays, to ladies night shenanigans, I tell you what, it's perfect for almost any occasion except maybe sports watching night. Even then you might get lucky and catch the game you want at the rail on their one TV... just ask! The decor and vibe and music are super chill, big front windows on both levels for daytime, nice and low-lit for nighttime, with a great sidewalk front porch. Sometimes it's 90s grunge rock night, sometimes it's modern chill house, but no matter what, it's always fun to listen to. The cocktails, lovingly curated by the owner Cassandra and her new co-owner Cara, are superb. Cassandra and Cara and their bartenders definitely know their drinks and the vibe is always excellent no matter who's shaking the shaker. Weekends bring pop-up sidewalk grub creators, and they also have a small menu of definitely tasty in-house snacks. Cassandra's chicken salad and crackers is a homemade treat and plenty of protein and just enough carbs to make one more drink a definite probability! The Nook should find a nook in your list of awesome places... make it a first stop and then a regular stop, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Great cocktails, cool interior, nice little patio out front. A favorite West Seattle bar.

Yelp
They have this drink called Hollaback Girl. It's amazing. I tried to recreate it at home. I failed. I have to come back here for more.

Jacob O.

Yelp
Cool spot with fun and creative cocktails. Went in right as they opened and had no issues with service and the bartender was extremely friendly.

Sage O.

Yelp
I may be biased but how could anyone leave less than a 5 star review of this place!! I've been going here for over two years and always had a delightful experience no matter who was serving! They are very dog friendly and I love that who coldnt love dogs and cocktails?!? It's amazing! The drinks are fairly priced for a Seattle endeavors! Also as a side note I left my bag there and came back fairly close to when I left it, my bag was already in the back on a hook. While I go here pretty infrequently I think I may come more often, they have a great ability of recognizing returning patrons and I have a soft spot for that. Mind you the last time I came in was close to a year and they still remembered me by NAME!!! I love this place and will never stop supporting. While they may be busy sometimes and not tailor to that, that's a part of owning a business! I love them and recommend this place to any of my friends visiting :) I wish I could say we were all close but we're not, this place is amazing! I love cats pajamas, a friend I met there preferred a specialty, Poseidon punch! It has a very cozy ambience, if you want a secluded vibe I prefer weekdays! During thurs-Saturday can get busy w tourists! Has always and will always be my go to for handcrafted drinks w a meaning behind them! I'd also like to say I've been coming to this bar since 2019 and it's been amazing!! The bar staff and music has good diversity and has been one of the main reasons I like to go on diff days!!
google avatar

Tasha L.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! The bartenders were sweet and seasoned, gave excellent recommendations! Such a great vibe in there, with comfortable outdoor, downstairs and upstairs seating! Will definitely come back ASAP for a cute date night

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
Hubs took me out to one of our favorite little "nook" in west Seattle for a wonderful concoction! Yummy and would have posted another cocktail pic but yelp wouldn't allow! It cozy, quaint, warm and friendly! Bonus you can bring your fur babies inside but they do have an outside heater to bring your spirits and pups and heckle the lovely locals! Cool vibe!
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Amazing cocktails! I love the cats pajamas personally :) Alana and Nova (her dog) are amazing and great conversation (well mainly Alana)

Shana R.

Yelp
I've been here twice within the last 6 months and the drinks are incredible. My only discomfort is the cleanliness of the space, especially the upstairs bathroom. Both times it's been very dusty/dirty and I can tell nothing has been dusted or cleaned in a while. Otherwise it's a cozy space with thoughtfully crafted cocktails.
google avatar

Anahi H.

Yelp
Loved the vibe of this place, small cute cozy establishment which makes a great spot for a first date. 10/10 recommend getting the Life Is Peachy.
google avatar

Samuel B.

Yelp
This bar could benefit from following a cleaning checklist. I was less than impressed with how filthy it was. There was food and debris all over the ground and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. For drinks in the immediate area, I prefer Otter on the Rocks.

Carolyn C.

Yelp
Went to The Nook for the first time last night around 10:30 pm. It was such a good vibe! From the music to Kara the bartender, lighting was on point, clean, not super busy - loved it! The drinks were good and unique! I'll definitely be back. I prefer West Seattle to downtown Seattle these days anyway!
google avatar

Lily M.

Yelp
Charming, stylish, cozy little bar in West Seattle! Went here with a friend on Thursday night to grab a couple drinks. We started with an Old Fashioned for him, Life is Peachy for me. Next we went for a more seasonal pick - Christmas Stocking for him and Cousin Eddie for me. The bartender was cheerful and friendly, letting us know the Cousin Eddie (spiced rum, egg nog, nutmeg, orange zest) was the owner's newest creation and we were the first to order it. No regrets. Great selection of drinks and just the right amount of alcohol in each. The decor, lighting, etc all makes you feel like you're visiting someone's house. Awesome ambiance, really chill vibes here. Definitely will be back to enjoy some coffee and read a book or try more cocktails!
google avatar

Sara R.

Yelp
I first came to this bar 2-3 years ago and was not a fan--the drinks were not good and the vibe was very former frat boy trying to relive their youth. However, walking by a year or so ago, I stopped in for a drink and discovered they changed ownership, and the drinks were now spectacular. The bar looks like a mad scientist's lab with booze brewing with different herbs and infusions, but it's not all for show, the drinks are truly unique and delicious. The vibe is a lot more chill than it used to be which I like, but sometimes I wish there were a few more people there because I want to make sure they are around for a long time!
google avatar

Hannah C.

Yelp
Cool place and decent drinks so long as you're okay with your bartender watching tv and petting their dog while it's sitting on the booth shedding everywhere, and then making your drinks without washing their hands. Dog hair was left all over the booth when the dog got up.
google avatar

Joshua N.

Yelp
Enjoyed some amazing cocktails this evening inside The Nook. Drinks are over the top delicious. Decor and overall feeling of the place is inviting and warm. Highly recommend as this place the best beverages in Admiral.
google avatar

Bradley C.

Yelp
It's was a cute cozy feeling when walking in. Definitely a local place. Drinks are very expensive and just ok. My biggest feedback would be cleanliness and allowing dogs into the bar. I'm usually ok with this but at one point there where 3 dogs in a very small space, with the bartenders playing, petting and serving water to the dog then going back and making drinks without washing their hands. At that point it just turned me off. :-(

Diane L.

Yelp
Went for a holiday drink last night with an old friend. We both had to get out immediately after our first cocktail. The female bartender was abrasive & the choice of music was NOT conducive to enjoying the cozy ambiance. More like you'd expect in a head banger bar. A huge dog was sprawled on the cushioned bench & took up the best seats. We both were not impressed to see the bartender allowed this where people usually sit! Sad to say we won't go back. Bar needs a good cleaning. Used to like it there, but will give our business to another local spot. Went to the Matador afterwards & as usual, it was great in every way.

Yelp
Great place to get a fancy yummy cocktail. The bar tender is an artist who crafts concoction that are out of this world! Aviator was delicious and purple:) They have breakfast now! And yummy coffee drinks

Rebecca D.

Yelp
Everything is wonderful at the nook. The drinks, the vibe, and service are all top notch.
