The Norman Tel Aviv | Condé Nast Traveler

"The 50 individually designed rooms at this boutique hotel in two historic townhouses within the White City (a Tel Aviv neighborhood known for its collection of Bauhaus buildings as well as art galleries and designer boutiques) have a fragrant citrus garden between them. There’s a rooftop infinity pool, a 1940s-style Library Bar, a formal French-Mediterranean brasserie, and an excellent Izakaya-style Japanese restaurant."

I rarely write reviews, but I’m compelled to share our thoughts on the Norman with potential guests debating a stay. The unequivocal answer is YES. ||I’ll begin by saying that we’ve stayed at the Kempinski on our last few trips (and even for a few nights on this trip). The Kempinski is nice and new— and on the beach— which has always been important to us. However, after staying at the Norman in a Loft room this past week, it’s undoubtedly our new go to. The beach isn’t so far after all, and we didn’t want to eat the food in the Kempinski’s Horizon lounge anyway!||The vibe, service, food, location and rooftop pool at the Norman especially stood out for us. This isn’t a large, convention hotel catering to the masses. The Norman is a wonderful boutique with personalized service, intentional follow-up and delicious food (both Alena and Dinings). It felt like our own oasis in the middle of a local Tel Aviv neighborhood— with the meals we’d search for even if we weren’t hotel guests. ||We loved the small balcony off our room to sip wine or coffee and watch the city moving. From before we arrived until we departed, we were also impressed with the Norman’s digital communication space (I would say messages were monitored in close to real time). ||In full transparency there were two minor things we mentioned to the front desk on departure- 1) the room was extremely dark, even with the dimmer on full power, 2) room felt humid and had a faint mildew odor despite the dry climate. ||Thank you again for a terrific stay. We can’t wait to return to Tel Aviv just to stay at the Norman!!

Before our arrival we had some doubts regarding the value of The Norman since it’d be challenging to justify the stiff price. However, after our stay, we totally understand it. Everything, from the attentiveness of all the personnel tending to us during our check in, through the impeccable room experience, pool, Alena, The Library and the spa treatments, was absolutely amazing. Thanks for making our stay a one to remember.

Quite simply the best hotel in Tel Aviv. The service from the moment you arrive is impeccable. All the staff are just so helpful and friendly. The beds are enormous and so comfortable. You honestly can’t beat breakfast on the terrace. Special mention to Harry on concierge, he always managed to get us the restaurant bookings we wanted even when the restaurants looked fully booked. If I had to say one small thing is be quick if you want beds at the pool. It’s beautiful and so relaxing but gets full very quickly. One of my favourite hotels anywhere in the world. Love it !! See you soon guys

I stayed at the Norman on a business trip and loved my experience. To start, the lobby smells amazing and is really one of the most beautiful hotel lobbies I've seen. The room was lovely, and service was great. ||Breakfast was held at the hotel restaurant and was included in the room rate. The food was super fresh and delish. ||I'd love to come back to enjoy the pool and spa.

Always talking honestly is the key to win peoples not just heart, but attention as well, cause without honesty and sharing experience, we will never be able to write truthy about how lifestyle to the world about what we acutely deal with, and others reaction.||Sometimes the hottest day of the week is not Friday or Saturday, but for some reason its Thursday, and nothing more important to feel good and look good, and take your self out to a great dinner, to enjoy not just the food, but the vibe that you always belong to.||Extremely hungry for the food and experience comes with it form such a restaurant at the Norman hotel.||Walking through the lobby, welcomed by the hostess, and been seated to start ordering food, drinks, so on.||Few things bothered me, this whole dinning in hotel specially its a good restaurant, comes with the experience while you wait for waiter, ordering food, bringing the food and checking out.||I didn't get some water as the other tables got, not sure if its selected thing, after ordering appetizer, still no coming back if I needed something.||Appetizer came, was good, ordered main, and was steak I guess was the special cut. This is when it get a bit interesting.||The steak took forever to arrive, don't know why, even I was checking other tables, they got they mains, and some tables who arrive after me, they got their main before I did, and I was before them.||Not enough the main came after a very long time, as I told them I'm very very hungry, the steak came really cold, and for a steak to come cold is a very big no no, specially from a hotel such a name and a restaurant belong to the find dinning.||When I start eating as I'm really hungry, the waiter came and told him its cold, and by the time the manager came, it was even colder, and even for them to offer to get it back, it will be frozen and I'm extremely hungry.||I was managed by Noa as she was the restaurant manager, I told her what happen as I don't think my night is getting any better.||As I think she felt bad for me and offer me coffee. But I was really hungry for not just great food as I expected and wanted, that's why I came to the Norman, but everything was really bad, I think the table who came after me and got their burger before me, enjoy it more, than my expensive table order that I had, as much as its funny but its true.||I ordered desert as I think its always the best to eat when you hungry, and it was really good as I have to give it the credit. The cheesecake I ordered was better than the steak and the appetizer and the bad experience put all together.||Noa was trying to make my night from mislabel to something as ok, she was really sweet and I very like her as she was trying, but deep inside, you say, this is Norma hotel and the restaurant and hotel should know better, and this should be a no to happen.||Sharing such experiences with my 55000 readers and still growing, is something I love explaining that, sometimes, big names do not mean to be wow amazing, even I speak highly about this hotel to all my friends, as small places could be way better and enjoyable, than expensive orders as mind, and I didn't feel anything, as I walked out, and I said, I ordered, I didn't enjoy, I paid, I tipped as well, and walked away as something was missing, instead of say, this is it for the night, perfect ending and time to go sleep, but was more for like go and buy something better to eat.

I spent the weekend at this beautiful hotel in the heart of Tel Aviv, and honestly, it really lives up to its hype. The vibe is super elegant but still feels cozy, and everything from the room to the spa was just spot-on. ||What really made it special, though, was the service. Everyone was so genuinely kind and attentive, definitely left a taste for more and cannot wait to come back!!

This place was very accommodating. Food at the restaurant was great. Hotel is close and walk distance from everything, Carmel Market, Rothschild, and to another famous street full of restaurants that end it at the Carmel market, right now I can’t remember the name. The staff were always very helped and friendly. The only downside is that they are not a stroller/wheelchair friendly hotel, probably because the building is old, not sure.

Had a fantastic evening at Alena during the week of Purim. Located inside The Norman Hotel, the restaurant offers a refined yet relaxed atmosphere that made for a great dining experience. I went with a friend and tried a variety of dishes, each offering something unique. We had lamb and fish skewers served with fresh, fluffy pitas, crispy chips, and all the dips on the menu. The pita was freshly baked with a great texture, and the lamb was perfectly cooked, especially delicious when paired with vegetables and dips inside the pita. I also had an excellent cocktail (though I can’t remember the name), and the biggest surprise of the night was the dessert: the Bavarian cream cake. The creamy coffee flavor was unexpectedly good, far exceeding my expectations. The staff at Alana was attentive and welcoming, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The hotel staff was also helpful, adding to the overall experience. Overall, it was a fantastic night with delicious food, great service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. For a moment, I didn’t even feel like I was in Tel Aviv.
