"East Austin venue the North Door is now closed permanently on 502 Brushy Street, as announced over its electronic newsletter. Despite the shutter, on-site Mexican restaurant Pueblo Viejo will still remain open, as confirmed by a staffer. The space, which opened in 2008, was known for hosting a variety of live events, from parties to comedy shows to concerts to television and sports watch parties. The newsletter does tease that owners Michelle Patronella and Mark Bradford will reopen something similar to the venue in the feature, with a different name, eventually." - Nadia Chaudhury

We had a pleasant time here the jazz concert we attended was of great level and the main concert hall was ample with good views to the stage from pretty much any seat, the acoustics were good. They had a good selection of beers and cocktails and the ambiance was good, I guess it changes depending on the music act and such but it was food for us that night. My only comment was that the restrooms were located all the way across the place ear the exit which makes it a bit difficult to get to specially if crowded. Also the entry line took quite a while since they only had a couple people at the door but tje staff was very cool nice people.

Really great place to host any kind of event. Has a great setup for the stage and a movie size screen. The second floor overlooks the whole place and has great seating.

Nice place for events with food on site. Small seating makes for close up entertainment.

A nice size venue but I didn't rate it a 5 because the restroom is up a flight of stairs. I'm on a cane and it took me nearly 30 minutes to get up and down the stairs.

What a great venue. I love the fun, eclectic event variety that comes to The North Door. Not a bad seat in the house. Friendly bar staff.

Cool multi-purpose venue. They have concerts, films, special events, and sporting events. Pubelo Vijeo the taco joint is there as well.
