The World Champion Squirrel Cook Off Is an Arkansas Tradition | Eater

"A pizzeria and bar in Springdale staffed by hands-on culinary people, where the kitchen manager routinely runs brunch service and brings a casual, tattooed, blue-collar aesthetic to her role; her experience spans commercial kitchens but she also participates in regional food culture outside the restaurant world, competing at local events and connecting with outdoor-sourced ingredients through collaborations with family." - Jess Brent

The experience was excellent. We ordered at the bar and they brought the best cheese breadsticks I think I've ever had. The pizza was top notch and everyone was very friendly.

Great little bar. Got a nice vibe and really good food. Service could have been a little more helpful. Bartender didnt even seem to know what was on the menu or make recommendations.

The pizza here is probably the best I’ve had. I’m really particular about pizza…the crust is too hard, the sauce is not good, it’s too greasy, etc. At Odd Soul, I had no complaints! The crust was perfectly thin (but not a thin crust, if that makes sense) the sauce was great, we had an all meat pizza and it wasn’t too greasy. I prefer more veggies so I’m excited to go back and try something like the supreme or even get adventurous and try something out of my wheel house like the Odd Soul pizza. Highly recommend the pizza here! I don’t think you’d be disappointed.

We went on Monday night which is trivia night so kinda loud...we didn't know but still a good experience. Lots of beer on tap and the food is great. We did have to go to the bar to order food and drinks. Apparently they don't have waitresses or at least no one showed up at our table.

Google
Terrible service provided by some chick that wasn't even dressed appropriately. This waiter/bartender gave my table an attitude for simply asking about the status of our food after an hour of waiting when many more folks who arrived after us had already received their food. Oh and watch out for the other bartender that tips herself rather than providing your change.

Google
The most “okay” food I’ve had in months. It’s not terrible. But it’s very far from good. It was super greasy and overall pretty tasteless. Even the dough was underwhelming. My biggest complaint is having zero servers. The only ones running the entire floor were the two bartenders. So we had to walk up to the bar to order, go up and ask for refills on our drinks, get our own plates and plastic utensils, and go up to the bar to ask for boxes and checks. I’m not sure if this is because they are understaffed or if this is a normal thing. But it bothered me when both bartenders were just standing around and chatting while we had to do all the work. Especially because they were far from busy (as you can see in my photos.) Tables were also filthy and so was the bathroom. Again, not sure if this is common or just because of understaffed. But I do know that the mixture between the service and the food, we won’t be back. Even if the service was the most incredible we’ve ever had, the food was so bland that it wouldn’t matter.

Had a great time with my wife and her friends! The pizza was delicious and they were generous with their toppings. Service was nice and had a great vibe!

Google
It’s kindof hard to describe The Odd Soul. If you’ve been there you know, but these are generally for people who haven’t…yet. Nostalgic, but modern, fun, and comfortable, high energy, but chill. Fantastic food - seriously, I’m not talking “bar food”, great drinks (a million taps, signature cocktails, sodas, and of course a full bar), but it’s the people, patrons and employees alike, who are the heart and soul of this place. Guests, you’re either a regular or a regular in training. We show up to eat, drink, and be merry, but also rise to the occasion when the community or someone in it has a need. Staff like Ada and Boston who all work SO hard and still have fun, smile, and make you feel like a regular on “Cheers”. And then you have the man Jeffro Brown himself who you can find cooking, cleaning, bartending, fixing, (sometimes in costume) but ALWAYS serving the community. When you go to The Odd Soul, you aren’t just a guest, you’re a part of its beating heart. Don’t miss this place. Cheers 🍻

Yelp
Small quaint beer and pizza place. A friend celebrated her boyfriend's birthday here, really enjoyed it.

Yelp
The food was good and the price was pretty average I think. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had but it was a solid, good go-to pizza. We got the 4 meat and the supreme. My husband and I agree that we liked the supreme the best. We also got the hot honey which added a nice kick. The restaurant had a cool vibe and everything was clean and well maintained. The service however, lacking, substantially. You seat yourself and order at the counter which is fine but it was pretty busy and there were only three bartenders. There was a significant wait every time I tried to talk to a bartender. I probably waited 5 minutes to close my tab while multiple workers walked by and kept doing other work. I'd likely get the pizza again but I'd order it to go to avoid the service.

Yelp
The ambiance is phenomenal and the pizza as as close as you can get to NY Pizza!! The place is small but it's worth waiting for a table.
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
The drinks were good and the pizza was delicious!! It's a very packed, popular place so getting an actual table is like musical chairs... whoever can get to it first. We waited over 45 minutes because we were not aggressive enough to try and beat others.

Lis H.

Yelp
The pizza was SO good, the crust especially was amazing, however the guy at the bar doing orders and drinks was pretty rude. They're starting to outgrow the space and would probably benefit from a host & wait list as the current system was hectic with way more people ordering than tables. Runners couldn't find people because everyone was moving around when more ideal tables opened or they didn't have a table upon ordering. The food was incredible though, and it was a Friday night so I would still recommend!

Amy G.

Yelp
Old fashioned was great, salad was great, pizza was great. We timed it well and were able to get a table.

Josh P.

Yelp
I ordered 2 drinks and a pizza at the bar. After an hour plus of waiting I asked the kitchen guy about my order and discovered it had never been entered. No effort was made by staff to correct the situation and I found out after leaving a bad review on other platform and doing some research that THE OWNER was the person who did not enter my order as all staff ignored my son and I.

Yelp
This is one of the better pizzas in NWA. The crust is thin and crispy but not cracker-like. We tried the supreme and it wasn't buried in ingredients like many places; we could easily taste each topping. If you go here expect minimal service. You go to the bar to order, wait for your drinks, and then return to your seat. If you need silverware you need to go to the bar also. If you need refills on your drink you have to go back to the bar again. When it is time to pay you will not get a ticket, just go to the bar to pay. In other words your effort far out ways that of the staff. Not a single person spoke to me unless I asked for something. My biggest issue with the service was when the pizza was delivered the server never said a word but threw the pizza stand on the table and tossed the pizza on the stand, almost sliding into my lap. If the pizza wasn't so good I would have rated Odd Soul as a 2 star.

Andrew B.

Yelp
Chill spot, kinda busy, good pizza and awesome bar tenders make the experience worth it.
google avatar

Riley B.

Yelp
Definitely getting a 5 star rating from me. This place has a great choice of brewsky's and the pizza is always top tier. In comparison to 3 other similar pizza and beer restaurants in the NWA area this is my #1 choice. The pizza is never undercooked and the crust is always perfect. They get the sauce, cheese and topping ratio just right as well. The service has always been great and I enjoy the vibes. Keep it up guys you're doing it right. Cheers!

Yelp
First day of brunch at Odd Soul, and it won't be our last! We tried almost everything and loved every bite. It wasn't busy like it sometimes gets at night, so the vibe was super relaxed - we even got to see a couple pups, which is always a plus. Highly recommend it for a great weekend breakfast option on Emma!

Yelp
We were at the ice rink and needed food at a hockey game. Their kitchen was open till 11pm. Wings were good. Pizza was great. Hit the spot.

Yelp
While visiting downtown Springdale we decided to try this place out. Nice place with a heavy emphasis on being a bar. Interesting service, while plenty of people working, they do not come to the tables, you have to order everything at the bar. We ordered drinks and a pizza and it came out timely. The pizza was cooked well and topping were ok, nothing great but good. Then we had to go to the bar to pay. I can say we have been

Jen R.

Yelp
Delicious. Cute, casual bar/restaurant. Delicious pizza and apps. Highly recommend for a quick bite downtown Springdale.

Michael N.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time today. Very friendly staff. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Excellent pizza and a big selection of brews! We'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Meg A.

Yelp
Cool little place. Good service and event better food and beer. They allow dogs, which I just love.
google avatar

Jackie B.

Yelp
Came here and tried the place out. Fabulous service and great happy hour prices! I got a sour and was shocked at the price ($4 for a pint!!). Food was great! Next time will order a pizza for dine in. The pizza we ordered was to go for my friends husband. Neither of us liked his choice in toppings. Lol!

Charity M.

Yelp
Our favorite local bar! The best pizza around with the feel of an old European Sports Bar. The owner is fantastic! Get there early if you want a seat!
google avatar

Janice N.

Yelp
We had the supreme pizza and it was very good!. The 9.00 salad was small and should have been 3.00. No service, (you order at the bar and they bring you a pizza and a plastic fork), so it's easy on the tips. Full bar is nice. Young, lively crowd.

Kari G.

Yelp
Great pizza, staff and such a fun atmosphere. The owner is always making sure everyone is having a good time and everyone works together so well it's becoming a fun hangout
google avatar

Jordana G.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this but everything was subpar. The biggest problem is the crust. The crust is dull and flavorless. Then we can talk about the sauce. Which is dull and flavorless. The ingredients are fresh (Yay). The service is ok (sort of ok). The pizzas are pretty dull. No one wanted the leftovers. That's a bad sign. Not great experience. I can't recommend. Probably won't return.
google avatar

Brooke P.

Yelp
Pizza is great! Thin and crunchy with alot of flavor. Great craft beer prices! It's a cute pub style type of place to eat and drink, we will be back!

Sarah D.

Yelp
The pizza is amazing. We lived in NJ and have struggled finding pizza here. This was amazing. The service was great (you order at the bar). The pretzel appetizer was pretty good, but the pizza was the star of the show.
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
The pizza is great...the fungi is the best. Cheese sticks are also solid. Most importantly, Jethro has the best beard in NWA... he's also friendly, efficient, and decorated the place nicely. Go check out the beard, pizza, and beer.
google avatar

Charly E.

Yelp
One of our fave places in Springdale! Their pizza and pretzel with beer cheese are amazing! The staff is always friendly! We love having this in our downtown area!
google avatar

Debi B.

Yelp
Possibly the best pizza I've ever eaten! Nice, thin crispy crust with a LOT of great toppings! Super friendly and attentive waitress/bartender. Will definitely return if we are in the area!

Jose M.

Yelp
Great beer and even greater pizza! Great spot to hangout with some friends and grab a bite/brew!
google avatar

Scott G.

Yelp
We love the food at this place. Get the pretzel every time. And the thin crust on the pizza is amazing. Still hate that they don't wait on you at your table but I can get over that. Need little vibe to the place also.

Jacob P.

Yelp
Awesome brunch! Service was great and fun options. We had the brunch omelette pizza and French toast pie
google avatar

Paige C.

Yelp
Friendly bartenders and great food what else do you need right. Great selections of beers on tap and definitely a great place to get great pizza and wings. On Saturdays they usally have great specials on beer flights and well drinks. The best pizzas are right here plus you can't go wrong with there wings from here.
google avatar

Jim P.

Yelp
Let me say their pizza has a really good flavor and the thin crust is excellent. That said, they are skimpy on ingredients. I noticed it the first time 3-4 weeks ago when I ordered a combo pizza. When I ordered a pepperoni pizza recently I asked for extra cheese and extra pepperoni and I paid extra for it to be loaded up. I could tell they dropped the ball when I was handed the box as it was very light. There were about 3 pepperonis on a slice and a conservative amount of cheese. Maybe the cooks didn't read the order, but I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to get more ingredients at this place. When they're not chincy with the toppings the pizza can be outstanding. I can understand the need to control food costs, but please allow someone to pay extra and follow thru.
google avatar

Keith S.

Yelp
Open til 12:00, can't order food past 11:00. thank you for wasting our time! Why stay open?
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
I really loved this place. The pizza was great and they even added pickles per my request!

Yelp
Friendly bartenders. Came here day after Christmas & it wasn't too busy (5ish) but that should be expected the day after Christmas. Tried the "odd soul" pizza & the cheese bread. We really enjoyed the pizza. The cheese bread was great with the marinara sauce but we didn't realize that the cheese bread was almost the same size as our pizza! If my only complaint was the size of the cheese bread, you already know I'll be back

David M.

Yelp
Great time, knowledgeable tenders and very friendly. Good beer and pizza too! And ... pet friendly for 'tame and controllable beasties'.

Miguel Angel R.

Yelp
Service is superb, fast and courageous, bar is nice with different beers local and imported. Pizza is delicious, I love the creativity. Ambiance is clean and light. Perfect for talking and enjoying a good time.
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
Pizza is so good!! The Odd Soul Calzone is fire. 4 Meat pizza is fire. Their "deep dish" is more like normal pizza and their normal pizza is like thin crust. Ranch is great. Marinara is great. Huge portions!! Food is really good!!! Dog friendly! Check them out!

Yelp
Went to The Odd Soul, tonight for our 22nd Wedding anniversary. It was our first time, the air in the car quit, it's 104 heat index, and we love great pizza! We arrived shortly after 5 pm with a pretty full house of friendly people and the promising aroma of great food. The atmosphere was friendly and the staff greeted us, too. We had salads, fried ravioli , and the Odd Soul pizza. The salads were served soon and were phenomenal! My wife had a side Ceasar, I had a side Greek! Both were fresh and cold with wonderful dressings. We both agreed large salads would have made a wonderful meal. However we were here for pizza! Our fried ravioli were served. They were good. However, nothing remarkable. Served with marinara. Our pizza was served promptly and was amazing! The Prosciutto had crisped up on the edges, and the sweetness of the honey played nicely against the spiciness of the siracha flakes and brine of the peppers. However, what made the pizza was the crispy crust. It's rich, yeasty goodness baked to perfection brought the whole thing together! It was very reasonably priced for such a wonderful meal! Nice to find a primo pizza place just blocks from our house! We'll be back!

Yelp
Just stopped in for a beer while we waited on someone. Didn't know about it before we stumbled upon it. Cool vibe. Lots of beers on tap, mostly local or regional products. Most people in the area would be familiar with their beer menu. I love the lighting in the afternoon. Lots of great light coming in from the windows along the ceiling. The characteristics of the old building definitely show off well. Didn't eat so I only gave it 4 stars. Menu looked great. Mostly pizzas. We will definitely come back to let them earn that 5th star.
google avatar

Yelp
The reason I am giving the Odd Soul three (3) stars is below: *The process for ordering pizza to go while waiting in the Pub is not efficient. I was never prompted nor alerted that my pizza was ready. Therefore my pizza spent an extra 10 minutes sitting in the warmer and was not as hot and fresh as it was right out of the oven. They took my name but beyond that it just seemed like an empty process. *I would suggest after taking Customer's name, have the Kitchen or Bar call out their name when the pizza is done. This will ensure a fresh hot pizza is experienced every time! I also have to let you know the Customer Service in this place is Fabulous! The Bartenders and everyone is totally Customer-centric! Not to mention the great choices of Beer and the variety pizzas! Correct the in-store to go process and the stars will increase!
google avatar

Olivia G.

Yelp
Recently went here for a work lunch, it was a good vibe and good food. I like that they do it by the slice so you don't have to all agree on a pizza, although their slices are usually just cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and the daily specials. This day's was the spinach and chicken special which was delicious. My only complaint is that the pizza does taste like it's been sitting out a while, which for pizza by the slice I'm sure it has. I would like to come back and try a full, fresh pizza. My friend has an order of garlic Parmesan fries and they were delicious and a huge serving. Overall great spot, I'll be back!
google avatar

Rozlyn H.

Yelp
Got the Thunder Chicken pizza. Shit smacked. Seriously this place never disappoints!

Jared G.

Yelp
Drinks are solid, the bartenders are fun and warm. The drink specials can be hit or miss. Try the Peanut Butter Old Fashioned - it will rock your socks. Their "Odd Soul" pizza with hot honey will make you wonder if you have been living under a rock... the 4 meats is my favorite pizza that is not from a chain in the NWA region.
google avatar

Jerry E.

Yelp
In Springdale, AR you don't expect to find 23 beers on tap powered by DigitalPour, top shelf bourbons and Irish Whiskeys or Plantation Rums, yet here it is with incredible pretzels and amazing pizzas and calzones. Service was phenomenal and owners ensured masks were worn if you left your table. Bonus points! Spiced Pretzels
google avatar

Steven J.

Yelp
Pizza was good. Nice crust and toppings. The only thing is that it seemed to lack much pizza sauce at all. I used the marinara sauce that came with the cheese bread and that made it perfect. So good pizza, just not much sauce on it at all.

Becky S.

Yelp
Happy accident! We were in the area, looking for lunch, and stumbled onto this place. We were afraid that we would stick out like sore thumbs because we did not arrive on bikes but it wouldn't have mattered if people pointed and laughed as the food was definitely worth it! The cheese bread was amazing and a great indication of the deliciousness to come. The four meat pizza was fantastic and the crust was perfect. The Hamilton was delicious-- I need to find out where the rolls come from! The fries were good-- we ordered them with house seasoning and extra ranch. Glad we stopped in-- we'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Ray W.

Yelp
Waited an hour and never got our food. Apparently there was a mix up with the ordering system. I can understand that but the lack of concern as we sat and waited while other diners were served food they just ordered was unacceptable. We've really enjoyed this place in the past. I'm m very disappointed!
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Skillet pizza and Hibiscus Cider. Y U M. Service was fast, bar ambiance was chill. Great selection of libations.

Yelp
This place is very unique and while the sorta rowdy atmosphere may not appeal to some, I found it oddly (I guess that's where the name derives) charming. The building itself has a long history & was at one time, a pharmacy- you can still see the drive thru window. I got the feeling a lot of regulars come here. There's a few tables outside the entrance & inside, you can sit at the bar, some high tops or play a round of pool in the back. Not sure about food, but 20 different beers on tap & there's a screen where you can see how much is left in the kegs. It's noisy & we were there for a birthday party. Great little neighborhood joint in downtown Springdale.
