The Old Bank

"A welcoming couple run this intimate, laid-back restaurant: Aga works out front, assisted by a friendly serving team, while Lewis works alone in the kitchen. His well-balanced tasting menu comes in two forms – ‘Shorter’ and ‘Longer’ – and sees produce from their allotment and the surrounding area kept to the fore in the sophisticated, modern dishes. The passionately described wine pairings are the way to go." - Michelin Inspector

Wow! This place is just incredible. Completely agree with other reviews saying ‘best meal ever’. This place really is that good. Brilliantly cooked, great range of excellent varied and interesting ingredients, and amazing service. Good, wine list that has enough wines to be interesting but doesn’t try to offer everything. We tried three wines and they were all great and pretty reasonably priced. Only approx 9 tables and has a really relaxed intimate atmosphere really helped by the exceptional service. We will definitely come back.

We had booked a last minute break in Snettisham and came across this restaurant. As they are booked up well in advance, I emailed and asked to be put on their wait list for a cancellation. Aga's communication was excellent and half an hour later someone had cancelled and we had a table. We arrived and had a warm and welcoming greeting. We chose the long tasting menu with the wine flight and were delighted with what we were served. Stunning food with perfectly balanced flavours and textures, all accompanied by the perfect tipple. If you are a foodie I strongly recommend this restaurant as you won't be disappointed. It is really hard to select a stand out course however the hand dived scallop with lobster bisque possibly just topped the bill.

Really enjoyed our meal and experience here. As with any set menu they can be hit & miss when it comes to personal choice and creating a menu that is to everyone’s taste is always difficult but we enjoyed 90% of the dishes here. We made a last minute booking and considered this lucky as you really do need to book quite far in advance. My only criticism would be regarding the drinks menu, it was quite limited and did not offer any high end spirits or bubbles. Not were they able to make a staple cocktail in an Old Fashioned but I didn’t feel is was right to mark them down for this but I hope you take it on board. We opted for the wine pairing which added roughly £50 per person. Together with the “longer” set menu (minus the optional cheese plate) this meal for two cost £330. The toilet is located outside in a separate building so not very convenient but given the small/quaint restaurant it’s not a big deal unless you are with youngsters or elderly maybe. I didn’t take photos of all courses FYI

What a lovely cafe and bakery, you can really see why they have deservedly won many awards! Great quality, locally sourced food, well worth the short wait for a table at busy times! We had beautiful cooked breakfasts, one of the best I've had with home baked bread and lovely locally roasted coffees. The staff were all really kind, genuine and helpful which is lovely to see, a great small business indeed. We'll be back for sure and highly recommend!

Amazing place to go for good food. You need to book in advance as they have a limited number of tables and they are always fully booked. This is a place to relax and enjoy food and wine. Take your time and don't rush it. I have had their tasting menu twice and we love it. I don't usually eat Lamb and here I can eat anything! There is parking outside but it can be tricky to find a free spot sometimes.

Four of us had lovely evening here, every course was superb, as were the wines. The staff were knowledgeable and the atmosphere relaxed. Perfect.

What an absolutely fantastic place…if you like food, you’re going to love it here. Every course on the tasting menu was excellent…didn’t photograph them all as I was too quick to start eating! I had the paired wines, that had been perfectly selected by Aga King, half of the husband/wife team that runs the place. She had an excellent knowledge of each wine and was a pleasure to chat with. Briefly met Lewis King too, as he served one of the courses. I wouldn’t hesitate to come here again, next time I am in the area, we had a truly wonderful evening.
