Longtime Locals Pay Respects to the Old Spaghetti Factory Nashville | Eater Nashville

"After four decades as a downtown Nashville institution, the Old Spaghetti Factory — part of an international chain based in Portland, Oregon — was stunned last week when its landlord terminated the lease even though the restaurant held rights to the space through 2035, a blow that gutted locals. The restaurant had barely survived the destructive Christmas Day bombing and officials had reportedly planned a complete restoration, but the lease loss compounded the pain. I’m struck by how much the 56-member team meant to the community — some employees had worked more than 20 years, and district manager Todd Saxey described the hourly staff as a fun-loving, caring “family” who came to work ready to make others happy. People shared vivid, specific memories — sitting in the musty train car, first dates in canopy-bed tables, Velvet playing his guitar outside, the purple barber chair at the bar, virgin Coladas/daiquiris when they were kids, the Caboose, sausages and spumoni ice cream, and buying Mizithra cheese by the pound — and recalled it as an affordable, consistently good spot for school trips, date nights, pre-game hangs and nights out long before Second Avenue drew tourists. Officials say they are looking to reopen in a new Nashville space, but losing this particular location feels like a deeper cultural wound as the city continues to heal." - Eater

The Aspirational Food World Tried (and Failed) to Shame My Love of Red Sauce | Bon Appétit

"The source of a childhood favorite: a plate of spaghetti coated in butter and topped with salty grated Greek Mizithra cheese, a nostalgic comfort dish that shaped the author’s early taste." - ByAlex Pemoulie

OSF has been one of my favorite restaurants since I was young. I grew up going to the one in Southern California and have been to quite a few in this area now that I have moved. They were very accommodating, we had a LARGE party of 13; and they were able to get us a table within half hour of us calling them. This location is 2 stories & has outdoor dining available. We were seated upstairs; near another large party who also had younger children. I think this was a great use of the space as both parties knew and had children of their own. I am a sucker for the browned butter with mizithra cheese and is my go to. But there were so many different dishes ordered by our party, and there were nearly no complaints. We had one order that came out that had to be remade as there was an allergen we did not know about. For the amount of people we had the waitstaff did incredible. We were treated well and rarely had a low or empty drink. The food was all great quality and the service was wonderful.

My friend and I had a casual lunch at this meticulously decorated restaurant—made especially enjoyable by the hospitable staff! Our server Christian was very kind and attentive, and we felt very much welcomed in the restaurant. We shared a fried calamari and Mizithra cheese & browned butter spaghetti, which came with a generous loaf of bread, salad, and spumoni ice cream (a mix of chocolate, pistachio, and cherry flavors). The food was fantastic, and the portions were so generous. Will definitely be back to try other specialties!

So the first thing I noticed about this place was the service. I accidentally dropped my napkin on the floor. As I was picking it up the general manager Barney was there handed me a fresh napkin and taken the one I had just dropped on the floor away. Cole was my server and he was very attentive to my needs. Even had ice cream at the end of my meal. The baked lasagna was absolutely awesome. I have to say it's better than my mom made. Sorry Mom. This place is a must visit the atmosphere service and food make this a five-star restaurant.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review We celebrated my daughter’s 13th birthday here on November 21, 2025, with a group of 23 people, and everything was truly 5 stars — the staff, the food, the service, all of it. We were seated in the upstairs room, which was wonderful and perfect for our celebration. The only thing that could have made it even nicer would have been the option to play a little music for ambience. Other than that, everything was absolutely amazing. A special shout-out to Michael, our server, who went above and beyond for our entire group. He was attentive, friendly, and always available for anything we needed. His outstanding service made the night extra special. Honestly, he should be a manager — that’s how exceptional he was. Highly recommend this location. We’ll definitely be back!

Creamiest, tasty veg pasta that you can get here is Mushroom ravioli. I have had most of their other pastas which are okay ish. However the veg mushroom beats them all. Definitely Recommend. The soup wasn’t that fun, however I have had a better soup at a different branch of this restaurant

Had a reservation for 6:30, waited 30 minutes to get our table but it was a party of 10 people so that made up for it. Our waiter was very generous and the atmosphere was pretty nice. I enjoyed the salad and bread, overall 8.5/10 for the food, 7/10 for the service, and 8/10 for the atmosphere. Probably would come again.

We had a Celebration of Life event, and The Old Spaghetti Factory was perfect for the occasion. Ramon was very helpful, as he made the reservation process and food choices very easy. He was also very flexible with changes to the plans. Uriel and Peggy were awesome servers. They were professional, friendly, and extremely accommodating. The food was good , the atmosphere was perfect, and the management and staff ensured that everything ran smoothly. Thank you very much!

Yelp
Because of John, this was the worst service experiences I've had. John, our server, was openly rude, impatient, and dismissive throughout the meal. He spoke extremely fast, repeatedly cut me off while I was speaking, and addressed me and my girlfriend in a condescending, authoritative tone, creating an uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. There is absolutely no excuse for this level of unprofessional behavior. His attitude completely overshadowed the food and left a very negative impression.

Yelp
The venue itself is so cute - love the lit walkway to get to the restaurant and the cable car inside. Outside of that, the service and food were lacking, hence the lower rating. We had a reservation for 11 at 5:30pm on New Years Eve and the table still took time before we were able to be seated. We asked for 2 high chairs, received one, asked another couple times, and ended up grabbing the second one ourselves. Upon asking for ginger beer, our server informed us that no one's ever asked him for that before. He also didn't provide straws, nor did the drinks come with ice. We had sat for quite some time before finally he introduced us to his coworker who would be taking over because he felt sick(!!!). She did an amazing job communicating, grabbing items we needed, and enduring the rest of the experience was great. We didn't get waters until she stepped in. On to the food... I ordered the gluten free mushroom sauce. It was ok at best, I could've whipped something up myself at home with more flavor and depth. The meals all supposedly come with vanilla ice cream or spumoni, neither of which we received. Based on this experience I more than likely would not be back.

Yelp
Spinach Artichoke Dip(7/10): I wish there were more vegetables in them, but it was still delicious nonetheless! Spinach and Cheese Ravioli(5/10): Originally I wanted the mushroom ravioli, but they ran out at the time so I ordered these instead. This was my fault, but I thought it came with a creamy sauce. It came with red sauce so I asked them if it can be remade. They were very accommodating and switched it out to the creamy one. I prefer the creamy sauce over the tomato one. I do think the ravioli does lack salt and there wasn't much filling. Italian Cream Soda(9/10): I like the glass cup it came in! I do think it's worth the price. It was very creamy and very sweet! Cotton Candy Limeade(7/10): I liked the cotton candy placed on top, but other than that, it was very sweet. I feel like that is to be expected. I didn't really taste the lime, just mainly sparkling water. Spumoni(9/10): I really enjoyed the ice cream! My favorite is the cherry compared to the pistachio and vanilla. I will say it was icy so that's why I had to dock off a point, but other than that, I enjoyed the dessert! Service(10/10): Although the food items were ok, the service was top notch! Our server was very accommodating and very friendly. Even though it was a busy night, they went above and beyond to make sure our experience was going great! I wish I had remembered theirs' and a few other servers' names that had helped our night be a great one! Overall, I enjoyed my experience there and will come again because of their top notch service!

Yelp
OSF is an absolute institution, perfect for a cozy dinner during the holiday season, and a must-try in the downtown SJ area!! The moment you step in, it feels like you're entering a bustling dining room inside a medieval castle or manor. The seating areas are cutely decorated and warmly lit, not to mention the adorable exterior leading to the restaurant. On to the food!~ Stand-out dishes: Rich Meat Sauce (9.5/10): I got the rich meat sauce and ended up clearing my plate. The sauce was perfectly seasoned and the pasta was bouncy. Spinach artichoke dip (10/10): Other stand-outs for our table were the Spinach artichoke dip--soo buttery and generously topped with parmesean! Brown butter pasta + lasagna (10/10): The brown butter pasta had an addicting toffee-like taste & their lasagna was also spot-on! I also recommend their Watermelon cocktail, sweet & not too strong! We all loved the creamy and decadent vanilla ice cream at the end!! The service was alright and it's important that you double check the receipt before paying. Parking can be found in a garage next door (I think we paid $10) and you can walk through the back entrance/OSF parking lot into their cute alley to get to the door.

Yelp
Dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory in the San Pedro Market area is always a pleasant experience. On this visit, my friends and I not only enjoyed our meal, service, and environment, but the monthly Mystery Dinner Theatre makes it extra special. as the performance plays out, our meal of break, salad, entree (spaghetti with mushroom sauce for me) are so enjoyable. We ate on the second floor is the private dining area. The seating on that floor waiting area and the decor in general is almost vintage and teleports you to a simple and refined time. A lot of fun. Well place in the Market with easy access from the parking garage across the closed street. So much to explore in the area, this is a great way to cap the day.

Yelp
Was in the area for Christmas in the Park. We were craving pasta so decided to swing by here! We were happy to be seated right away. Unfortunately, they didn't see us so it took a while for the waiter to come. After that, the service was fine. Spinach & Artichoke Dip (4/5) - The dip was fresh and hot! The cheese on top made it a nice accompaniment for texture. The dip it self wasn't too heavy, which I found very nice. I, however, though the dip it self was a bit salty as it can't be eaten by itself. The bread was nice and crispy with it being thin. Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter (3.2/5) - This was a new flavor for me. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked for my preference. There was a lot of cheese, so I didn't need to add more. I think that it was a bit more sweet than I would have liked with the brown butter. In addition, the cheese didn't really melt and felt like it was just sticked on. I was have it melted a bit so it suited with the soft pasta and brown butter feel. Spicy Spaghetti Vesuvius (4.2/5) - This was my favorite dish of the night. The spiciness had a nice kick to it. I also added additional peppers to give it more of a kick. Bell peppers weren't for me, but it was my fault to ask for it to not be included. The chicken sausage was delicious and had a small snap to it which was nice. Spumoni (4.5/5)- It was a nice mix of chocolate, pistachio and cherry. When eaten all together, it had a very nice harmony of flavor. I was unlucky that the scoop I had was mostly chocolate but can't really make ice cream fully even. Overall, it was a great dinner and a nice good San Jose spot to check out. I will definitely come back again!

Yelp
Parking was easy at the near by parking garage. They offer 90min free and it's $1 for every 15min after. It's pretty easy to get a table as it's pretty big and they can easily accommodate large groups Their menu is pretty small. I ordered the chicken Alfredo with broccoli. All their dishes come with bread, soup or salad, and ice cream for dessert. The noodle and chicken were on the dry side. All the food also came out pretty slow but the server was super nice.

Yelp
The Old Spaghetti Factory, located in San Pedro Square, is a charming Italian restaurant. This place has been around for as long as I can remember. When you first enter, there are massive large sitting chairs spread around. There is also a sitting area on the top floor. You are greeting by warm friendly faces, who are ready to seat you. A historic trolley is in the dining room and we have been able to be seated in the trolley after asking. The waiters and waitresses are just as friendly and accommodating as the hosts. I love the antique vibe of this place! The food is always delicious! I always ask for a hearty portion when I order lunch here because I will have dinner too!! You meal comes with a soup or salad and you get a scoop of spumoni ice cream too!! If you haven't been, try it the next time you go to San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose!!

Yelp
Old spaghetti factory in downtown San Jose is a staple. If you have not experienced an old spaghetti factory, I would recommend that you visit this one. It's everything that an Old spaghetti factory should be. We ordered lasagna, Chicken parmigiana, and wild mushroom ravioli. Ravioli. The deal at Old spaghetti factory is that meals are served "complete ". This means they come with either a soup or salad, bread, and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. This is a nice touch, and it allows for your meal to feel special. Our food was nothing to write home about, but it was tasty, and there were large portions of each item delivered to the table. We had good service, and the bread was warm. Whenever we're looking for something kind of retro, we head to Old spaghetti factory. You owe it to yourself to try this place at least once.

Yelp
The food here is amazing we came here to get some Italian my friend and I because I was craving Italian The Italian food here Is like what good food used to taste like! It's yummy homemade goodness! We walked in and we're immediately greeted by a polite friendly lady and surrounded by the old gorgeous furniture that looked like something from an Italian castle in a fairytale book we asked for a table for 2 she led us to a trolley in the middle of the restaurant which was surprising and sat us at a table inside a trolley! The trolley was lit up with colorful lights inside there were awesome pictures on the walls. I ordered the minestrone, the shrimp Alfredo, spumoni ice cream and a cherry Italian soda. And my friend ordered the spinach tortellini and salad and vanilla ice cream and a unsweetened iced tea. In the end it was a wonderful dinner the service was attentive. I found out after the dinner from a friend that most people don't get to sit in the trolley so it was a fun time and special. Thank old spaghetti factory for a wonderful experience! Needless to say we will be back. It was fabulous.

Yelp
I love the interior and that may only be it. This was a sad experience. My husband made reservation for my birthday on Wednesday night and I chose here to celebrate since it was where I came as a child. I wanted my kids to experience the fun place this one was. Guess I was wrong. We were seated right away since there was no line. Restaurant was not even half full but remind you it is a Wednesday night. The host sat us down in a four seater but it felt cramped so we asked to be moved to a bigger table since it didn't seem busy. They moved us to a six seater booth, asked if we wanted a booster but brought a high chair. I asked if we could get a booster so that the high chair wouldn't be in the way of the walk way. Host never came back with the booster. Didn't think nothing of it just weird. She looked young so maybe she didn't know the difference between a high chair and booster. Idk. The server came right away seconds after we sat down and asked if we would like to order drinks. This felt rushed since we didn't even open the menu. I asked for some time, Greg our server didn't offer water said ok take your time and just zoomed away. We had two kids underage of 6 it was slightly chaos. Greg came back and took our drink orders and appetizer. I ordered a mocktail my husband a IPA. The berry mocktail was not delicious just syrup at the bottom with no straw to be offered to drink out of. Food was mediocre nothing special. Husband order shrimp fettuccine which had no taste. I had a lobster ravioli which was delicious. Kids had Mac and cheese and meat sauce spaghetti. Couldn't tell if there was meat in it but they enjoyed it. The salad was over dressed so it was way too spicy. Then ice cream dessert came along, unfortunately no candle no complementary dessert no song. There were two other tables celebrating birthdays. Over all I wasn't fascinated with our servers service. The only reason I tipped 18% was the two servers who covered for him during his break. The gal was super sweet and nice and the other gentlemen who was helping out the table adjacent was sweet and helped out the other table very well. Too bad we didn't get him as our server. After I went to the restroom it needed to be attended. We won't be coming back.

Yelp
We made reservations, arrived 30 minutes early. The host was very nice and we were seated immediately. Our waiter Mohamed was very attentive and personable. Food... Bread 10/10 (hot/fresh out the oven) Calamari appetizers 9/10 Salad (pesto ranch) 8/10 Lasagna 9/10 Chicken parm 2/10 (no breading, bland, overcooked) Chicken picatta 9/10 Moscow mule 6/10 Lemonade 7/10 Spumoni 10/10 Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Meal was good but a 5:30 reservation when you're not seated until 5:50 feels unacceptable It shouldn't take 10 minutes to "clear" a table.
google avatar

Jeannette L.

Yelp
Came here for lunch because it's the best time for parking and the place was pretty quiet. We got sat upstairs by ourselves, which worked since my sisters kids were with us. The vibe was very calm and a bit dark for my liking. Gave more of a date night lighting rather than a family lunch. The food was good. But I will say I've had better lasagna. The flavors were there but the pasta sheets were a bit over cooked and a little tough to chew. But I loved their bread as usual. And the spimoni (not sure if spelled correctly) ice cream was a great ending and tasty at that.

Yelp
The Old Spaghetti Factory in Downtown San Jose's San Pedro Square is a favorite celebration restaurant for our family. We have had our wedding rehearsal dinner here, baptism receptions, birthdays, and other special occasions. We are never disappointed with the food and the servers are always friendly and courteous! The ambiance always kindles fond happy memories for our family over the 15 years that we have patronized this restaurant.

Yelp
I have been coming to Old Spaghetti Factory since middle school! I came recently for a friends bday and got the Mizithra pasta and added shrimp. It was good, but the shrimp didn't taste seasoned as much.

Yelp
Apparently reservations mean nothing to the hosts at the front. We extend a courtesy by making one; you disregard it. Always loved coming here and now I'm not so sure. Guess I'll start making the Homer at home.

Yelp
I haven't been inside one for over 20 years. There used to be a location at Jack London Square in Oakland, CA long time ago. This Old Spaghetti Factory is excellent and convenient at location across the street from Park SJ parking garage. It still has its old traditional touch and historic charms. Dark and dim lighting inside. Unique and beautiful. Old fashioned rusty dusty feeling. Staffs were helpful. Not many customers are there during weekday lunchtime. I actually enjoyed dining inside quietly today. By the way, their lunch menu options, especially the pasta classics course meal set is still very much cheaper than dinner menu prices. Save a few more bucks by visiting at lunchtime instead. Military/veterans/first responders 10% discount available. I like it here, especially looking at those old architectural features and windows. My pasta mizithra lunch pasta was only $16.25. Yes, what a good fat wallet deal. Cheesy pasta just the way I like it. Portions were still generous too. Comes with the best warm fluffy soft sourdough bread and butter, plus your choice of minestrone soup or Caesars salad with dressing. Very good. Spumoni ice cream comes with the meal only at dinner, so expect to pay another $1.99 for ice cream if you want to add it to your pasta classics lunch meal. My hot green tea was $3.50. Overall, good value, good service as needed, and great first impression so far. Peaceful and relaxing inside. $23.78 after taxes and before tips. Not bad for a good portion of great tasting foods. I'm glad I stopped by. Beautiful landscape and beautiful benches outside. Good feeling. I hope they gain more customers. I will be revisiting in future. Note, most menus you see posted on Yelp are dinner menu prices. Expect a good lunch around a good $20 average. Music in the background was calming. No crowds or long lines. Unbeatable. They definitely need to dust off the dining areas. It's really old and dusty inside. Original, but can be improved. Loving it so far.

Yelp
Really disappointed in our experience here. We had a big group (13 people) and decided on this location because it was convenient and had something for everyone in our group, and I 'thought' they were good at handling large groups. I made a reservation and they were ready for us when we arrived. However, it went downhill from there. We ordered drinks and appetizers and then our entrees. We got some of our drinks, but not others (my mom ordered a glass of wine which never showed up and when we asked about it they were like "oh we're out of that"). The entrees showed up before the appetizers and everything showed up before the bread and butter. We had to ask for everything including water refills. Several soups and salads never showed up at all. The food was fine, but not good enough to make up for the frustration of the poor service. We won't bother to return.

Yelp
Reliable Old Spaghetti Factory! I love coming here for a good deal and a reliable good meal. Their 3 course meal deal is my favorite thing about coming here! Their service was pretty quick. The ambiance is so fun! They have trolley car that has seating within it! If you ask the host, you can easily get seating in there!

Yelp
I really think you get your "bang for your buck" here if you really don't feel like cooking dinner. Can't go wrong with a minestrone soup or a salad, a pasta, and an ice cream. My favorite is spumoni 10 out of 10. Lasagna here ain't my Nonnie's but damn it hits when you are hungry hungry lol. Service is good, ambiance is aite. I would ask to sit in the train :).

Yelp
Update 12/16/25: No word back from Old Spaghetti Factory after contacting them via their website. We still gotta hit up Round Table and Red Robin to make up for the bull we went thru. TL:DR version: This place ruined my wife's birthday dinner. Olive Garden has not done me dirty like this, ever; we'll be going there moving forward, or to San Pedro Square Market if we want to eat downtown. Full version: This place has usually had a nice ambience even if they always seat us next to the kitchen where it's loud. But it's gone downhill since I was a kid coming here with big groups for birthdays. The service was terrible, and the food was just barely warm and mediocre, wayyyyy overpriced for what I got. I requested seating for 2 over a week ago for my wife's birthday (12/10/25) and requested trolley/cable car seating. Again, I specifically stated it's my wife's birthday and requested trolley seating on the reservation notes. I figured since it landed on a Wednesday and was late, it would be less busy, and we would get the seating we requested. The front lobby staff who sat us said simply, "It's closed," when I asked in-person to be seated there. There were multiple groups of patrons and multiple empty tables visible from where I was standing inside of the trolley seating area... it was far from closed, full, or reserved for one party. What a lazy lie! Then the salad they brought was limp and lifeless, like from the bottom of an old bag of salad mix. I finished as much as I could of it and put it at the edge of the table where it sat for 10 minutes before any server could be bothered to stoop to the level of taking an empty plate from a patron's table, despite being seated by the kitchen and many servers coming and going, passing our table. The entrees were barely warm and mediocre, all around, both mine and my wife's plates (classic lasagna and gluten free fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp). We were not offered more napkins, and no refill for my water. To top it off, the staff was using the floor close to our table as an unofficial break room. It was an uncomfortable and terrible experience, and neither of us will be back for date nights or to accompany/bring a group of friends. As a matter of fact, I will make it a point to dissuade everyone who mentions this place from going.

Yelp
5 Stars - A Fantastic Vintage Dining Experience! I recently dined at The Old Spaghetti Factory with my sister, and it was hands down one of the best restaurant experiences we've had! From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the vintage train-themed decor, which gave the whole place a charming and nostalgic atmosphere. What really caught our attention was the Murder Mystery Night--we're definitely coming back for that! Our server, Anthony, was outstanding--attentive, patient, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The service was top-notch from start to finish. We started with warm bread served with whipped butter, vinegar, and oil, which was a great way to begin the meal. We decided to share a three-course meal, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that we could each get our own starter and dessert! My sister chose the minestrone soup, which she said was her favorite thing on the menu. I went with the green salad with creamy ranch, and it was just as delicious as it was creamy. For the entrée, we ordered the White Clam Pasta, and it was packed with flavor. We only made it through half before we were full because the portions were huge. The big portions were absolutely worth it for the price--we got so much food for what we paid, making it a fantastic value. To finish off the meal, I had the Neapolitan ice cream with cherry, pistachio, and chocolate--the perfect sweet treat to end an already fantastic dining experience. Overall, this visit exceeded my expectations. Between the amazing food, excellent service, and the exciting events like Murder Mystery Night and wine tastings, I can't wait to come back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience with generous portions.

Yelp
The restaurant is located in San Pedro Square; a mall of many restaurants. Street metered parking is pretty good. The restaurant is directly across a parking garage. The atmosphere reminds me of a church with stain glass windows, booths, high ceilings and antique light fixtures. Atmosphere is welcoming. We had our own dining room (group of 20) that was spacious and relaxing. The only complaint was that the room was dark where a majority of us had to use our phone's flashlights to read the menu. The menu's print was hard to see and there was too much going on. It seems they wanted to squeeze all menu items onto a two sided menu. We had one server/waiter that was friendly, helpful, patience and efficient. He took our orders quickly with graciousness. I specially told him that I don't want any garnishing like the flakes that they put on entrees because I don't eat onions nor parsley/cilantro. When my order came, the meat did not have any flakes but the pasta was loaded with flakes. This is so illogical to me that I showed my plate to the server/waiter and he knew immediately what was wrong with my plate. He later came back with a new non-flake plate. My complaint is that the food was not temperature hot, the way I like it. Instead it was luke warm. I don't like seeing melted cheese looking like a slab. - to me, it's like it was sitting somewhere. My table mates were in agreement that the food was luke warm, even the soup, and was too salty. The best were the cotton candy lemonade and spumoni ice cream. This spumoni ice cream looked what I was accustomed to but it was missing the candied fruits. I am giving it a three star rating because the food was so so. Service and ambiance are five stars.

Yelp
This OSF is exactly what you expect at any OSF. Docking one star because it took over 20 minutes and two flagging down bus boys before we got a server to even say hello to us. Very non ideal when we have 4 kids 4yo and under at the end of the long day. Huge kudos to John who saw my sad and frustrated arm flailing and got the hostess to assign our table to him so he could serve us. He went out of his way to ensure from that point forward that we were taken care of and even was thoughtful on the food delivery ordering so adults got a chance to eat. Food was all tasty, the exact OSF American comfort food you expect! Manager favorite, lobster ravioli, fettucine Alfredo and chicken park all as expected. Nothing fancy, but all tasty! Kids loved their meals - can't believe it's only $9 for 3 course kids. As always the fresh hot bread complimentary was a hit - paired extra well with the Spinach Artichoke Dip so we could get all of it! The ambiance is also great for little kids - they were welcomed by diners onto the trolley when exploring and we had the whole upstairs couch area to run around. Highly recommend for families with little kids looking for a no fuss kid friendly place, just make sure you get a sever assigned to you at the start ...

Yelp
Still thriving from the looks of it. We've been taking advantage of their $25 meatball Monday deal once in awhile. Deal comes with 2 salad or soups, bread, spaghetti and meatballs (4) for 2, choice of 2 beverages or a half carafe of house wine (about 2 full wine classes) and 2 ice creams. We usually get full off of the bread, salad, wine and ice cream with another meal of spaghetti for lunch the next day. Service can be hit or miss. The last two times we've gone, they sat us in the trolley. How fun! I'm viewing others orders, we're surprised more people do not take advantage of the deal considering one entree is about $20 already. For a few dollars more, you get drinks plus another entree worth. It's not the best quality pasta but it's still pretty tasty and a great deal!

Yelp
This is the first time I've ever experienced them not giving us bread when we sat down to eat we got our main dishes before the bread. As for the service very unhappy kept asking for the bread asked for napkins never got them we asked for refills still waiting. I get this place gets busy but it isn't that busy 1st time I didn't have to wait for a table haven't been here in a over a year now I remembered why so disappointed from my visit today Cole's reply for the bread is 3 min it's I. The oven 3 min 15 min later still waiting as for the soup sheesh where's the noodles and veggies it was mostly broth......

Yelp
I had dinner here recently with a large group. We had 16 people total - half kids. I got there late after the group was already sat upstairs but I do know the original waiter was not good at all. But once a 2nd waiter took over, things greatly improved. The first waiter took food orders before even asking about drinks. So some of the food came before we had any drinks. This was under the first waiter. Once the 2nd waiter took over, she made sure we all got our drinks, salads and entrees later on. She did a much better job and really took care of us. Some of us shared the sangria pitcher. This was really tasty. It had more of a sparkling blush flavor than a strong red wine flavor which i enjoyed. Their salads are always good too. And the bread is very tasty. For my entree, I had the Gourmet Jumbo Crab Ravioli: Large ravioli stuffed with savory crab meat and ricotta cheese topped with a rich Pesto Alfredo Sauce. Very tasty. Not a strong flavor but overall I enjoyed it. And I love their spumoni ice cream for dessert. Also a nice treat at the end.

Yelp
I have not been to an old spaghetti factory in about 40 years. I used to go to the one in Sacramento when I was young. We were in San Jose to see STARS on ice and my granddaughter enjoys old spaghetti factory so we decided to have lunch here. Although it didn't look crowded there was about a 10 minute wait. The kids menu although brief is very reasonable at $7.99 which includes a beverage. My granddaughter ordered the mac & cheese and she ate all of it. I had a mushroom ravioli, which was very tasty although extremely rich, but the side salad was a iceberg lettuce mix out of a bag. The Arnold Palmer I had was so pale it almost looked like water. I tasted it, and it was like an extremely watered down lemonade. I ended up not drinking it, and the server did not charge me for it when I let her know it was not up to par. My daughter had a mock-tail and she said it was tasty however, it didn't come out until much later than my beverage- we were mid-meal when it finally arrived. I'd have to say the best part for me was their spumoni ice cream, which I haven't had in many many years. It wasn't what I expected, which is usually a vanilla ice cream with some dried fruit in it. However, it was more like a Neapolitan, but with pistachio ice cream in it and was really delicious . The prices for the meals (except the kids) I found to be a little bit high for the food.

Yelp
When I was a kid, going to the Old Spaghetti Factory was a big treat. Usually reserved for my birthday, when I would go with friends and we'd hope to sit inside the special train car. Now as an adult, going to OSF is an indulgence I look forward to: Delicious pasta, maybe some garlic cheese bread, and that special ice cream for dessert. OSF in downtown San Jose has survived multiple downturns and is still going strong! The servers are always friendly, and the interior ambiance is really cool!

Yelp
Wow, what an improvement! The Factory must have changed hands again and the buyer knows how to run a restaurant. We were seated promptly, a waiter appeared quickly to take our orders and the food arrived hot and timely. In addition, they have added Senior Citizen versions is several of their most popular dishes. These are smaller and less pricey portions that are exactly the right amounts. Good job, new owners!

Yelp
A bad picture for a great meal! I ordered the wild mushroom ravioli and it was so good and fulfilling. I love how you get soup/salad before and ice cream after, all for the price of the entree. Service was pretty fast and our waiter was very nice and accommodating. Parking is very tight, so we parked on a nearby street and walked to the restaurant though.

Yelp
Food: tried their GARLIC MIZITHRA, which is spaghetti with Mizithra cheese & browned butter, garlic, bacon, and mushrooms. (1360 Cal) $21.99 as of May 2024. It was good but eating a plate of that could become a little "one note" towards the end, but I still enjoyed it. I think if they had included a wedge of lemon or something citrusy or acidic, it would've elevated the dish in my opinion. This is served with bread (490 Cal), minestrone soup (100 Cal) or a green salad with a choice of dressing (120-300 Cal), and their signature spumoni (170 Cal) or vanilla ice cream (170 Cal) for dessert. The bread came super late, and they only provided two small loaves for a large party of 11 people, which in my mind was not remotely enough. And they didn't even come back to offer additional bread. So, I was less than impressed about that, to say the least. With that said, their house salad with their creamy pesto ranch was good. I would get that again. The spumoni ice cream (cherry, chocolate, pistachio) at the end was also a great ending to our dinner. Service: as mentioned before, it felt like they really skimped out on the bread. In addition, our waiter kept on forgetting people's drinks and salad. So the service was not good. Unfortunately I think that really negatively impacted our dining experience and my overall impression of this restaurant. Ambiance: the restaurant looks like an old-school Italian restaurant with cozy vibes. I liked it.

Yelp
This place is always a classic to go to and it's been forever since I've been here too. We were greeted right away by the host and no wait for the 2 of us for a Sunday lunch. We sat in the trolley that did feel a little tight. My go to dish is their famous mizthra spaghetti with browned butter. It was delicious!! I love how it comes with hot bread, salad or soup, and ice cream for dessert. The bread was freshly baked and really hot. I got the creamy pesto salad. We ordered the mizthra with a side of the chicken Parmesan. The chicken was good size and tasty with sauce and cheese on top. Everything was delicious and perfect for the 2 of us to share it. We filled up on the bread as well and this was a cheese lover's dream. Lots of cheese and butter!! I can't wait to come back for more mizthra!

Yelp
My friend and I came for dinner on Saturday night. The place was really crowded at 6:30! Checked in with the hostess who was very nice even though it was very busy. We went to the bar and waited a long time to get a drink, but the bartender was very nice he too was super busy. we ordered 2 martinis they were out of martini glasses so he used a wine glass, worked fine. we waited about an hour for our table when we went to pay our bar bill that sweet bartender said that there was no charge since we waited so long! so nice of him. Got our table, and the service was great! Enjoy our meal very much. Overall everything was better than we expected.

Yelp
I used to eat here a long time ago. Daughter wanted spaghetti so decided to go here since it's been a really long time since I've eaten here. Restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived so we got seated shortly after arrival. Entrees here come with a soup or salad, bread, and ice cream when you are done. Food here is just okay. I think one of the better things to try here is the garlic mizithra pasta.

Yelp
A classic establishment with great food and great service. If you're familiar with the menu you'll know you can find all your pasta needs at the old spaghetti factory. Prices are fair and you won't leave hungry.

Yelp
The food was good. We got mizythra as one does, and the bread was fresh and hot. Unfortunately that's where the good things ended. We got bullied into taking a table upstairs where we were promised "great service" at the host stand. Upstairs we were seated in a a room with a group of 40+ and eventually 3 other tables of 4. Upon sitting, we waited for almost 10 minutes to get a high chair. After ordering, pasta for the kid and an entree for us to split, the minestrone took another 10 minutes to arrive. The applesauce (kids side) was served at the same time, and thank god it was because we waited another 30 minutes for our food. Our son's pasta took another 15-20 to be delivered to the table. Yep, that's right, they took about an hour to get a kid's meal out-he was served last, not the best thing to do for a toddler. When the credit slip finally came back to my husband to sign, it was soaked beyond the ability to sign it and we had to wait for a reprinting. Sub par service, at least the spumoni was cold. Not sure I'll be coming back anytime soon.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years and it's always a great experience. Excellent food, good prices, friendly service and a fun atmosphere. Recently my daughter and I came here for a late night dinner and our waiter Muhammed, was great. Very accommodating and patient.

Yelp
so charming. Love the ambiance. The last time we went, I even got to sit in the train car. We love anything with the mizithra cheese and brown butter...so tasty. Staff accommodating and thorough. Always a yummy and consistent experience.

Yelp
It has been years since we have visited this place and let's just say it will be years again before we revisit it. It wasn't like we remembered it to be and the spaghetti has really gone downhill and the sauces lack flavor. We ordered a Potpourri and a Manager's Favorite and we were in shock when our order arrived. It was seriously like we had ordered from the kids menu. The portion you get for lunch is so small now. We should have suspected something was up when our Server asked if we wanted a lunch or dinner size and couldn't tell us the portion difference. Also, if you order the lunch size, you no longer get the ice cream for dessert like in the past. We remember in the past we couldn't finish our entire meal and would have to take our leftovers to go. We did also get some sides of one meatball, one sausage and a small broccoli which were decent. Unfortunately, our lunch was not worth the price point. The one thing we can compliment is the service was great.

Yelp
so my wife joan my 13 year old daughter and myself went there the other evening and it was a nice place the food was good but the service was a pedophile. no your not miss reading that when we got home my daughter said when she went the restroom one of the waitstaff hit on her. my daughter looks very grown for her age so i told her that because she looks like a adult this is bound to happen but when i asked her what she said she said the server name michael told her she was cute and asked for her number i asked her what she said and when she told me she said thank you but im only 13 this is what got me to look into it further because i guess he replied that's ok. i asked he what he looked like was he younger mabey he was one of the 16 or 17 year olds that work she said he was older dad like wayyyyyyy older i said like me old and when said ya "bet" thats kid slang for yes so i called the restruant and ask if the had a michael working the night i was there they told me yes but they cant give out info about employees. i hung up and called my familly member that worked as a member of law enforcement "retired" they told me since she was not touched or molested other than a crass remark and she did not mention it at the time of the incident there is nothing we could legally do but they would see if they could find anything out. they call me back a few days later and told me to go to megans list the sex offender site and look up michael mann so i did and this is what i found out there are two michael manns i printed the pictures and showed each picture to my daughter she asked me how did i get a picture of the waiter she thought i went down and snapped a photo i explained i didnt and the picture is public record. needless to say i will not be taking my family back to restruant that employs two time registered offenders its too bad because the food was good but i will not take my family to a place that hires creeps and puts them where they come in contact with the public ... shame on you old spaghetti factory put that guy out the door or at least washing dishes where hes not in contact with the public but i have provide the following info i hope it helps mann, michael mann if you believe a crime has been committed, please contact your local law enformement agency. known aliases mann, michael donald mann, michael mann, michael d description date of birth: 10/06/1986 gender: male height: 6'00" weight: 200 lbs eye color: green hair color: brown ethnicity: white offenses offense code: 288(a) description: lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age year of last conviction: 2008 year of last release: 2008 offense code: 314.1 description: indecent exposure with prior conviction for this offense year of last conviction: --- year of last release: --- the department of justice has no information about a subsequent felony incarceration for this registrant risk assessment score: 7 tool: static 99r year: 2023 to learn more about risk assessments, view our risk assessment page addresses last reported address: transient, san jose county: santa clara scars/marks/tattoos hand, right arm, left, nonspecific

Yelp
My co-worker girlfriends and I had a fun dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. I've been there many times with my hubby, family and friends, and always have a great experience. Some of my favorite dishes include the Mizithra Cheese & Brown Butter, Chicken Parmigiana, and the Pot Pourri. Each entree comes with fresh baked bread, soup or salad - I always go for the creamy pesto dressing, and scoop of their signature spumoni or vanilla ice cream to finish.

Yelp
The food was great. Our server was awesome. The only thing that irritated me was that they sat us under/by a tv other than that everything else was good.
