"Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is an expansive, bustling, German-inspired brewhouse with an eight-acre biergarten. The festive, family-friendly space, situated in the LoSo (Lower South End) district, is within walking district to other breweries and hot spots, making it the perfect focal point for an afternoon adventure. The offerings are almost exclusively German-style beers—no West Coast-style IPAs here. Fan favorites from the tap list include the Copper Altbier and the Captain Jack Pilsner and bratwurst from the food menu." - Lauren Levine

Ex-Grand Rapids, MI beer snob here? Actually was never much a beer fan at all until traveling to Germany and Japan. So, we go to OMB one night while in town for the George Straight concert just to get out…maybe it will be nice, right? This place ROCKS! The Biergarten was so huge and such a great atmosphere and the beer was absolutely killer! I suppose its age should be indicative of that! I’m not sure if I had a porter or a stout (see short glass in pics)…but…one of the BEST dark beers I have ever had (included: UK, Germany, Italy, and Japan). I am looking and cannot find it online and I want to try it again! Bonus: service was very sweet and entertainment so fun. Hope to be back again some day! :)

Great beer garden! It’s huge with plenty of space to sit and relax. The atmosphere is awesome — lively but also really comfortable. The beer was delicious, and they offer a smaller food menu just for the beer garden called the Garten’ Grille menu. I really enjoyed the doner kebab and the jumbo pretzel was perfect for sharing among three people. Highly recommend checking it out! 🍻

Wow. Largest brewery I’ve been to by far. Huge indoor area and even larger Biergarten. Friendly staff, delicious beer. Stopped in while making rounds collecting brewery stickers when visiting the area. Would definitely be back if back in the area again.

Recently stopped by for a late lunch on a late winter (early spring) day. We’ve been here at least a dozen times before. We’ve always had a good time. However, this time was exceptional! Our biggest criticism in the past was not with the establishment itself, but with some of the bartenders and servers. They always came off a little rude at times and a little less than focused on the customer. This visit seemed night and day. All of the young men we encountered on Thursday, March 13th were phenomenal! They appeared to truly care about our experience, made excellent recommendations, provided samplings of newer offerings without being asked, were conversational, and made us want to stay longer…and spend more money. They were genuine and kind and I didn’t see one of them on a cell phone! Bonus points! The kitchen staff performed above and beyond as well. We noticed that the menu had changed since our last visit and now offered some lighter and healthier options. NZ was pleased to find that there are now a variety of other drink options available now as well, besides beer and ciders. She considers herself an Aperol Spritz connoisseur because she, well, drinks a lot of them. She remarked how perfectly made hers were by the cheerful young man behind the bar. We got the Doner Kebob Bowl special and it was amazing. Everything was very fresh, flavorful, and served with care. The chicken was buttery soft, the rice perfect, and the accompanying salads and pickeled onions were devoured. Typically we come to OMB once or twice per year. We are now planning to return with friends and family soon, thanks to the vastly improved customer service we received and remarkable food items. The young men who worked there on that afternoon, both front and back of house should be commended.

Yolanda with Offline - Great service and good food. Had the Cobb salad which was large enough to share. My husband had the smash burger with fries. The fries were a bit too salty for my taste. Have been many times to hang out with friends but 1st time ever getting food. Will try again

Such a good brewery. The food was good, very German themed. I wish we’re were there on a warm day to experience the outdoor seating area! I will stop again on a nice day to sit outside. They have a large eating area. Lots of space and decent parking . I liked they had more than just beer in case you don’t like beer. German influence throughout the beers, decor and food.

We had such a great time visiting. We had walked around the neighborhood but this place caught her eye and glad that it didn't because it did not disappoint! We ended up getting some food items and being from a family that has lived in Germany, this food was great! We got cabbage, potato salad, and meatballs. We made some new friends and stayed longer than anticipated. Fun games, huge outdoor area, beautiful indoor area, well behaved pet friendly, lots of beer choices, nice employees. Definitely a place to visit.

The beer was top-notch, no doubt about it. The wings were amazing too—juicy on the inside, with perfectly crispy skin and no heavy breading. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful, and the music added to the chill vibe. It’s a great spot to hang out, and I absolutely loved the food."
