The Olde Post Inn

My husband and I have just visited The Olde Post Inn for the first time - what a lovely experience, we will definitely return. There is a welcoming ambience,staff from the restaurant manager, to servers and bar staff were very friendly and professional. The food was excellent - we chose the Valentines menu and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. We would highly recommend

It was my second time at the Olde Post Inn, and if it was possible was even better than the first one. The Service was impeccable with a great touch of Irish Kindness. The meal were absolutely amazing, I specially enjoyed the Scallops on top on a Black Pudding, the Venison and the selection of cheese. Good selection of Wine. The only disappointing is with the Michelin guys, you should give a Star ASAP.

Likely one of the best meals (dinner and breakfast) that I have ever had - and that is saying something. From the quaint sitting room where guests are first greeted and get to peruse the menu over an aperitif, to the rustic but sophisticated main dining room and welcoming spacious guest rooms, this place has it all. The wine list is impressive and the quality of the food is superb and it was worth every cent and more! We travelled extensively throughout our trip and this was by far my favourite spot. Highly recommended.

I can’t speak highly enough of the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable, going above and beyond to ensure every guest felt valued and comfortable. The menu is a true haven for anyone with dietary restrictions, especially those with Coeliac disease. The staff was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable about gluten-free options, giving me complete confidence in their food preparation. They took extra care to explain which dishes were safe and even offered alternative suggestions without any prompting. As for the food—simply outstanding! Every dish was bursting with flavor and presented beautifully, with a noticeable emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients. The gluten-free options didn’t feel like an afterthought; they were crafted with the same attention and creativity as the rest of the menu, a rarity in many restaurants. For anyone looking for a place that pairs exceptional service with a genuine commitment to dietary inclusivity, the Old Post Inn is a must-visit. I left feeling truly satisfied and cared for, which is a testament to both their cuisine and customer-first approach. Highly recommended!

Perfect stay for our 50th anniversary. Excellent food, cozy and quiet room, helpful and friendly staff. Really, we couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate. Visitors should take the time to enjoy the grounds, weather permitting, and definitely enjoy all the art throughout.

Special occasions, family reunions, even the odd evening ‘dîner à deux’ now the nest is empty. Always reliable, honest produce prepared with care and respect for natural flavours but enhanced, as appropriate, to enrich the adventure for one’s tastebuds. ||||All the staff always friendly, efficient and discretely attentive from the first hello to the last thank you, safe home. A privilege to enjoy the calm of such a warm, rich, select dining experience away from indifferent towns and cities - a rare find.
