"The O’Neill Pub, formerly known as Biddy McGraw’s Irish Pub, closed unexpectedly this month. The pub, a well-loved Irish venue, faced rumors about rent increases and missed payments before its closure. The owners had missed three monthly rent payments and were let out of the lease early without repercussions." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Haven't tried the food here but I looked at a menu. Standard pub fare. This is a true neighborhood bar. Pool tables, video games, and video poker are all there. I highly recommend this bar for having a drink with a friend or friends. I took my wife there and she loved it

Irish liberation decor, great music, even better food and drinks.

Great neighborhood bar. The food is pretty good and the drinks are reasonably priced. The atmosphere is what one would want from a hangout spot, good energy but not manic. At nights they usually have a live band playing. Their brunches are quiet and yummy, and I suspect are good hangover food.

Heard the most fantastic Elvis Costello cover band here, "This Year's Model." We had a fun night here, will be back for more beer and music!

It was early happy hour so the place was quiet, which is what I was looking for. 2 Sessions Negra and a split slider app at half price for about 10 bucks and I was good to go. Bartender was friendly and the service was fast. Music wasn't bad either, though it was a tad low - time of day and vibe not withstanding. Overall, great experience. Recommended.

First off, best bartenders in Portland. No frills, no BS. They run a smooth set-up. I have been coming here for 9 years. They are good about remembering their regulars and treating them well. However, if you come in here acting like a douche canoe, they aren't going to tolerate it. The menu is great, but not every cook is good. No matter what, the fries and Irish fondue are always on point.

Interesting Irish themed public house with a variety of seating. bartender was accommodating and the drinks were good. The food was OK at best. Tasted like the fryer oil hadn't been changed in months. Lots of Irish staples here as well

I so want to give O’Neils a good review, but I just can’t do it. 3 Stars is being very generous. While the pricing was good, my egg rolls were flavorless as well as the salad. But my bigger complaint, is that I have seen no sign suggesting that you have to go to the bar for service and had the bartender look straight at me as well as another fella working there and neither said anything. I had to grab my own menu and then finally asked if I was supposed to order at the bar. The finishing touch, no further interaction. Didn’t check to see if everything was okay or if I wanted anything else. Oh, and it was obvious regulars got treated much better. I could choose to be a regular as it is right on my bus line, and anyone who knows me knows I tip extremely well. Their loss.
