We had an awesome experience! I’m not vegan but I enjoyed the food so much! Everything was so tasty, the menu was broad and they had many options that I wanted to try! The service was good and there was even a singer songwriter performing in just the right volume that allows conversation.

Google
The food was SO good. Definitely recommend the omlette. And the bowl was full of hearty veggies. It was so hard to choose just a couple of things from the menu! Can't wait to come back.

There's a lot of good vegan options in this neighborhood, but this is definitely worth a trip. The Mac & cheese balls were really delicious, maybe the best of that kind of dish I've had. The fried oyster mushroom sandwich was also good, though it could have maybe used some more veggies. My partner loved her risotto. We also got dessert and the cheesecake was great. The service was slightly slow - it was Friday evening - but really friendly. Prices are typical for the Village. They had wine and beer but those prices were really very high. They had a great tea selection with nice presentation. One unexpected benefit was some really lovely live music, which they have several times per week.

If I had to choose one meal to eat for the rest of my life, it would be OG's Green Machine Burger - top notch, umami mushroom flavors in the base paired with house made cheese, pesto, guacamole on a potato bun makes this literal perfection! The entire OG menu is spectacular, organic, house made, vegan with many gluten free, nut free and soy free options. If you're in NYC, definitely make a stop at the OG!

Google
This is the IT place for vegan food in the city! Everything from the loaded fries to the cookies and cream cheesecake was delicious. By the end of my lunch, my tummy was full and my plates were locked clean. Maris was very sweet and made our experience all the better. I cannot stress enough how SCRUMPTIOUS everything was. Coming back here every day for the rest of my life!

Google
How did I only discover this place now!? The food tasted so great and the flavor make it feels like having a homemade meal at someone's home. The specials apparently vary every week. We had stuffed roasted acorn and chili (lentils) from the specials menu and the oyster mushroom OG tender from the regular menu. All were super delicious. Also had the refined sugar free raspberry chocolate cheesecake which was AMAZING! Could tell they use high quality ingredients. The owner talked to us and is very passionate about sticking to using organic and quality food. Highly recommend! We've had their special thanksgiving catering which complemented the whole meal super well. Also have visited the new location at West Village and the food was super yummy as usual. The dining setting is much nicer than the East Village location.

Google
We found this place through Google reviews. We are only in town for 5 days and we were so impressed we will make the trip back for another meal. We had cauliflower pops, the Portobello special as well as chocolate avocado cake and carrot cake, all excellent. The bonus was the live music by Matt Basile!

Google
Had the most amazing Valentine's dinner there with my husband- every dish beautifully prepared, served with love and care /lovely service and soooo delicious! My husband had the lasagna and I had the risotto on tonight's prix fixe for two. And there was live music (very cozy) . Highly recommend even if you're not vegan it's so yummy!

Yelp
Maybe the best restaurants I ever been to, great food. Can't believe it, I really wish I had another opportunity to dine here. Fingers crossed

Michelle L.

Yelp
Had an absolutely amazing meal and wish I lived here so I could try the whole menu. We ordered the Reuben bites which were absolutely delicious, the cauliflower bites with buffalo sauce are also fabulous!! We tried the spicy black bean burger which is served with a pickle and sauerkraut which was great. We ordered the chocolate lava cake which was delicious as well. Would love to come back and try more things. There is a $20 per person minimum but that is easy to make.

Yelp
Amazing Green Machine burger! Stumbled into here with my partner after a movie across the street and we had the best veggie meal here. The burger was a mushroom moist patty that was delicious and addicting. The fries were a bit meh but the delicious burger made up for it. My partner got a veggie omelette and the garlic sauce that accompanied the omelette was so delectable/creamy! I'll need to come back to try their desserts, tea selection, and more food items. In terms of service, it was overall really good. They forgot my burger initially but it came up in the next 5-10 minutes, restaurants make mistakes too. Overall quality of the food made up for it. Ambiance: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Service: 5/5

Yelp
3.5 stars- 3 from me (meat eater) 4 stars from my vegan guest 4.5 stars for service and ambiance Cozy and quaint in the village but won't rush you and not quite as cramped as nearby spots. I dined here with a vegan friend who really enjoyed the food and the fresh kombucha. I thought the food was just okay, with the notable exception that all the produce was VERY FRESH AND TASTY. Best guac, pico de gallo on the loaded nachos and thr strawberries and apples that accompanied my main dish and dessert were so fresh and to the perfect ripeness. I wish they just had basic fruit salad or a mexican salad on their menu. The loaded nachos were good but not all the potatoes were cooked all the way through :/ My friend loved his burger! Tasted great but I witnessed it fall apart halfway through eating due to the texture. My OG slamcakes upgraded with banana and chocolate chips were honestly just bland!!! But they tasted fine w the syrup and whipped cream accompaniment. I think you really need to know what to order here. It is a bit pricey but if you factor in the location (right next to the Blue Note and across the street from the Fat Cat comedy club) you can understand why. I may be back but I would seriously alter my ordering to focus more on their produce!

Yelp
A friend recommended this place and spoke highly of the food. Our experience here overall though was pretty disappointing. We came on a winter night, and found the place to be insufficiently heated. The front of house is pretty small, and the front door let in a ton of cold air each time someone entered or exited. Multiple tables had people seated with their winter gear on, myself included. They have live entertainment, which is night, but does not really work for the tiny space. The night we went, there was a band that was much, much too loud. Microphones and a speaker system was not necessary for such a small space, but they had them nonetheless; this made conversation nearly impossible. The service was painfully slow; appetizers took about an hour, and entrees took another 30 minutes after that. We had the loaded fries and cauliflower, both tasty. My entree of the Philly cheesesteak sandwich was a huge disappointment though; it was overly runny/saucy, like they had poured soup onto the bread, and was completely impossible to eat without deconstructing it and even then, it was a huge mess.

Yelp
Got to check out Organic Grill the weekend before they closed down. The OG burger and steak fries were very good. I just didn't appreciate the fact that you couldn't substitute anything on the burger for something else. However, the blue cheese on the original OG burger turned out to be delicious.

Yelp
Everything was great. Watermelon Salad, Kung Pao Cauliflower, Dos Tacos and Shawarma all really good. Just go to the O.G.!

Jon Z.

Yelp
We finally made it to Organic Grill on West 3rd St NYC. Such a nice dining experience. Vlad is a lovely host. Food is delicious! We started with Kung Pao Cauliflower Pops and Watermelon Salad, both were outstanding . Dos Tacos were great as well. Shawarma entree was "lick your plate clean" fabulous. Glass of Cabernet and Cold German Pilsner were a great compliment to our meal. All in: Everyone in NYC should eat @ The O.G.! You won't be disappointed.

Eunice V.

Yelp
The Organic Grill was excellent and so delicious! The food was 10 out of 10 . I have no complaints. I came to NY to ride the TDFiveBoro BikeTour and looked up Vegan Restaurants and TOG was one of the choices and I'm so GLAD I went with this choice because there's nothing I regret about it. LOVE it. I highly recommended this place!

Yelp
My visit to Organic Grill was a complete letdown from start to finish. I had heard decent things about this place, but my experience couldn't have been further from satisfactory. the manager or waiter was incredibly rude and pushy to both me and my partner. He constantly pressured us to order quickly and spoke to us disrespectfully. At one point, my partner asked for something that wasn't on the menu but was on the online menu, and he responded disrespectfully. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and I expect better service from a restaurant. Let's move on to the food, my partner ordered the supposedly spicy black bean burger, expecting a fresh and flavorful dish. What she got instead was a sad excuse for a burger lacked seasoning and depth. I had a really disappointing experience at the restaurant. The chicken sandwich I ordered was bland and lacked seasoning, and even the side of roasted Yukon potatoes wasn't cooked properly and tasted terrible.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place in my quest for healthier dining options. It's a charming spot, not overly crowded, and it seems like the majority of patrons prefer takeout. The added bonus of live tunes on the side creates a laid-back atmosphere that adds to the overall experience. Now, faced with the delightful dilemma of choosing between a burger and a bowl, I decided on both. I'm not vegan and don't have any dietary restrictions, but I love flavors. The burger caught me by surprise, boasting a crispy exterior and a juicy interior that truly hit the mark. The flavor was a delightful balance, and the addition of creamy avocados added an extra layer of richness to the experience. The Kung Pao bowl delivered with its wonderfully crispy rice, and the three Kung Pao-flavored cauliflowers provided a flavorful twist. Although a bit more cauliflower in the bowl would have been appreciated for a more fulfilling experience. With tips and taxes, the total for both items came to around $50, which was definitely on the pricier side.Ambiance: 10/10 Taste: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Value for money: 7/10

Yelp
Amazing experience here. The staff is friendly. The menu is so interesting and flavorful. And the live music was spectacular!

Dan G.

Yelp
Absolutely the best vegan spot my wife and I have eaten at. All in-house made burgers are delicious, philly-cheese sandwich, cheese plate and the desert is amazing. All vegans try this place. Great service and friendly. The live music was wonderful too.

Allison D.

Yelp
We found this place thanks to Google, on our way to see a show. The food was incredible. The owner is charming. The ambiance was great. It's a small place and there was a vocalist with a guitar tonight. Highly recommend!

Cecilia K.

Yelp
Didn't get time to take a picture of the food because we were so hungry and it was so delicious. We ordered the hash brown burger and the OG burger. Neither disappointed. Service was amazing on a Saturday and there was live music playing which added to ambiance. Would definitely recommend stopping here if you have the chance.

Gavin M.

Yelp
From presentation to taste I give this place 5 stars! The service here is great as well, and it has a calm ambiance. If you are vegan and live near, you should definitely go!

Gwyneth D.

Yelp
Fast, friendly service and amazing vegan food. Breakfast all day, too! Right next to the Blue Note

Caroline K.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots. Delicious food, wonderful owner, 10/10 recommend!! Squash bowl with the mushroom patty is to die for. So much goodness in one bowl!

Roseann M.

Yelp
The new space on W. 3rd St. is so much lovelier than you would guess from the outside! It's cozy, warm and inviting, and I love that they have live music most nights. The food is lovingly made and so delicious! Some of my go-tos are the cheese plate (they make their own cashew cheese, and it's so good), the Triple J Pulled Jackfruit Sandwich, the Original OG Burger with added Spirulina Cashew Cheese, the Kung Pao Cauliflower Pops, the Mac & Cheese Pops, and the cornbread. I keep meaning to try their bowls, but I always get pulled back into their comfort food! I'm so glad they moved to a location that's much easier for me to get to and are continuing to make their delicious vegan food.

Natalie N.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, wonderful playlist, the Philly cheese steak sandwich was delicious, the host Cat was so friendly and made the dining experience that much more enjoyable! She was quick to check in and clear dishes. Would come back again!

Cristina A.

Yelp
We walked in around 6 on a Tuesday and were seated immediately. The food was served quickly and tasted delicious! Server was sweet. BONUS: live music made the experience all the better!

Hilary E.

Yelp
My partner and I absolutely loved this restaurant! We had the most amazing brunch here. The staff was beyond friendly and wonderful and the food was so inventive, fresh and flavorful. Can't wait to go back!

Wei Ji M.

Yelp
Post-pandemic a new location on W 3rd St. More modern decor and now with AC, but the same reliable vegan comfort food. We had the buffalo cauliflower bites, the Green Machine burger, the romaine salad, the Green Melt (tempeh), and two desserts. Everything was excellent and we'll certainly be back!

Rachael M.

Yelp
I've now been here twice for dinner and love it! We got the OG Dragon Bowl, the Green Dragon Bowl, and the Green Melt sandwich. I loved my OG dragon bowl - filled with nourishing and satisfying ingredients, it was perfect for a winter night. The lemon tahini sauce was light and tangy, and I loved that they served it on the side so I could choose how much I wanted. The others loved their dishes as well! Everything was plated so beautifully and the portion sizes are good. Next...dessert! The cookies and cream cheesecake was excellent. I've gotten the chocolate cake (baked) before and was sad it wasn't on the menu this time. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
From its unassuming facade on 3rd Street just East of 6th Avenue, who would have expected such a bounty of beautifully prepared gourmet vegetarian offerings? The savory seasoning, textural variety and presentation of the dishes, not to mention all the healthy organic ingredients, provided one of the happiest dining experiences I've had in a long time. I had the Veggie Squash Bowl topped with a mushroom burger, a bowl that included squash, avocado, carrots, broccoli. My friend had the Green Earth Bowl, another richly varied dish whose diverse textures and flavors never stopped pleasing. The food also sits very well in one's stomach: At meal's end my friend and I both felt very satisfied without any of the bloating or heaviness that can accompany dining out. Organic Grill now stands as one of my favorite restaurants in the Big Apple and I look forward to many return visits.

Naomi B.

Yelp
The food is excellent. We have been here twice for lunch and once for dinner. Everything on the menu is next level great. All vegan and so creatively made. We highly recommend.

Tatia G.

Yelp
I was so excited to walk by and see a vegan place with cakes through the window, walked in as I had just left my job so was holding couple bags, big coat and a hat. When I walked in nobody greeted me but what I can assume was either owner, or a manager who was at the only one table they had, taking their order could 't stop staring at me as if I had something on my face, or didn't belong there. He didn't mind his business to keep talking to his table, looked at me 3 times and asked me, When there was clearly a person at the counter where the cakes were and I was headed there. He stopped me and asked me "CAN I HELP YOU?" And I got confused, why such attitude?! responded "is it alright if I grab a slice of cake?" "Why are you looking at me like I don't belong here". He said no go ahead. And I just turned back out and said no thanx. Really bad attitude and unwelcoming. Will never step a foot in there again, even though I am a vegan and work nearby. RUDE!

Yelp
Orgasmic!!! On the specials, this is the jackfruit gyro. Best gyro I ever had! The tzatziki is right on point. Did I mention the incredible Boston Cream cake? A must! So happy to have this restaurant now in the West Village. A real bonus to the neighborhood. I must tell you their omelettes with their homemade cheese is outstanding!#whatveganseat #howvegansroll #veganfood #veganrestaurant #gyro #jackffuit #tzatziki #fermentedsauerkraut #kombucha #probiotics #prebiotics #fiber #nyc #westvillage #washingtonsquarepark #nyu

Yelp
Yea, we've been going here for years. Always enjoy the great food and service. Highly recommend for a great healthy meal.

Aslesha P.

Yelp
Got the Mac & cheese bombs, which were great to share, and the OGicken sandwich. The Mac & cheese bombs tasted exactly like mac & cheese but lighter. The sandwich was also great - the portion size was perfect and the sandwich was easy to eat. The sandwich also had "og" grilled on the top of the bun, which was cool. The service was good as well, and I was able to get a table for a small group on a Friday night without a reservation, which is a rarity in Manhattan.

Throneny S.

Yelp
We had dinner at Organic Grill and it was amazing. the Green Machine Burger was so delicious i cant stop thinking about it. Amazing food, excellent Service and overall a super experience.

Rabbi Samuel S.

Yelp
We had a terrific kosher vegan meal last night after seeing a Broadway show. The service was excellent. I had the corn soup and my wife had the roast fenil and pear soap. Both were delicious. For our entree, I had the pulled mushroom taco and my wife had a veggie burrito and we both had tempeh bacon on the side. The desert was terrific. The presentation of the food was artistic. I highlly recomment this restaurant for all vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters. Rabbi Samuel Steinberg, Congregation OM ShalOM, Staten Island, New York

Yelp
LOVED the pumpkin smashcakes! Hands down the best pancakes I've ever had--including the ones containing gluten! Lovely atmosphere and great service!

Suzanne T.

Yelp
I just attended an event and Organic Grill catered appetizers and cookies. The empanadas were more of a puff pastry and incredibly good. They were crisp and beautiful and held up on the buffet table. We also had a "pigs in a blanket" style appetizer with tempeh that was fantastic. Everything is homemade with fresh ingredients. Their chocolate chocolate and chocolate chip gluten-free cookies were also excellent. I'm not sure if the oatmeal cookies were gluten-free as well, but also delicious. I would definitely have them cater an event in the future. Vegans and omnis will not be disappointed. I've eaten at the restaurant a bunch too, but this makes me want to go back asap.

Janace B.

Yelp
This is great little vegan spot in the west village. I got the squash bowl with the mushroom burger. It was so full of flavor and so fresh. There are so many great options it was hard to choose The service was great. I will be going back.

Yelp
At the job I was working at this desk most days out the week as a bodyguard for red hair albinos. I ate mostly plant base at this job. Organic grill delivered my food on time always fresh never been in a weird experience with the employees here. When I finally walked in this location it was pretty darn clean and organized.

Christine H.

Yelp
Top notch vegan food, including not often found favorite comfort dishes vegani ed. I wish they delivered!

Luna E.

Yelp
this restaurant makes me wish I was rich just so I could buy all the food The "Cheez Whiz" Philly cheesesteak was an absolute delight i could write songs about those flavors it melted in our mouths and brought us to new depths of life it was that good The Kung Pao Bowl was my personal favorite it was so unique the pairing of the turmeric rice and it came together beautifully its a lighter option and I kept wanting more The restaurant is adorable inside and the owner (I think) was very accommodating and friendly. The fact that it's all organic is incredible and mind-blowing!! I absolutely love their mission and respect how hard it must be to make all products organic. This is a restaurant that truly cares about its consumers. if anyone wants to Venmo me money for it, feel free:madisonwoysh

Yelp
Great vegan restaurant next to the Blue Note. Heart of the Village. I will come back.

Yelp
In his novel "Setting Free The Bears," John Irving writes: "Be blissfully guided by the veritable urge." I popped in here on a whim this evening, and after scanning the menu, decided on the omelette of the day. This is a fluffy, flavorful pillow packed with an array of vegetables: arugula, broccoli, shredded carrots, cabbage, corn...let's do the alphabet, shall we? Better than egg, in my opinion, because no chickens were killed or even abused. The vegan cheeze was melty, savory, and not overwhelming. I've had their food over the years--the first time, my partner and I happened in one Thanksgiving when most other places were closed. We hadn't been able to get a reservation at Angelica's that year, so I had the roast kabocha squash here with sides and gravy. And yes, I was thankful; kabocha is a squash that doesn't have to pretend to be anything. I've had their burger branded with "OG" at Vegan Shop-Up events, and I have to say it's one of the best vegan burgers around. Everything here is expertly done; I didn't stay for dessert this time because I honestly didn't have room for it. I'm just happy I made the snap decision to go here this evening, and I'm sure I'll be back soon.

Izolda T.

Yelp
Such a great place. I adore everything I've ever eaten there. The owners, Vlad and Olga, are fantastic. It's a lovely spot in the West Village. The Green Monster burger is like nothing you've ever tasted. Scrumptious. My usual order nowadays is the loaded fries. Cheese, guac, salsa over well-roasted potatoes. And then cannolis (chocolate covered) for dessert. And a lot of the menu items are gluten-free. Fantastic!

Makai B.

Yelp
Im giving this place 2 stars because the food is good but the service left a bad taste in my mouth. My partner and I entered the building and told the gentleman we reserved a table for two. He looked at us as if he was confused, and asked us if we had a reservation to eat here after we just told him we did. As we were seated he continues to ask us how we found out about the restaurant, as if to insinuate we were out of place being there. I definitely feel like it was because we're black. He didn't seem to ask these same questions to the next group that entered and that reaffirmed my suspicions Throughout our entire time being there, the micro aggressive behavior was really off putting. For example, when we told him we were done eating, I asked for a container so I could take the rest of my food home. He proceeds to bring me a container with no bag, as if I was supposed to carry the container in my hand all the way home?? And when I asked him for a bag, he seemed as if I inconvenienced him. He didn't even hand me the bag, he walked around the table and placed the bag onto the bench and then hurried off. Finally, after handing him a card to pay for our food, he comes back and plops it onto the table instead of handing it back to one of us. Really disappointed with the service here and I hope the staff can be retrained on how to give proper customer service

Deanna L.

Yelp
So many options and all delicious! My parents (both omnivores) and I (vegetarian/vegan) absolutely loved what we all ordered! The atmosphere was very cozy and there was live music playing. I would definitely recommend and will be coming back again--I cannot stop thinking about the tempeh bacon!

Jimmy B.

Yelp
An absolute work of magic this food is. By far the best vegan food I've had in my 6 years of being vegan. Try the Mac bombs. I'm not exaggerating that your mouth will explode with cheesy goodness. If you're feeling deprived on a vegan diet, come here. You will be amazed at how delicious vegan cuisine can be. And the service is top notch. Vlad treated me like an old friend even though I just came in.

Hallie F.

Yelp
So delicious, and such a lovely, friendly spot! Everything I've tried (Green Earth bowl, salads, Green Machine Burger) is all excellent. So glad to have this in the neighborhood, especially since it's family-owned and run (rarer and rarer these days!). Definitely worth a visit.

Eliza R.

Yelp
It was delicious & made my entire trip! Service was excellent and everyone is so kind. Beautiful & clean looking restaurant. Thank you! Can't wait to come back again.

Chan L.

Yelp
The Organic Grill OVERALL: 7.8/10 This was my first time trying vegan food so I feel like my review wouldn't be that trust worthy but this place was dopeeee. FOOD: 7.8/10 The food was GREAT, I didn't know that vegan food can taste so good. My chicken and waffles was made of what I believed to be mushroom and the waffles made with some sort of fruit. It was sooo delicious, and I felt SOOO light after altho I was full. I wouldn't mind having again. Only thing is vegan food is EXPENSIVE! ! THAT DISH WAS LIKE $20 OR SOMETHING. SERVICE: 8.1/10 From what I remember, service was pretty alright. CLEANLINESS: 10/10 Clean ATMOSPHERE: 8.6/10 Food was so healthy I felt like a vegan guru inside, with all the other healthy people. The place is PACKED and seating is kind of tight which was the only negative of the place. #vegan #foodporn #nofilter #throwbackthursday #yelp #review

Yelp
Utterly amazing to feel good after a deliciouso lunch with friends, a moment for a bite that seemed a "wow factor" for my tummy to come again! A trusted place to eat and extremely inviting.
