Updated review from April 2, 2019: I've had to reduce the 5-star rating that I had previously given this spot after today's experience. My colleague and I went here for an early dinner after work. She was excited because I raved about this place. I was disappointed, as was she. We parked in the back and went to the door with the restaurant's name. I pulled the handle only to see that we would've been entering the kitchen. We quickly closed the door and went around the front. Upon entering, the lone waitress informed us that their system was down and they could only accept cash payments. As luck would have it, we both had cash, so that worked perfectly.
We seated ourselves after receiving menus from the bar. We waited a bit before realizing that we needed to place our orders at the bar. We both ordered combos which come with drinks. We headed over to the machine only to find that most of the options were unavailable. When the food came out, everything was just okay.
I'm not sure what changed in the last month or so, but I'm hoping they revert to the experience that I had the first time around. We didn't get receipts, the food was average, when asked about the back door, we were told if you come in that way, you can exit that way. We asked why it wasn't locked and were told that they're pretty lenient during the day. I guess I was expecting the same level of service that we got the last time, but that wasn't the case today.
I do have two good takeaways. One, they do validate parking. If you park in the public lot behind the building, ask for a validation card and you'll get one. It didn't cover the entire fee to park, so be mindful of that. Second, the food looked good. Even though it was just okay this time around, both orders looked appetizing.
I checked this spot out yesterday and was pleased! They have a robust selection of dogs from which to choose, including plant based options. Their drink menu is coyly named and appropriately priced. The three of us had the San Francisco dog w/beyond meat Italian sausage, the Boston dog w/onion rings, and the Texas rodeo dog. We devoured them all! To drink, we had the party on piedmont, which was a smooth mix, and the ATLien, which was also good.
I can see heading back to this spot during the summer months to post up on their patio. I'd definitely recommend this location for casual dining with friends, family, or whomever!
Our server, Dean, was knowledgeable about the menu and gave great suggestions. His service was impeccable. The food came out promptly and was prepared to our soecific
