The 14 Best Hot Dogs In Atlanta

"When you’re downtown, hit The Original Hot Dog Factory for their unmatched selection of more than 25 varieties—plus a build-your-own option. When we want to pretend we’re on an episode of Hot Ones, we snag the Fire Dog with jalapeños, sport peppers, and crunchy Flamin’ Hot Cheetos all doused with hot sauce. But the classics are solid, too. There are mostly GSU students inside at the bar or outside on the turfed patio, but we don’t mind a little Panther pride nor that the dogs are slightly overcooked since they are covered with enough toppings to make you forget the inconvenience." - juli horsford, demarco williams

10 STARS- Service/ Hospitality: Every single person working was friendly. You could tell they liked their jobs and they were a good time! The cook was a good dude, gave us some great advice for the city! Dogs were BOMB, sweet potato fries and onion rings were SMASHING! Drink selection was nice. We were there on a Tuesday and their special was buy a combo, get a dog free.

Google
We went to that hot dog restaurant yesterday, it was really delicious! The aroma of hot dogs made me drool, and every bite made me feel the joy of delicious food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also very good, and the waiters are very friendly, making us feel very comfortable. In short, this was a very enjoyable dining experience, and I can't wait to go again!

Google
I came here because I really like hot dogs, and was excited to see a dedicated hot dog restaurant! I came in pretty early and was one of the few people in the place, so I went up to the bar and Jazzman took my order, told me I could sit wherever I wish, and my order would be brought to me. The place was very comfortable and had a laid back atmosphere. I got a build-your-own hotdog with just ketchup, and then I got the Augusta cheese dog. The service was awesome, Jazzman was very nice! The food was awesome, too. I got the regular hot dog to see what the hot dog would taste like on its own, and it was delicious. The August cheese dog had pimento cheese and bacon bits, and was a little messy, but it was an amazing combination. I would definitely come back to this location or a different location to try more of their menu!

Several of the Restaurants I support I find on Groupon lol ...This was one was not expecting a FULL BAR, Happy Hour Menu, TVs and more...Definitely a safe different spot to have a Day party or mix and mingle! I believe it's a DJ on the weekend, At a Hotdog Spot ..The Chicago Dog was good it's the only one I've tried the cocktails were ok not bad for the price ...staff was friendly I Normally check out the bathroom that's my thing not this time ...I've gone back several times since....Try it pleasant surprise 😮

Google
HOT DIGGITY DOG! THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE WIENER! Frankly I can admit to this because I've been chased, bitten and I can't stop coming back because these dogs took over my mind. A great variety with great taste and a great attitude. Beyond Hotdogs and Burgers WHAT! Stop Playing Dog

Google
They had one job.. one job... for a place called the Original Hot Dog Factory, you would think it would be at least decent. You will find a better hot dog at a 7-11 at 2am, than here. Add a long wait and you have a perfect combo of bad. Server was kind and great though.

Google
Food was delicious! Service was great! The restrooms not so hot, but the food and services made up for it. Dennis was in the building so he replace my husband hot dog because it was a little to cooked. Great job! I would definitely return. Bringing my cousin when they come to visit

Google
I've gone to both locations at Georgia State and Southlake mall. My favorite so far has been the Hawaiian Dog which was mainly savory for me. Sweet potato fries are my go to and they add the sweetness that the pineapples didn't give me. Nonetheless it was banging! The fried Oreos get a chef's kiss. The Jamaican Jerk on the other hand was a disaster for me. The first one had bits of burnt Jamaican seasoning which deadened my taste buds. I sent it back and got a fresh one but all I could taste was spicy and could barely eat it. It's not for me.

Yelp
Really nice, high quality hot dogs at a fair price, with a really wide variety of offerings. Toppings were all excellent as well. Lots of TVs and a bar space and near the college. This should be a hot spot for college students but it was nearly empty for reasons I can't fathom. I really enjoyed my meal here and so did my youngest son. J.Ja

Yelp
It was National Hot Dog day and I fell for the hype and came here. A huge waste of almost $20. If this is the Original Hot dog factory, give me the imposter any time. I had the Carolina Slaw Dog and by the time I took one bite, the entire soggy bun had fallen apart and I had cole slaw and mustard down the front of my shirt. I went with the Combo ($8) and the fries were so cold. I probably should have know they would be cold as she gave me my order less than 5 minutes after I placed it and there was no way those were going to be hot fresh fries. I also had the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Dog ($7). The Jerk Sauce was cold as if someone had just taken it out the refrigerator and squirted it on the dog. I threw the entire thing away after one bite. There was three young ladies working the afternoon I went in, and they were way more interested in chatting amongst themselves than they were in paying attention to the three paying customers they had in the restaurant. I mean I know it doesn't take much energy to sell hot dogs, but from the time I went in to the time I left, they spent the biggest majority of the time comparing vacation plans and talking about the cleaning lady that had popped up to view the property. Save yourself $20 and go buy hot dogs from the grocery store and prepare them at home.

Yelp
I'm here in Georgia visiting my family for a couple of weeks and I've been looking forward to visiting The Original Hot Dog Factory (any location). Upon our arrival I was very excited and appreciated the outdoor seating that was available as we headed towards the entrance of the building. We entered the establishment I instantly noticed a lot of TLC had not went into this place today; the inside wasn't very clean. We sat down and we were greeted by the server and at that time my sister requested 2 high chairs. He was polite and immediately grabbed us 2 high chairs and brought them to the table where we were seated. I hate to be a fuss and complain when dining out but I am always going to be honest about my experience...the high chairs were fairly dirty, more than you would expect for communal used high chairs. I can tell they hadn't been used in some time but I mean, really!! I decided to just let my son sit in a regular chair. When the server returned he kindly asked if we were ready to order, we informed him that we were ready. We ordered food for the kiddos and it came out in a decent amount of time. When my son food arrived his French fries were old, burnt and oily (as you can see in the photo) but the hot dog was fine. The other kid meal had fries as well and definitely had a different look to them (refer to the 3rd picture I shared). Unfortunately, the drinks were not good. So my sister and I decided to let the kids eat their food and we agreed to dine somewhere else. I'm really saddened and disappointed that this was my 1st timer experience at The Original Hot Dog Factory!Maybe in the future I can try a different location and the experience be much different.

Yelp
To be honest, I can make a better hotdog at home, however I was eager to try them out especially since it was for a Yelp Event. The main issue was the taste. I ordered the Pimento cheese dog and a Detroit dog with fries. The pimento cheese dog was surprisingly my least favorite, and I love pimento cheese. I'm not sure if the pimento cheese is made in house or from a can, but it ruined the taste of the hotdog. The pimento cheese had a sweet yet kinda bitter after- taste and just didn't taste fresh at all. The Detroit dog was better in comparison but you realize the actual hot dog is not the best quality. I usually buy Hebrew National and that could be the reason for my review. Fries were meh, as I could taste the type of oil they use. The restaurant does have a nice location near GSU and a large patio. Inside there is a bar and they play Afro beats. I can see this place being a nice hit for students but with Hot Dog Pete's also near GSU campus in Summerhill, the taste doesn't add up. I think it's just cheaper ingredients. Service was great and the overall vibe is super chill but I just wasn't impressed by the food especially with a name like "The original". That holds some weight.

Yelp
Came here a few years ago from seeing it on atl housewives. The food was pretty good. So was the customer service. I would eat here again.

Yelp
Chill spot. Kid friendly Server was great! Staff was polite and welcoming. Food was good!! I got the jerk chicken dog. It definitely has a kick to it, but it was delicious. My cousins got the Chicago, Detroit, and L.A. dogs. The kids got the basics plain hot dog and corn dog each with fries. Everyone was happy. They have a full bar but the lemonade was a hit. We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
Visited with a friend, she really wanted to try them. Clean spot & Chad was great with his customer service... A1. She had a hot & spicy dog. She didn't like it. I ordered Jamaican Jerk Chicken Dog Combo & I liked it. Chicken sausage link, with pineapples & jerk sauce & the fries were HOT! NO seasoning on the fries ... eh.

Yelp
Very cool and fun area near University of Georgia. Great to find while visiting Atlanta

Yelp
The fried Oreos were really good and the surf & turf hot dog hit pretty well. I love the food court and the music was dope. They had a live DJ. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Yelp
I came to this location as part of a Yelp Event but also purchased a hot dog for my little girl who said it's one of her favorites. This place also has a bar and outdoor seating to watch the traffic on Piedmont pass through, or be seen as you like it. Convenient parking in the rear (free for 30 minutes...so make it a to go order if you are in a rush).
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
Don't use the ketchup. I think it went bad. It tasted fermented. Otherwise it was good but there was no ice in the soda fountain. The food tastes good. My daughter loved her dog!!! There is a variety of beer on tap, but I didn't get any this trip. The soda machine has lots of choices. Service was great! Super nice!
google avatar

Samavi A.

Yelp
Came here for a Yelp event! Very cool spot for some easy casual eats. Their menu had a wide variety of hot dogs! It was nice that you also had a choice of the type of meat in the hot dog as well (beef, chicken, etc.). I tried the surf and turf which had crab meat. It was pretty good and unique way of having a hot dog. Very fun place to try different styles of hot dogs!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious fries and Hot dog. The Memphis is wrapped in bacon with BBQ sauce and onions. The street where the restaurant is located on a tricky one way street. Took me a few minutes to find the location but when I did I saw a nice patio and cool graphic walls inside. This is definitely a lunch and not a dinner. Hot dogs even with all the extra sauce and bacon didn't fill me up. I will be back again

Korry B.

Yelp
I was the very first customer. I stopped in on 11/15/24. They were getting ready and the register was not working. I ordered a Brisket Dog combo. I have to say that the dog was okay. The onion rings were okay. They couldn't print the receipt. When I checked my statement the next day I was shocked. I have to say that $21.33 is a bit much for a Hot Dog combo. I wish you luck but I won't be stopping back anytime soon.
google avatar

Gina T.

Yelp
Honestly, I wasn't impressed with the hot dog I had here (the Carolina) it was good but nothing special. Literally a regular hot dog plus the bun was crusty/seemed really old. On a brighter note, the customer service was great. Sean was really great and recommended the Carolina to me. There is lots of seating (both inside and outside) here.
google avatar

Chris E.

Yelp
Got the Carolina slaw dog and the All-American to go and they were awesome! The guy that took my order at the bar was also super helpful. Will definitely return next time we're in Atlanta
google avatar

Yelp
Great location near GSU- a few blocks from Peachtree center Marta station so you don't have to drive. Love the decor.'Outdoor searing with umbrellas and indoor sofas and hi tops along with. We seating. TVs situated throughout so there's no bad view of a screen and an extensive menu of drinks and hotdogs. I was impressed. Ordered the jerk chicken combo which is the best deal of you are eating there. The combos range from $8-$11 and you get a drink w fries. The jerk dog wasn't the best but I ate it because I don't like wasting food and it was filling. I got the funnel cake sticks to go which were amazing. I'll definitely be back to try other dogs and the fried Oreos. They also have a happy hour I noticed. There was only one server/bartender but she was busy at around 2:30.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I visited Thursday evening and the place was pretty quiet with just a sprinkling of diners. There was free 30 min parking in their adjacent lot which was convenient. The location is pretty big with indoor/outdoor seating options and seems like it'd be a prime spot to watch sports on their large TV screens. I went with my fiance and we ordered the Detroit Coney Dog and the ATL XL Footlong Dog with a side of sweet potato fries. Everything came out fresh and hot. Service was great. Overall, it'd say the food is to be expected - we're ordering hotdogs afterall. Can't say I'd return but I can see it being a good spot to watch games with a group.

Yelp
Absolutely Perfect .... I will visit the original hot dog factory everytime I see one ..... we loved out hotdogs ....

Yelp
It's as good as it's ever been. Glad I got to try some of the new menu items coming to the menu for all in 2023. Glad to see this delicious spot spreading from GA to AL. I hope more people get to taste some of the best hotdog dishes in America. I always find something delicious on the menu and people told me hotdogs were basic, not here.
google avatar

Maniah S.

Yelp
I love the hotdog factory! It's a great location right in the middle of downtown Atlanta in the core of GSU. If you just want a quick lunch outside of the dining hall, this is a great choice. I've also worked in the building that it's connected to, so it's a great lunch option without having to walk too far. The prices are great and the food keeps me full. I usually get to go but I've also been there for a big brother season premiere watching party, and it's also a great event space. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in the downtown area.
google avatar

Yelp
Hubby was craving chili dogs. I went to Google and foundThe Great Hot Dog Factory came up 4.2 stars. The downtown Atlanta location is very close to our place. Reggie was laid back and provided great service! Atl.XL deep fried footlong Amsterdam Detroit hot dogs were delicious- hot dogs are 5 stars! Menu offers large variety-you can customize your type of hot dog: beef, pork, turkey, chicken, even Impossible Meat dogs!

Gregory G.

Yelp
Good food, good vibes. If you're on a hot dog kick, go try this place. Lots of TVs and good music.

Patrick H.

Yelp
Went inside at 5pm and was told it was closed. The door hours said 11am-10pm so I was confused. I can see if it was 10:30pm but gosh 5 hours before closing is ridiculous. Got to do better. The bartender with the short hair and nose piercing was busy flirting some guys for a tip. But yea food look good wished I had some.
google avatar

Zekelia R.

Yelp
Lisssennnn... a hotdog should NOT taste this darn good!! The options will give you a headache from wanting too choose them all, but eventually you'll l realize that it doesn't matter what you pick... they're alll so yummy! I've tried three different ones so far, and I don't have a favorite yet! I highly recommend anything on the menu!
google avatar

DeeDee H.

Yelp
Great little spot, but BRING YOUR APPETITE We decided to try 4 kinds and trade to see how we liked each combo of flavors. The Italian and Chicago were spot-on. What surprised us both were the Surf n Turf and the Hawaiian - the flavors being well balanced amongst all of the ingredients. And don't forget the Factory lemonade - SO refreshing! Just know that you will likely go home with a doggie bag - no pun intended
google avatar

Yelp
Can we take a moment to appreciate the ambiance? This location is very casual. Has a great design concept and is perfect for friends or even a date. The paid parking deck is right behind it which makes it even better. My friends and I went to experience it together and we all had a different take. The loved it and thought they were the best hot dogs ever. However, as a Northerner, I wasn't as impressed. On a scale of 1-10 I'll give the Hot Dogs a 4.7. The Fries a 6 and the Service a 10. My hot dog that came with onions (All American) shocked me when I took a bite and realized the were RAW onions. The hot dogs are flavorful but it's not a Nathan's. And, the bum was toasted yet somehow it was cold when it got to me. Truthfully, I'll this won't be my first option when I want a hot dog. However, due to the location I'm sure I'll be back again at some point.
google avatar

Yelp
Tiny hot dog on a soggy bun. I asked for a knife and fork but the server never brought it, instead (purposefully) ignoring us. Left hungry and treated badly :/

Yelp
Of course I had to try it while in ATL and it was sure delicious. We were visiting from Orlando and my hubby had to hear me talk about this place for years now, so we went! It was berry tasty, I could have ate 2 more but we were there for a quick bite. They were served hot and we tried their mystery lemonade. That was good!! Had quite the sugar so I added water to mine but we enjoyed ourselves. Will come back again. Okayyyy Dennis, hot dog man!!
google avatar

Brad M.

Yelp
I tried the Hot Dog Factory for a recent business lunch. The windows are very dark tint so I almost walked away thinking they were closed, but the lighted Open sign over the door made me look again, thankfully. It was before noon so I was able to quickly order and the bartender/server was very friendly and helpful. After looking through the long list of choices, I opted for the Carolina dog with chili which was very good; it was clearly a high-quality beef dog. The bun was nicely toasted and the chili was perfect, neither bland nor super spicy, and slaw was nice as well. I ordered a side of fries which were good if not exceptional and the handmade strawberry lemonade was excellent. If you're in the area and looking for something a little different, give them a try...it's a step up from what you'll get at the ballpark.
google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to try this place. It's take out only due to COVID. Free parking it's adjacent to the building. The staff was polite and helpful with answering our questions. I had the American and Detroit hot dog. I also ordered the mystery drink and peach margarita. Oh I got some fried Oreos as well . The hot dogs was okay . Nothing spectacular. The drinks were great . The chill was sweet. Something I was expecting. I would go back but not anytime soon. Black owned BTW

Yelp
I love hot dogs. Like really really love hot dogs. Today is my 3rd time eating from The Original Hot Dog Factory in under a week!! And I have truly turned my life over --only eating clean and fresh food. But I tried it one time, on Grubhub. Then again on Grubhub. Now I am dining in. Dogs I've tried (and loved) is the Detroit, Hawaiian, Texas Rodeo, Atl XL (added chili and shredded cheese), and the corn dog. Oh my. It's really the real deal with these hot dogs. They are gourmet and they have a really good ratio of toppings to the hot dog--which is cooked to perfection, grilled or fried. Also had the fried Twinkie and Oreo. All good. My waistline will hate me for finally checking it out. You should check it out. Good option for Grubhub. Inside was a little slow for service. But food is awesome.
google avatar

Vicente F.

Yelp
Service was so fast here I could not believe all my food was in the bag. I ordered the vegan beyond hot dog and a side of fries. By the time I filled up my drink and returned to the bar they will asking me to have a nice day and passing me the bag of food. Food was tasty and fries seemed generic frozen but fried well. My only concern is the price. $10 for a hot dog seems to sit in the border of full entree prices. I have always priced a hotdog somewhere along with a slice of pizza and I am yet to find a $10 slice. Outdoor seating area seemed like a great spot to people watch and relax while enjoying a meal. Other reviews complain about parking. While you should be walking or ridding your bike here there is ample signage exposing where you park and how you get to the front entrance. All you need to do is read. Overall if you have a hankering for a high quality hotdog and a drink this place is leaps and binds above other places hot dog options.
google avatar

Ronald E B.

Yelp
Needed a quick meal for lunch and found a convenient spot with great hotdogs of all varieties.
google avatar

Scott P.

Yelp
Food was very good and reasonably priced for the location! Staff was awesome I just wish I could remember the young ladies name so I could make the review to her as well !
google avatar

Crystal G.

Yelp
Excellent service! 26 different ways to have a hot dog or burger. Hot dogs are regular sized though there is an XL one. Husband and I shared three different ones and an order of fries. Finished with a deep fried Twinkie. Beverage costs are somewhat high ($3.50 for a fountain drink). Does serve hard liquor, beer, and wine.

Marisa C.

Yelp
Eh. I'm from Detroit, the owner is from Detroit and that Coney sauce was as sweet as Elton John. I have never had sweet Coney sauce so I was surprised. The menu is extensive so I'm sure the other options are good. A customer came in after me and ordered the Coney to go so it may be a hit to non-Detroiters but, if you're trying to go support the 313, pick another hotdog Sis because it's not giving East 7 mile coney... It's giving Cedar Point coney sauce. Now, the hot dog itself? Delicious. Some of the items said fried hot dog and I think mine was fried and what have you ever had that was fried and wasn't good? I'll wait. If you're still one of the ones out there who aren't ashamed to still eat hot dogs, I say go. They did have vegan dogs but I'm a meat eater until the death!

Mercedes C.

Yelp
Hot dog buns will break right when you touch it. Very cheap. I'll prolly never order a hot tog from them ever again. I could have used the 10$ I spent to buy hot dogs and fries and chilli and cheese onions (detroit coney). I been living around this are and wanted to try it so bad On the good side I would recommend this place for lounge vibes and hookah just not for food. They should change their name lmao . It's a vibe tho. Good music and good energy. My server was very pleasant and fast and professional (Vivian) . Would I eat there again prolly not.
google avatar

Jack R.

Yelp
$35 for 2 hot dogs, fries and 1 order of onion rings. The buns were too small for the hot dogs, just fell apart. Not the same buns advertised on website. Soggy fries. Also have to pay $5 to park. Just save your money and go somewhere else.
google avatar

Brittany L.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped at the Hot Dog Factory as a spur if the moment idea. We were given great service by 2 lovely young ladies working behind the bar. The food and the drink were made fresh and tasted amazing. So glad we chose to stop by the Hot Dog Factory.
google avatar

Trey L.

Yelp
Solid spot, they char their dogs. I tried the Cole Slaw and chili dog. The house lemonade was decent with it. Economical and from what I can tell quality ingredients ie the chili wasn't Wolf brand chili. Should note that they have fried Oreos, though nowadays it's hard to justify such a gluttonous endeavor.
google avatar

Pedra S.

Yelp
The food was cold. The wings were so hard fried they were more like jerky. The fries were very hard. The hotdogs were also cooked hard. Ordered items that didn't show. We were not happy with our meal. Will hesitate to revisit. Expensive for no reason.
google avatar

Dee J.

Yelp
I love a good hot dog, especially one that's grilled. The original hotdog has been on my list for a while now and I finally made it. Due to COVID they're not open for dine in and they have updated hours so plan accordingly. I opted for the Chicago dog w/ onion rings, my cousin had the Carolina w/ fries and a kids meal hot dog for my little. Let me start by saying that the onion rings were AWESOME!!! My 5 year old decided to eat most of mine and she kept saying how good they were. Now the hot dogs were really good and juicy. They were perfectly grilled with just enough char like we like them, seems like they even add butter to the buns before adding them on the grill. The peppers on the grill were not too hot they were just enough spice. They also had crown royal margaritas which are perfect on a hot day. We will definitely return and I plan to try every hot dog on the menu
google avatar

Quay F.

Yelp
I've heard so many great things about this establishment so I decided to try one of their vegan dogs. I ordered a mango margarita while I waited since it was happy hour and it was great. I loved how crispy the beyond sausage was and the added condiments made a even better flavor. When we received our food the fries were cold and had to wait an additional 10 minutes so for that I had to take away a star.

Biggg J.

Yelp
First off customer service was excellent food was real good the place has real cool vibes, hope to be back b4 I leave for the bay.
google avatar

Kayla J.

Yelp
Hot dogs aren't a favorite of mine, but I decided to give The Original Hot Dog Factory a try and it was well with it. The sweet potato fries could've been crispier but they were very flavorful. I also liked how you could add additional toppings to a speciality hot dog.
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
I love this place. A bit pricey for some hotdogs, but consistently good. They get. 4 out of 5 stars for me because they are always forgetting to read the order notes and rarely if ever put my condiments in the bag with my order.
google avatar

Christy W.

Yelp
Terrible burnt hot dogs. Could not even eat them. Waste of money. I will never order from here again.
