The Original Pinballz Arcade

My wife and I stopped in from out of town on Friday Mar 1st. Had a great time. The lady working the front counter was extremely nice about explaining how the card system worked and the layout of the building. We were there for a couple of hours playing pinball and having lunch. You order your food from the front counter and it is delivered there. The menu is very limited but the food was good. There are a lot of pinball machines, I believe around 70. The condition ranged from well worn to new. Overall we found them to be about average, we have played places with better maintained machines but we have also played places that were worse. They do offer a place on their website to list any problems you might have with a machine and I did fill that out. The issues we found were not enough to keep us from returning. We had a great time and the next time we are in Austin we will stop by. The location was easy to find and there was plenty of parking.

Went for the first time today and had a really good time! We only played games and pretty much all of the machines were in good working order (only saw one with an out of order sign). Fun games that aren’t too expensive each play and actually give you tickets that can be redeemed for a wide range of prizes. So many pinball machines, two guitar hero machines, DDR, and LOTS of coin pusher games. Will definitely be back and will bring friends!

This place has the best gaming and entertainment experience all under one roof! Slick track cars, HUNDREDS of arcade games, billiards, laser tag, escape room, food, drinks and SERIOUSLY one of THE BEST whiskey bars I have ever seen!! There is truly something for EVERYONE here. Staff are polite and friendly. It honestly puts some of those other big gaming places to shame. We had an absolute blast here!!

This place was super cool lots of great pinball machines and stand up arcades plus alot of really cool tickets dispensing games. Great to kill some time. And great for kids and parties also they allow service animals.

So many pinball machines, so freaking awesome! Talk about some old school COOL!! Had an absolute blast and really appreciated the courteous and attentive staff.

Though not unlimited games, it was easy to load a card and play without coins. Everyone there was happy and helpful, and we enjoyed being able to have an adult beverage while we played. Lots of pinball which is exactly what we wanted, not too crowded and not too loud.

My two sons loved this place. It was fun. It had a bunch of old school pinball games. It also had a few crane machines, skee ball games, and a lot of other various arcade games. We all enjoyed spending about an hour here. Most games are between $1 and $2.50 a play. They have a small shop where you can trade your points in for a prize. Your kids will really enjoy stopping here.

I have visited here many times over the years. They have a great selection of pinball machines as well as some arcade games. It is a fun place to go to unwind. My most recent visit was during Halloween to check out the costume contest and see all the amazing costumes people had on.

Sandra at the Front was incredibly nice and super helpful with how the cards worked and she spent a lot of time talking about the different locations in the differences between them and she is a genuine pleasure to speak with and I highly recommend the pinball company as well as Sandra who should be employee of the year!

Still love this place. Hadn't been in a while and decided to come to the OG location rather than the larger one up north. I definitely love it. It's a gorgeous day and the video games are gaming. I did notice a few games down but was told they have work orders in to have them repaired soon. So that's great that the staff have answers to give. I was here around mid day and it was very chill not packed or busy at all. Enough room to chill and vibe alone or hang with friends. The selection of games is still so amazing. This place definitely has something for everyone looking for classic games. One thing I noticed was the volume on many of the games were maxed out which caused some headache moments but I would just bounce to another space and boom better. All in all love this place and happy they are still here

Needed a mental break from the work and this placed was a great. I was able to get lost in the fun. I really used to love the arcade when I was a kid and don't play games often today. This was a good release. I love the hours are open late. I bet this place can be a zoo. I'll try what I anticipate to be slower nights to avoid kids, but I'm sure they go crazy with the volume of games. Also se that there's a party room, too, so I bet they get their fair share of kid parties on the weekends. Fun place for a date night, too, although I went alone.

My only complaint is that it could be cleaner. But honestly the only arcades without a layer grime haven't had their opening day yet. Nice set up and variety of games. Obviously pinball machines are aplenty, but there are other arcade classics like Pac-Man as well some newer games to enjoy. It's BYOB so I typically have a cider in hand while I play. It definitely hits the nostalgia buttons. I've been here w/ just one other person and in a group of 8, it's always been fun for everyone. There are so many opportunities to win tickets! Do a coin drop game and reel them in. The ticket prizes are pretty neat, I like getting a ton of candy or a bunch of other small items instead of going for a giant prize. Maybe next time.

I love this arcade. If you love pinball machines, this is the best place to be at in TX. They have a wide variety of new pinballs machines and vintage ones. Rows and rows of them. I absolutely love the vibe here, sad they don't accept coins. Also great taste in music here!

Returned for the first time since Covid. This place is a bummer. I showed up an hour after opening and they were still setting up - I was tripping over vacuum cords and listening to it whirr during my entire visit. The surly guy behind the counter, John, literally grunted at me when I greeted him and said, "What do you need?" The space feels sad and dank, like a roadside casino. I was out 30 minutes and $25 later and won't be returning.

Staff was rude and aggressive with my group. Front desk and bar was relaxed and enjoyable but a specific employee made the trip unenjoyable and other staff apologized for her aggressive behavior.

Really enjoyed our time at Pinballz. We stopped in on a Friday around 4pm and it wasn't busy at all. I would say there was 10-15 others playing. Tons of other arcade games and decent prizes. The only thing I was disappointed about was the Godzilla and Jurassic Park pinball machines aren't registered with Stern Insider.

Best arcade ever. They offer drinks at affordable prices, Epic prizes that are worth gathering tickets for, and the dining experience here is fantastic. Also the staff are helpful and friendly. There is also a massive variety of games to play from classic arcade to new and advanced games. If you are looking for that nostalgic yet new age place to hang with your friend or family then this is the place!

My daughter and I have been to all the Pinballz locations and this one is hands down our favorite. The staff here is the best. Great selection of games and top notch customer service. I also love that they decorate for all the holidays. I want to give a special shoutout to Sandra and Steve for taking such good care of us each visit and making my daughter feel special. We look forward to seeing them each time on our weekly visit to Pinballz.

This place is lackluster compared to the lakeline location. No good vibes and wanna be thug regulars and odd staff.

My husband, 10-year-old son and I had a blast playing arcade games together. They have the world's largest Pac-Man arcade game. It also features a two-player co-op play mode. Their arcade has everything from classic to new arcade games. My son especially enjoyed their Pac-Man air hockey table. It had pucks rain down spontaneously which added a competitive edge. My husband had fun playing D.D.R. while our son and I played air hockey together. They have a loyalty program and a convenient card you can charge and recharge to insert into each arcade game as an added bonus to traditional $1.00 bills or change. Check them out. It's family fun for everyone!

I loved it! A true classic arcade with the very best games and pinball machines. Funhouse and Adams Family pinball are my all time faves and they have both!

This place was a great way to spend an evening. Made me feel just like a kid again and I loved how throughout the night more and more people of such diverse backgrounds and ages kept showing up to have fun!

This place definitely lives up to its name. Pinball machines everywhere, but also old school arcade games, basketball, DDR, racing, shooting, and probably a lot of other things I'm forgetting. Can easily spend hours here. Play the clown game with a friend if you've got decent aim and want some tickets!

If you want to have fun...! It is incredible the lengths a business has to go through to be fun any more, but Pinballz does not disappoint!

We've been here a few times and overall had positive experiences. The staff was kind and helpful, most of the games were in working order and the prices per game were very reasonable. I feel like $25 gets you much further here than at similar gaming places. Personally, I enjoy the vintage games, especially the pinball. Of note, the life sized Hungry, Hungry Hippos was a great family experience, nothing like going head to head while sitting on a giant hippo. The food is hit and miss in my opinion. The burgers are pretty solid and the sweet potato fries are excellent. The beer selection is also really good. On my most recent visit I had the margarita pizza which wasn't that great and took significantly longer to come out from the rest of our order, the rest of the family had finished dinner and we were still waiting for mine. I also thought the regular fries were soggy and limp. All that aside, we had a great time and will happily be back.

We hosted a 7th birthday celebration here over the weekend. We've always visited this location but have never held an actual birthday here-- I was very impressed. Booking was easy online. The staff communicated with me well throughout the booking process and answered any questions I had very quickly. I appreciated the fast response to my questions. One of the managers at the location, Steve was very helpful and flexible with last minute changes. He graciously opened the party room we booked open to another side as we had a few unexpected guests rsvp at the last minute. And what's a party without forgetting something? I forgot silverware and a cutting knife for the cake and they just so happened to have extra on hand that they provided me with. I was so appreciative for that! I would definitely host a party here again. The only thing that maybe needs improvement is the air conditioning in the party room, it was kind of warm but with temps in the 100s I assume the A/C was working overtime. The party room was also on the second level and I'm sure that had something to do with it as well. Thanks again, Pinballz for being courteous and flexible! We enjoyed our time and so did our guests!

I recommend this place to have fun with friends and family, good games, good music, and a good staff! Today is a great day to spend time here

Such a cool and fun spot to be a kid back way back when!! Let's not discuss age lol They have so many games to choose from that there's no way you can play all your faves in one visit. It is also BYOB which is a nice little convenient detail. You can also accumulate virtual tickets and then trade them in for a prize. They have some grown up prizes don't worry lol I really enjoyed my time here and it's a great spot for a second date. I definitely would recommend!

This place is really cool. Came in for my birthday and played games for 5 hours! Lots and lots of games to choose from. Many classics that I hadn't seen in years. Location was clean and the staff was friendly. It's byob at this location and we enjoyed a few while we were there. I can't wait to go back!

Super fun spot with enough games to entertain even the most fickle gamer. Easy to spot but kind of a wonky parking lot to navigate, could use some love since there's some uneven bits to drive over. I love the selection of coin pusher games and the walls of pinball machines. There are so many classic movie and TV themed machines but I have had a couple games ruined by a ball getting caught, not super frequent but enough to make me nervous with some of the older machines. Its so easy to spend money here though so I'm glad there's only one machine to reload your card. I normally just do $20 or $30 and that'll last me at least a couple hours depending on game selections and luck. Haven't taken advantage of any of the bites, being from San Antonio whenever we make the hike to Austin we fuel up from more established foodie locations and Pinballz tends to be a place to burn time or even just wrap up our day trips. The staff is pretty friendly though and there's enough variety to find something new each visit. I recommend you load up your game card and do a couple laps around the space to see everything they have to offer, found some really fun machines when I was down to my last couple dollars on my first trip.

Fun place for birthday party. I have found that several of their pinball games have the most strongest difficulty sitting enabled. This can be frustrating when you're spending $.75 per game.

It's Busin my guy. I had fun here with my friends. The workers here are great & nice. They helped me immediately & welcome me here when I walk in under a minute.

Too hot. Like arid. Maybe I should have bought something to drink. Maybe that was the point. Parking is kind of sketchy. A LOT of machines in good condition. Lots of fun.

Neat place tucked away off the freeway frontage road. It shares the building with another venue, but the downstairs is dedicated to Pinballz. Interestingly it is BYOB, you just need to check-in at the front. The arcade isn't huge but it's also definitely not small. They specialize in pinball machines so the name is quite accurate (also I love their clever logo with the L's as flippers); I'd estimate about 2/3's of their square footage is dedicated to pinball machines of all different themes. I personally played all the Star Trek ones cuz I'm a Trekkie, haha. The staff members were quite helpful when my ball became lodged incorrectly and even gave me an extra play free of charge. All of the pinball machines run on tokens which are 33 cents a pop. Most required three tokens to play, but we found a few for 2 and a few for 4. They have a nook of older arcade games (think Galaga, Pac-Man, etc.), as well as some shooters, fighting games, and experience games like DDR. The rest are reward-based games that you can play to get prizes from the counter in the middle-- your typical fare: candies, little Knick-knacks, plushies, inflatables, and electronics. They've done away with physical tickets and have a card system instead. This is somewhat awkward because it results in two currencies simultaneously within one establishment. You cannot use tokens on prize machines and you cannot use the game card on pinball machines. This is probably the only reason I dropped my rating down to a 4 from a 5. A final note for collectors: the store actually allows you to BUY individual pinball machines, if you are so inclined. Very cool and keeps their offerings changing so it's not all the same each visit.

Man, what happened to this place? Machines are dirty, the restroom is absolutely filthy and hasn't been cleaned in many days at a minimum. It's disappointing how many machines are out of service or simply under serviced (still on and taking money, but not working properly).

Great beer & a ton of fun games. I loved Mario, skiball & I really dug the retro game cabinets! I do wonder if the go-carts & laser tag games open up? I highly suggest for a date or family!

Booked Pinballz for a work social event and worked with the manager, Steven. He was super accommodating and responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed! We looked at other venues but Pinballz was the biggest bang for our buck! Great prices for a room, food, drink and a game card! You can also bring your own food and drinks too, including alcohol. Really can't beat this place! AND It's and Austin original! Will definitely be back!

My husband and I went here on my birthday. Neither of us had played these machines since back when you actually fed them quarters. We had initially wanted to go on a Saturday...drove up and the place was packed, no where to park. So, we decided to go on a weekday afternoon, which was perfect for a non crowded adventure. It was lots of fun, but I will say most games are 75 cents to $1.50. We had fun, but only played $20 in games each and said we'd had our fix for another 20 years.

Not sure why I've never left a review for Pinballz Arcade before but better late than never right.. Pinballz Arcade is so much fun for ADULTS & for kids! It's a cool spot to take your kids or just go w/ another adult to unwind & have some fun. Pinballz has old school games & newer games for everyone to enjoy..skew ball, basketball, driving games, pinballs of course, Tron, and for all my Walking Dead fans they now have a WD game & so many other games but you're just going to have to take your butt over to Pinballz Arcade to check them all out. Pinballz does sell food & drinks & when you 1st walk in you can order your food & also order your game card. A lot of the games do give out tickets & you can then turn the tickets in for a prize, which my kids love doing. Ok, now for the good stuff my adult peeps..Pinballz has BYOB and after 10pm only 21 and up are allowed..yep, this means us adults get to have ALL THE FUN!! :)) Ok, now stop reading this review & run to Pinballz Arcade!! -Rebecca out

Been coming here for years, solid date night choice. Tons of old school games and new stuff too. Just remember you can only bring in one drink per person at a time. Tonight they had an adult beverage night and gave away free beers and seltzers!

An absolute gem of Austin, a must for gamers and non gamers of all ages. It's byob and the people are super down to earth, come here soon!

Let me hit the high points: 1. Huge variety of games 2. Helpful workers 3. Sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer were provided Low points: 1. Prices a little high 2. Sanitization. We were there for about 90 minutes and didn't see anything being cleaned. They did have hand sanitizer and wipes available, but they should probably be assisting with that as well.

It's always a great time. BYOB, variety of arcade games, pinball, coinpushers (it's not just all pinball!). If you're a kid at heart I can't recommend it enough! Matt is the best!!

So much fun! My bf and i had a blast. Will def come back here! It's right in the heart of Austin, TX. We first went to Terry Blacks and then here. Highly recommend.

It actually took me this long to realize that I haven't written a review for Pinballz Arcade, but this place is pretty cool! Pinballz Arcade is a pretty cool hangout spot with lots of video games, flashing lights, variety of games and plenty, and I mean plenty, of arcade/pinball machines. They have a huge variety of games which I enjoy a lot! From multiplayer TMNT games, ticket games, sports, racing, test your luck, DDR, and all of the above! They have a cool touch pad card system for all your credits, some require tokens (like the good ol' days!) Some of my favorite games have been the basketball game (really easy to beat the high score), Down the Clown (get a partner to play this game with you), Mario Kart GP Racing (kind of expensive, but well executed), and the Claw Machine (shoutout to Matt3756 on YouTube for good claw machine skills)!

Affordable and great atmosphere! They have a bar and food, lots of pinball machines and arcade. You can even purchase any of the games, take home a pinball!

We spent a good 1.5 hours here. Tons of pinball machines and arcade games to play with. I was surprised by how big the place was once we stepped foot. We had tons of fun playing pinball and I really liked the basketball connect four game.

Jonathan is such a great worker he offered me help to get better at a game he guided me through my journey to eat all the ghost in pac man when I was on my lowest he told me "hey David you can do anything in this world all you have to do is put your mind through it !" and that's when I decided to run for president for the chess club and I won !

This arcade is just that, an old school arcade. It's no Dave and Busters or Main Event, but they are not arcades. The facade of this place in not noticeable but once you get inside, it is fun. There are more pinball machines than modern games. My son and I stuck to the modern games and we had fun. The machines actually dispense tickets, a total throwback. The ticket amounts were fair and the prizes were decent. We had a good time. My son ate a kids meal while there, chicken tenders and fries for $5, a very fair price. Check this place out in the winter...or when it's 100 degrees in Austin!

Had a blast with my girlfriend at pin ballz, definitely recommend for all ages. Kinda pulled off some skills on the claw machine ;)

We went there for a little family fun and it did not disappoint. From my mother in law to my grand daughter, fun for everyone. The manager and the two guys that were working with him when they opened were just amazing and super friendly. It doesn't look like much, but everyone had a great time! We will most definitely be back!
