This place absolutely delivers. First, the restaurant was spotless. Second, the line moved fast — which actually matters. But the real standout was the customer service. The employees were genuinely friendly, professional, and welcoming. I ordered the prime steak and jalapeño sausage, both cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Huge shout-out to Nelson, who sliced my meat and even gave me a complimentary pork rib — a small gesture that made a big impression. If you want top-quality BBQ, great service, and a smooth experience, this is the place. Highly recommend.

This was my first time at Hutchins Barbeque (Trophy Club), and I’m honestly blown away. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The cashier was friendly, and the staff regularly came around checking to make sure everything was good. I was even asked a few times if it was my first visit, which really made me feel taken care of. That kind of genuine Southern hospitality goes a long way. Now the food… absolutely amazing. The brisket was tender and full of flavor, the Texas Twinkie was incredible, and the sides (mac & cheese, mashed potatoes) were just as good. But the real standout for me was the peach cobbler — and I don’t even usually like peach cobbler like that. It was so good I found myself wishing I had a little cinnamon on hand to sprinkle on top. That’s how you know it hit. The portions are very generous. I couldn’t even finish my entire plate and still had food left over to take with me, which says a lot about the value and quality here. Overall, everything from the food to the service made this a great experience. I’ll definitely be back — next time I’m trying the beef rib. Highly recommend.

We had a great first experience. We ordered the 5-6 family platter. It came with 3 1 quart sides and 3 pound of meat, up to 6 different kinds. We chose 2 pounds of brisket (lean), 1/2 pound of regular sausage, and 1/2 pound of jalapeño cheese sausage. We got a quart of Mac and cheese, coke slaw, and fries. The desserts were on the house. The cobbler and banana pudding, and ice cream were the choices. Everything was amazing. Maybe the best brisket, mac and cheese and cobbler I have ever had. There were 6 of us and we walked away with enough to have lunch tomorrow. The staff was amazing. Very friendly and extremely efficient. The place was very clean. The lines are long. But, they move pretty fast. I suggest bringing a big group and getting the platter!! Next time I will try the Texas twinkies.

When I arrived, there was a line outside the front door. I also heard that it's like this everyday, so come early. Fortunately, my friends were already in line further inside. Clearly a popular place. I ordered half-pound of Pulled Pork, Coleslaw, and Corn. The pulled pork was very tender and tasty. The corn had a little spice to it. The BBQ sauce was OK. It didn't fit my taste buds, but overall, the food was good. Lots of seating, including outdoors and upstairs. Friendly staff all around that made the experience even better.

Outstanding. I have been searching for this taste and place all my life. We were greeted with a quick tutorial as we asked when we arrived and stepped in. A super friendly man made us feel so welcome, part of the experience. There are many seating areas on different levels inside and out - fireplace and heaters as well. The food! Amazing right off the roast even for a sandwich and loaded potato (other places use unwanted parts). We also loved the option of the side portions - load them yourself with the kind and amount you want. We sampled just about everything between the two of us. Delicious! We were catered to as real guests throughout our meal. Again, other places seem to have attitudes and want you out as soon as you sit down - not here! Our experience made our special occasion and celebration even better and we are so grateful we chose you. Everyone else should as well! We have plans to head back and take other locals with us as well as it being on top when we host guests from out of town.

Born and raised in TX, this is hands down the best BBQ I've had. I've tried all of the BBQ spots and have struggled to find one that delivers quality like this everytime. I'm truly impressed and look forward to coming back every time. My wife and I have been about six times in the past month, I just left after eating 1.25 lbs of meat, happy as can be. Awesome people, amazing food, perfect.

Hutchins BBQ in Fort Worth absolutely lived up to the hype. We had a friend visiting from out of town who was trying Texas barbecue for the very first time, and we truly could not have picked a better spot to introduce them to it. Every bite was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Even with the big crowd, the service was incredibly kind, welcoming, and impressively efficient—it never felt chaotic or rushed. You can really tell this place takes pride not just in the food, but in the overall experience. And the cherry on top: it was my first time ever trying peach cobbler, and I honestly couldn’t believe a dessert that delicious was free. What an amazing (and unforgettable) treat! Hutchins, you’ve officially set the bar high for Texas BBQ… now please do us all a favor and come to Houston!

My friend was in the Southlake area and wanted bbq so online suggested Original Rays so he decided to check it out. he got the lunch special which included ribs, shredded brisket, buns, 2 sides and a drink. He also added banana pudding. The standouts were the two sides - Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes which were amazing and the banana pudding which was also delicious. The shredded brisket was good and the ribs had good flavor but were mostly bone. It was clearly a popular place as it was packed and the line long but you got a big portion in a nice atmosphere

The Texas Twinkie was delicious!! pork ribs were great as well. Emily and the rest of the staff were so friendly. Definitely coming back!!

Our servers bardo and Jennifer were amazing! Eating here was a great experience. Beef rib was phenomenal the brisket was on point and they didn't miss with the susage. The peach cobbler and the ice cream ended our experience perfectly

It was a little busy, but well worth the wait! Katie was especially helpful as our party of 6 didn't have a roll of napkins at our table. She came around a few times and offered to refill our drinks.

1st time ever visiting Dallas and my best friend took me here. Food- Had the brisket, was very tasty loved the rub on it made it super savory and was completely fall apart. For the sides had the Mac & cheese and it was so rich and delicious. Had mashed potatoes as well and they were well seasoned. Service- Erica was really helpful and attentive to our table. Anytime a tray was finished it disappeared in a second. Everyone from the moment we walked in till the moment we sat down was really friendly and helpful with any of our questions. Ambiance- Very laid back family style vibe. Just wha I was looking for a Sunday night dinner with friends.

We're diehard fans of the Hutchins BBQ in McKinney/Frisco -- like, "plan road trips around the BBQ" level. Since Roy and his son went their own direction and opened here, we figured, hey, same legendary DNA, right? High hopes activated. We ordered brisket, pork ribs, loaded mashed potatoes, and rolls. Brisket: Looked the part -- bark, smoke ring, all the visual cues of greatness. Unfortunately... the seasoning must've taken the day off. Very little flavor. When a chain BBQ spot I won't name does better, that's a red flag. $20 for 1/2 lb. Pork ribs: Perfect texture, looked legit...but again, where'd the flavor go? They offered a sweet glaze and I said no because great BBQ shouldn't need a sugar band-aid. I instantly regretted that choice. $20 for 1/2 lb. So yeah, $40 in meat got us 3 ribs and 3 slices of brisket -- and I wish I could say the flavor matched the price. The rolls: Absolute rockstars. 10/10. The sad part is... the bread won the night. Mashed potatoes: Tasty but salty like someone yelled "SODIUM" into the pot and the salt obeyed. 7/10. Desserts: Peach "cobbler" -- not cobbler, it's dump cake, and it's dry. 4/10. Banana pudding -- somehow forgot the bananas? Just essence of banana. 6/10. The service and people were amazing though. Super friendly and attentive! That's why I gave them any stars at all. Bottom line: If you love BBQ like we do, save your cash and take the drive to McKinney or Frisco. Roy's other sons are still carrying the real Hutchins BBQ torch. As for this location -- looks good, tastes meh. There's just no comparison.

Horrific. I don't give out two star ratings lightly but this meal didn't even get close to a three. Virtually nothing redeeming about it. Let's start with the "prime" brisket. Dry as the Sahara Desert and hard as a rock. Like drive a nail into a pine 2x4 hard. It didn't have much flavor and I couldn't really tell about the bark because I was concentrating so much on gnawing my way through the balsa wood texture of the meat. If they do have the option of getting the fattier part of the brisket they certainly didn't offer it. Now let's get to the pork ribs. We got one with the glaze and one without. I guess the glaze helped a little but still not much flavor. And the only way that meat was going to fall off that bone is if you whacked it with the aforementioned brick of a brisket. The Texas Twinkie is a total gimmick. While impossible to mess up meat and cream cheese wrapped in a jalapeño and bacon they come pretty close to it. Again, just nothing to make it memorable. The sides. The elote corn was absolutely swimming in a watery milk substance. The loaded mashed potatoes were probably the best part of the main meal. Then they charge you something like 75 cents apiece for some tiny jalapeño corn muffins, which were also dry as a bone. The only redeeming feature of the whole meal was the free dessert. The peach cobbler (was actually more like a dump cake) was delicious. Very buttery and not too sweet. There is a free soft-serve ice cream dispenser which compliments the cobbler perfectly. Definitely wait for them to bring a new, hot tray of it. And be sure to get some crust. So, maybe see if they have an option to just pay for the dessert. If they do, stop by McDonald's for a McRib sandwich and some fries first and come here for the cobbler. If they don't give that option try one of the other couple hundred barbecue restaurants within 20 miles of here.

Hutchins is legit Texas BBQ. Had a group of about 13-14 folks from work with me so we ordered the Texas Feast (6lbs of que, 6 quarts sides). We ask ordered 10 Twinkies (large jalapeño poppers with brisket), drinks, and of course enjoyed the free dessert that (included with any done in meal). We got brisket, pulled pork, chicken, turkey, sausage (3 reg, 1 jalapeño), and o honestly can't remember the last one. EVERYTHING was delicious. If you enjoy BBQ, you can go wrong with Hutchins. We ate upstairs, outside since we knew we'd be loud. It was perfect and the staff checked in on us continuously while we were there for about 90min. Plenty of seating inside and out with drink and dessert stations on both floors. Highly recommend!

Always stellar but tonight they were on FIRE! and bringing on Bardo as a new addition was a wonderful surprise. Music was rocking and it was nice and cool inside. The ribs were so meaty and falling off the bone! The peach cobbler was scrumptious. We always sit upstairs in the back room. Yes there's drinks and dessert up there too and you can take an elevator. Was behind a vegetarian and they brought her Mac and cheese without the bacon. Hutchins loves their customers and we love them!

Well. I made it to TX, so you know that I need some brisket inside of me as fast as possible. I wasn't sure where I may end up for said brisket. Cruising to the hotel we passed this place. I had never heard of it before. David looked it up and it looked pretty damn good. Walked in and they are flying "Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat 2025" on the TV's. What!?!? Well I will be damned! I accidentally found this place? I am not sure I've ever been to another on that list before. It's big, boisterous, and two stories on the inside. It screams Texas BBQ as soon as you walk in the door. They have a place for buying branded items such as apparel, rubs, and sauces. The line to get in is well decorated and you can see the menu board to decide what you want easily. So far, so good... Got in line and waited with anticipation. The guys in front of me had some major camera equipment and ordered the whole place on a tray. I dig. I got a pic of the receiving their tray of goodies. It's my turn and I say I want "fatty, please. He cuts a giant chunk out of the end and throws it on the scale. It was like 3" plus thick. WTH. I asked for another, smaller slice and he obliged. I got a sausage and some ribs too. He threw in an extra rib I guess for giving me the crap pieces of brisket and ribs. I should have spoken up, but I was with a group. You go down the line and serve yourself sides after you get meats. The sides are individually priced and not sold by weight. I feel they should be weighed like the meat. I must have missed the price list, I was pretty high honestly. I got little samples of sides and was charged the same as the others who mounded it up. I like to try lots of things, not eat a pound of mac & cheese. Oh well, stop griping, you are in TX, and you have BBQ, Adam. Favorite thing on the plate was the sausage. I had the end of the brisket and the end of the rack of ribs so hooray for me! Beans were good and so was the macaroni, but I was here for the meats and just wasn't that into it honestly. Spicy sauce was good, but I got it from the wrong floor, and gosh damn, don't do that! Free soft serve milk product at the end with the free dessert is a plus. The ice milk stuff just left a bad taste in my mouth. Just like the dang meat I got. Ugh. I stopped by here on a recent work trip to Dallas, and I was hankering for BBQ (and Terry Black's was too far away). I read good reviews of Roy Hutchins and decided to take an uber out here. It blew me away! For reference I was here at a Friday afternoon. The downstairs sitting area was full when I was there, but there were several empty tables upstairs. The ambiance is your typical BBQ joint. You go up and order meat by weight from the carvers, and they let you sample whatever you'd like. I ordered the brisket, pork ribs, and sampled the beef rib. All were fall off the bone and so tender. There's also a bar full of sides, with rolls, and pickles and onions for free before you pay, and I got the Mac and cheese and dirty rice. Both were tasty, I just wish I could have finished them if I weren't so full from the meat. Also loved their free dessert bar for those who dine in! It was peach cobbler and banana pudding. The next time I find myself in Dallas, I'd definitely come back.

I've eaten at Hutchins BBQ for years but this was the first time at the Original. I spent roughly $280 to bring food back to my Hotel for the family. The Brisket was moist and flavorful with a very good Bark. The Ribs were tender but not an ounce of Seasining. Not an Ounce. The Texas Twinkies were pretty good. Mac and Cheese was dry,Beans tasted like they were ashamed to be in the Plate. I'm not even sure at this point of the Original Hutchins is the same Hutchins I had when I lived there briefly.

Hutchins is a Top-5 DFW BBQ, comparable to Terry Blacks (and much closer for folks in Grapevine/Mid-Cities area) and maybe a 1/2 step behind Goldee's. My son and I went early on a Sat night and here's a recap of our experience: Line at 5:15 was only about 20 mins long and all of the staff were super-friendly. You can skip the line if you order to-go, and they have BBQ packages that are a good deal. We will probably go that route next time b/c Hutchins doesn't serve alcohol, and BBQ is just that much better w a cold beer. However, you don't get free dessert if you don't dine in! What we ordered... Meat: Brisket - very well done, moist but Blacks is a smidge better due to more seasoning TX Twinkie - my son calls this a TX Chile Relleno and it doesn't disappoint. Loaded w brisket and cream cheese - great flavor profile and not available at a lot of BBQ joints Pork Ribs - solid rendition but smallish - Blacks offers a much meatier rib Jalapeño cheese sausage - might be the best BBQ sausage we've ever had. Amazing flavor, good firmness, super juicy Sides: Fried okra - crunchy and addictive Mac and cheese - the addition of bacon crumbles on top puts this Mac over the top Elote - a must-order side and maybe the best we've ever had. Light cream, chiles and bacon - WOW. Other thoughts: I love that you can self-serve jalapeños, pickles etc right before paying. Lots of BBQ places are starting to ration these out now. The free dessert is one of those 'extras' that make Hutchins so special. And the desserts are great! Peach cobbler has a hint of saltiness (in a good way) and you should def add some vanilla soft serve to it. But the banana pudding? Again, one of the best versions out there and a perfect way to finish the meal. We loved Hutchins and will definitely be back!

They definitely do BBQ different in Texas! This place is like walking into "The house that Ruth built" except instead of Ruth, its BBQ!! The brisket was super tender. The daily special is a half pound of brisket (though it seemed like more.) Each little side dish is $3.79 but you can fill it with as much as you can and multiple sides if you want. The spicy Bbq was great too! When I am in Texas, this is where I am going!!

Don't be alarmed by the line when you pull up -- it moves fast and it's totally worth it! You go through a serving line to order, food is made fresh but the seating isn't great. You have to find a table with your tray of food and navigate going up stairs. There is an elevator and there is seating downstairs but not much. The brisket is incredible -- tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The regular sausage was great too, but skip the ribs and stick with the brisket. Sides were all amazing -- we had the broccoli salad, brisket beans, brisket mac & cheese, and fried okra. Fresh, flavorful, and so good! And the best part -- free dessert for dine-in! The banana pudding and peach cobbler are homemade and delicious. It's not cheap, but compared to other local BBQ spots, it's worth every penny. Go during the week if you can -- shorter lines and same amazing food!

The BEST BBQ in north Fort Worth, Tx. Hutchins is always packed to hungry folks loaded with trays and trays of meats and sides. It's busy and loud when the lines are long but the service is great and they offer so many places to sit and enjoy your meal. Unbelievably great tasting meats including their brisket(juicy), sausage, pork and ribs. Their meat is not too smoky with the right abound of char. I love their sides particularly their green beans and fried okra. I usually show up and order for take out however I were to say you get free ice cream and banana pudding. And having sweet ice tea is the perfect beverage with your meal. Come early and often for you Q fixe as Hutchins delivers. Love their Q!

Fantastic Texas BBQ! If you're looking for a place with great Texas BBQ ambience and the smell of the BBQ smoker that envelopes you as soon as you walk through the door, then look no further. This place has fantastic BBQ brisket, sausage and other smoked meats. The brisket is crazy tender and you can just eat it with your hands like meat candy. The sides are delicious and they have a whole side bar dedicated to them. A really cool fun treat is they have a free ice cream and cobbler bar in the seating area. The restaurant is 2 stories and has plenty of seating inside and out. Parking can be a bit of a bear sometimes, but the place is worth the wait. They have about 5 different BBQ sauces, from what I recall, and each one is fantastic. My personal favorite is their house original. Lastly, the wait staff is ever present and always looking to help. I would highly recommend Hutchins BBQ to family, friends, tourists, locals and the likes. Enjoy! You won't be disappointed.

First time here at Hutchins. Wanted to try a new place out here in Texas being I'm not from out here. Don't recall how I came across the name for it but wrote it down and decided to check out. As soon as I walked in I was made feel welcomed, like if I had just got to grandpas home. You order by the lb, half a lb. Whatever you'd like. The gentlemen behind the window was very patient with me. Explained how it'd worked and even went over some of the specials with me. Once you get ur meats, you move on to the sides. You get a tray, get to mix and match as much as you'd like as long as it fits in the tray. Solid, got to try couple of things for one price. The service was great, Katlyn I believe was her name and don't recall the other ladies name. They were both great. Customer service was awesome. Food was great. Would definitely return here whenever I make a trip back into town. Oooh let's not even mention the all you can eat dessert for dine in. Lol

I saw some TikTok videos and read some Yelp reviews. And this was a good pick. I was dining solo. I got the sandwich and two sides and a drink combo for $18. I also got the Texas Twinkie and jalapeño cornbread muffin. I got the broccoli salad and baked beans as my sides. Ate half the Twinkie. It was sooo good. The chopped brisket was so good too. I ate the banana pudding that is self serve. The ice cream machine was out of service. The dessert is included. As an out of towner - I didn't know the "drill" on how to order. The sides are self serve, I held the line up a little. The workers were busy filling family platters so they didn't really tell me til I asked. Also you get your food then take it to a table so semi quick service. The tables are communal or solo, depending on space. Drinks are self serve too. Good, and would go back.

All I can say is WOW! The experience here was fantastic. Although I was born & raised in Texas, BBQ has never been my favorite, but Roy Hutchins has definitely made me have a different outlook on Texas BBQ! It is definitely crowded because of how good it is, but surprisingly the turnaround time is very fast. It's a large space with are a lot of tables available so there isn't a long wait time. You start off by getting in line to pick out your meats & sides. The sides are whatever you want in the little container they give you and you can't go wrong with any of the choices! The meat is insanely moist, the brisket nearly falls apart upon touch! The sausage was flavorful and had a nice outer casing that wasn't super chewy like some can be. The sides are top tier - the broccoli salad is so light & refreshing and balances out all the meat. The creamed corn, Mac & cheese, and mashed potatoes are a classic that you can't miss out on! The sleeper highlight of this experience is the dessert. UNLIMITED cobbler, banana pudding, and ice cream?? Not only that, but the dessert was so fresh and warm and so delicious. I feel like I could go back just for the dessert Definitely recommend eating at the restaurant to get a taste of this magical experience since you can't take the dessert to go! Anyways now I want to go back after raving about it!! Highly recommend if it wasn't obvious.

I was in town for work and my coworker took me here. The food was AMAZING!!!!!!! Ordered brisket, beef rib and sausages. Beef rib is a must over stl pork ribs! The meat was so tender and juicy. Sausages were so good as well!! First you choose your meats, then go to the next line for sides. I wish I took a photo but I didn't, lots of amazing sides to choose from. The best part: endless peach cobbler, banana pudding and ice cream!!

We went on a Sunday. There was a line out the door, but it moved pretty fast. They had a special where you could get a sandwich with two sides and a drink. For my sides I got the elote corn and mashed potatoes. For dessert, you can help yourself to the peach cobbler and banana pudding. Everything was delicious!!! If you can get a special, it was pretty affordable for what you get. I'd come back here again!

Hutchins brisket is delicious! My friend and I tried a variety of meats and sides. We agreed that the brisket was our favorite. We dined in and had the most polite and friendly server, Kross. He checked on us frequently and made some dessert recommendations. We would eat here again.

The barbecue here was amazing! The smell hits you as soon as you walk in! The brisket was packed with flavor and so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was delicious, cheesy, smoky, and not too spicy, just perfect. All the meats had that rich, smoky, mouthwatering flavor that makes you want to keep eating. The service was fantastic. The staff were super friendly, always checking on us, bringing boxes, and making sure we had everything we needed. And the free dessert at the end was such a fun surprise and honestly the best way to finish the meal. Best banana pudding ever!!!

The only recommendation I have is to not come right at opening. I believe they reheat some of the previous days food and although it is still good, it is no where the same as having it fresh once you come in the afternoon and they're serving out fresh items. Food was so good I had to spin the block and come back and eat again. Day one ordered the family pack for the whole crew to eat. We were all full and had left over sides to take with us. Got 1lb of chopped brisket, 1lb of smoked pork ribs, 1/2 lb of pork belly burnt ends, 1Qt Mac and Cheese, 1 QT loaded Mash Potatoes, 1 QT of Brisket Pinto Beans, and jalapeños cheddar corn bread. Not to mention they have free desserts for dine in customers to have to enjoy as well. I wish I had more space to tell you about how good the food was, I definitely had a "I'll have what she's having" type of experience. Best bbq if not one of the best bbq spots I ever had. Brisket 4/5, pork belly burnt ends 7/5. Out of this world good. Pork Ribs 4.5/5. Mac and Cheese is the best Mac and Cheese I ever had at a resturant 7/5. Loaded Mash Potatoes 7/5. Like these items are so good they are beyond the scale. Pinto Beans were okay, but just a nice change of pace from then richness of everything else. Even though the desert is made in batches, it's a 7/5 for both of them. Expert tip add the ice cream to the hot cobbler before you have it. If you can only one bbq joint while in the Dallas/Irving Texas area go here.

I don't get why this place is managed separately from the Hutchins BBQ locations (especially since those seem to be owned by Roy's children) but lucky me I found myself booked in a hotel next door. I'll be honest, it's just like Hutchins BBQ in every way and that is a good thing. I love everything about this joint, and highly recommend you pop in for some great BBQ.

I'm so glad the stars aligned and we were driving by and decided to have lunch here. We arrived right at 12 noon and only had to wait 10 min in line. There is plenty of overflow parking. You order and they serve as you go in the line and it's mostly family style seating. I was really impressed with the staff who constantly were checking in with the diners making sure we had what we needed or to clear our plates from the tables. Everyone from the guy at the door to the guys serving were so nice. They brought out samples for the folks in line starting at the back which I thought was a really nice gesture. I wanted everything on the menu but we settled on the Texas twinkle, jalapeño cheddar sausage, pork ribs, mac n cheese, and brisket pinto beans. They also gave us some of their original sausage to try. Our attempts to finish our food were noble but we definitely had leftovers. It's one of the best meals I've had. The pork ribs are delicious and I preferred the original sausage over the jalapeño cheddar sausage only because it was almost too cheesy for me (I know, I know). The Texas Twinkie is delicious and you can't go wrong with brisket and cream cheese inside a bacon wrapped jalapeño. The Mac n cheese was good but the brisket pinto beans were the best I've had. If we weren't stuffed enough, they have free dessert for dine-in only. Banana pudding, peach cobbler, and soft serve. We will be back once I finish digesting the most indulgent meal I've had in a while. I know why they are famous and win the awards. Yum!

My family and I came on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate a birthday. It was easy to find a place to sit for 12ppl. The line to order was all the way outside, but went by pretty quick. All the meat and sides were amazing, no complaints! There is also complimentary ice cream, banana pudding, and cobbler if you dine in. Will be coming back and recommending.

BBQ here is so tasty and delicious. BBQ per the pound. Love how the sides are self served!! Love the atmosphere and really love the great customer service. Also, they offered free banana pudding, peach cobbler, and ice cream for those who choose to dine in. They also had 3 different BBQ sauces to try MEAT: -Texas Twinkie ($7.00): 4/10, had really high hopes since it's a bacon wrapped jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket but it was OK. -Prime Brisket: 9/10 literally the best BBQ meat I've had from this whole meal, GET THIS ONE IF YOU STOP BY -Original House Made Sausage: 8/10 super good and would recommend!! -Pork Belly Burnt Ends: 7/10, very flavorful but a bit dry and rough SIDES: -Fried Okra: 9/10 yumm, GET RANCH on the side -Dirty Rice: 8/10 helped balance the meal out -Elote Corn: 9/10 super good cannot emphasize this enough -Cole Slaw: 5/10 just not a big fan of coleslaw -Mac and Cheese: 6/10 really wish they improved their Mac and cheese because it was average

Why 4 stars? Because this is perfectly 4-stars BBQ. --- --- --- BBQ comes in many varieties and this experience for us fit squarely into the 4-star space. Certainly better than the garden variety BBQ that you might find at the typical chain, but not quite on par with the cream of the crop. We ordered brisket, pork ribs, mac-n-cheese, elote, loaded mashed potatoes, fried okra and a loaded baked potato. I preferred the ribs over the brisket, as some bites of the brisket were a bit thick/rubbery. The fried okra was pretty perfect, while the loaded mashed potatoes left a bit to be desired. Everything else was solid - not amazing, not bad. We definitely appreciated the complementary desserts: banana pudding, peach cobbler and a soft serve ice cream machine. All of them really hit the spot. We arrived a bit before the dinner rush on a Friday night and were about 15th in line. By the time we left, the line was 2-3x as long. But the good news is that the space is huge, so there's plenty of room for the massive amounts of red meat consumption that goes down here on a regular basis.

One word: Wow! Being from out of town. Hutchins did not disappoint. Texas bbq is next level and Hutchins is it! Great food and amazing service. Rec: beef ribs, brisket and the Texas Twinkie!

WOW! If you're looking for that Texas BBQ this place definitely has it!! Options for everyone and absolutely finger-licking good. We didn't have a lot of time in the area - so happy this was recommended to scratch that TBBQ itch.

Was looking to check out a new bbq spot to us and had never been to Hutchins before. Had to google the difference between Hutchins and Roy Hutchins - seems there was some family drama and dad went ahead and opened his own joint up, apparently the main difference is the wood they use and some of the prices. This location was closed to us. Hutchins is actually opening a new location in Spring 26 in Arlington - was suppose to open this summer. However we came a Friday afternoon, no line. Waay over ordered! The brisket was great. Preferred the jalapeño sausage over original. Texas Twinkle was delicious, huge compared to Hurtados - apparently cheaper at Hutchins. Didn't care for the pork ribs, TX ribs always suck - why don't they fall off the bone. Didn't care for many of the sides, you can fill up the boats as much as you like, just stuck with Mac. Tried the rolls, just stick with the free bread. The free dine in desserts were nice, peach cobbler and banana pudding. Curious to try Hutchins, waiting on the Arlington local to open! Would have been nice to sit outside - was too warm still. Nice environment inside.

Awesome BBQ. Awesome space. Great location. Plenty of available parking. The line to order goes out the door but it moves quickly. Must order the BRISKET and PORK RIBS. The SAUSAGES, MAC AND CHEESE, FRIED OKRA, FRIES and PICKLES are solid options! Their BROCCOLI SALAD is suprisingly great. The PEACH COBBLER is complementary! As well as the soft serve! Which means ice cream on a peach pie!!!!! You know it's a great BBQ joint if you see the smokers on site. Unlimited refills on the drinks. Staff are patient, friendly and helpful.

Food! So good, line moved pretty fast, I enjoyed the servers cutting the meat. This place is BUSY, here on a Friday. My hubby and I came here for a quick date and bite. Cool location, seemed to be well kept, eyes didn't burn too bad from the smoke. Bella and Natalie was so good and helpful with our table needs. We will definitely be back to this location. The dump cobbler was so good, the banana pudding is fresh and so good. Corn, Mac cheese, fries, green beans the best sides!

I flew into Dallas to drop off my grandson with my daughter and had a few hours before my return flight. We're both big BBQ fans, so we decided to grab a bite near the airport and spend a little time with the grandkids. For context, I'm a certified KCBS BBQ judge and run a small BBQ catering business. I'm not a self-proclaimed expert, but I know good barbecue when I see it. When we arrived, there was a short line for meats and a painfully slow-moving line for sides. I ordered the brisket burnt ends and the original smoked sausage. The sausage was solid--classic Texas-style, smoky, and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the burnt ends were a total lie. For anyone unfamiliar, proper burnt ends come from the point end of the brisket. After cooking low and slow for 10+ hours, the point is cubed, sauced, and returned to the smoker until the pieces are caramelized and tender with a bark you can taste. What I got was nothing close. I watched the guy behind the counter cut a chunk off a brisket, cube it, and serve it as "burnt ends."--just plain cubed brisket passed off as something it wasn't. That said, the service on the floor was excellent. Everyone working there was friendly, welcoming, and patient--even during the slower-moving lunch rush. I left highly disappointed. The guy passed one cheaper menu item for a more expensive item. How many customers might not realize the difference? My advice: if you know your BBQ, watch how it's prepared--especially when ordering burnt ends. This wasn't it.

We have driven past this BBQ restaurant dozens of times and had been debating stopping in but they are always so busy we haven't felt like waiting on any type of line. We finally stopped in for lunch on a weekend with almost no line! We have tried the "other" Roy Hutchins and were not super impressed even though I have coworkers who SWEAR by it. The process to order was very smooth and they even had a combo special which was appreciated. The meat was cut fresh to order too. Desserts are free for peach cobbler and banana pudding if you dine in. The peach cobbler is one of the better cobblers we have had. We chose to sit upstairs which was a little more quiet. My husband got some pulled pork, a texas twinkie, okra and some potato salad. I chose the brisket sandwich and mac and cheese. This mac and cheese was something of my dreamssss it was so creamy and flavorful. I'm knocking off a star because both times we have come here we thought the meat was a little bit dry, but the flavors were really great as well as the service.

I'm stuffed. This place is amazing. Not only was the food awesome, there is all you can eat peach cobbler, banana pudding, and soft serve ice cream to top it for you. We came right when it opened up and there was already a line, so this place is legit. It was clean, it was spacious, and it is massive, so a large party can feast. I recommend to try this place out.

We got the family pack, which was pretty worth the price for 4 people! Mac and cheese was so good. The brisket was my favorite! You have to get the fried okra!! Huge portions for that. I also loved the cheddar sausage! Another star for free desserts and soft serve!!

Happy to have finally visited this (Roy) Hutchins. I was in the area for the weekend so this is the perfect chance. Expected a much longer line but not complaining about how it isn't very busy like the other Hutchins. We ordered our staple. Pork ribs, a little brisket and Texas Twinkie. I eat my smoked meat without sauce, this is how I can convince my self if they can stand out without the help of any bbq sauce. It started well but after a few bites I needed to have a little umph in it. It was good but not until I needed to actually have to dunk it in the sauce. The Texas Twinkies were bigger than the other place but lacked on juiciness. It was dry and hard to eat like a said it needed sauce. Will I come back? Maybe if in the area but I'm not willing to drive this far for it.

Nice folks & the food isn't bad either. Ran out of Twinkie's brooooo. Creamy corn not bad. Chicken is good, brisket, I need to have moist not trim. Upstairs is nice.

The Texans do not play when it comes to their BBQ. It's damn good! The brisket just melts in your mouth. The fattier the better in my book. My brother suggested trying the Texas Twinkie (large Jalapeño stuffed with brisket and cream cheese wrapped in bacon) and the Jalapeño Cheddar sausage... didn't take much convincing. Anything Jalapeño is a must-try for me! They weren't spicy, packed the perfect punch of flavor. The Mac was good (not the best I've had), the corn was alright (not my fave), and the corn bread was good. I was starving when I placed my order so I ordered a little more than I could handle. My leftovers were practically a whole new meal. The guys behind the counter were super friendly and answered all of my questions without making me feel like a bother. The place is big, very spacious, plenty of seating inside and outside. Apparently I missed a spectacular view of the sunset from the top floor with my nephew while I was in the restroom washing my hands. Bummer! Oh! & as if they couldn't get any better... they offered all you could eat dessert! Your choice of Banana Pudding or Peach Cobbler!!! Plus, ice cream to top them off. I went back for seconds of that Peach Cobbler that's for sure. Yum! This is my nephew's favorite BBQ joint and the kid knows his food (he's four). His parents taught him well! We love food!

The food was delicious. We had so many items. My top choice was the pulled pork. The fried okra was AMAZING. The TX Twinkie was delish. My only suggestion is the bacon could be cooked more and I would prefer less fatty slices. We tried both desserts but they are not pictured. The peach cobbler (dump cake) was my favorite! The banana pudding has a funny aftertaste. We drove 200 miles to get here and will definitely return.

Decided to stop by here and give it a try after all of the social media buzz. I flew into Dallas and headed straight here. The service was great when ordering the food. You order at the counter for the meats and then it's a self serve line for the sides and dessert. This place lives up to the hype tenfold. The beef rib, brisket and Texas Twinkie were great. The mashed potato's were very good and the Mac and cheese was just ok. The area was nice and spacious with family like seating. The dining area had the NBA playoffs on all tvs which was a bonus. Definitely understand why everyone posts about this place.

We ate here tonight for my dad's birthday and it did not disappoint! I had turkey with a side of mac and cheese and elote, which was all great. It's $3.75 for a side cup and you're able to mix and match and fill it as much as you want which I thought was a great deal. They also have free peach cobbler and banana pudding if you dine-in which was also delicious! I will say, it is a little hectic in there because it's small and there are lots of people coming up and down the stairs with big trays of food, but the service was good regardless.
