The Otis @ Austin provided my family a fantastic stay. We were checked in with ease and were given a wonderful room on a high floor. All rooms were cozy and comfortable for our one nigh stay. I came here specifically to give shout outs to Matt and Jay from the restaurant. Jay, our server was outstanding, kind, and thoughtful. The manager of the restaurant, Matt, has shown to successfully run a compassionate team. Another shout out goes to Key. Sadly she didn't check us in, but we were greeted by her sunshine smile and personality upon check out. I can see the extra mile that she takes to make customers of the Otis feel welcomed, even for their departure. I would highly recommend all staying here. The location was nice, the views from the rooftop pool were splendid, the rooms were cozy and clean. What else can I say that hasn't been said already? Book your stay now!

Google
Ambiance in the reception area all the way to restaurant is great. Rooms are cozy, the restroom is at the entrance of the room is basically the inside of the bath area but once you get over that you can appreciate the rest of the room! The record player in the room is a really great addition and having access to the record library (you can go to the lobby and check out as many as you want) was really neat.

Google
Marriott in general and the quality of customer service has declined. I called when the reason for the stay was cancelled due to weather to see if I could cancel or move my stay to a future date and was told no and given zero help. I thought I had called the hotel directly. So with no other choice, I kept the reservation and took a friend. We had a great time in Austin. The hotel was comfortable, Summer giving out the albums was delightful, the rooftop bar/pool provides a lovely view, valet was courteous and quick. The redeeming factor was upon check out. Trent Means asked a very simple question when I was handing in my keys "Is there anything we can do better?" I asked if he wanted an honest response and then told him that while I have no regrets, I wish the hotel had been more understanding. HIS response and concern and solutions were incredible. Marriott as a whole needs more people like Trent. This hotel is on the pricier side. And we were told that we had a $25 resort fee that could be used multiple ways. I thought one was food or drinks but the credit was not applied. So needs more clarification on how to use the fee/voucher.

Words cannot express how amazing our stay was at The Otis. My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and from the moment I walked in I was greeted by Trent at the front desk. Super smooth check in, we got upgraded to a corner room with a view of downtown!! Was the best room ever! And then got a sweet welcome gift of wine and chocolates for our anniversary!!! They even have a record player in each room and give you a custom record playlist for your stay. So thoughtful! Rooftop pool and view were amazing!! During the day we had it all to ourselves and at night was a great vibe. Acre 41 restaurant was awesome. And we truly loved every second we spent here. Honestly so much more than we could ever thought. We will 100000% be back. Thank you staff for such a great experience!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at your AC Hotel, and I’d like to highlight the outstanding service I received from your front desk associate, Keyana. From the moment I arrived, Keyana made me feel genuinely welcomed. Her professionalism, warmth, and local insight were remarkable. She went above and beyond in recommending incredible food and entertainment options that made my time in the city unforgettable — every suggestion was spot-on. Keyana is a shining example of what true hospitality looks like. Her attentiveness, enthusiasm, and care for guests elevated my entire experience. She is a tremendous asset to your team and deserves to be recognized. Please pass along my sincerest appreciation to her. Warm regards, Jack Dash

Our recent stay at The Otis was made memorable by the outstanding service we received, especially from Trenton. From the moment we arrived, he set the tone for what true hospitality should feel like. He was accommodating, kind, and patient, making sure every part of our stay felt personal and cared for. If I owned a hotel, Trenton would be the standard for service that I would expect every team member to meet. He genuinely made a lasting impression. Overall, the service throughout the hotel, from the front desk to the restaurant, was consistently warm and welcoming. The restaurant staff were pleasant and attentive, and breakfast was solid. I would absolutely dine there again. The location is also convenient with plenty of quick spots nearby, and nothing was more than a short drive away. One feature that really stood out was the vinyl record collection available for guests. It added such a cool, personal touch to the space. I would love to see the collection expanded with more R&B, soul, and hip hop records to really make the experience even more special for a wider range of guests. There were a few areas where the hotel could improve to match the level of service the team provides: • Housekeeping could be more consistent. Turn down service missed a few details, including not providing the full towel set one day, not sweeping the floors, and leaving the showers feeling like they had not been properly refreshed between uses. • The rooftop space, while offering a decent view, felt neglected. The chairs needed cleaning, there were cups left on the floor, and some guests were putting their feet up on the tables, which took away from the experience. • The rooms are stylish but small. Every room follows the same layout, with the bathroom positioned directly by the front door, which may not be ideal for everyone. It was manageable for us, but if you are traveling with larger luggage or simply prefer more space, booking the largest room available would be a smart move. • The gym was well-equipped and a good size, and the complimentary bottled water was a thoughtful touch. Despite a few areas for improvement, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff truly carried the experience. Trenton, in particular, turned what could have been an ordinary stay into something we will remember. His effort and genuine care left a lasting impression, and because of that, we would absolutely return.

My experience at The Otis Hotel Autograph Collection was beyond exceptional, upon arrival KD at the front desk was extremely helpful and made check in a breeze. Even though we’d arrived way too early, he got us a room very quickly. Not only that but because we were celebrating our anniversary this amazing gentleman KD had a bottle sent up to our room!! He literally made our stay, very informative about what to do in Austin. This. hotel is amazing!!! Thank you for an unforgettable stay!! Will definitely be recommending!!

Google
Lovely classy hotel with great amenities. Roof top swimming pool and bar was a bonus! We held a 2 day event and the staff were attentive and went beyond for us and our attendees! The bar staff were friendly and so knowledgeable. For me KD at reception stood out as although we were early for check in sorted us out and upgraded us. Not to mention he solved a refund issue with vouchers and that was really thoughtful of him and convenient for us. Here is a pick of him so see him for all your stay needs! He is the man!

Yelp
I honestly don't know where to start. The service that was provided from this team and staff were absolutely above par in everything they did for us. Started off when I was supposed to have an upgraded room. I went back downstairs and told them I was in the wrong room. They took care of it right away. Then once our conference started which was all on property. Travis's team absolutely WOWed us all. From the chef making us delicious food for the weeks events. To taking it up a notch when I didn't see anything I liked for one of the lunches. The chef was watching and came up to me. Ask me what I wanted, what I disliked and came back with a fresh new sandwich custom to me. Travis and his team were on it. When it came to our game night. His whole staff dressed up with us. His attention to detail for all the rooms made it very engaging for our teams. Top top notch service with food, details with cleaning, and at the end of the day making sure if anything additional needed were met. His team would take care of it. Thank you Travis and his team. What an amazing job. I honestly don't know how anyone or team will be able to top this for our next conference.

Yelp
This hotel gives ALL the vibes, ALL of them! We stayed during the Texas relays, and everything was perfect. Immediately greeted when checking in, was offered champagne and was upgraded to a city view on a high floor. They don't have an M-Lounge, so we were given breakfast vouchers instead. Rooms are a decent size and really cute. As others stated, the shower is in an open space, so birthday suits will definitely be shown if people walk in and out of the room...HA! The room had a record player , and you can check out records to play, but our stay was too short to take advantage. Now, this rooftop, though!!! I spent all afternoon and evening up there. It's absolutely gorgeous and has a fire pit and heat lamps if needed. Add a bar, food, pool, cabanas, light music and a view.... yall know where I'll be! Breakfast is menu only, and something about those scrambled eggs and their breakfast potatoes wants me to return for just that. I can't speak for lunch or dinner, but as a non breakfast person, it was very good! Lots of places in walking distance, so no worries having to leave the immediate area if you don't want to. Again, we loved it and wish we were there more than 1 night. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Yelp
I love the Otis! It was my go to hotel for work travel but as Austin is very price sensitive, the Fall prices for most downtown hotels fell out of policy for me so as soon as it was back in - I booked! Great service - begins at valet - there is also self parking and easy check in! Also love that lobby scent which seems to. E available as a spray! Nice cozy room with modern features - record player in room and you can pick records from the stand in the lobby! Comfortable bed and large modern shower! Rooms are quiet which I appreciate! Great service - there are insight restaurants, a roof top bar which currently has those plastic igloos to help keep you warm and fantastic room service! Love their poke tacos !! Cannot wait to be back here and already have another week booked !!

Yelp
Great bar and bartenders. Can't go wrong when you find a place that serves Blanton's.

Yelp
Booked a night at the Otis due to its proximity to the Moody Center and because it looked like a cute, hip little hotel. We were in town to see Dave Chappelle and didn't want to have to drive all the way back to Round Rock after the show. We took our dogs with us since it is dog friendly. The hotel looks just as photogenic in person as in the photos and we found all the staff friendly and helpful. The room has a slightly unusual layout in that you enter in the bathroom area, then pass through a barn door to the bedroom. The room is well-appointed with a record player which you can play LPs borrowed from their extensive collection. They have someone to find the perfect tunes based on your preferences, but we never saw them. There is also a nespresso machine and pods for morning coffee. The bathroom is lovely and has lots of little details I liked, including lights that come on when you enter the room, makeup remover towelettes, and a little accessory kit with a nail file, q-tips, cotton balls, etc. The hotel is close enough to walk back to from the Moody, even in four inch heels, lol. There is a P. Terry's and a Chick-fil-A across the street, so you can eat on the cheap if you want, but the food at 41 Acres is worth staying in for! We had the Wonton tacos, burrata, and a burger while there and everything was delicious! Happy hour makes it an economical choice. The only negative is that as a dog friendly hotel, I'd call them more dog tolerant. We had to ask for dog bowls for the room, even though I had called the day of to tell the front desk that I was bringing two dogs. They only sent up one set of bowls when I asked for some. There is not really any place to go relieve your pets except for the LDS church office a block away, and they didn't provide any dog beds for them. The fee for dogs is $100/ stay, regardless of the number of dogs. Kimpton properties don't charge for pets and always have beds, bowls, and toys in the room, treats at the front desk, etc. It is a wonderful stay for the humans, though! Go enjoy the rooftop pool and bar, especially at sunset. We didn't get to, so do it for us!

Yelp
The bartender gave me a drink with a huge chunk of glass in it and gave my friend a glass that was chipped on the rim. There is no quality control. For as expensive as it is there they need to do a better job.

Yelp
I really hate leaving a one star review anywhere, ever; but I just have to be honest. This hotel stay was the biggest letdown I've ever experienced. All if the promises regarding in-room vinyl and playlist curation were all false. We had to wait HOURS and make 3+ requests before we could get a bucket of ice delivered to the room. Honestly, i wish I could be more thorough, but it would be too depressing to have to re-live it. My boyfriend and I spent $1k combined at this hotel (room rate + dinner + bar for ONE NIGHT), and we both agreed that we would've been happier at a $75 Comfort Inn and put our money toward an actual vacation where hotel staff knew how to treat their guests. It was all smoke and mirrors here. Poor commmunication between the agents on the app and the actual physical staff present at the hotel. There is a major disconnect there. When we asked to check out a couple of records, we were told the "music currator" "Just walked off and left for the day" but we could stream to the record player from our phones! Whatever we wanted! (Obviously I'm being sarcastic.) Uh, yeah, of course we can. That's what the bluetooth speaker in my luggage is for. It's not the same sound and experience as a vinyl record. The way they sell this music-lover's "ammenity" is just writing on their marketing materials and branding and not something they follow though with. Just a terrible stay all around & HUGE letdown even ignoring the ginormous waste of money.

Yelp
This place is a total vibe. As soon as you walk in there's great music, vinyl in your room, and for a really good price! Will be back I think I found my spot in Austin

Yelp
My husband and I took a one-night getaway to Austin, and we opted to try this Marriott property. They are easy to get to, and you can choose from self-parking or valet. We like to get in and go, so we opted to self-park--only a $10 difference. Upon check-in for the suite they wouldn't allow me to checkin early even with my platinum status. However, we did get a 4pm checkout. I did opt for breakfast instead of extra point. I forgot to take pictures of our food but the food was good. You can choose anything from the menu. We did the eggs your way. Came with 2eggs bacon or sausage, toast and potatoes. I love how they did their potatoes. We booked a corner suite. The layout was interesting in the sense you walk into the shower area of the restroom when you enter the room but the room is nice and we enjoyed our stay. The bed was comfortable and with it being a corner suite with lots of windows the room stayed cool. The room has a record player and you can checkout vinyls in the lobby if that's your thing. The lobby features a bar and restaurant. They have a rooftop pool with bar and lounge area. Good views.

Yelp
Staying here for a conference and I'm blown away by the customer service! Tasha at the front desk rolled out the red carpet for me - amazing customer service, friendly, and so incredibly helpful. They are the best in the biz for hospitality! The records are a nice touch, too! All I can say is WOW!

Yelp
The Otis Hotel, what an awesome place! I was in town for a three day conference onsite at The Otis and loved every minute of it! Excellent service - friendly and helpful staff Modern and hip decor LOVED my room - spacious, cool and clean! Good food & restaurant service I was particularly impressed with the maid service. After my first night, I returned to my room to find it spotless and more organized than I left it. I had tossed my suitcase on the floor, over in the corner and when I returned, it was neatly placed on the suitcase bench. I hope I can return to The Otis, it's lovely. 5 stars

Yelp
Regrettably, our experience at this hotel left much to be desired. The staff did not come across as very welcoming. We initially chose this establishment due to its appealing boutique vinyl music theme, but upon arrival, we discovered that our record player cable was damaged. To our dismay, our one-night stay came at a hefty price, a rate of $257 was confirmed when I called to book. With the addition of taxes and a non-refundable $100 non-refundable pet fee, our final bill amounted to $417. It was disappointing to learn after our stay that both pet fees and overnight parking were subject to taxes, as we were unaware of this during booking. We had hoped for some special considerations for our petite 7lb dog, but unfortunately, none were provided. There were no dog water bowls available, and the absence of a designated area with grass for our furry friend to relieve themselves was disappointing. Their website says: "To make their stay paw-fect, we offer everything your pup will need, including plush beds, take-home dog toys, and more." For a $100 nonrefundable deposit, we did not receive any of what they mention. Elevators had spilled drinks, and even wet floor at the front desk when we checked out the next day. I must say their rooftop pool floor had a nice atmosphere, though last call for food/drinks was around 10pm. Most of their dining restaurants also closed at 10pm, so we ended up picking up dinner nearby to-go and ate in our rooms. We don't mind paying when we are on a vacation, but please don't take advantage of your customers. Would not recommend this hotel. There are other great hotels around Austin. We should have just stayed at a resort instead!

Yelp
Stayed for an overnight before an international flight, left a bag on the chair and did not remember to grab it on the way out. The staff somehow had no idea where it may be and did ZERO follow up when contacted. If you do NOT want your items stolen then do not stay at this hotel!!!!
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
I love this place! The decor players, the records! The rooms! The service. Centrally located! The rooftop pool and bar! What's NOT to LOVE! Will definitely return!!

Yelp
This hotel defines Austin. I think it's cool that each room has its own vinyl player and allows you to rent vinyls to play in your room. The hotel has 2 bars (lobby bar & rooftop pool bar). Also a restaurant on site, it's connected to the AC Hotel which is also apart of the Marriot Bonvoy. Only giving it 4/5 stars, because i think the rate of hotel doesn't justify the amount you get. I would think for the rate we paid, it would have been a 5 star resort.
google avatar

Moni M.

Yelp
After a horrific night at the adjoining AC Hotel we needed a good breakfast. Sadly the dreadful train kept chugging along. First, the waitstaff was delightfully pleasant! I ordered avocado toast, coffee, cold pressed juice and potatoes. The avocado toast was quite lovely! Sadly the potatoes never came... The coffee was BEYOND terrible?! My husband always drink his coffee black and he said it was disgustingly unsafe to drink?! I tried it with a bit of cream it tasted like it was reheated and harshly bitter! He had breakfast biscuits. They were cold, dry and brittle. If not for the juice we might have completely walked out. We both dropped our heads in disgust, paid and left. We lived in Lakeway a few years back and frequently visited several restaurants across Austin. This might have been the worst dining experience to date.

Yelp
Booked this hotel due to its proximity to the Moody Center. It was parent's weekend at UT so cost with tax was $900/night. I thought it would be fun to splurge on a luxury hotel for a couple of nights. Do not be fooled, there is nothing luxury about The Otis. We spent 2 nights, and I would never return and never recommend. Rooms are TINY and very basic. Standard mid-tier hotel mattress and linens, dreadful pillows, and single ply toilet paper. The bed and bedding are standard Marriott quality that you will find at Courtyard or Residence Inn level. Pillows are so bad I woke up both nights with head pain - not a headache, but painful spots on my head caused by the pillows. Room layout is weird. You open the front door and are standing in the bathroom. Sink on your left and shower and toilet on the right. That means when someone is in the shower, you cannot exit the room without disturbing their privacy. Apparently, all the rooms have this odd floorplan. Furnishings are basic, expect the same fit, fixtures, and decor that you will find anywhere. Acre 41, the restaurant downstairs is barely mediocre. We ordered the pork chop - was served raw in the middle, Prime Rib - cold, unseasoned, and very, very tough. The prime rib was so tough it was hard to cut. Filet - lacked seasoning but well prepared and tasted good. Mashed potatoes and french fries were good. The apple tart was so old it was hard as a rock on not edible. We threw away at least 70% of that meal. The positive was the staff were generally nice and accommodating. They had a bottle of wine in our room as a welcome, unfortunately it was spoiled and had to be thrown away. But it was a nice gesture. The little turntables in each room and the vinyl album lending library were a fun touch. Bottom line is that, at the Otis' price point, I expected a really nice hotel and Otis did not delivery anything close to an upscale experience. Quite honestly, we visit Baylor a lot and the rooms at the Courtyard and Hilton in Waco are actually nicer. The lobby is nice, the people are nice, the location is great so it's a shame that Otis cannot deliver anything more than a tiny, poorly laid out room, crappy bedding, and meh food. I could go on and on about how disappointing this place is, but you get the point. When checkout time came, I couldn't wait to leave, it was that bad.

Yelp
From the moment I walked into the lobby I really loved this hotel and the best part is that it is part of the Marriott brand so I got points for my stay. Very efficient and friendly check in. They have a cool record (vinyl) section in the lobby where you can check out some vinyls to play on a record player in your room. Nice touch being that you are in Austin. Room is very modern, chic and clean. Bed is super comfy. The room has a safe but no fridge but other than that I loved the layout and all the amenities in the room. They have a roof top bar/pool Otopia that has a great view of the city. When you check in they even tell you the time of the sunset so you can check out the rooftop area and have a drink or two. They have a beautiful restaurant onsite Acre 41 which had some unique cocktails and an awesome menu. Definitely order the truffle spaghetti. Hotel has valet and self-parking garage. There's a lot of fast food restaurants within walking distance but not really walking distance to restaurants but it's still close to downtown. This is now on my list of hotels to stay at when I'm in Austin.

Yelp
Was so very impressed to bring our Oil and gas conference executives to the Otis Hotel for two days of impeccable standards in service. From board meetings to general session and food and beverage events the high quality of service provided by the property and its team was flawless. We hosted over 200 during the event along with vip executives and elected officials and worked with their team to make it flow and impress. Danielle in sales along with Annie as our event partner went far and beyond in assuring our guests leave with an experience of Austin white glove Service. The General Manager Tom was visibly present every day in various locations which proves his commitment to leadership Chef helped us develop small changes to a menu that had guests and vip speakers raving We cannot express how truly grateful we are for helping us put an amazing program together and look forward to partnering for a future event.

Yelp
Great location and roof top bar ! The decor and vibe is in experience in itself . My favorite place to stay when visiting Austin
google avatar

Lara C.

Yelp
Great chic hotel right near campus. This hotel has a lot of character and rooms are updated as well. You can borrow records from the lobby to bring up to your room. I also enjoyed the restaurant in the lobby for breakfast. Staff is friendly and valet was super fast!

Cassidy M.

Yelp
Amazing experience at the concierge there was the most welcoming women named Joy and she made my stay amazing highly recommend.

Jay H.

Yelp
A friend and I had a total of six drinks at the bar and we were charged $214.34. Unbelievable, especially since it's a cheesy place. There are hundreds of other places to spend way less for a decent bar experience in Austin. I complained to the manager and she apparently had zero managerial power. Total ripoff.
google avatar

Ron R.

Yelp
This a very stylish hotel. You do pay for that. Neither my wife or I slept well. Bed was too firm and pillows too floppy and lacked support. The rooms are small and have too much extemporaneous whoo ha around. You did feel like there was a place to sit or set anything down. The turntable is a unique idea, but we would rather have the space. Bathroom is huge.
google avatar

Viv G.

Yelp
If I could give this 10 stars I would. Such amazing ambiance, impeccable service, and the food at the bar was amazing!!! A true gem! The record players in each room is such a nice nostalgia and very cool that you can check out tons of records. Rooftop pool is beautiful.
google avatar

Betsy M.

Yelp
Super cool Marriott Autograph in downtown Austin! The rooms were modern and very clean and spacious. My favorite feature however was that every room had a turntable. You could check out records from the "vinyl master" in the lobby. How cool is it to listen to records when you're getting ready in the morning! Additionally the hotel had an amazing rooftop bar with a pool that served swanky drinks and great food. Since we had such a large group I'm sure we were unruly but the service was fantastic! There was also a nice bar and restaurant in the lobby. Highly recommended stay at this hotel.
google avatar

Shari S.

Yelp
Customer service here is awesome (minus one bartender woman). The decor and layout are beautiful! The vinyls for loan are such a nice touch. They honor Marriott status here which is great. The rooftop is beautiful and so is the pool. The gym looked great with new equipment and some gym staples that you don't find in gym hotels. The rooftop bar has a really you'll drink menu The location has tons of fast food restaurants near by. They're not far from 6th street (that's where the action is). There is a restaurant on the premise Acre 41 BUT I DO NOT recommend for dinner. We truly thought it was terrible which was so unfortunate because based on the reviews we expected good food! Anywho, if you're thinking of staying here do it! Just eat dinner elsewhere.

Yelp
Amazing hotel and 1 amazing TEAMl!! I have stayed at the Otis a few times for work and then we decided to host our son's rehearsal dinner there. From the front desk, event planners, restaurant, bar, house keeping, valet and event staff servers, we were blown away! Our families were all so impressed with this hotel and their 5 Star Service! I travel weekly and I alway stay at Marriott's, so I am used to being a little spoiled but last week was amazing. After setting up for our rehearsal dinner, we prepared for our guests to arrive. I walked into the ballroom and the event staff we all standing with napkins over the arm- butler style service...ready to serve our guest. You could say I got choked up....When people love and serve your loved ones so well, it's almost overwhelming! Thank you Otis Staff! You're one A M A Z I N G T E A M !

Yelp
On a business trip to Austin and stayed at the hotel. After checkout, they charged my corporate card for a meal I never had and now will not rectify the situation claiming that the transaction is between the hotel and my companies bank...whatever that means. They transfered me around and never could speak to anyone in accounting. Nice hotel but not helpful at all w/ phantom charges and poor customer services. Now stuck w/ a $1200 bill that my company won't reimburse. I will never stay here again !!

Yelp
Love this place and the vibe. The bar downstairs had amazing service and food. Speaking of food, the Halibut was some of the best I've had. Our room was clean. Loved the record player- such a unique touch. Rooftop bar was pretty cool. Drinks were not as good as the lobby bar. But loved the atmosphere outside. Will definitely stay there again.

Yelp
Wide open bar area near the pool. Perfect for having a drink and intelligent conversation. Or just for day drinking and busting ur buddies cajones. They have great drinks prices very reasonably and good views of downtown

Yelp
Great stay. Service was top notch. Great location for the kids with easy food options across the street. Nice rooftop bar/pool area. Clean rooms, nice gym with Peloton, small boutique and quiet, never have to wait more than a minute for an elevator. Vinyl record player with tons of options from New Order to Cardi B and whatever your ears desire. Would stay and recommend.

Yelp
Today my girlfriend and I made reservations through resort pass to hangout at the pool. Unfortunately there was a malfunction with the pool so we had to wait 2 hours before going back in. Meanwhile the front desk, bartender at the pool and our waiter still managed to make our experience enjoyable. They were very accommodating and super nice. We have never stayed here but will definitely be back to stay! Amazing staff!!!

Yelp
The hotel itself is great. I had the sliding bathroom glass door come off the hanger and hit the floor trapping my son in the bathroom with glass cracking and terrifying us for our safety. Hotel staff handele things well, but not sure I will stay here on my next trip to Austin, as there is a serious design defect.

Yelp
There was a lot of good here but also some bad. We spend a lot of time in Austin and this was our first time here. This is absolutely No comparison to the JW or Fairmont where we usually stay. They did their best but it started off a little bit of a disaster. The Hotel itself is very pretty. The lobby is nice. The hotel itself feels like a nice boutique hotel. Smaller and trendy. The rooms are nicely decorated but they offer absolutely zero privacy to the bathroom which you walk into directly from the hallway. Yes that's correct when you walk in your room your sink is right at the front door and the shower is in the hallway leading to your room . If you are with friends this is extremely inconvenient as they have to walk by you in the shower to get to the outside hallway. The stay started badly. We needed two queens but had booked a king. The girl at the front desk told us she was sold out and could offer us to rent another king room. I proceeded to show her that I was able to book a two queen room on my app and on every other site and said I would go ahead and book it online and she could then cancel my king room at which time she immediately "found" us a room with two queens which happened to be a handicap room. I had absolutely zero issue with having a handicap room but I was honestly unhappy by the fact that she changed her tone so quickly when I decided to look online. Well it went downhill a few hours later. My wife went to put our little kids in the shower and the shower curtain had what looked like vomit on it. Little chunks of food and bile. Admittedly this was in between the curtain and the tub so it was not apparent unless you pulled the curtain away from the tub but it was still pretty gross. We immediately dressed our kids and I went to the front desk. The only saving grace was the manager Miles who immediately put us in another room. He was cordial and understanding and immediately diffused what was an angry customer. From there unfortunately the valet took more than twenty five minutes to get our car and I was again thinking I made a mistake staying here. As I mentioned above the place is nice and they seem to try hard. I really wanted to give them four stars because the manager was so nice but they pretty much failed in some of the most important aspects of the stay. Obviously I will not stay here again but it was a learning experience. If they can get their act together it would be a four to four and a half stars but even then it's definitely no JW.

Yelp
I made a spontaneous trip to Austin and preferred a dog-friendly Marriott property. I've done the W, Loft, and JW, but I was happy to see that there was a new dog-friendly joint in town. The Otis is new and on West Campus. I used to stay a lot at AT&T on campus, and I know this place will give it a run for its money. The location is great. I never had a problem with street parking, and it's close to Lamar and I-35. You can walk to campus or grab something really good to eat in any direction. The property is chic, and while I imagine a lot of people will make it a party hotel, it's not as big as Van Zandt or the W where it will get overwhelming. I expect it to be more like other boutique Marriott properties like 11 Howard or The Edition. The hospitality was lovely. They were very happy and friendly to see me, which was a nice welcome after getting off a flight. I was also provided a kind, thoughtful welcome gift in my room, and the staff loved on my pup Marvin. Everyone from the front desk, concierge, housekeeping, bellhop, valet, and Otopia staff were so sweet to my best fur friend. The room was very spacious, and I loved the layout. I liked the furnishings, linens, and record player, and having a door separate the entry way from the bedroom made for an extremely quiet night's rest. Acre 41 the bar was great, I wish I could have stayed longer to try an old fashioned. The rooftop bar Otopia is nice, not too big, and the menu has good variety. Thank you for making my short stay in Austin top-notch and personable!I

Yelp
We stayed here a few months ago and still talk about what great memories we had. The highlights included: a friendly welcome by the reception staff and resident vinyl ambassador named Jack, AKA a very intriguing and genuine music enthusiast, who set our trip off on a good start and had us listening and feeling great vibes the entire time! Worth a mention: the burrata appetizer at the whisky bar in the lobby. We hope to come chill again soon!

Yelp
My friend Stab has Been asking me to visit him in Austin TX for 13 years. It just happened to be my brother in laws birthday, so we all decided to go. Well, we booked 2 rooms at this amazing hotel called THE OTIS AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION HOTEL, we didn't realize it was only open for about 2-3 weeks. Let's get to the review part. First, I am going to start with the staff, literally some of the best service I've ever had in any environment. Hotel, restaurant etc. I wish I had names for you but there would be to many to post. I felt like Everyone took ownership and treated us the way they would want to be treated. Polite, friendly, caring, informative, awesome experience. Next we had a great experience at the roof top bar, pool etc. Amazing view of downtown Austin and great service with a full bar and awesome atmosphere, if you feel like swimming there's a pool as well on the roof top. You want to work out, they have a state of the art workout gym.. Next, The restaurant and bar on the first floor is also really warm but cheek but elegant etc. we had a breakfast at the hotel everyday and let me tell you about a few things that are a must - 1) Homemade Biscuits - I've never been a fan of them but regardless of whether you like biscuits or not - YOU HAVE TO ORDER THESE, you will be hooked. They are like nothing you've ever had. Trust me you will love them. Everything we had for breakfast was perfect, to much to mention but everyone loved what they ate. So just find something you like order it and I'm sure you will be happy. The bar also has great drinks if your feeling like having one or two or three haha. Anyways I'm sure you get the point, if you are coming to Austin, this is the place so I'm giving them 5 STARS for taking care of us like fami

Yelp
Atmosphere and decor is really impressive. Def great views if you are touring Austin or UT Austin campus. Rooms are cozy as well! My only ehh is for the price of the drinks I wish they had something more "designer"? Drinks felt too basic. Everything else was fabulous

Yelp
Whit Hamilton - one of the managers at the OTIS single handedly saved this review from being a one star. The good parts - LOCATION, fellow guests, Mr. Hamilton. The bad parts - other managers (George?) and the service is awful. Took multiple calls to get ice. Housekeeping never came (and no, we did not have the Do Not Disturb sign on!) Understaffed and horrible service.

Yelp
I am a new frequent traveler of Austin and I'm not yet sure about choosing the Otis as my hotel of choice. My daughter's UT orientation required me to stay at the Otis with her and my son. The hotel looks amazing, the location is great, the rooms are awesome, and the rooftop is beautiful! The restaurant, however was a disappointment. Being the only visible African American in the lobby, the hallways, and the restaurant, it has never dawned on me that race was a possible customer service flaw. We were seated immediately, and we waited 20 minutes before we exited the restaurant. No one came to the table. It wasn't a busy time. No one addressed us leaving; people looked at us and continued eating. We grabbed burgers from the attached burger spot outside. We had to walk back through the restaurant/lobby area with our burger bags. No one addressed never serving us. I felt really uncomfortable. I'm wondering if ever Marriott in Austin is like this. Should I abandon my rewards account before I trust Marriott as a hotel?

Yelp
Gorgeous lobby, nice rooms. But I would not choose again due to 4:00 checkin. Got here at 2:30. Room not ready. Our event is at 5.

Yelp
My wife and I recently stayed at The Otis Hotel for the first time and it was amazing. Matt was extremely helpful with checking us in and getting us familiar with the layout of the hotel. My wife, who is an avid music lover, enjoyed the wide selection of vinyl albums. Matt, who seemed to be a music lover himself, was again very helpful. We also went to Otopia, the rooftop bar. Our server, Julissa, was very attentive to what we needed, had a great personality, and answered all of our questions considering this was our first visit. The drinks and the tartare were really good. Overall The Otis Hotel experience was memorable and we will be returning in the near future.

Yelp
Such a wonderful experience at the Otis! The staff could not have been friendlier, specifically Avery at the door. He consistently went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. The record players in the room, while at first I thought was gimmicky, but actually was a lovely addition to my stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The lobby was beautiful and the rooftop sunset and bar was incredible! Will definitely be staying at the Otis next time I'm in Austin.

Yelp
The one star reviews are from people who did not stay there, they just don't like construction which is part of being in any big city - sorry. I checked in on day two and was very pleased. Prior to opening, I received an email asking my recording artists and was greeted with a selection of vinyl from them. There was a record player in the room with a competent speaker system to play them on. It was a nice touch, however it also plays Bluetooth so next trip, that's my plan. I cannot overstate how welcoming the staff was to me and my Longhorn daughter who lives on the block. They familiarized themselves with who we were, where we were from, my daughter's major, where she got her eyelash extensions, my hometown, my musical likes - everything to make you feel at home. One of the lovely front desk managers recommended a show we were seeing at Bass (Come From Away) and was more than happy to talk to us about it. The room was a bit small, but well appointed and well laid out. I was alone and it was perfect. Perhaps a bit small for 2 but no different from a midtown NYC room. The shower was large, plenty of bath space and an ample desk. My daughter and i had dinner at Acre 41, we shared Tuna Tartar Tacos and a Burrata Cheese appetizer, she had Wagu steak and I had a Caesar salad with Salmon and a key lime dessert. All very nicely done. At night, there are a series of pleasant bars, one in the lobby that I went to. Great bartenders who seemed to put care into their cocktail selection. I had a Mexican draft beer that was crisp and cold. All of the prices were reasonable for Austin, cheap for a major metropolitan city. There is a Bar / Club on the top floor that I check out but, as one who does not like heights, left really quickly. The gym has several Pelotons which, had this been 10 years ago, I would have tried. I however, did not. Wish I did, but I didn't. If you have a LH on Campus, this is the best choice. I often stay at the ATT but this is closer and you don't feel like you have to make your way to a Six Sigma Seminar. I look forward to my future trips.

Yelp
Interesting hotel. Modern vibe with some retro elements. Rooms are modern design with lots of hard surfaces. But there's a record player in the room and a library of records to borrow in the lobby. Restaurant is decent, although we only had breakfast there. Roof top deck is nice. Very close to UT Austin (Bullock Art Collection, LBJ Museum) and Texas State History Museum, but driving distance to most other things. Parking is typical high-priced for a urban area. Service was COVID-restricted, but available and helpful when requested.

Yelp
Confortable hotel , nice breakfast, when you walk into the room the bathroom is right there , kinda odd. Not sure if I'll be staying again.....
