The Oyster Club by Adam Stokes

"The name says it all: this is a place that’s passionate about oysters. They arrive here from several sources, provide fresh, pure flavours, and are presented either natural or dressed. There’s a whole host of other top-notch seafood on offer too, in understated, classically based dishes like Dover sole with capers and brown butter. A choice of caviars and a fine selection of champagnes complete the checklist of luxury items, which is matched by the plush dining room with marble-topped tables and counter seating." - Michelin Inspector

The Oyster Club Review - Back Bay - Boston - The Infatuation

"The Oyster Club is a high-end seafood restaurant in that part of the city just south of the Public Garden that no one knows whether to call Back Bay, Bay Village, Downtown, or the Theater District. It’s a place with big leather chairs that will probably be pretty popular with business travelers and people paying with corporate cards who might call them “snazzy.” The menu is pretty standard for a New England seafood place, with a little bit of a throwback bent thanks to things like oysters rockefeller and lobster casserole. It’s all perfectly fine food, but there are plenty of other seafood restaurants nearby that are better and more fun." - Dan Secatore

We had booked dinner and arrived for pre dinner cocktails. We were early on a Saturday evening so it was a little quiet but it is a great place to relax and enjoy a pre dinner drink. We ordered oysters and then monkfish and skate followed by panna cotta and sticky toffee pudding. The food is great at a good price and we throughly enjoyed it. The service was polite, friendly and prompt. We had a great time so thanks to the team !

💎 Our recommendations: * Beetroot Salad * Whole Dover Sole (on the bone) Here’s what we ordered: 🍽 Beef Tartare / Beetroot Salad This classic dish was served with toast on the side. It was decent, but the Beetroot Salad stole the spotlight! The salad came with whipped yogurt and a sprinkle of breadcrumbs. The white beetroots, naturally sweeter, added an unexpected and delightful twist to the dish—absolutely delicious! 🍽 Whole Dover Sole (on the bone) Our main course was visually stunning, served with loads of capers and brown shrimp. Despite the generous amount of brown butter, the capers perfectly balanced the flavours, so it didn’t feel too heavy. 🍽 Lamb Rump I ordered the lamb rump cooked to medium, but unfortunately, it arrived fully cooked. 😔 Since I hate wasting food, I decided to enjoy it as it was rather than requesting a replacement.

This experience is not worthy for £144 two girls Food is great but the waiting time is too long. We ordered at 7:45, raw oysters came around 8 but main dishes came at 9:08. The waiter forgot my friend’s steak sauce.

We tried the Oyster Club yesterday for a late lunch 3pm after a recommendation - what a fabulous experience we had! Considering our timing fell in between lunch and dinner, we were looked after royally. The food is simply exquisite with a great wine list and the service was first class. We started with Oysters and then had 4 different starters followed by 2 sharing platters and I can honestly say it was all perfect. Very impressed with this place - well done to all the Team.

I've been to the Oyster Club many times and it used to be a personal favourite. After all, it's one of Adam Stokes' restaurants so you would expect high quality food and excellent service. Well, not anymore. It is quite obvious that the management team has changed and it's all gone downhill since. Unfortunately the lovely and professional Estonian manager has left and been replaced by someone else. The new manager is presenting himself as the "general manager" of the establishment. He seems to lack basic hospitality skills and unfortunately it is quite obvious. Running around aimlessly, picking up glasses with fingers inside the glass. At one point he seemed a bit disoriented as well. The service is very slow and wait times are long. Some of the food has been alright but not what you would expect from a restaurant of that nature. Cocktails are not bad. Unfortunately the dessert was a complete disaster, ordered a sticky toffee pudding and received a lukewarm brownie textured cake with a split toffee sauce. An amateur cook will notice how bad the sauce is. You could clearly see oil in there, I cannot believe that someone from the kitchen approved to send that dish to customers. Service is slow, empty glasses are not cleared from the table and just left piling up while staff trying to fit new cocktails and dishes on the table. I wouldn't recommend the Oyster club simply because it's been excellent before with professional and friendly service and delicious food. Now it's turned into a beautifully looking restaurant with less than average service and food.

Can't fault, we love coming here for an elevated dining experience. We interacted with 3 different members of staff, each lovely and had their own knowlege and charm regarding our food and drinks choices. We had the seafood platter for two, chips and braised lamb balls. I was celebrating a big birthday, and we enjoyed and savoured every mouthful of our meal. My only compaint would be more crab salad, it was delicious! Black forest martini for dessert was THE best; thick, creamy, and tipsy! Shout out to Rob who made my 30th memorable ☺️🫶

Food is exquisite. A bit on the steeper price point but worth every single penny. You get quality ingredients - super fresh seafood, creamy oysters, food cooked and seasoned beautifully. Its quite the experience! I had one of the best Sunday roast here as well. Might I add that you can find some really wonderful desserts - everything leaves me wanting for more. Already been here twice, would highly recommend it. Service crew is really lovely. No complaints!
